We left this restaurant feeling not only disappointed but also uncomfortable. It’s hard to tell whether we were being racially profiled or simply ignored because we didn’t speak French, but our experience was noticeably different from the tables around us.
Despite having a reservation and being seated promptly, service quickly went downhill. Tables seated after us received water and refills long before we did. It took nearly 40 minutes just to get our first glasses, and even then, our repeated requests for refills were ignored while others received them automatically.
As for the food, don’t let the photos fool you. While French cuisine is often served warm, ours arrived cold in the center. The cod was not only cold but bitter and fishy. The duck steak was served blue without anyone asking how we’d like it cooked. It was extremely gamey and difficult to chew. The only saving grace was the chicken burger, which was actually quite good.
It’s really disappointing to see a restaurant treat guests so differently based on language or background. After doing extensive research and feeling reassured by positive reviews, this experience was a huge letdown and left a lasting negative impression.
All in all, maybe stay away if you’re a tourist that doesn’t speak French or don’t look the part. They will treat you with disrespect and you will feel the discomfort and discrimination!!
