We enjoyed the beautiful decor, the quiet and clean environment, the attentive service, and the yummy food. Portion is pretty big, too. The art on the wall was unique. We had a good time.

So glad we stopped in to Chiang Mai! They just opened up a month and a half ago, but it seems like they already have it together. We walked in to beautiful Thai music playing, with plenty of plants and fresh flowers adorning the tables. The menu was quite large with an entire vegan section. Given the name of the establishment, I had to order one of the noodle dishes. I chose the Coconut Curry Noodle. I was skeptical at first, given it had an entire chicken leg and I don’t like bones, but the meat fell right off the bones and was moist and delicious. The broth was divine too! The portions were great, and I gave some to my partner to help me finish it. 10/10 Definitely will come back to try something new!

I was surprised to come across this place and really confused by this place. The exterior and interior decorations were beautiful and reminded me of Chiang Mai, however; the food looked monochromatic but was exploding with flavor!

Great lunch special. Flavors in the pad kee mow were well balanced, fresh ingredients, and good sized proportions. Restaurant has a charming atmosphere and the service was incredible.

Since the restaurant is new to the area, I decided to give it a try. I walked in 50 minutes before closing, intending to place a takeout order. The server immediately told me it had to be to-go, which was fine but then asked what I wanted before I even had a chance to see the menu. When I said I needed a minute, she replied that she’d have to check with the cook to see if I could order at all. With nearly an hour left until closing, that response was off-putting. I chose to leave and take my business elsewhere. I've never had such a negative first impression, especially from a new restaurant. With service like that, I can’t imagine it lasting long. Good luck.

Wife and I came in for an early dinner on Friday to check out the new place. We got the pineapple fried rice and the fried fish with papaya salad. The rice was exactly how we like it and the best we've had on the island! Fried fish was satisfyingly crispy and papaya was refreshing. Definitely recommend!

Google
walked by this spot and decided to dine in this incredibly tasty new restaurant in alameda! the owner was so sweet and the food came out fresh, delicious, and fast. the beef salad was my favorite but every dish was so well done and complex in flavor. the restaurant’s ambiance and decor is also super nice, it would be great for larger parties as well. would highly recommend!

Google
As a Thai Esan American I can say that this place food is legit and delicious. Highly recommend if you are looking for authentic Thai food. Yum!!! Plus owners and servers are very friendly and welcoming :)

Yelp
Came here with a group of 8, we found street parking nearby and walked over. My friend got us a reservation but I don't think we actually needed it as the restaurant was pretty empty when we got there. Service was pretty on-point. We ordered a few appetizers to share, we got the Thai sausage and chicken satay. Both very good, juicy. Would order again. I was curious about the garlic noodles and was pleasantly surprised. Very nicely cooked and a great portion. Wound up taking it home and having leftovers. Would definitely come back!

Yelp
They sat us even though we came here 40 minutes from closing. The interior looks really nice. I like their whole setup. What I didn't like was the huge mosquito(es). I killed one and dang it was big! I tried their signature dish Nam Ngeyow. It reminded me a little bit of Bun Rieu since it also had a tomato based broth. I love how different cultures use similar ingredients and still bring out different flavors. The pork rinds added some nice texture and savory flavor. I wish they gave more pork blood though. My wife ordered their crispy pork belly pad thai. The pork belly wasn't crispy. It may have been overcooked. The overall pad thai was good though. We liked this one more than May Thai Kitchen.

Yelp
My daughter and I decided to have lunch on a Sunday after the Alameda Point Antique Market. The restaurant is located downtown of Alameda. The ambience is quaint with lanterns decoration... very cute! Our host/server was very attentive. We had the cucumber salad... it was crunchy and delicious. My daughter ordered the combination beef soup. It was bold of flavor and sooooo good. The beef was tender. I had an issue with my entree and our server apologized and replaced it with another dish. Great customer service. Please support your local family business while visiting Alameda. Side Note: The kitchen can be a bit noisy and loud... LOL!!!
google avatar

Lauren C.

Yelp
Ample clean seating area. We were feeling in the mood for some hot soup on a chilly night so we came for some noodle soups here. The combination beef and chicken leg stew soups were the best with the beef especially having tender meat with robust flavor in the broth. The pad see ew and the combination pork were just ok, think I'd pass on these next time. Service was friendly and fast though.

Yelp
Chiang Mai Thai Noodle opened in Lao Station's space. Same decor, basically same owners. New menu showcasing Chiang Mai Thai eats. Offerings: classics, lunch specials, noodles, salads, rice plates, fish, sides, appetizers, fried rice, soup, Curry, vegan, grills, No server present when i entered. Had to ask kitchen for assistance. Found residual lao dishes. Ordered. Came out in 10ish minutes. Bites: mod tod (18.50) -deep fried marinated pork belly with lemongrass. Crunchy with tender leanish pork belly within. Dipping sauce had pungent Housemade Lao anchovy sauce & lime juice.. -came with sticky rice: so much better than regular jasmine rice. Another version had basa fish-passed on that. -also small dap of mixed green salad. All yummy. Papaya lao style spicy (16.50) -only slightly spicy from chilies. Fermented anchovy missing from lime juice. Deconstructed items of schredded papaya, carrot schreds, tomato, green beans, Vermicelli noodles, fried pork skin & salted crab had to be mixed together. -inform waitress who arrived late of missing anchovy sauce. I dumped all of it & a few spurts from fish sauce bottle. Took it home. Pleased to discover anchovy sauce very pungent. Ate it all. *later my colon discharged twice with "deep cleanse"... 4.5 stars though there were miscues, the food issue was solved. May repeat to try "classics". *forgot 15% off for soft opening was in effect... Lots of seating...

Yelp
I had a very nice lunch here with my husband today. We got the eggplant lunch special which comes with an appetizer and salad, the khao soi gai, and mango sticky rice. Everything was delicious. The khao soi was so flavorful. The mango sticky rice had just the right ratio of mango, coconut sauce, and sticky rice. This spot will be my go-to for khao soi from now on. I used to go to San Francisco, but now I don't need to anymore.
google avatar

Patrick L.

Yelp
Chiang Mai has a large menu with a lot of traditional dishes to choose from. I got a classic Khao soi noodle dish. Very flavorful, but not too salty at the same time. I was able to finish to soup and contents so it was the perfect amount. Definitely want to come back and try some other dishes.

Yelp
Congrats on your 2 week new business. Grand opening/soft opening weeks. 15% discount during their grand opening days! Quality/Quantity - Yen Ta Fo, Seafood Soup - My wife really enjoyed this. Decent portion, decent quantity of seafood. Chicken Pad See Ew - My daughter's usual order, she also enjoyed this. It was "wetter" than normal. Combination Pork - Something different for me. Wanted to try a signature dish. It was good, everyone liked it. And even with the different types of noodles this dish came in. Lunch specials are also available. Atmosphere - Small local business. We were fans of the previous restaurants also. I think it's similar if not very similar decor. Indoor and outdoor seating, see pictures. Semi open kitchen. Two unisex bathrooms. Service - As with any new business, the team and systems are new, so be patient. The owner was friendly and working hard, and also working out the bugs. Call buttons on tables, see pictures. Basically a "doorbell" to the team in the kitchen that we need service. Price - $48 + tip. Owner Comment - Congrats again on your success with this new restaurant. See you soon.

Yelp
Warm welcoming staff and a hefty menu of typical Thai dishes, but check out their specialities! Lanna style larb - offal meets larb, oh so good especially with the textural pork intestines strewn throughout, good amount of heat, so beware. Also loved the e-San sausage - sour fermented fattiness, so satisfying. Yen Ta Fo - seafood noodles - did the dry style, good but probably would not order again, I think I expected different noodles and a different flavor - tasted like tomato-y watered down sriracha. Everything was flavorful and housemade - even the dressing on the side salads. Will be a go-to in the future, look forward to trying out other items on their menu. Clean space and loved the 'living' wall and plant babies in the front!

Yelp
Since moving back to Alameda, I've been on a mission to try out different local spots and keep eyeing this place every time we drive past. Well we finally got to try it out today, and it did not disappoint! The restaurant itself is pretty small, but cute and homey, with colorful lanterns on the walls. For food, we got a pad thai with prawn, pad kee mao with chicken, and crab fried rice. Everything was really good! I'm a bit picky with the kind of veggies that come with pad kee mao or pad see ew - here it came with green beans, which was a nice touch. The star of the show for me though was the crab fried rice. It was soooo good, probably the best crab fried rice I've ever had. I think it's because they put shrimp paste in it. It's not super overpowering, but you can really taste it, and it gave the dish an extra umami flavor. Reminded me a lot of some viet dishes that my mom makes! There are so many Thai spots just on park street, but I would def come back and would love to try some other dishes!

Yelp
Cute and clean interior. Cozy ambiance. Outdoor patio available. Service with beautiful smile and sincere assistance. Server was very attentive without being intrusive. Food was also a highlight. Loved Shrimp mango salad, best taste among all I have tried ( there were many). The stewed pork was good as well. We will be back whenever we are in Alameda.

Yelp
WOW!!! I've found my new favorite Thai food place. I would even go as far to say that Chiang Mai Thai Noodle is the best Thai food spot on the Island, and definitely in my personal top 3 in the East Bay. Upon walking in, you are greeted with a long and open dining space, decked out with beautiful mirrors, rattan pendant lamps and interesting wall fixtures. It's cozy, and it's simplicity at its finest. The staff (and presumably the owner) were so welcoming, gentle, and kind! The kind of service and hospitality that you would want when causally dining out. Being that I've had tons of good Thai food all over the Bay Area, and up and down California, admittedly I wasn't sure what to expect from this place that seemed to have popped out of nowhere. In fact, I came to this location to try another restaurant only to find that it vacated the space which now is Chiang Mai Thai Noodle. I couldn't say no to trying a new Thai spot! The menu was robust, with lots of familiar favorites, and dishes I've only tried through friends who are deeply connected to their Thai roots and heritage. I was excited to see that they offered plenty of the plates and flavors that I've seen at some of my favorite Thai spots in Oakland. My table ordered: Pad Thai, Pad Kee Mao, Papaya Salad and Larb. Each item came out one by one, each time wowing my table in terms of size and presentation. Everything looked so fresh, and smelled AMAZING. This was a good sign. As we started digging into each item, we immediately declared this spot as one of the best--if anything, THE BEST--Thai food spot in Alameda. Outperforming Alameda favorites like Toomies and Monkey Thai, by a LONGSHOT. The flavors, cook and quality exceeded my expectations, hitting every single spot to leave me feeling like I had stumbled upon a new spot that I know will blow up. Let me say this again--this is THE BEST Thai food spot in Alameda--and definitely up there with some of the best Thai food spots in the East Bay for their delicious and authentic flavors that would please any Thai food lover! Don't miss out on this new gem!

Yelp
Discovered this new Thai spot on Park Street and decided to give it a try on Saturday night. We arrived around 7 PM, and it was pretty quiet, but the server was very friendly, and we were seated right away. We ordered Khao Soi (Chiang Mai curry chicken soup with yellow noodles), Pad Kee Mao (stir-fried flat noodles with bell peppers--we chose beef), and Moo Tod (deep-fried pork belly with lemongrass, served with sticky rice). Everything came out quickly and was absolutely delicious. While I'm not Thai, I'm a huge fan of Thai cuisine and visit Bangkok often, and I have to say their food is legit--great flavors, well-balanced spice, and very authentic. The service was attentive, and the restaurant's atmosphere was warm and inviting. Definitely a spot worth visiting! I will definitely be returning to try more of their noodle and rice dishes! On a side note, I left with a full belly and some leftovers, but I also accidentally left my phone on the bench. I didn't even realize it until the server rushed out and chased me down on Park Street to return it. This was especially kind of her, considering the restaurant had started getting busy, and she was the only one serving. She could have easily waited for me to return, but instead, she went out of her way to make sure I got my phone back. That level of service and kindness is a huge plus in my book!

Yelp
Chicken leg soup was delicious! We've been pleased both times we've been here. This location has had a lot of turnover. I hope Chiang Mai Thai Noodle stays!

Yelp
We took a group beer for my husband's birthday dinner. We had great service and the restaurant is very comfortable. I loved all the lanterns and feel a small place in Thailand. Even though the restaurant is long and narrow, there are many tables and you could do a fairly large party here. We ordered many dishes and everything was absolutely delicious. Will definitely come back.

Yelp
This restaurant is a little hard to spot driving by but was such a gem experiencing. Seating is large, service was so kind and polite. We ordered the pad thai with beef, chicken leg stew noodle, chicken curry noodle(kai soi gai), Thai iced tea, and basil seed mango. We loved each dish. Pad Thai with beef- meet was tender and dish was a solid pad thai noodle dish. Reasonable serving size 9/10 Chicken leg stew noodle- the chicken was so tender and soft. Broth and noodle was refreshing and we emptied it down. 9/10 Chicken curry noodle- the curry tasted like a coconut curry. Delicious curry and the noodle had a nice crunch from the fried topping and the slightly pickled vegetable. The chicken was once again deliciously tender and great with the curry. We packed the leftover curry to go to cook our own potatoes in- delish 10/10 Basil seed mango drink - tastes like mango juice and basil seeds. Not that special. Thai ice tea- loved this drink. Strong tea and sweetened perfectly for my preference. 10/10 Would come again

Yelp
Over 3 different visits we have tried the grilled chicken, pineapple fried rice, khao soi vegetarian, garlic noodle, pad thai, pad kee mao, and massaman curry. Every dish was super flavorful, had plenty of flavor, yummy, and delicious. We look forward to our next visit.

Yelp
My friend and I ended up here after finding out the place we wanted to ear at first was closed. I'm so glad we found this place! The restaurant was calm, clean, and the server was super friendly! The food was great, and the portions and prices were fair. I would definitely come back again.

Yelp
This place is delicious! Been here at least 4 times already. Beautiful ambiance, friendly staff and cook, bold flavors hard to find elsewhere. Crab fried rice and Gang Hung lay were my favorite! My new favorite Thai place!!
google avatar

Stephanie C.

Yelp
The food was incredible! We ordered the pad thai, chicken leg stew noodle, and chicken curry noodle for delivery. We got our food very quickly and it was still piping hot. The portions were very generous, my boyfriend and I were stuffed after our lunch and still had some leftover for dinner. Everything was incredibly flavorful, the chicken curry noodle I chose was especially rich and creamy and delicious. My boyfriend loved his chicken leg stew noodle, he said the broth had perfect flavor without being too heavy. The pad thai was deliciously refreshing and the noodles were perfectly chewy and springy. I can't wait to go to the restaurant in person and try other dishes. This post was made in connection with a Toast promotion.

Yelp
Such sweet and nice staff! We're not originally from the area, but came across this spot as it is still their grand opening. We got the Beef Curry Noodle and a Pad Thai (couldn't wait to dig in, so already took a few bites before the picture). The Beef Curry Noodle was like nothing I've had before. The curry flavor is rich and milky, in addition to the delicious beef shank. If you're looking for an authentic Pad Thai, this spot will not disappoint. Table setting was nice and clean. There was also decoration such as string lights, a big mirror, a little fountain that made the ambiance peaceful and fit for having conversations during the meal. Music wasn't loud and fit the Thai theme of the restaurant. Overall, great experience and great food.
google avatar

Monica L.

Yelp
I absolutely love the Kao Soi Gai and Kao Soi Nuer. The curry is perfect--it brings back memories of the curry my mom and grandma make, with a wonderful balance of sweet and savory flavors. I wonder if they can make a spicy version because I do like spicy food. I also enjoy the crispy noodles and the mix of different vegetables, which adds a great variety of textures and tastes. I highly recommend these dishes.

cynthia o.

Yelp
We came here on a whim and let me tell you Amazing food Great service Everything is so clean and has amazing flavors!
google avatar

Sasha V.

Yelp
After reading all the amazing reviews about delicious food, I decided to order a takeout. I got the Pad Thai Noodles with Chicken. I was so disappointed with it. It just lacked flavor, was super dry like not having enough sauce to cover the noodles. It was just bland. The pad Thai posted in the pictures here was no where near to the one I received. I don't think I'll be ordering again.
google avatar

Michelle R.

Yelp
I had a great experience for lunch. I got to choose fried tofu with peanut sauce as an appetizer. There were maybe ten portions for the main. I got the spicy eggplant, spicy. And it was spicy. I loved it! I'll definitely be back!
google avatar

Tania M.

Yelp
I love Thai food so we had to try this place last week. The food here was excellent. The flavors are well done and authentic. Everything we had was delicious. We'll be back and are excited to try even more dishes.
google avatar

Angelica C.

Yelp
First time here today, and the food was impeccable! We came in right before they closed, and they were able to accommodate us. The server was extremely friendly, nice, and helpful. Food came out quickly and was made with great quality and shareable portions. We ordered the pad see ew and the pad Thai, both were amazing dishes, and we would get them again with no hesitation. Will definitely be back!
google avatar

Ken C.

Yelp
Everything is all overcooked. The fried pork belly is bad. The noodle soup is blend. Not one thing here is good. I rather pay a bit more to other restaurants
google avatar

Natalie C.

Yelp
Service is excellent, cute little place. I was not a fan of the pad Thai (flavorless, oily, and overcooked imo) and the waitress got me a different dish on the house. The Praram the next day was amazing! I'm glad I gave this place a shot to turn it around!
google avatar

Nicole C.

Yelp
Absolutely fresh and delicious! Basil chicken fried rice. Generous portion, sweet lady serving. I see why they have 5* I'll be back, luckily I work near by.
google avatar

Doug D.

Yelp
Amazing. From the food quality to the speed of the food prep to the AMAZING kindness within service to the price. That's why we eat here usually once a week ... at least. So good and so kind. Do yourself a favor and eat here - you'll be glad you did!
google avatar

Yelp
I've only had the pad thai so far, but it's one of the best I've had here in Alameda. Will return back for more adventurous items soon.
google avatar

jeronimo c.

Yelp
The food and service was very good. The portions are very good and the location is very friendly for small or larger groups
google avatar

J C.

Yelp
Good pad see ew was a must for us and they hit the spot. Thai sausage was delicious, lemon grass fantastic. My kids LOVED the beef stew noodle soup. Surprise was how good the masssuman curry was, a lot more flavorful than I've had in some time. Definitely coming back!!

Julian S.

Yelp
I had takeout, so I won't comment about the ambience or service. But the food was great. Authentic northern Thai / Lao dishes. The deep-fried quail appetizer is delicious and not at all greasy. The pork larb is porkier than any other I've had in Cali -- they add more parts of the pig. Crushed chilies and sausage was fiery and satisfying. And I think the noodles are home made. Check it out!

Isobel H.

Yelp
We stopped here for lunch when visiting Alameda, it was fantastic. The restaurant is so quaint and the food was delicious. We got the lunch combos (Pad see ew and pad thai), great prices and large portions. Will definitely come back if we're in Alameda again.

John L.

Yelp
Seriously one of the best Thai dishes I've eaten. Their staff was soo friendly and supportive. Overall experience was amazing!!
google avatar

Samuel T.

Yelp
Been here twice now and both times were super delicious. Kao Soi and pad kee mao were stand outs. This place is new and you should support them.
google avatar

Brooke W.

Yelp
Really really good home style Thai food including many dishes from Northen Thailand you normally don't see on standard Thai American menus. Reasonably priced and super nice people.

Noah M.

Yelp
Delicious. The papaya salad sub mango, OMG a must try! Pad see ew was YUM YUM as well!

Zoya K.

Yelp
Delicious traditional Thai noodle dishes! Portions are a good size too! Service is excellent and the wait is short.
google avatar

Erin C.

Yelp
We've been here four times since they opened. Fantastic Thai food, our favorite on the island! Haven't had a bad dish here but our favorites are the Massaman curry and the garlic noodles. Highly recommend!

Linda N.

Yelp
Absolute gem of a restaurant on Park Avenue. The Khao Soi is spicy and delicious, as were the other dishes we shared.

Mikee S.

Yelp
This place is good, very good. The Moo Tod (Pork Belly) is one of the very best I have ever had. cooked to perfection, tasty, salty, tender, chewy. Wow. Can't wait to have that again, and the service is spot on. Thank you for coming to the neighborhood! Go check them out, you won't be disappointed.

Andrea N.

Yelp
Our waitress was so nice and attentive, the food was excellent, the place is very clean. I couldn't have asked for a better Sunday experience!

Aria A.

Yelp
Fabulous northern Thai, friendly service. Loved their Kao soi curry noodle! Flavors seemed strong and authentic, more than many Thai restaurants here.

Edward C.

Yelp
I came in for dinner soon after they opened. What a pleasant experience and surprise to find a new Thai gem on Park St! The pad Thai was succulent, tender and tangy. My partner had the garlic noodles with salmon and left with a big smile and full stomach. The appetizers and kind service were the icing on the cake!

Eric W.

Yelp
This place is the best. It isn't just Thai food but has awesome Laotian food. I hope this place makes it because this store front has a hard time succeeding. Prices are way cheaper tham Bhan Mae Vane and places like Burma Superstar
