Chez les Anges

"(Temporarily closed) This chic brasserie, which was refurbished and revamped a few years ago, proposes an extensive set menu and an à la carte menu packed with premium ingredients (sole meunière, Galicia rib of beef). For solo meals, there is nothing like the central counter, where seafood is displayed on crushed ice. Tasty and masterful cooking, and a fine wine and whisky list… What a treat!" - Michelin Inspector

This restaurant located in a fancy area of the city offers a traditional experience veering on the upscale side. The wine selection was extensive and, more interestingly, well priced for the quality of wine offered. The food was delicious and well presented. The staff was polite with our group. Happy to have tried this place as I don’t get to this neighborhood of the city often.

My bf and I had such a great experience at this restaurant, it was the first restaurant we dine at when we got to Paris. It was a beautiful night so we sat outside on the patio, there are lots of tall trees along the side walk, and as if on cue the wind blew and the white petals from the tree came falling down like snow, it was beautiful like something you see in movies. The food was incredible from the appetizers, to the main course, and desserts were just right and mouth watering. I have to say, this restaurant has the best price and the best food out of all the restaurants we've been to. Good portions and clean eating.

Very nice elegant setting restaurant in the center of Paris. Very nice wine. Food was just average. Chantilly cream that accompanied baba au rhum was really good though.

Excellent restaurant. The food was well made, staff was pleasant and fleunt in English (menus are in French). I would definitely come back.

I am sorry, but honest, this was a very poor experience! Really was! We had the surprise menu, but this turned out bad. Starter and first hot course (fish) were ok (not great), but then trouble started. As next course we got beef, but it was impossible to cut with the knife let alone to eat. Endless chewing fatty elastic stuff. Not meat. We made this known to the staff. The staff returned the same dish to us, cooked again, with same result. Impossible to consume !! SO BAD !!I draw a very RED card here: the staff said, the chef said "the meat is ok", but we were not able to cut it with a (sharp) knife or chew it -let alone consume - imposdible to enjoy it. Very very very unpleasant. The chef does not listen to his customers - how pathetic. We were just asking for a decent, consumable piece of meat. Next, deserts were not according to price: we got 2 deserts, both were bits of ice cream, one served with some broken nuts - the other on a piece of very ordinary cake - a bit distasteful. We got offered a glass of desert wine and liquor to pay off the "meat business". We accepted this; not wanting a discussion on the dinner - so we left, paying almost 200€, with a hungry stomach. So bad. Very very sorry - but this was our experience. My advice: don't visit the "Angels" - seek another place.

The steak had more fat in it than any steak I've ever had and I like fat on my steaks. Their house specialty Sole was literally as bland as could be. Shrimp were meh and cheese plate I took one bite of each. Overpriced and I think a lot of their good reviews are fake.

If you need a nice restaurant with amazing dishes without going bankrupt this is the place to be. They also have a bar to eat oysters and the art on the walls is something to go for in and off itself

Google
Just okay - overpriced for the quality for food and service. We made reservations for our trip to Paris two weeks in advance bc we found this restaurant on the Michelin guide as bib gourmand. We had a bottle of wine and a steak for two for 200 euro. The steak was okay but we had much better dinners for far less money without reservations during our time in Paris.

Yelp
Very poor service attitude, the food is also very average, not recommended. And the wrong dish is served. The snail is OK.If the person who serves me doesn't like this job, he'd better change it!

Yelp
This classical and traditional restaurant, located in the tony 7th Arrondissement, meets all expectations. Do not anticipate innovation or creativity from this kitchen. Chez Les Anges is the French restaurant that your parents and grandparents imagined. Elegant and refined, Chez Les Anges makes you feel special. Our window table was the epitome of romantic Paris. My Sole Meunière was delicately prepared and was simply delicious. Cote de boeuf was a large, tender piece of meat. I followed script by having Crepes Suzette for dessert, which was nostalgically marvelous. Chez Les Anges reminded me of a dinner my father rewarded me with when I was an adolescent growing up in New York City. Voisin was a famous French restaurant in the 1950s, and I remember donning my Rogers Peet suit for the occasion. Voisin was the epitome of elegant, and this meal remains in my memory more than 50 years later. Chez Les Anges was a grand dining experience. I will not remember my meal in fifty years in this temporal world, but it was special tonight. Sometimes nostalgia is perfect.

Yelp
Exquisite food, beautiful calm and elegant and romantic ambiance. Had a fantastic meal here. My husband loved his lamb. I delighted in the langoustines. We will be back!

Yelp
One of the best restaurants I found in Paris. The place is pretty chic, service outstanding, and excellent food! I would never forget the crepe Suzette! Truly the best I've had so far. gazpacho was very flavorful and refreshing. The vegetables were so fresh, slightly pickled. Beautiful presentation. If I remember I've had the veal as an entree.. It was pretty delicious! I would come back here again if I get a chance.

Yelp
Chez les Anges might have had an off night during our recent dinner. Simply put, the rather elegant decor and attentive service is inconsistent with the quality of the food and the pricing. Each course was problematic in one way or another - uninspiring pumpkin soup or a veal pate starter, or an over cooked cod plat. Perhaps the most telling misses were the desserts - an over baked chocolate tart that had a bottom crust too hard to cut. The decor makes it a great place for a business meal - but the chef didn't do the setting any favors on this evening.

Yelp
Absolutely loved this restaurant! We were turned away from Thomieux because they were supposedly full, but this was such a great alternative. This is a quiet, tastefully done restaurant with very reasonably priced fixed dinner menus. The staff were very friendly, despite (or maybe because?) being less conversant in English than a lot of other places. The food was excellent, as were the wines. Cream of artichoke soup ladled over cubed foie gras and croutons was just outstanding, as was the veal. My girlfriend's steak was very tasty but on the tough side. Crepes suzette were among the best I've had.

Yelp
One of my favorite in Paris. Not that expensive and truly worth it. Radie noir soup over the foie gras cubs as a starter if just outstanding. Service is very Parisian: efficient without showing up in your face = professional.

Yelp
Outstanding food and service in the 7th, a little neighborhood gem!
