On the Grid : Chez Dodo

"She learned everything about macarons in Paris, where she had attended one of the famous schools, and brings all the knowledge with her to Budapest, and maybe more. It’s hard not to see that she loves what she does, just get a glimpse at the Chez Dodo Instagram, where you can read about the new flavours and stories about creating. As you enter the place, it feels like Wonderland, the hand painted aquarelle hummingbirds on the walls, on gift boxes and bags became the symbol of the shop. You can choose from an average of 20 different flavours, and please don’t forget to taste their canelé, which are made according to the original recipe from Bordeaux, in handmade copper molds. While sipping on a hot chocolate or a cappuccino, you can witness the laborious process of the creating, as the macarons are made on the spot." - Stylewalker

New Sushi Cart Yoshi’s Stuns in Multnomah Village | Eater Portland

"In sad news, the Mauritian cart Chez Dodo closed February 28 after an eight‑year run because ongoing graffiti, break-ins, and drug use behind the cart made staying open untenable; owner Shyam Dausoa has taken a new job making food for airlines but hopes to continue serving the menu at occasional pop-ups and to bottle his chutney and gravy for grocery-store sales." - Joy Church

We tried two types of macarons — Marcel Dark Chocolate and Jägermeister Orange. The Jägermeister Orange had a unique and refreshing flavor, something new and different to try, while the dark chocolate one was a classic — rich and perfectly balanced. Lovely place for quality macarons!

We just went here for coffee, but they have some very colorful macaroons. And a huge variety of them. Definitely worth trying. The coffee was pretty good.

Delicious and gorgeous éclairs, caneles and macaroons, both sweet and savoury. Service was also lovely. Great place for a break while touring the city.

We had 5 different tastes of macarons, and all of them were good! Not too sweet but fully filled with each flavor and very soft. To be honest, I prefer Korean styled Macarons which are very crispy outside and chewy inside. However, we really enjoyed their interior of the shop and all the designs of packages they have. This cafe made my day! This will be one of the best items for gift to lovers!

I stumbled into this place by accident while exploring the city, but I must say I was pleasantly surprised. Macarons were really delicious, I had to come back for a second round. 🤭 I’ll probably come back again when I come to Budapest.

Lovely French style pastry shop in the heart of Budapest, selling high quality desserts, coffee and hot chocolate. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. Personally I’m not a big macaron fan, but even I find theirs delicious, easily on par with famous stores in Paris. What I highly recommend is their Hot Chocolate with gingerbread. It’s the best hot chocolate in the city and I find myself coming here every other day for it. If you have a sweet tooth, craving authentic french macarons or just a heartwarming hot chocolate to start your day off then this is the place for you. Don’t miss out on this little gem.🎀

The place is lovely, and the staff are very friendly. I usually don’t like macarons, but the macarons at this place are truly irresistible, not to mention the wide variety of flavors. There are also other types of desserts and several types of drinks. You can either buy to take home or sit and enjoy the desserts. However, note that the space is not large enough during winter for many customers, but it is suitable for a dessert shop. Highly recommended if you want to try macarons for the first time or if you already love them and want to elevate your experience. 👌👌 Even though the prices light be a little expensive but it worth it 💕 A very delightful experience!

A must visit when in Budapest. Nothing less than perfect. Best desert we had in the city. Even coffee was A+. Nice atmosphere. Great service. Macaroons were delicious. There is no way to describe the taste. Just go, and you won't be disappointed
