"At Chi Maek, the signature fried chicken is deceptively simple: a choice between four different cuts, or a combo of wings and drums all dressed in a soy garlic or spicy sauce and accompanied by either slivers of pickled radish or a lightly creamy cabbage coleslaw. Though straightforward, each element is masterfully done: juicy, marinated chicken; a shatteringly crisp shell that absorbs sauce without losing crunch; and spice with a heat that builds. For something fresh to balance out the richness, order a side of the bright and cooling cucumbers." - Julie Yu

This is a nice and casual spot. I didn’t know that they opened until 10pm on a Tuesday. Craved for a snack and tteokbokki was perfect! We decided on a whim to sit and eat even though we ordered take out. Server came by to check in if we wanted plates, which was nice. ☺️ The food was hot in temperature and even though we didn’t finish the food, by the time we got home, it was still pretty warm.

Chicken wings were delicious! It came out nice and hot. The batter was perfect, crispy, and light. We couldn't stop eating them! The cucumbers were also tasty and fresh. Everything we ordered was amazing. The owner came out to greet us, she was very sweet. Customer service was great.

My brother introduced me to this place. Said they had the best wings. I won't say the best, but I will say the scrunchies even with sauce. I had the combo wings and drums with garlic soy and spicy sauce. My favorite was the edamame! I also had steamed rice and picked radish. I would take a side of that picked radish with any dish. Overall, it's not too bad.

We love coming here for lunch. We always get the $11 lunch special with wings and fries. We really like the soy ginger sauce. I've also tried the spicy wing sauce, and although its good- the soy ginger has more flavor in my opinion. I have also ordered the bulgogi as it's one of my favorite dishes, but for some reason it just doesn't fit the bill for me. Lunch is where it's at-- we can get 2 meals out of 2 lunch specials. The people that work here are always courteous and prompt.. The only knock I would give it is that it gets a little noisy when busy and the sound seems to echo. Not a big deal, but easy to remedy.

Heard many good things about Chi Maek from coworkers and friends. This place didn't disappoint in service and food options. I had the half and half small drumstick combo which you get soy garlic and spicy to try. Two out of this world sauces. The taste of the soy garlic was salty and bold which calmed the spice in the other. Love spicy and the hotness builds over time and are very tasty. The crunch on the chicken was outstanding and cooked inside perfectly. The coleslaw was interesting but good. Great service by staff at this establishment. Many popular choices for other Korean food too which will bring me back very soon. Many take out orders and customers at 6pm on a Thursday.

Great copy of Bonchon, in a good way. Korean food is delicious especially if you like spicy food, so it is great to see more Korean restaurants in the area. If you haven't tried Korean fried chicken you should go and try it, you will thank me for the advice. The price is affordable considering the size of the servings and the service is excellent. This will be the new culinary tendency here in MN. Come and try it.
