The Best Dim Sum Restaurants in Montreal | Eater Montreal

"Lasalle’s Chez Ping may have an unconventional location — you can enter it directly from the Super C next door — but the food is traditional through and through. There’s a trilingual dim sum menu for you to choose your favourites (no cart service here) and a picture menu for “staple dishes” like noodles and rice. Don’t miss the scallop steamed dumplings or the barbecue pork cheung fan rice rolls flecked with coriander leaf, lending a brightness to this dim sum go-to." - Ivy Lerner-Frank

This little spot honestly serves some of the best sushi in the city! Every bite is fresh, flavourful and beautifully prepared. On top of that, the owners are warm and welcoming ! A true hidden gem!

Thank you to the owners of the restaurant for providing 5 star quality food and friendliness to us! We had a party and they were able to prepare delicious food with great presentation with little time. Everything was delicious - we ordered the 100 piece sushi (HIGHLY recommend - fresh and great variety) , the general tso (crowd favourite), beef scallion ginger, fried rice and chow mein. They even gave us spring rolls which are huge and has a nice crunch. The people at the restaurant are very kind and friendly with everyone. I will be going back to order again and I highly recommend to everyone to try the place out. Thank you again! Anna

A friend recommended it, I was hesitant at first but decided to give it a try. And I'm I did! A little cozy place, 5-6 tables in total, the server was extremely nice! It seems the owner knew many patrons coming in for takeout, which is always a good sign! Great value, large portions, definitely a plus plus plus in the current economy. Paid street parking up front, highly recommended! :) I'll be definitely going back!

It was okay... would have to try a different plate? My mom and I did not like the chow mein but her husband said it was alright.. the won ton soup and the spring roll and sauce was delicious. The waitress knew I did not like it. I had two bites and did not touch the plate but nothing was offered.. paid for something I did not eat:( she also said its normal for noodles to be dry (some were) . It was either not cooked or old dried up noodles. It was drenched in a thick oily sauce which ruined the plate for me. Too bad.

I am really difficult with my Chinese. Don’t like the too authentic Chinese foreign taste, and don’t like the American Chinese with cheap ingredients. This restaurant is the perfect balance of Chinese food with very good prices and huge portions. A really great find! A must try. Fried rice and Shanghai noodles were amazing, ginger beef soso, wonton soup was good but broth could be more tasty, and spring roll was made in house better than average.

This restaurant will forget to put food in your order and tell you on the next order. They will replace it for you and apologize for the inconvenience. Then when you call and ask for the order of the food that was missing, they will tell you that they don't have any notes and take your money. It is horrible business practice. And I would be very careful of buying food from this place. Because you may not get what you order. And you definitely will not get anything back later.
