Chi-Kin has been on my list for ages, thanks to my brother hyping it up, and I finally had the chance to try it with him. As big fans of Korean fried chicken, this spot was a must-visit, and it absolutely delivered!
I ordered the chicken tenders in sweet gochujang sauce, with a side of white rice and kimchi, and WOW. The crispiness of those tenders was next-level, probably some of the best I've ever had. This was my first time trying sweet gochujang sauce, and it was such a pleasant surprise--sweet, tangy, and just the right amount of heat. Since that meal, I can't stop craving chicken tenders with rice instead of fries. The combination of crispy tenders and soft rice was perfect, and the freshness of the kimchi added just the right bite to bring everything together.
The service was also on point! Our server was super friendly and knew it was my first visit, so he walked me through the menu and helped me pick the best sauce for my tenders. The prices were great too, with most menu items under $15 or even $10, unless you're going for a family meal. Quality and quantity? Absolutely worth it.
The only thing I'm not a huge fan of is the ambiance. The place is very plain, dark, and a bit cold, with metal tables and chairs and minimal decor. I personally prefer a more upbeat, cozy vibe when I'm eating out, but that's just my taste.
Overall, Chi-Kin is a must-try if you're a Korean fried chicken lover! I can't wait to come back and explore more of the menu.
