Lots of really good food for great prices the servers we're very nice and friendly and helped with the menu explaining what things were. We had the lunch special. We got the egg drop soup first which was delicious and chicken and pork pad Thai 😋 very good and had plenty left over for later and left there full also we had a Thai tea which was really good and creamy.Highly recommend this place.

Google
Solid food. Friendly service. Good prices. The place was a bit empty and quiet, but good for a quick and good meal.

I have been to this place 5 times since my first time two months ago. Food is outstanding. Prices are reasonable and staff is very friendly. The panang curry is probably the best curry I have ever had. 10/10 recommend it's delicious.

My teenage daughter and her boyfriend went in for dinner to celebrate his birthday and not only was their order messed up, the server treated them like trash. They had no intention of leaving a tip because it was so bad. These people ADMITTEDLY STOLE AN 18% TIP! Thieves! When we called to ask for the money back they said because the tip portion was left blank, they helped themselves to a tip. THEFT and not to mention forgery! Steer clear of this place. They just lost very loyal and regular customers. Taking advantage of a young couple that is enjoying life before their military enlistment is despicable!

Ordered pineapple fried rice, the pineapple was nearly rancid. If you're going to increase costs to meet rising prices, don't use fruit from before the price increase. I paid for the food so they should know I'm not complaining to get free food. You need to do better.

Great prices for amount of food. unfortunately I asked for no spicy & got the opposite. Service was fast, but couldn't eat mine, so gave it away later.

Staff was wonderful, friendly and paced just right. Didn't feel rushed but didn't feel forgotten either. Pot stickers were delicious! The decor is dated but isn't bad. It gives it more of an authentic off the beaten path feeling. I have no complaints. The main dish didn't wow me, otherwise I'd give it a 5 star. But I'd definitely return.

Google
No frills, authentic, delicious, fresh, Thai food. The atmosphere won't impress but that adds to the charm in my opinion. It reminds me of some of the stellar spots in Thai Town (Hollywood) which have the same low key appearance but fantastic food. This is now my new favorite Thai in Boise.

Yelp
I live in Seattle, but was in Boise, where I am from originally, to visit family and friends. Chiang Mai House was a favorite when I lived in Boise and I wanted to take my friend there. I have no idea what all these recent bad reviews are for, and they made me a bit hesitant to go back, but I am happy to report that I have no idea what these people are talking about. It is still the best Thai place around. It is even better than any of the Thai places I've been to in Seattle. I had previously taken my friend to Pad Thai House, as it was another place I used to go to when I lived in Boise, but the last time we were there, we ordered 5 stars and had to send it back because it wasn't even spicy. The Panang Curry was much thinner there as well. Chiang Mai House is the only place I've been to that makes Panang Curry with the correct thickness and right amount of spice. A LOT of Thai places are skimping out on the spice lately, as well as making their Panang Curry as thin as soup. Not Chiang Mai. Chiang Mai Panang Curry is thick, rich, savory, and when you order it 5 stars, you get it 5 stars. They can even go hotter than that, if you want. They told me one guy went up to 10. I told them I'll try 6 or 7 next time. The color of the curry is very red, with lot of visible flakes of Thai chili peppers (unless you didn't order it spicy), not this thin, pale, watered down, mostly coconut milk, barely any curry or spice, crap that most of the other Thai restaurants are serving these days. I'm shocked I haven't been able to find a place in Seattle with as good of Panang Curry as Chiang Mai. All of the other places' curries are too thin, and even the spiciest one is not as spicy as Chiang Mai. Most of them are skimping out on authentic Thai spices and ingredients. The only thing I was disappointed in was that they no longer have Thai eggplant. They said the customers didn't like it, so they stopped having it. I did like it and it was authentic, so I did miss that, but overall, they are still making the best Thai food I have found anywhere. It was as good as it was when I last lived there, over 10 years ago. I would highly recommend Chiang Mai House, and the Panang Curry.

Yelp
Has been 7-years since my last review and although I have been back several times since, today's experience diverged significantly from past. 11:30 on a Tuesday, no one else in the restaurant which I found odd as I used to wait for a seat years ago. Note: One addition patron showed up to dine 20-min later and 1 take out order. Soup was not hot and barely warm. The flavor was good but the temp was an issue. We ordered an appetizer (Cha-Gio) now $9 and it seemed like it was reheated from yesterday. The lettuce (which you are supposed to wrap the Cha-Gio) was wilted and towards the core, didn't eat it. Highway robbery :0 The lunch was okay, but not what I remembered. The fried chicken was soggy with way too much sauce. Sadly, last visit to Chiang Mai. Like an Ex, I will remember you for what you "were" (5) and try to forget what you have "become" (2). P.S. wait person was friendly and service was prompt which is why they get a (2) and not the dreaded (1).

Yelp
If y'all care about your life , DO NOT I REPEAT, DO NOT EAT HERE . You can't see the back of the house , but I seen the disgusting filth these people work with. Absolutely disgusting. Mice infestation, droppings , thawed out meat that has been out for a while and still being cooked . Don't understand how OSHA hasn't done its due diligence at this place. 2022 was the last time the water filters were cleaned.

Yelp
This is my first Yelp review--I actually created an account just to share my experience. My family has been ordering from this restaurant for over a year, and they've always brought home delicious food, so I had high hopes. I decided to dine in for my boyfriend's birthday, expecting a great meal. But unfortunately it didn't live up to expectations. Right from the start, we felt rushed to place our orders. I ordered the larb, which is a Lao meat salad, and I had asked for it to be with sticky rice. However, my dish arrived without it. I had to ask the server twice, and it wasn't until much later (when we also asked for napkins and drink refills) that we were finally told there was no sticky rice available. On the menu it provides that sticky rice is able to be ordered. It was frustrating and disappointing, especially since sticky rice is such an essential part of the meal for authenticity (I am Laotian). Why offer it if you will not make it or prepare ahead of time for it? In addition to this, we ordered egg rolls and the server clarified we wanted the ones with meat, and not the vegetable ones. Unfortunately we received the vegetable egg rolls. After we received our food, no one checked in on us again. We would have to call the server over for the fee things we needed and it felt like we were nagging her. After eating, we waited 30 minutes for the check and ended up clearing our own table just to help out, as we had a fair amount of dishes. Ultimately, we had to go up to the server to request the bill. For a $90 meal, the service and experience left a lot to be desired. All in all the server was nice, just not very attentive. The food was decent but sadly, this experience has likely changed mine and my family's opinion of this place. We'll probably stop ordering from here, which is really unfortunate given how much we used to enjoy their food.

Yelp
THIS PLACE IS GARBAGE. SUB PAR FOOD AND CUSTOMER SERVICE IS NON EXSISTENT. I WOULD GIVE 0 STARS IF I COULD. THEY DON'T DESERVE A STAR IN ANY CATEGORY. Server was rude. They spilled a good portion of my soup all over the table. Never got silverware, had to go get it myself. I ordered hot and sour soup, server ordered egg flower and tried to sell me the egg flower as hot and sour. I didn't realize hot and sour was yellow. I Served hot and sour soup for years. You can't pull that bullshit on me. Never checked up on us, pretty much walked by us and carried on. Ordered soup #12 was ok. Ordered soup #13 it was basically coconut milk with oil. Hot and sour soup was alright. I would recommend going to another Thai restaurant like Thai Basil or Bangkok Thai. I would not spend a dime in this place. Not worth spending your hard earned money here. Side note - thank you to the young lady with the textured curly hair for helping us. You were the only nice this about this establishment.

Yelp
Holy pandemic! Before Covid-19 struck, Chiang Mai House was one of the liveliest lunch spots in Boise. Workers from nearby businesses crowded in and many times latecomers waited for a table to open up. No more. When I arrived before noon, I was the only one there. I should have known something was up when they offered me a booth. When I worked nearby and came in nearly once a week, because I was by myself they only offered me a table. During my time there today, only one other party came in. I was saddened to see the center seating section filled with junk. A large cardboard box with to-go food containers was on the floor, while the table next to it had a box of papers and other assorted stuff. They apparently aren't using that section. On the table closest to the host stand, a partially burned cigarette had been discarded. I can't believe that isn't a health violation. Only one of the waitresses from when I was a regular was there. She showed no recognition, even though she had served me dozens of times before the pandemic. The food was ok. But after seeing the rest, it kind of took my appetite away. Sadly, this will be the last time I visit Chiang Mai House.

Yelp
Excellent Thai! It's a family run restaurant with nice service! This is a neighborhood type restaurant that is comfortable.

Yelp
The Pad Thai & Pad Kra Pao was to die for! Authentic Thai food at an affordable price - will absolutely be back!

Yelp
Several years ago this was a great restaurant, however times have changed. Interior is in serious need of cleaning. Dusty dirty vents. Water spotted ceilings. Ordered the pad thai and was very disappointed. Very little flavor. Certainly do not recommend spending your hard earned money here.

Yelp
We loved this spot! The food is excellent. Our favorite are the pad Thai, pad kra pao, and pad see ew, so yummy. The service was great and we will definitely eat here many times in the future.

Yelp
The night started with Larb salad. From the Issan (border with Laos) tradition of Thai cuisine, it is not really a green leafy salad, but more a meat and greens salad. It is a wonderful way to start your meal along with possibly som tam (Green Papaya Salad). Both som tam and larb share a certain spiceness which can be adjusted. There are times when we just order one of each for a dinner for two. Both come with a generous bowl of white rice at this place. The minced pork is wonderfully seasoned with fish sauce, chili flakes, lime juice, thinly sliced red onion, toasted sticky rice to give it some crunchy texture and a wonderful assortment of fresh herbs (like basil) to bring it all together. The pork (or chicken or beef) is piled high atop iceberg lettuce and sliced cucumbers. The spiciness (heat) of the pork is offset with the coolness and crunch of the lettuce/cucumber bed. Requesting pork will give you the chewiness and porkiness that really separates it from beef or chicken. This version is a ONE pepper on the heat scale at this restaurant, but it can be toned down to mild on request. For those who have not experienced Larb or Som Tam, this would be a perfect place to sample it. Start with the toned down setting on the heat. Two thumbs up on this dish. Another dish we had was the Pad Thai only because that is the most ordered dish by non-Asian people. After many visits to Bangkok and Chiang Mai in Thailand, there is no spice level or dish we have not tasted. I prefer the dish to cause my eyes to water and my forehead to break out in a sweat when the item is just placed on the table. That happens in Thailand from just the vapor released from a proper spicy dish. This pad thai was not spicy, but was acceptable and average. Simple, good flavor, but nothing life-altering. The final dish was Pad Kee Mao which is flat noodles and we got the shrimp as the protein along with a 3 peppers rating on their scale of 1-5 at this establishment. The big noodles are more capable of absorbing the peppers than the more delicate other dishes. A level of 3 peppers brought it up to the level of 1 pepper with the larb. It was a very tasty dish with a delicious sauce. Chiang Mai House will get more of our business as we venture through more of the menu.

Yelp
I came in on my lunch break from work and it was so worth it. Great and fast service, large well-priced dishes, and yummy food. Chili oil was very mild, so if you want spicy you'll have to ask!

Yelp
My go-to dish is Tum Yum Soup! I always ask for a to-go container and they said when you order you can say you just want one bowl and they can put the rest in a container. I always say I will do this but I love getting my soup in the bowl with the burner burning (two size options on the menu). Makes me feel fancy and for some reason I like feeling like I am scooping soup out of a fountain. (This dish is heavy on the mushrooms.) In addition to my soup, the Crab Rangoons are the best here! An order of these or Spring Rolls will get you nice and full with tons of leftovers. But sometimes I like to eat them all and feel extra full. They are that good that you don't want to/can't stop! The curries are acceptable but I think the Tum Yum Soup always catches my eye first. The curries aren't as thick as I like, they tend to run a bit more watery. Flavors are still great! Always friendly and always willing to accommodate adjustments to my orders. I have done both pick-up and dine-in and either option you get prompt service. Yes!

Yelp
I've been going here for the last 15 years or so. The food is great. Sometimes when they get new servers the service can be hit or miss. The ambiance is usually quiet and relaxed. Alex and grandma are the best, very friendly and helpful. Highly recommend checking them out for your Thai food needs.

Yelp
Thai food is my favorite food and Chiang Mai is easily my favorite Thai restaurant out of all the ones I've been to. There's no way around it. This place is fantastic. I get takeout from here about 3 times a week since I live in the area. It doesn't get old since the menu is so large. Plenty of fantastic options. You can't go wrong with this place; there are few restaurants out there that I feel like I can say that about. Do yourself a favor and go check out this spot. The staff's awesome too. My favorites: Pad See ew, Yellow Curry, Pad Phrik Khing

Yelp
Travelling in the States includes at least one Thai meal! Being one of the first exotic ethnic food to be loved by the American general public, Thai Cuisine has always kept its high standard in this country. One would think that Thai Cuisine in Idaho may

Yelp
We have previously enjoyed eating at this place, but unfortunately they have hired one of the most Discourteous, Impolite, Ungracious hostess at the register. She lied about being closed, couldn't even look us in the eye when she lied through her teeth. When we called her attention that they had the sign that said there was over an hour before closing, she just gave us the side-eye. She just ignored us and went on with whatever she was doing, just completely ignoring us. We had driven quite a ways to come and eat here and to be treated in such a standoffish, unpleasant way by this unprofessional person is unacceptable. I even wonder if the owner knows she's turning people away to go home earlier than the posted business hours. :(

Yelp
So the menu is huge!!! But don't let that dissuade you from coming. They have Chinese and Thai dishes, and everything we ordered for our large party was AMAZING. Highly recommend the potstickers. We also had the crab Rangoons, Pad Thai with shrimp (cooked perfectly!), spring rolls, general chicken, kung pow chicken, broccoli beef, wonton soup, and shrimp fried rice. We have tried other Thai and Chinese restaurants in greater Boise area, and this place blew them all out of the water. We will definitely be back.

Yelp
First time eating here. The fresh rolls were very good 10/10. Tried the chiang mai fried rice 7.5/10 and the pad Thai was kind of sweet even though we asked for it medium spicy 8.5/10. I also tried the sweet sticky rice with mango but I forgot to take a picture. Very good 9/10 The service was good. They have limited seating. Servers wear masks. Will come back!

Yelp
My favorite Thai place in Boise! Perfect flavors and always the right amount of spice!!

Caitlin M.

Yelp
I used to LOVE this place. Ordered take out pad thai and crab Rangoons. Pad thai was bland with no spice and mild flavors otherwise and im not sure what the rangoons filling was this time. Almost chalky. For almost $25 i expect a lot better then what I received. Also they do not do online orders even though when you look it up on Google it tells you you can and you can even go through and pay for a meal they do not prepair. They are not accommodating that way at all. Isn't until you get to the restaurant that they tell you they don't do online orders. No other warnings are given. Needs to do something about that. Overall not a great experience and will not be going back unfortunately.

Yelp
I used to have a Thai roommate when I lived in Seattle and he would take me out to authentic Thai restaurants and he would sometimes cook for me and my friends. Having said that, I know my Thai food. Ha! I'd say Chiang Mai Thai Restaurant is up there. My go-to Thai entree is Pad Kra Pao, and Chiang Mai's is pretty decent. My only complaint is that there's NOT a lot of meat. They seem to overdo it with mushrooms and bell peppers which is fine if you're a veggie kind of person. But I'm used to Pad Kra Pao that is meat-heavy and I prefer it that way. I've also tried their Pad Prik Pao. Similar thing. They overdo it with bamboo shoots and onions. I've also tried their Pad See Ew, Mongolian Beef, and BBQ Pork Fried Rice (not exactly Thai). They're all decent. Their Thai iced tea tastes good though, but make sure to ask them to reduce the ice. It's a common trick I've noticed everywhere. They tend to use a ridiculous amount of ice, leaving a small room for the Thai tea. I recently tried their Katium-prik Thai (stir-fry meat or tofu with garlic on top of bed of lettuce; pictured) and I am overly satisfied with the portion and the taste. I'm a sucker for garlic so the dish is perfect for my palate. I think I may have found my new go-to Thai entree!

Yelp
The quality used to be phenomenal, but now quite disappointing given the price increase for mediocre quality. We did a to-go order for chicken larb, spare ribs, fried fish and shrimp stir fry for a total of $72 including credit fees, taxes, $3 tip and whatever hidden fees they have. The larb was dry and fried fish was unbearably crispy that the fish meat was hard all around. Overall, I think the family dinners are worth it if you have time to eat there, but no more to go orders for us from here.

Yelp
The Chaing Fried rice was so good. It was made fresh and it was mixed with shrimp and pork.

Yelp
Fantastic hidden gem in non-descript strip of shops and restaurants surrounding Emerald Lanes bowling alley. While it happens to be my favorite Thai restaurant in Boise, it was only my second dinner venture away from the lunch menu, and well worth the experience! I normally choose between three dishes, but strayed from my usual, and ordered the dinner for two. First thing to note, the portions are enough for two average adults and two small kids, but you would have to fight for the crab rangoon and egg rolls as the meal comes with two apiece. Both were fried to a perfect, golden crispness, and the sweet and spicy dipping sauce complemented both. Next up was the Tom Kah Kai soup, which balanced sweet and spicy in their creamy, broth. The chicken pieces were tender, and mushrooms sliced in varying thickness provided a nice texture. My one complaint would be the slivers of tough lemongrass, and chunks of Thai chilis that should have been strained out. The fried rice served with their lunch entrees, doesn't do justice to their dinner version. At night, the dish is a giant plateful of the usual veggies, and then tossed with big chunks of bbq pork, bean sprouts, and mushrooms carmelized in flavor imparted from their seasoned wok. The pad prik king is not unlike their lunch version, with bellpeppers, asian beans, zucchini, and beef dressed in a moderately spicy, red chili flavored sauce-one of my regular favorites. Finally, the highlight dish, was their yellow curry with chicken and bamboo shoots swimming in a sweet, creamy curry sauce. While not normally a fan of yellow curry, this dish had the perfect blend of coconut milk, yellow curry, and a hint of spice and sweetness. Overall, my meal was well worth the splurge ($19 per person) due to the large portions, and fantastic mouth-watering, euphoria- inducing experience!

Yelp
Our server peung was super sweet and very attentive, she kept checking in on us and double checked when we what we ordered. I would recommend the drunken noodles. They were amazing!
google avatar

Yelp
Delicious and authentic Thai food. We had the pad see ew, basil beef and pot stickers. All was tasty! Only gave it 4 stars, instead of 5, because the restaurant felt a little dirty, unorganized and it didn't seem to have any AC and it's 100+ degrees outside.
google avatar

Wendy C.

Yelp
We were starving after floating down the Boise river and we came here because Pad Thai house wasn't accepting anymore orders for the night and we're so glad! The pad kee mao was made with jalapeños instead of bell peppers and I liked it so much better! Usually bell peppers make it too sweet for me so this version had the perfect mix of salty and spicy.

Kevin M.

Yelp
Needs an update, deep cleaning, and more flavor for the food. Thai cooking is a complex blend of flavors; this was soy sauce. Give this place a pass

Yelp
Today's visit with my Wife, and In-Laws, was "A Tale of Two Cities". We really enjoyed our food--ordering the "Lunch Specials"--but our service was despicable. If you choose to dine there, make sure you don't get Roxy as your Waitress! She's a rather large, dark woman, probably Samoan or similar, fully tatted with a bad attitude. I would have walked out with her first snide comment, but my party was hungry after traveling all day. When I asked for a Sake, she said, "Tear that page of drink out; we don't have any". I asked why. She replied, "Why is it your concern?". Not good. Then when a second person in our party asked for lemons for our water, she shot back, "This is the third ask, does anyone else want to ask me next?". Then when I asked about the fried rice option with the lunch special, she replied, "We ran out. You should have gotten here earlier". Finally, I asked about the soup. She curtly replied, "We're out of that too". The whole time she had a bad attitude and didn't really want to serve us. Finally, after the third insult, we decided to just eat the food (it was really tasty!), and get out of there. With several Thai food options in the Boise area, we'll never return. Thanks, Roxy, for a miserable experience.

Yelp
Boise really lacks a lot of good options when it comes to Asian cuisine. Thankfully Chiang Mai fulfills SE Asia cravings. They do a commendable job of mimicking traditional Thai dishes. The service is attentive and fast. What they lack in ambiance in their strip mall location, they make up for in wide smiles and steaming hot food. Lunch options come with a bowl of daily soup and a side of rice. I go for the simple stuff: garlic chicken on a bed of lettuce. Delicious and consistent! Best soup? Tom Kah Kai. Lemongrass and coconut milk make for a flavorful meal. Hands down, this place has the best chili heat in town. If you like to cry while you dine, go for a four or five star spicy level. Just make sure you have plenty of napkins!

Yelp
Chang Mai a mussaman curry is so good I forgot to take a picture of it. Perfect spice, wonderfully fried tofu and potatoes that melt in your mouth. Beware: once you taste the Mussaman you may never try anything else again!

SuzAnna W.

Yelp
When meeting my son for dinner, he chose Chiang Mai House Thai. I would not have chosen this location based upon the outside appearance. I'm so glad that I trusted his recommendation because this place is great. The wait staff are fun and friendly. Service can be a little slow, but on the other hand we never feel rushed. The waitress helped me chose the best spice level for me (3). The others were happily feeling the heat at levels 4 and 5. Their hot and sour soup is amazing and a pot is more than enough for 4 of us to share.

Yelp
I used to love Chiang Mai, but it has been several years since I had been in person, and while since I'd ordered to go. A party of 4 of us went in Sunday night- the prices were affordable, the appetizers were really good, fried tofu was delicious, so was the soup. And then I found a hair on my plate. I cast it off as my own & kept going. Our entrees were quite delayed getting out to us due to a large party they served ahead of us (who came in after us) and they were very busy with to go orders. I ordered the mandarin spicy chicken. It was not spicy, it was overcooked and had been sitting a while, even the breading was coming off and it was soggy so I returned it to the kitchen. The pad se ew was not as listed, the green beans were wrinkled & almost looked freezer burnt. The green curry was under flavored - then we found another hair. It was definitely not ours as it was at the bottom of the curry dish and we saw it when we were putting it in the to go container. These were noticeable, long dark hairs. They did comp my chicken and the curry which was nice of them, but I didn't take any of leftovers. One of our guests at my table did take theirs home though. We also had to fill or own waters as they were literally empty and we had food to eat & no one came by our table to do so. We were there about 2 hours. I really hope this was a fluke, but honestly, I won't be back anytime soon, there are other good and clean Thai restaurants in the area to frequent. I hate writing reviews like this but feel it's important to share my honest opinion as you choose where to dine!

Yelp
I was craving Thai summer rolls. Had I not remembered reading some decent Yelp reviews for this place I would have passed it by given the location in a seedy strip mall. Bottom line from our experience: Chiang Mai isn't a bad place to stop if you're in the area for food that is Southeast Asian or Chinese in concept if not authentic in execution. It isn't a place we'll go back to again but glad we tried it. Once. Let's start with the GOOD THINGS:. 1) Summer rolls were freshly filled and expertly rolled. I would have been a bigger fan if they contained some SE Asian herbs in the mix, like cilantro, Thai basil and mint instead of only lettuce as the greens element. I liked the dipping sauce served with them was a vinegar tart, sweet, salty offering (although not fish sauce prominent as one might find for traditional nuac cham) instead of peanut sauce. I used red chili paste on the table to add spicy heat to the mix. 2) Very friendly service. It seemed virtually a wave of people were leaving through the narrow entry as we tried to enter just after 1:00 and we had the then advantage of few tables being occupied and attentive servers. Food was delivered promptly with hot food served hot and cold food served cold. 3) Decent seating options including booths with elephant pattern woven tablecloths topped with glass or formica topped tables and chairs all at standard height. 4) Music selection on the sound system of rock ancients like Jim Morrison and Mick Jagger. (Embarrasingly, I know all the lyrics to all the songs and wanted to sing along.) Set at at a low enough level to know it was there but not to override all else. 5) Prices were low ($19 before tax for three dishes at lunch) and servings were large. But I'd rather have higher prices and smaller servings of better food. Now the 'NOT SO MUCH' things: 1) Like many Thai restaurants in the area the menu seems an amalgam of Chinese - American and Thai items with the latter tamed down from the robust flavors I have enjoyed at Thai restaurants in cities like Portland, San Franciso, Las Vegas or even my former hometown of Bend. For a city of Bosie's size it is surprising to find so many Asian restaurants don't "pick a lane and drive in it" for authentic food. 2) The food is just OK "minus". Pad Thai is one of those dishes I am almost ashamed to hear myself order as it is sometimes so poorly done, but when it is well made it is a treasure. It was on the lunch menu here and so I ordered it as a good litmus test for any Thai restaurant which arguably ought to get this rice noodle dish right. (Like say an Italian restaurant's ability to turn out spaghetti marinara right.) This was not the worst Pad Thai I've ever had, but it was not good either. My husband veered to a Chinese food item selecting Hoonan (not a typo, that is how it appeared on menu) vegetables. The mix of veggies, which included bok choy, napa cabbage and pea pods, was cooked to just right toothsome doneness. Oversauced, but that seems to be a trend in Chinese - American food service, with too much soy sauce in the mix of things, another trend, and just barely a hint of the Hunan heat as promised on the menu. 3) The infrastructure of the restaurant looks like it is falling apart, from the parking lot through the door and all around. Which may be nothing the restaurant owners can do anything about unless they own the building. 4) Getting in the door can be a challenge at the narrow entry as people are going out and you are coming in given they have a host station set up as "traffic stop". It is awkward and uninviting. This they could fix. THIS N THAT: 1) PARKING: The ramshakle lot shows looks rode hard and put away wet, but it is a lot with parking and that is a good thing in spite of the condition. 2) NEIGHBORS: Bar to the left, Asian Market 2 to the right. The latter is an interesting place if you're trying to find some harder to find SE Asian ingredients like shrimp paste or a choice of half a dozen plus brands of fish sauce. 3) ACCESSIBILITY: One blue wheelchair marked spot in the entire lot is outside the Asian Market. It is not van accessible. Restaurant is level in and throughout. Table seating is standard height. Adequate path of travel to several tables.

Yelp
Normally, Chiang Mai is super flavorful and has fast friendly service but today wasn't the case. The Cha Gior was overcooked and the lettuce was obviously old and wilty. The Pad Woonsen had very little flavor and the chicken was also over cooked. The service was extremely slow and hurried when they were taking our order or bringing our meal. We'll be back but going to give it a bit.

Yelp
Best Thai food in Boise. We have had Thai food in 24 states, 5 countries and 10 locations in Boise/Nampa/Meridian. This is the best in Idaho. Pad April King is to die for. Pad Thai is my wife's favorite. Other dishes are all great. Ambiance is not the best but come for the great food and the good service.

Yelp
On my long drive from Portland to Twin Falls, I was really craving some Asian food, so I stoped in Boise to have some comfort food. I can only comment on the two dishes that I got! When I asked for the papaya salad, they asked Thai or Laotian? Immediately, I thought to myself, SCORE!!! It has to be good if they can make both! Obviously, I got the Laotian one, extra spicy! It was sooooo good! Reminds me of home! My comfortable seek soul was satisfied! The simple chicken noodle soup was so Americanized, I could barely make it out - bean-thread noodles, corn, peas, onions? It was a little strange but it was fine. I got a simple soup!

Yelp
Dirty business. I dined solo and ordered a dinner for two because I was very hungry. They charged me TWO dinner for two meals even though I only ordered one. They tried to rationalize charging me double even though the SAME amount of food was served. Whether one person ordered it or two people ordered it, it should be the same price. This was not mentioned anywhere on their menu and the server didn't mention that either. I left feeling totally ripped off and I will not be coming here ever again.

Yelp
The fried rice is amazing here! Prices are good too. Highly recommend if you are in the area.

Yelp
Bad apple waitress. Food was delicious, plated beautifully. We had a large group and felt lucky they would accommodate us when asked earlier that same day. I will absolutely never return to this restaurant though due to the one waitress (you can find many reviews here and on google detailing her terrible behavior). This was absolutely over the top - telling us we get what we get when she messed up some orders, Rude and forceful-everyone in our party was patient and kind about it until she started nearly verbally abusing us and then proceeded to SCREAM OBSCENITIES for a prolonged period of time, very clearly using the "F" word repeatedly, at the cook. The food was coming out at a fine rate and tasted good, we are a very laid back group and did not expect to have chain restaurant service. The most out of control, ridiculous employee I've encountered anywhere. I feel bad for the other employees and have no idea why she is still there or they are still there enduring her abuse. Her episode caused another waitress to drop an entire to go order, spilling it all over the floor. She needs help. Worst restaurant experience EVER.

Yelp
Our family's favorite night out. Massaman curry with tofu or chicken and volcano with seafood are both awesome! Staff is like family.

Yelp
A Boise staple! Authentic flavors from around the Siam peninsula. Pad kra pow, curries, learn, Tom yum goong, all of it is excellent!

Yelp
I've been here a few time and had relatively good experiences but decided to go out of my comfort zone today and order something new - the orange chicken. It tasted like chicken drowned in honey and all of the breeding had fallen off before I could even pick it up with my fork. Good news is the appetizers are solid.

Yelp
All I can say is I love this place but I wish it was closer to my house, I'd eat there often if it was. Don't get to that area very much. Definitely the best Thai I've had in the Treasure Valley. I've probably been to at least 5 other places. The other places just don't compare.

Yelp
Awesome Thai food with great service! We ordered a little bit of everything and all of our food was delicious. It is decently priced, large servings, and comes out quick! We have been looking for good Thai food since moving to Boise and we just found our new spot!

Yelp
Boise Asian food strikes again... My friend and I got take out, Phad Thai and Phad Kee Mao. The noodle textures were off, not soft enough, and the flavors were a bit understated: not enough basil in the Kee Mao and too little sweetness in the Phad Thai. I feel like my kid let me down; I'm not mad. Just disappointed. Probably, idk I don't have kids. Plenty spicy though, with generous amounts of tender meat and big portions.
