Chez Delagare - Brasserie Moderne

Classy, open, light-filled restaurant in a great location facing the railway station serving interesting and creative food. Although I loved the red wine gravy with my pork fillet the meat could have been better trimmed of fat. Most people would have found my partners cod main dish undercooked though he was okay with it. There were several minor issues with the service. Nothing worth mentioning but it usually better when just one server looks after a table and not all the servers.

Huge disappointment! Found this place through Michelin guide, and we are still puzzled how has it managed to make the list! Maybe because it was a weekend lunch, and the chef had a day off, but the food was a disgrace, simply inedible. We have ordered beef, which was dry and weathered - definitely cooked in advance, and fish, which was of a very unappetising grey colour and not even identifiable. The lone young waiter must be still in training - the service was slow and muddled up, which I could forgive, if he hasn’t been left to his own devises without anyone to cover his mistakes or help. Such a shame as the room is quite lovely, and the location is beneficial.

My husband and I had the set menu for dinner, and every dish was divine! Chef Adrien and team really took care of us. The dishes were delicious, presented beautifully. My personal favourite was being surprised by the riz au lait, which had the traditional comfort, but felt lighter and great texture. I’m pregnant so there are food items I shouldn’t have, and the team were knowledgeable, accommodating with our questions, and made recommendations. The service was efficient, professional, and you can tell the kitchen is an efficient and effective ship. Hope we can be back again soon!

Good atmosphere but food is below the expectation, especially the steak, overcooked and poor quality. A little bit disappointed.

We had the tasting menu, great tastes some very surprising combinations which I loved. Recommended!
