"This likeable establishment, run by the same family since 1953, was founded by grandma Davia and taken over in 1985 by mum, Alda, now retired. Since 2016, Pierre Altobelli, whose impressive CV features star establishments in France and Asia, concocts tempting recipes rich in the aromas of Nice. Every detail is perfect, and the ingredients are meticulously sourced. Served in a welcoming vintage bistro décor steeped in authenticity. Heavenly!" - Michelin Inspector

My husband and I had lunch here on a Saturday and it was fantastic. The service was friendly and helpful, the food was cooked and seasoned to perfection, and the wines were delicious. A friend recommended it and I will recommend it to others and come back whenever I'm in the area. Everything was fresh and delicious!

We chose this restaurant because it’s listed as a Bib Gourmand in the Michelin Guide, so we were expecting great food at good value. Unfortunately, the experience didn’t live up to that. The service was quite indifferent. As non-French speakers, we asked for recommendations, but the waiter didn’t make an effort to assist or guide us. We ended up ordering two dishes that we later found out weren’t even among the restaurant’s specialties — something that could’ve easily been avoided with a bit more care from the staff. The food was very average overall — the ratatouille was actually quite good, but the rest of the meal felt bland and overpriced. We spent over €200 for two people and walked away feeling like it wasn’t worth it. What really put us off was seeing a waiter take bread from a table that had already been used and bring it to another table. On top of that, the bread we were served ourselves was noticeably stale. It might be better on another day, but for us, it just didn’t reflect the quality or value we expected from a Bib Gourmand restaurant.

Went to Davia on a Saturday for lunch. The food was exceptional with a seasonal menu. I'm a big calamari adddict so that's the first thing that I ordered. Crispy, fresh and suuuper tasty. Served with a little mayo. Also had poutine toasts, was fresh too and I could taste the sea as I bit it. Main course was thr aioli. Perfectly executed, codfish was moist and tender. A couple of sea snails, perfectly cooked veggies and herbs. Don't go anywhere else for aioli. Service was fine and knowledgeable, I would say that they should serve dishes at the same time on a table. I was almost finished my started when the my father received his. Atmosphere is veeeery quiet. I would say too quiet. Prices are in the higher side of the spectrum too. Highly recommend if you can afford it and like well crafted food.

We had a real nice evening on the Terrasse of Chez Davia. All meals were very delicious; we had: Homemade Ravioli filled with mangold, stuffed sardines, Tuna-Ceviche, lamb-stuffed vegetables, Sole and finally a real nice dessert - just have a look at the pic! Service was very friendly, wine was good and we enjoyed the whole evening there.

Excellent and inspired food. Great service and excellent mood and atmosphere. The winelist need a bit of update to match the food and the bread was beautiful but needed salt and allow the taste of true sourdough. Very recommendable 👏👏

I had a disappointing experience at this restaurant. First, they tried to charge a service fee, claiming it wasn’t included in the bill. As far as I know, in France, service is included by law and the waiters are paid a salary, so this felt like an attempt to take advantage of uninformed tourists. On top of that, they insisted three times that I order a bottled water, even though I clearly asked for “carafe d’eau” (tap water). It seemed like a deliberate push to upsell, hoping I’d give in. Both situations gave me the impression that this place is trying to exploit tourists, especially AMERICANS, who are used to tipping, and others who may not know that filtered tap water is free in France. If you’re visiting, be careful!

Michelin Bib Gourmand restaurant and well deserved. Had dinner here on a Friday in May 2025. It was packed, but the service was attentive and timely. The food is local, seasonal, and fresh. I had the anchovies (pictured) and the daube. Incredible. Lovely, classic room. Interesting wine list. Wonderful atmosphere. The staff are friendly and work hard. Highly recommended. It is small. Book ahead!

Our experience at Chez Davia was amazing. Rain made terrace seating unavailable; the dining room was packed! The barbajuans were prepared and seasoned beautifully. Our main course was daube nicoise, beef stew with beets and stone fruit. For dessert don’t miss the lemon tart. Service was exceptional too.
