This place is such a hidden gem! Both sandwich’s were phenomenal. The service was so quick, we got our sandwiches in less then 15 minutes. The homemade chips were perfectly crisp and seasoned with what tasted like vinegar season salt. We also tried their chocolate chip cookie with flaky sea salt on top and it was surprisingly soft and moist. This is definitely my new regular spot!

New to Salem, ChezCasa boasts an elevated sandwich/salad menu infusing Italian, Mexican, and French cuisines. Got the Jive Turkey, which was tasty though the pickled onions were a little overpowering. Tried the quinoa salad and added tuna, which was a welcomed break from a standard salad bowl — healthy, earthy, and satisfying. Others tried the Chicken salad sandwich, which was enjoyable but not out-of-this world. Bottom line, if you are visiting Salem, you should definitely check out this innovative and unique sandwich shop!

I visited Salem from Japan for the first time and stumbled upon this place while walking around. I loved everything about it! The sandwich was delicious, and the lady was very kind, which made my day. Thank you so much :)

Super nice dude, clearly very passionate about food as it comes through in the flavors. I got a chopper cheese and dined in, house chips and pickle were a pleasant surprise, perfectly toasted fresh bun and well balanced sandwich with just the right amounts of beef, cheese, mushrooms, onion strings and spicy Mayo. I will definitely be back to try the empanadas! EDIT - I did make it back for some empanadas and holy cow am I glad I did! They were freshly cooked and delightfully plump, packed with a savory beef filling. The dough was flaky and light (not thick and heavy) and bonus points for great structural integrity. These did not fall apart as I took bites doused in their house made hot sauce. I usually avoid empanadas for lunch out of a fear of feeling bloated and way too full afterwards but 2x of these with a topo chico and I was right as rain and ready for the 2nd half of my workday. FYI I do think they switch up the fillings daily so they may not have beef. Just be sure to ask and I am certain whatever filling it is you will not be disappointed.

Beautiful store! Vinyls and great music. Had food for pickup. Ordered the Delicious Empanada Du Jour and the ChickyCasa Sandwich. The ChickyCasa sandwich was delicious and fresh. Probably the best establishment cooked chips Ive tasted in Salem. Bonus is the Meatball sub, according to co workers its a must try sandwich. Both coworkers rated it at the top of their lists.

So happy this little gem is still open through this crazy time! Ahi Tuna was delectable. If you like cape cod potato chips, you'll love the chef's homemade chips, that come with your sandwich. Two very happy customers, over here!

The food is totally worth the walk. The food was amazing. Not heavy or greasy. The tuna was perfectly cooked and seasoned. You must try it even if you don’t like fish. Homemade chips were an awesome addition to the sandwich.

I’m going to dream about that grilled beat salad. The beef empanadas were excellent and we bought the house made chips and hot sauce to take with us!

I ordered lunch for delivery over the weekend, and the ratings are spot on. We had the pulled chicken sandwich, which was almost like a mayo chicken salad, with fresh vegs and a nice ciabatta bun! Huge portion. Hubs had the meatball sub, and according to him, was not short on meatballs; nice sauce, nicely melted provolone, loved the cherry peppers, and roll stood up to all that it held. We each got a bag of chips and a pickle. The chips couldn't have been more perfect! Nice crispy, salty goodness! While the menu is quite limited, we are excited to explore other sammies and salads. The price was just right.

This place has the best sandwiches!! It's so easy to overlook as it's not a fancy display, but you are missing out if you aren't stopping in. My hands down favorite is the Chicken Casa. Fresh pulled chicken, fresh ingredients and a yummy ciabatta. My cousin swears the meatball sub is the best of all time, and my husband can't help but get the pork tenderloin. SO GOOD!!!

We've been customers of Chez Casa for a few years now getting sandwiches every few months. Late this past summer we ordered two meatball subs and when we got home, there were no chips. I called and asked Keenan (the owner) if they had changed their policy about chips with the order, as they were missing. Keenan said "No. I'm so sorry I forgot them." I said no problem, I just wanted to check. He again apologized and I assured him it was no big deal. Fast forward to today when I called in again to order two meatball subs. When I arrived Keenan greeted me and let me know extra servings of his chips were included. I never expected that and was amazed he was able to remember when I had simply called in an order for "John". Above and beyond great customer service.

What a refreshing reprisal from the hum dum chains and "pizza" shops. This little gem is sandwich artistry at its finest. Keep up the good work- you are appreciated!!

Wonderful owners, wonderful service and the house made touches are super tasty. Go here if you want to avoid the tourist traps with so-so food. You won't find a better sandwich in Salem!! We grabbed two Not Italian sandos and we're extremely impressed. Layers of tasty meat, properly seasoned oil and vinegar dressed lettuce a peppers. Pretty sure celery salt with pepper is what brings out bright profile to the sando. The house made chips and pickles makes it extremely difficult to pick which item you'll devour first. The pickle is a classic fresh, barely pickled flavor with a salt-first profile. The chips are crispy, flaky and sliced to thin perfection while coated heavily in salt and spices. We almost went back for another bag!

We drove fairly out of the way to come to Chezcasa for sandwiches, and it did not disappoint. I had the meatball grinder and it was absolutely amazing. The combination of the not too sweet tomato sauce and the spicy peppers with the pork and beef meatballs on a perfect roll. It was grinder heaven and their chips are amazing. I can't recommend it.

I have been a customer since Chez Casa opened. Here is a gourmet chef impersonating as a sub shop owner. All of his sandwiches are creative spinoffs of traditional mainstays. During the winter months he adds specials (today's soup is a case in point) that demand close attention . His clam chowder is my new gold standard. His Duck cassoulet is a revelation. Thanks for picking Salem Chef!

Everything was delicious! ChezCasa is a short distance (walking distance) from all of the restaurants overrun with people and with incredibly long wait times. It's a small, comfortable space with a few tables. Everyone we spoke with, including the owner who we chatted about CIA (Culinary Institute of America), was very pleasant. My husband and I split an empanada, and it was very good, but the hot sauce stole the show. It was so flavorful and had the perfect amount of heat. I got the meatball sandwich and it was fantastic. The meatballs were tender, the sauce was great (not too much it too little), and nice bread. My husband enjoyed his sandwich as well though I don't recall the name. Both came is delicious homemade chips and homemade pickle. A must when in Salem!

Sad to say I only live about a mile away from this great place and just found out about it but now it will be a regular stop for sure. I was on my way home from work and decided to get some takeout on my way home. I was lucky enough that the Chef/ Owner was there and it was a little quiet before the dinner rush so I got to chat it up with him while he prepared my salad . A graduate of the legendary CIA (Culinary Institute of America) and has worked in many places a over greater Boston We're lucky to have him here on the North Shore in Salem and yes that salad was Killah !!

Unassuming little place with delicious sammies. One of the top meatball subs I've had in my life. Also, their chocolate chip cookies and bacon fat arepas are wonderful. Service was also great. And it's just a block or so away for anyone visiting TST who could use a hellishly delicious meal after communing with the Dark Lord.

Pretty good sandwich place! Got the tuna and the Italian, both were tasty! The tuna was really good and different, the Italian was good too but pretty basic. Would recommend trying!

Great sandwiches, not a fancy place but worth trying for the yummy food. The day we came they also had chorizo empanadas, so good and filling.

After 18 months, I finally got a chance to stop by for lunch. To be honest, I could kick myself for waiting so long. I purchased the meatball sub and it was fantastic. Everything about it was perfect, no complaints. And I love the homemade chips they provided. I'll be back every week to try each and every sandwich.

I love stumbling open a restaurant that has 5 stars on Yelp and I'm happy to say I'm going to keep that trend going! I ordered takeout from here and even with a 20 minute drive home the subs stayed in tact and didn't get soggy. We ordered the Chopper and the Meatball sub and I will say the Chopper is the best steak and cheese sub I've ever had. My partner said the meatball sub was excellent too! The flavors in the Chopper were delightful, the chipotle mayo and fried onions really elevates the sub. To my surprise the pickles were also very good. I thought they were going to be the bland cucumber deli style pickles but they were actually pretty sour and fermented which I liked. The homemade chips were a bonus, they were light and not greasy. The food and service was superb, I will definitely be back!

I work down the road from this place and whenever I have a free moment and am buying lunch, I pretty much only choose Chez Casa. I order the same thing 9 out of 10 times and it's the mushroom sandwich. Whatever witchcraft is involved with making it that good, keep doing it. And the chips...don't even get me going. I order a large bag every time.

Best sandwiches in town. The homemade potato chips are incredible. Had a meatball sub that was probably the best one I've ever had. This place is a must stop for lunch if you're in the area. Don't forget to leave room for the chocolate chip cookies.

Chez Casa is quick and reasonably priced and convenient, so if you want something on the go they'll make it work. I was uninspired by the sandwich I had. The ingredients were fine but nothing went above and beyond. The bread has the most opportunity to improve if they choose to swap any of their basics out.

I've been coming here for a while now and am always impressed. The food is amazing and I cannot think of a better sandwich shop. Get the steak and cheese or meatball sub because they're both amazing. The empanadas and arepas are also delicious.

My partner and I were staying in Salem for the weekend and this restaurant was right near our accommodations. We weren't able to check in quite yet so we decided to pop in for a bite. I sure am glad we did. I had the chopper cheese which was absolutely delicious. The perfect combination of decadent cheese without being too heavy. My partner had The Schnitz which he said was the next schnitzel he's had in the US. On top of their killer food everyone we spoke to in the restaurant was friendly, accommodating and willing to help. It was also super fast service even though there were multiple people who came in to grab to go orders while we were waiting for our food.

This place is the best! I have to come here if I'm in Salem! Great place for an amazing sandwich, homemade chips and homemade pickle. Doesn't get any better. Favorite is chopper cheese!! Great specials too! Take home options like soup are terrific! The taste combinations are just delicious!

This place will be the reason I return to Salem. Just finished eating my ChickyCasa in my car within about ten minutes. I thought I was going to just have a bite (I was hungry) before finding a place to picnic, but I ended up eating the whole thing. Comes w a side of homemade (I think) salt and vinegar chips. Service was prompt and friendly. Very much an inspiration of an establishment. Gracias! OH MY GOD I JUST FOUND A PICKLE AT THE BOTTOM OF THE BAG!!!

I sent sandwiches through Uber eats two friends who have lost a family member and they loved the sandwiches for lunch and the cookies were also great... they said they highly recommended!

Had an amazing meal at Chez Casa today!! I ordered the Mushswoon sandwich with baby watercress, pickled onions on a ciabatta bread. It came with chips and a pickle. The owner makes everything here!! The bread, pickles, chips, hot sauce. He makes pasta, all kinds!! I'm very impressed with this place, the food was very delicious. I'll definitely be back!

My whole family loves getting sandwiches here. It sounds cliche but literally everything we've ever had is good here. I love the chopper sandwich but it's always a hard decision because I also love the Jive Turkey and Chicky Casa. The meatballs and tuna sandwiches are also go tos for us. Add in the homemade chips and cookies and this place is a solid win every time. It doesn't hurt that the shop owner is a talented foodie and a genuinely nice guy.

So so good! Glad that my fiancé and I dropped in here for a quick dinner before ending our day in Salem. We tried the chopper cheese and schnitzel sandwiches plus the empanada du jour (chorizo) and arepas. Everything was so delicious and flavorful. Cozy, low-key vibe and super quick service. Nice bathrooms and decor. Everything on point!

So far, we have loved Chez Casa. Our favorite things have been: - the chips - fresh made in house with just the right balance of salty and crispy (and a little vinegar) - the "Italian" style sub - delicious bread, to-die-for pickled veggie mix - the meatball sandwich - the meat is very savory, the cheese is nice and gooey, and the chopped peppers are HOT - the pickles - seriously, so flavorful and well done. It's refreshing to get a spicy, garlic-y, flavorful pickle with a sandwich instead of one that's clearly just out of a jar. Everything tastes great, and we look forward to patronizing this place for dinner whenever we don't feel like cooking! I will update my review as I work my way through their sandwich options. I also am excited to try the house-made pasta and sauce Update: - just tried the Mushroom sandwich. The bread was my favorite of all the options at this place. The mushrooms were good, but my favorite part was the cheese - lightly toasted and a great compliment to the red peppers - the arepas were AMAZING. Apparently the chef uses bacon fat in the dough, so not only are they cheesy, they are also faintly bacon-y

This place is amazing. I wish I had gone sooner! I went with a group of friends. We all got different things, but everybody raved about their choice! I got the 'Not Italian'. So fresh. So delicious. Would HIGHLY recommend

I was completely and utterly satisfied. Practically everything is made from scratch and the effort shows in how the food tastes. The ahi tuna was beyond amazing, the empanadas and arepas to die for. Chopper cheese sandwich was beautifully made, with the perfect crispy onions in each bite. One of my favorite parts, the owner and chef. A nice guy with killer cooking skills. So good that we came here two days in a row for dinner. I would recommend this place to everyone and anyone possible.

I drive out of my way from Cambridge just to get the beet salad with seared tuna. Amazing. I've also tried the arepas and empanadas which are delicious. Everything on the menu is probably delicious, but I can't stop ordering the beet salad.

Found our new go to sandwich spot- everything is homemade and absolutely delicious. Have tried the chopper cheese, captain meatball, chicky casa, and tuna sandwiches. As a Philly girl, I have to say that the chopper cheese was phenomenal! The tuna sandwich is the perfect combination of flavors without being heavy. Partner loved the meatball sandwich- tons of flavor. This is our new go to sandwich place for sure.

We got 2 sandwiches(seared tuna, the Italian) the empanada of the day and arepas for lunch. Sandwhiches and the empanada were amazing! The arepas were a little on the greasy side but they are cooked in bacon fat.so I guess that's to be expected. I would have liked an option for one cooked without the bacon fat but I would definitely still order it again

I will DEFINITELY be a repeat customer here. Ordered their Italian sandwich and some bacon fat arepas. The arepas were flaky, cheesy, and full of bacon flavor. At the risk of sounding trite, they tasted homey and made with love. The Italian sandwich unexpectedly came with homemade chips and a pickle. I wanted to try the chips next time so I'm glad the sandwich came with them! The pickle tasted homemade and was perfectly crunchy and vinegary, with a little sweetness. The chips are seasoned well and have a vinegary bite which makes them addicting. The sandwich was well constructed on delicious bread. I need their giardiniera recipe. What more can I say? Glad I ordered, glad I have another half of my sub for tomorrow...if I can resist waiting that long.

Chez casa absolutely nails it. I had the "captain meatballs" sub and my daughter had the "chopper cheese. They do only have 4 tables for dining, but who cares, I would eat these sandwiches out on the front curb. I wish I was hungry enough to try the grilled beets salad or the bacon fat arepa, but sadly, I was too full. Thank you for a wonderful meal.

Chez casa is the hidden gem of salem. As a native south jersian, their cheese steak is the best I've had in mass. There is so much flavor in every bite of their sandwiches. I saw a review saying this is a trained chef disguising as a sandwich guy, and that could not be further from the truth. Best steak and cheese I've ever had. Best restaurant on the North Shore period. Keenan is a fantastic chef and his food never disappoints.

I don't even know where to start, this place was so good! My husband & I split a chickycasa, chopper cheese & a chicken empanada. Everything was delicious. Not sure why we waited so long to try this place but this will definitely become one of our top places for subs!

I had the schnitzel sandwich and my better half did the chopped cheese sandwich. We both loved our sandwiches so much that we didn't even try the others. Whoops, guess we'll just have to go back!

I don't eat sandwiches often but if I do, I'll go out of my way to go to Chez Casa. I've tried 5 sandwiches here and they have all been great, Not Italian, Chicky Casa, Schnitzel, Captain Meatball and Chopped Steak. Captain Meatball and Chopped Steak are amazing often times I will order both and have half of each for both lunch and dinner. The sandwiches are thoughtfully prepared and include delicious homemade potato chips and a homemade, with a kick pickle spear. Be sure to check the prepared food cooler for daily specials.
