"Situated right off the Avenue Montaigne, this tiny bistro is laid out like an old-school dining car with cozy booths, vintage luggage racks, and mirrored walls in lieu of windows. As for the rest of the decor, expect to see lots of original Art Deco elements (stained glass, frieze ceiling) left over from a time when Savy was a Jazz Age hotspot. The cuisine is traditional French (foie gras, lentil soup, andouillette sausage) and the portions are generous."

I went to Savy to celebrate my birthday and had an amazing experience! The food was delicious, the service was great, and everyone was incredibly attentive. They even sang happy birthday to me with so much warmth, which made the moment even more special. We were treated very well from start to finish. I’ll definitely be coming back and highly recommend it!

Google
An excellent classic French bistrot experience. Food was classic and done well. Have the bone marrow and toast to start and save room for dessert for their popular apple tarte tatin which we enjoyed because it was not too sweet!

Google
Excellent bistrot. Traditional French dishes made with excellent ingredients . I had veal liver and a potato soup and a glass of st Emilion red wine . I had a delicious rice milk for dessert . Waiters were friendly and funny. Will go again to have the bone marrow.

The food was delicious, service was very professional and efficient and the prices were very reasonable especially given the location. It has a true Parisian local restaurant vibe and I would recommend it to anyone. Our dishes were amazing but everything which other patrons were getting also looked rather appetising 😅

Google
When you sit, the table has a little pot with a wax cover, and inside contains a traditional french rillette to put on your bread. It gets more awesome from there. We have eaten here more than once and in my experience the specials and everything on the menu are good. If they happen to have anything with strawberries and cream up on the dessert menu you would be smart to try it.

Google
Our waiter Alex was amazing! The duck confit with garlic potatoes and lamb was incredible. Fresh bread. Amazing red wine by the glass. The creme brûlée was the best I ever had. Go at 8pm for the atmosphere, I would suggest some light quiet French music as when we got there it was earlier and just would have helped with atmosphere. Overall a gem and not too far a walk for the Eiffel Tower after! Thanks for the lovely French bistro experience!

Google
This has to be one of the best restaurants I have ever been to in Paris. The service was impeccable, the waiters were courteous and respectful. The food was great too. An overall regat experience.

Google
We arrived terribly early for our reservation and were welcomed and tucked into a table with bread and rilletes to wait until the restaurant opened for dinner service. The meal was excellent, the service friendly and attentive.

Yelp
From the amazing service to the ambiance to our bone marrow, duck confit and lamb shoulder confit, this meal was perfection! Merçi pour cette marveilleuse soirée!

Yelp
Got in early during opening time for lunch with a reservation. We were seated at one of the booths that sat four in the rear dining section of this limited seating and narrow restaurant near the Champs-Élysées. This bistro features the typical French dining mood with vintage art deco interior. The kicker is that fluent English speaking server who explained the daily specials and popular dishes for us. This surely made our ordering less stressful. The table had a Chez Savy chicken based spread that we applied to the baguettes prior to getting our drinks and dishes. We ordered Champagne, Bordeaux and a bottle of Coke served with lemon & ice to refresh us from the morning walk. For appetizers, we had the Carpaccio plate and Bone Marrow with seasalt. Our main dishes were the Lamb Shoulder, Duck Confit and Sauteed Veal Chop. Our desserts were Creme Brulee and the recommended Roasted Pineapple. The fare was mostly clean plates except for the Lamb Shoulder (didn't care for the texture and flavor) and the pineapples (too tangy). Overall, another wonderful gustatory feast in Paris, which we will remember.

Yelp
This place was one of those legendary hole in the wall restaurants that serve top notch food. The bone marrow and lamb shoulder were both delicious. Restaurant was very nice, love the banquette seating, and the service was phenomenal, really more than i expected. Big shout out to Sebastian, one of the best servers i ever had.

Janine R.

Yelp
Never again! Had to sit right next to the kitchen door, even though there was a better table for two available throughout the meal. And otherwise there was no effort to be friendly. The regulars were looked after and treated in a friendly manner. As a tourist from a German-speaking country (even though we spoke French) you should definitely not visit this restaurant. Never again.

Yelp
This place was highly recommended by youtube food bloggers if you're looking for an authentic french cuisine that the locals patronize. Reserved way ahead of time, probably 3 weeks prior to our trip. Came for lunch for a party of 4. Service was great, waiters were so attentive. Arrived early for our reservation but we got seated right away. They get super packed right away. Located near Champ Elysee where most high end stores are located. They are reasonably priced and tipping is not needed. We really wanted to copy what the bloggers ordered but we were told those were no longer available but our server's recommendation did exceed our expectations. Food orders as follows: 1. Bone marrow au gratin with toast- yum-must have 2. Escargot - must try when in France 3. Duck confit with sauteed apples 4. Lamb shoulder confit SAVY style 5. Sauteed Veal chop 6. Roasted pineapples with vanilla ice cream 7. Creme Brulee with bourbon vanilla 8. Carpaccio All Dishes were perfection. Definitely a must go to place, locals patronize this bistrot.

Yelp
Chez Savy: 8.5/10. Excellent service, authentic atmosphere, and delicious food, with highlights on bone marrow and lamb. Highly recommended!

Yelp
The food was excellent. And our friendly, English-speaking server Sebastian made sure to make us feel welcome.

Yelp
Chez Savy was an awesome brasserie with a nice atmosphere inside. The staff was very attentive and friendly and the food came out right away. My husband and I tried a few items including the beef tartare, the famous egg-mayo dish, and their special of the day, which was avocado with crab meat. The beef tartare was the definitely the highlight of the meal! I was really skeptical about it in the beginning, but the first bite had me craving more. It was flavorful, seasoned well, and so fresh! I'm still craving it especially now that I'm back in the states. The mayo and egg specialty as well as the avocado and crab dish was decent and solid. They were as expected and didn't disappoint, but didn't wow. Overall, we enjoyed our meal! It definitely had the Parisian vibe. It's also relatively close to Ave de Champs Elysees and a great spot if you want to avoid the tourists on the Main street! This is a hidden gem that I would definitely recommend.

Yelp
Tonight we visited Chez Savy and let me tell you what a wonderful experience for our first visit to Paris. This restaurant was recommended to us and this recommendation was a home run. We were served by Sebastian, Nicholas, and Marie. All three did there part making our visit enjoyable as well as making recommendations on what to order. We started with a charcuterie board full of delicious meats, pickles, and a pate. Loved it! We also had a goat cheese salad with was also delish. And finally, we had the escargot. They were the best ever. For my entree I tried my first helping of Beef Tartare. Yes, it was different and very French. That's what I was looking for and I loved it. My wife ordered the lamb shank and she kept saying how tender and tasty it was. Our friends ordered the veal and ribeye. She lost her veal as it was very tender one full of flavor. My friend that ordered the ribeye exclaimed he is not a beef lover, but he loved his ribeye. For dessert my wife and I tried the Napoleon with which came highly recommended. It was a flaky pastry with whipped cream and caramel sauce. That recommendation was on point. The restaurant was hopping but not once do we have to ask for more water or bread. Conversations with the staff were very welcoming. It was as if we were regulars at their workplace. We felt welcomed and our meals were the best. If you are considering Chez Savy you need to go and you will not have any regrets. If I ever get back to Paris it will be a for sure must go! Such a great atmosphere.

Yelp
My husband and I were flying in from New York. We were waiting outside at Chez Savy around 12 noon and had no idea that we need to reserve the seat well ahead the time. The gentleman who was greeting us by front door told me to write down my name and come back tomorrow. I want to say a big thank you to him as we are flying out Paris next day. Chez Savy has good food and good service. Best of best for every thing. We shall fly back again. Thank you.

Yelp
Came here for the food and was not disappointed. One of the best bone marrow I've had around the world so far. With a small ping of salt, this buttery bone marrow had a great soft texture that just melts in your mouth and perfect when eaten with the steak in every bite. The Argentina steak was cooked to perfection with just the right amount of pink, crispy salty searing on the outside and a very savory soft pink inside. Planning on making another visit here in the past 7 days. Definitely one of the food highlights so far! On a random note, we saw the chef in the dining room, he looked like that guy Gabriel from Emily in Paris.

Yelp
We had a great time at Chez Savy. They had room For our large party last minute and we're so friendly and welcoming - the waiter was especially great and personable. We loved the food and the classic bistro ambiance and would definitely go back again. The beef cheeks special was delicious as were the salads

George C.

Yelp
My wife and I had high expectations and we were not disappointed at all. For appetizers, we ordered bone marrow and parsnip soup, they were fabulous. For entree, my wife ordered steak and I had sea-bass with ratatouille. Both dishes were perfectly cooked. For dessert, we had cream brulee and chocolate mouse, a perfect ending for the day. The staff was friendly and helpful. I would highly recommend to my friends and plan to return here when I am in Paris again.

Yelp
Enjoyed what we ordered: salmon on a bed of spinach and duck with potatoes. Salad to start and creme brulee to wrap it up we're both great too. Only drawback was a bit pricey for quality. Even though good, $115 was slightly up there. Though may have been fair since I didn't really check how much the calvedos was.

Yelp
I loved our waiter he was so laid back and nice, I also really liked the food. Definitely get the steak tartare it was the best I ever had!! Inside the ambiance is very French and kind of laid back

Yelp
A locals spot and they speak English. Very delicious mayonnaise egg dish. Also very good service and wine list. Price is very reasonable, especially for the quality of food.

Yelp
Excellent food, fun vibe, nice staff. A fantastic evening here. Did walk-in opening, and it seemed like they were taking a few tables.

Yelp
Fabulous lunch experience not too far from the bateaux mouches boat tour! Good food, good service, good ambiance, and good company. Or, as my mom said "I didn't eat anything I didn't like, service was excellent, and 5.5 stars for our waiter's sense of humor." Food/drinks: SO GOOD! They gave us bread and rillettes (pork confit-like spread) to start. Our party then ordered charcuterie and tomato/burrata - both were great. I ordered tartare de daurade (fish tartare) - excellent! - with a side salad and, of course, some fries (also very good). Others raved about the fish of the day and steak. I skipped dessert but saw empty plates of the riz au lait and caramel ice cream. And of course, everything was washed down with a nice bottle of rosé. Service: Excellent. And I don't say that lightly. Was it the lack of crowds (Covid times or late hours of our lunch)? I don't know, but I greatly appreciated their patience, helpfulness, and humor. Ambiance: Its a cute diner-like setting inside, strait out of the 1920s! Due to our party's size, we were placed in the backroom - which was a little bit of a bummer because we didn't have the full historic experience. But we had such a good time that it didn't matter in the end. Really fun family experience with great food, drinks, and service. I can gladly recommend!

Yelp
Food wasnt bad and our American born waiter was terrific. But dont bother looking at the photos of the restaurant because they will seat you in the less nice looking back if you are not French. I really dont understand the prejudice here. The front is empty but they refuse to seat well paying customers there.

Lori L.

Yelp
We returned to Chez Savy two months ago. The food, service, and ambiance remain excellent.

Lori P.

Yelp
We chose Chez Savy as our first dinner in Paris and it was everything we hoped for. Sebastian was delightful and the food was fabulous. Everyone was very helpful and welcoming. We sat at a table in the front and enjoyed everything about our visit. Helped set the tone for the most wonderful visit to Paris.

Yelp
Quick lunch at the end of "Taste of Paris". Parisian institution that neither disappoints nor provokes ecstasy. Very good rillettes in amuse bouche. A bib of good Angus and a well-made Bearnaise. Original sweetbreads served on a strange bed of ziti (long macaroni). Half carafe of red wine a bit expensive at 27 euros. Bill of 78 euros for two. It integrates the beautiful frame and all celebrities which are going there...

Yelp
Delicious duck and roasted potatoes, bone marrow was the best, great service from Sebastien, lovely spot in the middle of a quiet street. Overall delicious traditional French food and charming place.

Yelp
If you are looking for a great French meal outside of the tourist traps on the champs elysees this place is a win. We strolled in on a Monday night and we're excited to find it half full with a good energy. We sat outside and were immediately given a wine list. The server spoke enough English to guide us in the right directions and they had an English menu as well. We ordered a bottle of Sancerre for 25 euros and it was great. They brought out complimentary bread and pate which was a nice touch. For starters we had the escargot which came out like a salad rather than in the shell. Good flavors and it was easier to eat then breaking through shells. The main courses however were what really shined. I had the lamb shoulder and it was epic. It was a massive hunk of fall off the bone meat covered in a smoky and savory red sauce. Awesome flavor and good portion size. My wife had the filet which was priced pretty high but it was delicious. Our other guest had the chicken which on their menu was labeled poppy. It was incredibly tender and definitely a win. Overall awesome little bistro with great service. There was a good mix of Americans and french dining when we were there.

Yelp
Don't even think about Chez Savy on a Saturday or Sunday night - they are closed but save this one for something special! Their classic French cuisine leaves you incredibly satisfied that you have had the type of meal you were expecting on your visit to Paris. Just what you would expect from a restaurant that has been serving the locals for almost 100 years. The menu was French and English and the waiters all spoke better than average English. We stayed within walking distance and our first dinner in Paris saw us sampling the escargot and the steak tartare. Our last dinner included the amazing leg of lamb - braised in an incredibly fragrant and complex sauce for over 6 hours. We visited a Michelin 2 star and this was every bit as memorable but seemed set aside for the locals so the atmosphere was relaxed.

Christopher S.

Yelp
Great service. Food came out quickly. English menu available. Staff speaks-both English and French. Our food arrived in record time and dessert was amazing

Yelp
Classic brasserie as this institution. Lunch is a busy service with robust, generous portions of French cuisine classics. Love the atmosphere, the service is super friendly, high energy place. The french fries are outstanding, great wine list, splurgy comfort food with character. Pricey but you're also paying for the neighborhood and location. Will go back.

Yelp
This was, undoubtedly, our best meal in France. The interior is fashioned out of an old school, Art Deco era, train passenger car. One set of patrons had actually placed their bags on the gleaming luggage racks overhead. This architecture forecasts the equally traditional cuisine and pre-modern atmosphere. We started with the pâté, which was divine. It comes in two generous slabs. It is rich, creamy, and spreads smoothly on to the toasted bread that the server provides. The beer was a refreshing, summer white, like you often encounter in France. (They only had one, on tap.) The highlight of the evening however was the duck confit, we each ordered a serving. This was the best preparation of the dish that I had ever experienced: crispy skin, moist tender flesh, and the fat rendered away. Reputedly the owner likes to hunt, and that passion for game comes across in this dish. The fried potatoes are also excellent.

Yelp
I was getting a touch worried that at 2200 on a Monday night walking round the 8eme we weren't going to get anything to eat. What a little gem we found here! It was completely packed out, but they seemed to find a nice table for the 5 of us, and I had a fantastic meal and tried a whole load of new things, including: - Bone marrow on bread with salt (Os à moelle) - Intestines stuffed with other offal (Andouillette) The bone marrow was particularly delicious! The service was great, the wine very passable plus Le Baron is just round the corner for some post-marrow entertainment

Yelp
An upscale old school traditional restaurant near high end shops at the Champs-Élysées. Expect to triple check your bill as prices may change between ordering and end of service. It may just be that they want to retain their local lore.
google avatar

Kevin G.

Yelp
Amazing duck and frites! Really great frites. Surpassed expectations. Service was good. We were there around 10pm and were seated immediately. We tried to order more frites to go but they would not let us. Worth it!
google avatar

Yelp
Lovely, small restaurant in the 8th. Had an early (for Paris) dinner. First off, the wine list is FANTASTIC. Had a fantastic selection of well-priced Burgundies. Still dreaming of a Pontet Canet..... My husband had the duck, I had steak frites. Bot perfect examples of the classic dishes. I had a Baba au Rhum, which again was textbook perfect. We don't speak French, but were treated with courtesy. I found the service very attentive and prompt (not American-style rushing, but they were paying attention.) This classic French place is what French restaurants are striving for in the US, formal yet unfussy. Can't wait to go back!

Yelp
We really enjoyed ourselves. Amazing what a waiter (or two) with personality and good suggestions can do to improve a restaurant. We chose Savy based on Yelp reviews when our "first choice" was closed. There aren't too many brasseries in easy walking distance from the Marriott on Champs Elysees that offer both good food and good value. Chez Savy does both and then some. My wife had a special - smoked haddock poached in milk served with steamed potatoes. I had the lamp chops with sauteed vegetables. Both were quite good. We shared an apple tart with mango sorbet for dessert - vanilla ice cream would have been preferred but... Our wait staff was very helpful and their English better than the translation program on my cell phone! We remarked that the vast majority of diners when we were there were English speakers but you couldn't tell from the decor or the mood of the place. We consider Savy a real find and are very comfortable recommending it wholeheartedly.
google avatar

Liron T.

Yelp
Chez Savy doesn't look like much from outside, but this long, corridor-like establishment is actually quite the hotspot. We had a bunch of interesting dishes (see Phil's review), I had a starter dish of baked egg in cream and Roquefort cheese. skipped the main course, as I wasn't particularly hungry, but sampling off my friends' dishes, it's obvious I need to try a main course the next time around. Come hungry and in an experimental mood!
google avatar

Stephen T.

Yelp
You would have thought that given the current picture representing the restaurant is of my friend and colleague, Phil, I might have thought twice. But the reviews are all correct. Perfect French brasserie, classic decor, classic old style dishes and the most amusing, helpful and friendly waiting staff you could want. One steak frites (a point) and a bottle of Givry later - very happy and satisfied after a long hard day. The 8eme near the champs elysees isnt endowed with good value places like this. A real find.

Yelp
Really nice waiters, took us in 10 mins before there closing time. Had the steak and bone marrow (really tender) and the most delicious desert, egg custard with a cloud (meringue)! Will be back again!
google avatar

Eli F.

Yelp
Delicious "confiture de canard" and a real rear stake ! Lovely charm and minimal tourists despite location.

Paola G.

Yelp
We had a lovely and very good dinner. 3 of us tried the duck (canard) dish and it was superb! The rice pudding and the duck were the best ever!

Yelp
Well, we travel quite a bit. I have never eaten a tougher beef filet in my 50 years of traveling, anywhere in the world. We arrived at about 2:15pm and the staff was ready to go home. Regardless, the maitre d seated us at a tiny table next to dome people even though the entire restaurant had less than 10 people in it. We asked to sit in a booth but he said no. It is only for 4 people. Well we ordered quickly since there are no English menus and no one really spoke English or so they said. The steak was tasty and the fries were great but if I have ever tried a tougher piece of meat, I cannot remember. We had a custard dessert that was excellent. I have visited Paris more than 30 times and this was simply the worst value, ever.

Yelp
Went to this little restaurant in the height of Paris tourist season. We ate early for Paris (8pm) so the place was fairly empty to start but filled up quickly with a mix of what appeared to be native French and foreign diners. The night was beautiful so the few outside seats were completely full of Parisians drinking and having their pre-dinner cheese plates. The menu is a lot of classic French dishes and it is entirely in French but our very helpful waiter did translate and explain what we were unable to figure out on our own. What they listed (in English) on their website is close but not exactly what was on the menu in the restaurant. Wait staff was friendly and attentive by Paris standards. Bread and hard boiled quail eggs were provided to the table which was unique and tasty. Starters were escargot that was some what en croute (although there were multiple pastry pouches) with a salad and vinaigrette dressed lentils with crispy bacon. Both were tasty but the lentils were a really great example of a dish being greater than the sum of its parts. We shared a for two cote de beouf that was really delicious and simple. Well seared and seasoned outside and warm reddish pink inside for the requested medium rare. This medium rare was closer to the rare end of the spectrum by most US standards so order accordingly. The dish was served with a split bone of roasted marrow and a plate of skinny, crispy, delicious frites. Dessert was a not too sweet but well flavored pot de creme. A lovely place for a more casual but not tourist junk, Paris dining experience. Another group of US visitors with two younger kids were there and the wait staff seemed to be taking it in stride and helping the family enjoy their meal. Our waiter was friendly and attentive and didn't give us that "great, another american tourist" reaction that I've experienced not infrequently.

G. K.

Yelp
My wife and I received a recommendation for Chez Savy from the concierge and he set up reservations for us. We had heard the waiters were a bit pretentious but we decided to go anyway. The service was OUTSTANDING! Not only was our server helpful but everyone there was friendly and willing to help my ménage of French and English. We ordered a bottle of Bordeaux which was good. For an app we had the foie gras which is served cold and with toasted bread. We had a house salad and the steak for 2 with fries. The steak came out on a huge plate and on the bone which the maitre d sliced off and then served us. Bone marrow was served as well (which we arent big fans of). The meat was good and the fresh cut fries were not bad. To top it off, we had a caramel custard which was very good. Definitely a locals favorite but with as many restaurants as are in Paris, I would want to try a new place.
