Chibugan Lechon At Ethan's Restaurant

Crispy Pata was good but had dry spots. Came for Lechon but they ran out before 2pm. Will return earlier in day for lechon and maybe some lumpia.

Posting for a friend! He received maggots in the fish he ordered. Was ultimately refunded, but I would 10/10 not recommend eating here.

Kept laughing at us for not knowing tagalog. Took advantage and charged us $100 for a $75 meal.

Food was inedible and went directly into the garbage. My wife picked up food before closing time. There was no Lechon and the food she brought back looked like pigs face in sauce with a few bay leafs which should have been removed before serving. I tried to eat it but I spit it out after a full minute of chewing because it would not break apart. We probably came at a bad time but unloading your garbage onto our plates isn't okay. I won't return because there are plenty of other places to get Legit Lechon.

They almast had no food, and I was here just because accross the street my favorite spot was closed I came to give a try. I asked if they had Pancit. And the lady just laughed and just repeated what i said. I said oh you guys ran out? And she laughed and started talking in their language, sorry but i will not be coming back here. Very rude and disrespectful.

So crispy! Got the lechon plate for lunch. The outer crisp with buttery fat and juicy meat was perfect. Barley needed the sauce but was a great compliment to meat. Great portions and friendly staff. Definitely a return visit for me.

A small no frills place with top-notch food, in other words, a hidden gem. The cebuchon was simply mind altering good, served with hot white rice and accompanying sauces. Sounds simple, I know, but the flavor, let me say it again, the FLAVOR of the cebuchon takes this simple dish to souring heights. Recommend.

Ethan's just stole the top spot as my favorite Filipino restaurant in Carson. A two-item combo is $13.99, and if you add turon and a guilt tip, you're looking at around $20 for lunch -- solid value for what you get these days. I was told to try the sinigang, while my usual fave is pinakbet. The sinigang came through with a generous amount of pork and a perfectly balanced sourness. The pinakbet was loaded with veggies and kabocha squash, and I really appreciated that nothing was overcooked. Pro tip: go earlier in the day for peak freshness. But the true star? The turon. Hands down the best I've had in this style. It even beats Pampanga's Bakery in Artesia -- Ethan's version actually has filling, while Pampanga's leans way heavier on the wrapper. Definitely worth a stop if you're in the area.

Hands down my go to spot for crispy pork sisig. (they use pork belly, not ears.) Its super crispy, flavorful, and just the right amount of citrus. They make it fresh, so it takes about 10-15minutes or you can call ahead and pick it up. I usually get it to go and throw a fried egg on top when I get home. Big back thangssss. The set up is causal like a turo turo (point point) style place where you choose from a variety of ready made Filipino dishes. You can build your own combo plate, or order trays for catering. Their turon is also so good, crispy, sweet, and filled with banana and jackfruit. I have tried a few of their other dishes too but the sisig is what keeps me coming back. The staff here is friendly and welcoming. The parking is small but I havent had a problem finding a spot yet. Also just a heads up they are closed on Sundays.

Ordered Shanghai for a party, It was very good. I ordered pancit too and that was really good. The display of other foods looked delish. I'm coming back to try. Service was friendly and the place seemed clean to eat there. When I ordered, I was told to Zelle. It was an easy transaction. I will be ordering here again in the future.

Went and bought some Lechon from this Ethan's Filipino restaurant -- honestly one of the worst experiences ever. They charge $25 a pound, but what I got didn't even look like a pound. The portion was small, dry, and just disappointing. The sauce they give you is tiny, barely enough for even a few bites. Definitely not worth the price and completely overrated. First time and definitely the last time here. If I could give zero stars, I absolutely would.

Tapas was ok but the real star was the lechon kawali. They made it fresh for me so it was so juicy and crispy! Staff was also friendly and welcoming.

Chibugan has really good, authentic Filipino food. The quality and flavor are excellent and price is fair. So good that it's been my "go to place" when introducing friends to the cuisine. The ambiance is comfortable and inviting. The service is warm, courteous and friendly.........when the owner is there. If not, the 2 people I last encountered were oblivious, un attentive, rude and disrespectful. They clearly did not read "the memo" and had "clocked out". The notion of customer service and "Filipino hospitality" was clearly foreign to them. It's really a shame because the owner exemplified great Filipino Hospitality and was really proud of the product he was producing as well as the service he was providing. I had hoped that this was an isolated incident, but unfortunately, the other reviews say otherwise. It would be great if management addresses this hopefully "isolated" flaw. I came to the wrong restaurant looking for sisig. I meant to go to the belly boink but I came in here instead. This is the typical Filipino steam table food but also they have cook to order items that take about 15 minutes. Me and my mom did the typical point and make a box and I don't know what she ordered but the meat was a 5/5 for tenderness and flavor. It had a citrus and BBQ taste going on. I asked her what it's called and she said "if you see it again just point, idk what this is" I also tried one piece of turon. It was the freshest sweetest and crispiest I've ever had in the US. There are quite a few tables inside but it got busy and full fast. It's very casual inside. The parking lot looks like it can be a pain and indeed was pretty full when I left.

Needed a last minute lumpia tray for 4th of July and they pulled through. All other restaurants were closed or not answering their phones. We were able to call in our order and were told order would be ready in 15minutes. It was ready in time stated and it was hot and fresh.

First time we ordered from here for our holiday party. We got a full lechon and it was amazing. It could feed around 50 people. It was a big hit at our party. The brown sauce was amazing! The pork was super tender! Will def get again for another company party!

The tapsilog here is one of the best I've had! The tapa is flavorful and well-marinated, paired with two eggs and two generous scoops of rice--just the right portion for a satisfying meal. The restaurant is clean, and the staff is friendly, making the dining experience even better. This will definitely be my go-to spot whenever I'm craving a solid breakfast silog!

We tried Lechon Chibugan and it did not disappoint! I ordered the adobo pata which was flavorful, tender, and cooked perfectly. My son ordered the chorizo with eggs and tapa, and both dishes were delicious and satisfying. The portions were generous, the food came out fresh, and the staff were very friendly and welcoming. Definitely a great spot if you're craving authentic Filipino comfort food--we'll be coming back to try more dishes next time!

Came here for lunch during a road trip. This was my first time having Filipino food, and I spent a while looking at all their entree options (Panda Express style, the dishes are laid out). The workers were so kind and, seeing my visible confusion, they explained each dish to me thoroughly and offered me samples of every single item! I am blown away by their caring service; I would say that this is one of the top customer service places that I've been to. I got the ~$12 combo that comes with two scoops of rice and two entrees. Their portions are extremely generous- one entree is served in the combo container, and they serve the second entree in an entirely new container. Food was absolutely delicious, and I am now a fan of Filipino food. I got the chicken adobo and pork steak- both bursting with flavor. I got a pandan dessert (the name escapes me) that was delicious as well! I want to highlight the customer service again. It felt like being served by family; the passion and love is so apparent in everyone working. They even offered my friends and I complimentary sinigang to try, which of course was delicious as well. Overall, please give this restaurant a visit for delicious food, generous portions, and to receive so much care from the workers. I look forward to returning on my next socal trip!

This was a first time for us to try Filipino food. The service was very nice and they explained things to us. It was the end of the day so they were out of some items. We look forward to going back soon. Rice was great.

Found this business on my way to an appointment. Checked them on Yelp and started to crave my parents' Filipino home cooking. So, I decided to try it out. The staff server was pleasant and helpful explaining the different combo options and what was available at the counter. I chose the 2 entree combo to-go and picked entrees typically made by my dad, the pork adobo and dinuguan. Both entrees were amazing and fresh, specifically they were not oily but extremely flavorful! Highly recommend for Filipino cravings.

I was craving pork sinigang yesterday so I called and confirmed that they had some. When I got there the staff was very friendly. I ordered pork sinigang to-go and was so excited to eat it when I got home. The soup was a good balance of sour and savory and the pork and vegetables were cooked perfectly. However I soon found an ant in my soup and was super disappointed :( that's the only reason I had to rate this place with only 3 stars.

When you're a Filipino that's either too lazy or too tired to cook some homemade Filipino food your own way....; you go on Yelp while asking yourself : "Okay.... where the hell should I go to satisfy my lazy, but hungry craving for my cultural foods!?". It's always a toss up because you don't want to feel ripped off with what you paid, your standards are higher than others in general who don't know how to cook Filipino food. Today was one of those days for me. For years now, others have told me about Chibugan, but I honestly forgot about it because there are so many other Filipino restaurants around here. I was craving some Filipino breakfast and didn't want to cook it myself, so I chose their Longsilog. For around $7.99, you only get like 2 pieces and that isn't enough for me...so I paid extra and got their BBQ pork because for those kinds of foods, apparently there are no chicken...but hey, I don't eat Filipino fast food as much these days, so what the hell! Let's get some pork! The wait was not bad at all! Their cooks seemed hella friendly, along with the rest of their staff...; which is awesome because I used to love going to Tita Celia, but ever since they got too popular and crowded, their customer service sucked more than a JobbaVic and a Pat-trick do when they don't man up. Enough with the subliminals and onto the rest of this review....; So I got my food & I wanted to taste it right away before bringing the rest home. The longanisa was OK, but it seemed like it was just easily deep fried. It had flavor, but not as much as I'm used to. The rice was pretty damn good and the BBQ pork slices were THICK and very very delicious without being too oily! I LOVED it! If I didn't get it, I would've felt ripped off with my meal. NOT BAD! Exterior: The parking here is free & chill because it's at a non-busy strip mall, BUT you have to watch out for the crackheads, homeless (not all are bad) and people from the half-way house across from here and all around this area. Just basically watch your surroundings around here. Interior: The place is nice, clean, provides sanitizer everywhere for those who are still bugging about everything, they have your typical TVs playing random Filipino and American stuff. I only wish they had some free water like other places. In the end, this place is a cool alternative to other Filipino joints around this area! It's not as oily, not as crowded, their pork is thick, I hear their crispy pata is amazing (which I really need to try next time!!) and they have a great grill spot to the right side of it. Chibugan is very much worth a try if you like some quick Filipino food to go &/or if you're just craving some in general.

Passed by this place a lot. Their logo for some reason always grabs my attention, especially since it says lechon. AMBIANCE: Parking: Plaza parking. It's a busy place and can get full. Worst case scenario is street parking. Seating: Spacious spot with about 30 people in relatively small groups. Feels: It's on the popular spot of Carson with a lot of Filipino businesses and eateries! The spot itself is nothing flashy but your usual turo turo (fast food) Filipino spot. You're welcomed by the delicious smells of Filipino food. Great place for a quick bite or if you want to do catering orders too. FOOD: Chicken Adobo (Recommend) Great! I make a pretty good chicken adobo but I can appreciate this style. Creamy sauce and a nice balance of savory and seat. Dinakdakan (Recommend) Medley grilled pig parts boiled and grilled that's well cooked. The mayo/pig brain provided a thick texture holding in the flavors of chili, onion, ginger, garlic, pepper, and bayleaves. CUSTOMER SERVICE: Awesome! Friendly people and relatively quick. TL; DR OVERALL: 4 Stars. I dig it. Great variety, reasonable prices, and delicious food. I'm really reminiscing about the dinakdakan. I know there are a lot of Filipino places in Carson but this is a pretty good spot. Traditional turo-turo need cafeteria style eatery. Like other similar joints, the earlier you come the better as the food will be freshly made instead of it sitting on the warming plates for hours. Over all, the quality is solid and we come here fairly regularly for takeout.

Not going to lie, there are so many varieties of Filipino food dishes I can't keep track. Pancit, as an example... there's five recognized varieties? Or is it six? Eight? Hmm I think at least eight when I check... Thus overwhelmed, I end up treating Chibugan as like any fast service informal Filipino place... it's got a good spread of tasty food, some uniquely Filipino dishes (beef in mayo??) that are pretty good, and just enough parking to work as a lunch spot. Having consulted with Filipino friends and having tried a few other places in the area, I can see why this place is recommended.

Dined in at Ethan's Chibugan today, 3/18/23 after searching for Filipino breakfast. We liked that you can order breakfast anytime and they'll cook it fresh which we loved as well. They are located in Carson in a small plaza so parking can be tough. We ordered longsilog which is longanisa with garlic rice and eggs on top. We also ordered tosilog which is tocino meat with rice and eggs. Also, we tried their lechon kawali which were freshly cooked and moist. The meat was tender and the skin was crunchy!We enjoyed everything we ordered. The place was nice and clean looking and the staff were friendly. I expected friendlier service, I mean that's what Filipino's are known for but good enough. The only complaint is that when we arrived, there were barely any food options so it was difficult to get excited to eat. We were there for breakfast and we got our cravings satisfied. We'll be back again and hope they'll have plenty of food to choose from.

Awhile back this place had a different owner but somewhat similar name. With the new owner; they are now Ethan's! The new name and new restaurant is a nice and welcome change as the previous spot did not have the friendliest service. New and improved; I quite enjoy the combination plates here. Combos are $8.99 for combo 2 with 50 cent extra for meat. My favorites here are the chicken bbq as well as the beef kaldereta. The beef kaldereta has lots of tender and lean meat, potatoes and carrots. The tomato sauce is thick and saucy making it perfect to put over white rice. Another item I like to get here is their freshly made lechon kawaii. They make it fresh and it's always nice and crispy. Overall nice spot for some good home style Filipino food.

I was in the area and was craving some lechon and found this place. It was pretty good. I ordered a plate with pancit, rice, sisig and beef stew. Then went a door over to order lechon because they don't have any in the first spot. These two places are same owners.

Not a bad place for your Filipino fix. Place is clean and plenty of seats for lunch on Saturday. They unfortunately didn't have bbq meats, kare kare but they've got pretty much everything else. The only let down was they had lechon without the skin but I guess that's healthier lol. 2 item combo was around $10 each and the portion is huge. We bought 2 x 2 item combo and probably could have just shared one 2 item combo. My goat kaldareta was on point and so was the lechon. My wife ordered the chicken adobo - it was ok. It just wasn't the way we usually have it prepared but everyone has their own interpretation of 'adobo.' Her sinigang tasted very very oily. The sourness and the filling was great but it was just too oily overall. Like I said, not a bad place especially value wise but considering how many Filipino restaurants are around the area, there are better ones.

My cousin was down with the flu, but for whatever reason, she was craving lechon kawali and asked to buy and deliver some to her house. As I'm sure it's available at other restaurants, what better place to go to than here given the name. Walked in and I love that customers and staff alike were following COVID19 protocols. I also ended up getting an order of sinigang and jeproks (only because it was there) to bring home. I can't speak for the lechon kawali since I didn't get any for my household. The sinigang was a little on the bland side. I felt it was unseasoned and didn't have enough tang. The jeproks was great, though. Thin and crispy and salted so good! TIP: if you're interested in lechon kawali or crispy pata, call and order it ahead of time, otherwise, it's about a 15 minute wait. FOOD: 3. SERVICE:4. VALUE: 3. Pretty average. PARKING: Shared with other businesses. WARNING: People park on unmarked places or directly in front of the business blocking every way possible because it's just too much trouble for them to park like normal, considerate people. (Even I almost got blocked in at one point.) I saw at least 4 people do this in the 5-10-minute span I was there. OVERALL: 3.25. They had a variety of other food offerings turo-turo style. Breakfast also available. I may just swing by another time to check those out.

I've stopped in at this place on Figueroa and Carson several times now. I like the atmosphere and there is always something on the food trays worth pointing at and eating. I usually eat in and enjoy the service by the friendly team. If you need to build your repertoire of Filipino places to eat on the South Bay, definitely add this one to your list.

First visit to Ethan's today. They were out of lechon at 2pm but I got the Crispy Pata, which was great! Other than the steam table foods, they cook to order, so you'll have to wait a few minutes. There were a couple dry spots on the pata, but still a five-star offering. Friendly staff. Next visit, I will show up earlier to catch the lechon and order some lumpia too.

My wife and I were honored to have a large lechon at our wedding this past weekend and it was the star of our reception dinner! Everyone who never had a taste of a real Filipino lechon before had their taste buds exploding with flavor and a memory that will last them a lifetime. I've had lechon in the Philippines many times and it's impressive how Ethan's restaurant can give you the same experience without going to the birthplace of Filipino lechon cooking. The sauces were not over powering but complimented the roast pig beautifully. The skin was gone in minutes lol but the meat was tender yet filled with flavor because of all the herbs and spices. Definitely a labor of love that you can taste. 10/10 would recommend next time you need some delicious roast pig in your life! Thanks Ethan's

Food is good and looks new everyday. Service is ok but could be more people friendly. Sometimes there are additional server and they are friendly. The place is relatively clean. But the price has gone up to high $15.43 with a smaller box to go. They charge extra when you use a credit card.

I come here for their sisig and sinigang. I've also ordered pork lechon and tapsilog. They were all seasoned/marinate right. Their menu has good choices. It is cafeteria style and seating is available. The menu consists of 1 item combo, 2 item combo and so on. Good price for the portion size . There are no outdoor seating. Plaza parking. The plaza can get a little tight and hard to find parking. If so park in the street. If you want to try Filipino food this is a place to consider.

The server and or cashier was the most rudest person I've ever encountered working in that establishment. I came in to inquire about purchasing a whole lechon for a party that I'm having. I, ask her how many pounds it was and how many it could feed. She replied 30 people. I asked if the roast pig could be larger for about 70 people. She rolled her eyes n said, "will be there other food besides the roast pig?" I replied of course they'll be additional food why should that be of any importance? The point is that to ensure that the roast pig can be shared, be a part of the menu for my guests to choose from aside the other food but more importantly that it'll be enough to serve. Nonetheless, whoever she is she needs to take a crash course on customer service and listen to the question that was being asked of her. In addition if it's beyond her purview to answer question get someone else who can. Unfortunately, sometimes we may never know who we are talking to and can be a detriment to a longevity of any business. I've never experienced such horrendous service. As the Vice President of Public Relations and Marketing for the company I work for. I promise you never will I not tolerate any employee to ever mistreat customers in the manner and behavior that I was. She was insulting and lacked respect for the establishment she worked for. In any event as a business and community leader I will inform my clients, family and friends to not bother wasting their hard earn money on your business. I'm sorry to say that it's just not worth it to spend money on an establishment that does not value uts customers or patrons. I'll go across to Tita Celias, NoyPits, Manila Sunrise, Barrio or any other Filipino Restraurant but yours. I will also notify the surrounding businesses, the Chamber of Commerce organizations, Rotary Club and local associations that Im a part of in regards to your service. A bit pricy for the food combos. Not a huge fan. If you like pork choices.. there is def choices here. Not many vegetarian options. They do have fish options but it's pretty small portion size fish for the price as well. Not one of our go to's.

Today I had sisig for the first time. It was so delicious. OMG that's my new favorite dish. Next time extra jalapeños. The staff was so friendly and helpful.

Food was really good. B it was recommended by a broker and his recommendation did not fail. The only complaint was the restaurant was hot. The air was not working. But if they ever fix this air problem this place would be worth visiting again. If not. I'm definitely not coming during the hot summer months.

This is probably my favorite Filipino breakfast joint on the area. There's a good selection for breakfast with even fried pork chop as a choice isn't found in most other places. The - silog includes garlic fried rice, two fried eggs plus your protein of choice. I usually go with the tapsilog which is marinated beef. The beef is very tender unlike some places that serve it more dry and hard. You get coffee too as part of the combo and it's all around $6 plus tax. I always ask for the complimentary sabaw, or soup on the side as well. Very filling and tasty too. I will be back again soon when in the area.

Stumbled upon this place while in Carson and the food is good - there's a lot of selections to choose from. We got here around 11 am and only 1 table was occupied but 30 minutes later, people started coming in. There a very limited seating capacity so I suggest you come early. I ordered pork with mayo and that was really good. Overall, I would definitely come back if I'm in the area again

Been going here for almost everyday for a long time now and suddenly the staff started to give me an attitude since I told her to remove the squash in one of the item since I don't eat them and I will just ended up throwing them away, she rolled her eyes and dump the whole thing back into the tray instead of just removing them - she got me a new one though but very upset, the other guy kinda mumble but i can hear him saying "why am I going there almost everyday" really??? You should be happy that you have a loyal customer! I will never go back to this place, ever!
