Chez Carrie - Review - 2nd Arr. - Paris - The Infatuation

"The “American in Paris” category of food entrepreneurs runs deep, but none of its figures has gotten Parisians to prioritize vegetables over animal protein more than the Michigan-born chef and cookbook author behind Chez Carrie. In her bright, warm debut restaurant full of wood tables and a candle-dotted wrap-around bar that’s great for walk-ins and solo diners, the chef pickles, lacto-ferments, and plays up the wellness cred of kale, buckwheat, and herbs at lunch and dinner. Kick things off with housemade kombucha and a series of excellent starters, like the ajo blanco, made with navy/cranberry beans and miso mushrooms, that’s the texture of a dip, tzatziki-topped polenta fries, fried sage and pickled cucumbers, and plump butternut squash fritters stuffed with melty scamorza. Meatless mushroom and celeriac balls, packed with smoked ricotta, make a great main, while carrot cake soft serve topped with buckwheat is the perfect sweet finish." - Lindsey Tramuta

Amazing brunch spot. The dishes are a creative blend of mediterranean recipes and american flavors. I recommend the polenta frites, butternut beignets and huevos rancheros. The ambiance is warm and relaxing, perfect for sharing great food among friends. Will definitely be coming back.

I loved this place so much that I went there twice in my five day stay in Paris, once for lunch and once for dinner. Both times the food, service and atmosphere were wonderful! I heard about it because of the chef (Carrie's!) French vegetarian cook book that love BOHEME. So unusual and tasty and original! Special shout out for butternut beignets, eggs, ceaser salad, mushroom polpette...and the desserts!!! Oh and homemade kambucha was divine. Well actually everything is homemade, like the carrot cake icecream and evn the labneh used in the dishes. Genuine homemade cuisine from scratch!! And the ser ice was fabulous too, sweet, helpful efficient... OK I think i covered most things, but not everything, don't want to bore you, just go try it!! Ps there are a few meat ingredients to satisfy that taste but honestly the food is so filing and satisfying you wouldn't miss it. This is coming from a big carnivore (me!)

Chez Carrie nails it, beautiful plates, warm ambiance, and next-level flavors in every bite. The details, from the cutlery to the music, feel so thoughtfully curated. Huge compliment to Sarah in the kitchen for such fresh, delicious food; it’s Paris dining I’d absolutely come back for. Thé beignets were my favourite!!

We went here for a new years dinner, and so so happy we chose this spot. Really cozy and small, but we had the cutest table. Food was amazing, delicious combinations. Highly recommend!

Living in Sydney, we are absolutely spoilt for choice when it comes to brunch spots, but everything else pales in comparison to the meal I had this morning. The Eggs Benedict with chanterelles mushrooms, and the cinnamon apple cider donut was exceptional. Beyond the food, the vibe is incredible. It has the perfect ambience and a brilliant American soundtrack playing in the background that ties it all together.

This is the best meal I’ve had in Paris. Hands down. Everything was presented beautifully but even more delicious than it looked. Wonderful vegetarian options and such a fun atmosphere. The service was excellent, you can tell that everyone truly cares! As a solo diner I sat at the bar, but still felt like I was part of everything. Do yourself a favor and add Chez Carrie to your Paris rotation and save room for dessert!

A really lovely and stylish brunch spot with a great atmosphere—perfect for a relaxed morning in Paris. The space is beautiful and the overall vibe is definitely a highlight. While the food presentation was great, the portions and flavours didn’t quite match the high expectations set by the setting, and the prices felt a bit steep for what you get. Still, it’s a charming place to enjoy a coffee and the ambience, especially if you appreciate a trendy, design-forward café.

I've been to Chez Carrie a few times now and will continue to go back. This was my first lunch and the atmosphere was just as cosy as during the dinner service. My friend and me loved the food (I will dream about the grilled cheese toastie for the next week) and Carrie checked in with us to make sure everything was how we wanted. I was also there with my dog and she was very well received!
