We continue to experiment with dining options in town and on the Island... This past Sunday we were totally blown away with a night out at Chez Georges.
We have been here a little over 2 years now and have quickly found our favorites along with a lot of ok places. We kept looking at each other and asking the same question "Why have we not been here before?"
From the moment you walk in your are warmly greeted, and even though it was our first trip, we were made to feel like we were regulars. We were introduced to the sommelier who gave us a quick walk around a well put together wine list offering to answer any questions at any time. Our serving "team" also introduced themselves by name and we were told there would be "additions" to the menu but they'd wait a while while we settled in to relax.
We started with cocktails and the two of us that love dry martinis (one gin, one vodka) smiled broadly when our server (yes, I should remember his name, but it was such a long, fun, night, and I'm as old as dirt, so I forgot) said, "I'll tell the bartender "in and out" " #iykyk my wife and I shared the escargot and they were wonderful, She chose a chicken dish, I chose the wreckfish special. Our friends Tori and Paul started with the deviled crab and then chose the duck, and the short ribs and at the end of the meal Paul exclaimed the short ribs were the best he'd ever had anywhere.
As the courses were so varied, we were wrestling with the wine choice, so we put our trust in the sommelier who suggested a Pinot Noir (on of my very favorite varietals) we chose from the list and he was spot on with his reco, it paired perfectly with all four varied entrees. We ended by sharing come creme brulee and some outstanding cappuccino. The pace of the meal was perfect, our server (one of the few people we met who was actually born and raised in Bluffton) was amazing. We have added Chez Georges to our list of top choices.
