The food was good, but it took over 45 minutes to get our meal, which is not ideal when you're on a scheduled tour with limited time to enjoy a light lunch.
Our tour bus was leaving at 2 and our food arrived at 1:55. With the looming threat of the bus leaving before being able to eat, I had my work cut out for me.
I've never had to shovel a full plate of mussels in under 5 minutes, but I've been know to surprise myself. The trick is you really have to put your head down and chew through the pain. My family watched in horror as I crushed the first 10 mussels before taking my first breath. At this point, I was sweating, scared, and in a foreign country.
I rolled up my sleeves, clinched my butt cheeks, and prepared for the next round of 15. Soup flew everywhere, scalding families and small children alike while I jammed chewy seafood down my gullet at an Olympic pace.
To be quite honest I may have blacked out. When I came to, my family was walking to the tour bus and I sped up to catch up with them.
I don't know what I expected when I walked in, but I left a champion.
2 stars for very slow service.
