The Best Restaurants In Lincoln Park

"CBA isn’t a bagels-and-lox kind of bagel place, but they do great “steamwiches,” a.k.a. steamed bagel sandwiches. It’s the ideal spot to get an inexpensive take-out sandwich when you aren’t trying to eat a whole bunch of fried stuff." - sam faye, adrian kane, john ringor, veda kilaru

Chicago Bagel Authority - Review - Lincoln Park - Chicago - The Infatuation

"Sometimes, you don’t want to “brunch.” You don’t want numerous variations of avocado toast perfectly Instagrammed over decorative tile floors. You don’t even want other humans to recognize your existence. You just want a greasy ass bagel sandwich in your belly. Enter, Chicago Bagel Authority. CBA makes delicious, meaty steamed bagel sandwiches. Yes, they’re steamed, so they’re soft, moist, and lack the traditional consistency of traditional bagels. Bagel purists are going to whine. Get out of here bagel purists. We don’t need your kind at CBA, or at least recognize that's not what CBA is about. Their bagel sandwiches are hefty and piled high with various meats, cheeses, eggs, and other toppings. Stick to a classic BEC, or get real weird with some of their more creative concoctions like the Hot Carl (meatballs, feta, tomatoes, cucumbers, ranch dressing) or the Crunch and Munch (Nacho Cheese Doritos with turkey, cheese, and the fixings). With college sports on TV and groups of friends reminiscing about the night before at high tops, it’s the equivalent of a breakfast sports bar, minus the booze. CBA is loud and raucous with no real method to ordering. The menu is huge, categorized by meat (Turkey, Bacon, Ham, etc.), and written on a giant chalkboard. It’s slightly overwhelming, but you’ll be surprised at how easily you acclimate to throwing bows to get your order in. The staff is friendly, but they’re not really here to chat with you. They got bagels to steam, son. You can't go wrong with any of the bagel sandwiches, but check out some of our favorite combinations in the Food Rundown below for some ideas. We normally hit up the Lincoln Park location, but the newer Lakeview spot on Belmont is basically the same. And if you can't get your sh*t together on the weekend to make it out in public, CBA will deliver. Sure, you have to hit a $20 minimum, but between three Gatorades, an iced coffee, bagel sandwich, and chocolate chip cookie, you should be just fine. Food Rundown photo credit: Christina Slaton Sam's Sunrise Your classic scrambled egg with American cheese. Because it’s steamed, the American cheese gets ooey gooey in the best kind of way. Toss on some extra bacon, and you’ve got yourself a nice little breakfast. photo credit: Christina Slaton The Belmont No longer must you choose between sweet and savory because The Belmont throws in everything plus the kitchen sink: ham, syrup, scrambled egg, chive cream cheese, jalapeños, gouda, and pepper jack cheese on an everything bagel. It’s sweet, salty, meaty, and cheesy. photo credit: Christina Slaton The Messy Katie Turkey, cream cheese, colby, lettuce, tomato, sprouts, avocado, and honey mustard on a bialy. They warn you it’s messy. photo credit: Christina Slaton Bread Intruder This is our go-to bagel sandwich. Corned beef, bacon, hard boiled egg, pepperjack cheese, jalapeños, cheddar, black pepper, lettuce, and habanero on a rye bagel. Heads up, this is a Level 10 on the spicy scale. photo credit: Christina Slaton Atheist's Nightmare In the mood for something a little sweeter? The Atheist’s Nightmare has peanut butter, banana slices, and cinnamon sugar on a wheat bagel. Fun fact: some people believe that bananas are proof of intelligent design by God because it’s so perfectly designed for human holding, consumption, and disposal. CBA is educational too!" - Claire Schlafly

Where To Go When You’re Hungover And Want To Die

"We won’t say that the bagels at CBA in Lincoln Park are the best in the city. But their steamed bagel sandwiches are one of the best hangover cures next to Pedialyte and throwing your phone away for allowing you text your ex. Don’t let the massive menu overwhelm you, just order the Dank N’ Eggs (scrambled eggs, bacon, roast beef, cheese, and honey mustard) or the Crunch & Munch, where the secret ingredient is Doritos." - josh barnett

Google
First time ever having a steamed bagel and I’m honestly not a fan. The bagel was warm but way too moist almost soggy. The sausage and egg were fine but not seasoned. Subbed the cheese for avocado which gave some creaminess and also added some jalapeños for a kick. Overall, a decent breakfast sandwich. Tons of options so always a reason to come back and try it unsteamed.

Google
not good bagels & dirty store I witnessed a staff member try to whack flies with a towel or something for like 10 minutes— didn’t seem like he did a good job at that unfortunately. Pretty sure I saw a cockroach on my way out. Music was funny though, they were playing metal

Google
A quirky bagel place that’s always busy! They have sooooo many options to choose from, and fair prices. Takes a bit to get good cause there so busy but it’s fun to jam to the music and sit outside and wait. However, I would get coffee elsewhere.

Google
Good place to have your breakfast/lunch Taste really good, and delicious ingredients. But I wish I had more Salmon in my breakfast sandwich. And I wish they also had expresso machine. I had to go to different store to get my Latte. Definitely recommend this place.

Google
I wanted to like this place more than I did. The food was very good for sure, the steamed bagel concept is an interesting departure from your regular style. I did think some of the food would be even better toasted, but that's just my preference - it was certainly tasty, flavorful, and an interesting combination of elements that I did quite enjoy. The reason for deducting a star is atmosphere - I did not enjoy the heavy metal style music, which made the place just seem a bit obscure and not very upbead or positive vibes inducing. Despite that - and I'm sure many people would be into that atmosphere, it just wasn't for me - the food was very good, so overall I was still glad to try it. If you're not into that type of music either, perhaps I'd suggest getting the bagel to go and just walk to a park nearby and eat it there. Still, would recommend trying their bagels!

Google
Very clean establishment, the staff is extremely friendly with it's customers. I got lost in the menu with so many items but boy it didn't matter. The breakfast sandwich was delicious! I'm definitely coming back here!

Google
Recently heard about this place being a go to bagel spot in city so I had to check it out. Hands down worst bagel sandwich I’ve ever had. I ordered a bacon egg and cheese on an everything bagel. The eggs were served on the bagel hard boiled and sliced like it was a chef salad. The chunks of yolk and super soggy/wet bagel were a disgusting combination. Not to mention the table next to me had kids standing on top of the table with their dirty shoes on top of the table where people eat. The music was also very aggressive and didn’t fit the vibe of a casual Sunday morning breakfast either. Will never revisit this bagel spot.

Google
The bagels were solidly good. Intricate sandwiches. Had the Clayboy on a sesame bagel with the honey mustard sauce swapped out for habenero Mayo. A really good choice! Coffee was strong and yummy. The steamed bagels were a little odd, and they didn't have lox. 3.5 stars.

Yelp
It had been a minute since I tried a new Chicago bagel spot, and I was seriously craving one--so I decided to check another place off my list. Gotta preface this by saying I'm from Jersey, so my bagel standards are high. I ordered The Belmont and a salmon & lox cream cheese bagel. The bagels themselves were just okay--thin and nothing particularly standout--but the fillings were really solid. The Belmont had a great mix of meats, and I actually like cream cheese on a breakfast sandwich--it works surprisingly well. The lox and salmon bagel was great too; the fish was mixed into the cream cheese like a spread, and at only $8, it was a steal. Overall, this was probably one of the better bagel breakfast sandwiches I've had in Chicago so far. If you're not super picky about your bagels like I am, you'll probably love it. I'd definitely get bagels from Chicago bagel authority again!

Yelp
The service was good, the selection enormous but I did not like the way they prepared the bagels. When you order a bagel sandwich, they don't serve the bagel baked or toasted, they're steamed (I think). This makes the bagels really soft and damp, as if they have been in a microwave. No chewing bagels with a crusty exterior here. I had an everything bagel with ham, eggs and cream cheese and it tasted like one of those frozen breakfast sandwiches that you heat up in a microwave. I found the texture fake and unappealing. Add in the fact that they don't even have lox on the menu and this is certainly not a traditional bagel spot. If you're looking for bagels prepared in the traditional way head 5-6 blocks south to Cory's NY bagels, or my favorite, Bro Bagel in Wicker Park.

Yelp
One thing I loooove is a good Ritz bagel from CBA. Ordered ahead, but ate there. Something about that steamed bagel, with turkey, bacon and that garlic mayo. Look, it's my go-to. Service is always efficient(keep in mind it can get packed there); music is always playing and just a great spot for a bite to eat.

Yelp
CBA is a staple of the Chicago area and a solid bagel if you need that chewy salty craving satisfied. If I ever need a bagel and there's a CBA nearby, I definitely would grab one. If you're really hungry, grab a sandwich. They're huge. But I personally stick to just a good everything bagel with cream cheese. Chive for extra bang. The staff is fun and friendly and the place is a vibe and a half. I always enjoy it

Yelp
Awesome bagels. I love the Pb and J Bagel . Many great options for all appetites. I want to try a lunch bagel next

Yelp
What great spot for all day breakfast. The ambiance is cheerful. People that work behind the counters look happy. Yelper from CA give this place high five

Yelp
Everytime I come here this place is a hit! The bagel sandwiches are amazing! The staff are great! The menu is huge! And the snacks are great as well!

Yelp
I was in the area and searched for 'lunch nearby'. Stopped in for lunch to go. I ordered the Messy Katie. It was delicious! I think I will drive in from the suburbs to bring my family.

Yelp
A gem. As an east coast transplant, after a long search in the cold darkness that is Chicago in the winter - this has emerged as a diamond in the rough. 9/10 - onion and everything bagels are seasoned to perfection!
google avatar

Courtney B.

Yelp
Got multigrain bagels (not sandwiches), and they were super flabby. The veggie cream cheese had large chunks of raw carrots and raw celery--so it was very fresh but not at all pleasing by itself on a bagel. Comparable taste and texture to packaged, store bought bagels. Appreciated their unusual choice of TV, one had a person playing Mario live (pictured).

Yelp
CBA's bagel sandwiches are so good that I would drive through hurricane weather, and wait out an anxiety attack in a shady Cicero hotel just to eat the Belmont sandwich again. For context, I am from Memphis, TN & I travel for work. Chicago has been a resting point for me in my travels and I have grown to love Chicago. This last work trip had me in Saginaw Bay, MI so on my way home, I spent the night in Chicago. Unfortunately, my anxiety spiked while I was there, I was pacing my hotel, calling my boyfriend, my friends, my family, just to try and get some emotional support. Overall, I was fine, but anxiety sure as hell will not convince you that you are fine. The hotel I stayed it 100% freaked me out, was not a great area. Dirty hotel sadly. But YOU BET I was going to find good a Chicago breakfast the morning after. My friend who is from Chicago recommended CBA and I am so glad I went. Since coming home to Memphis, I DREAM about the Belmont Bagel sandwich. The service was also great, friendly people with nice smiles. I will come back for you, CBA. With love from Memphis!

Yelp
The service was cool. I didn't expect a chik-fil-a worker when I stepped. The air inside was very steamy, almost like a wet room. Anyways, I enjoyed the flavor of the Belmont sandwich, but I don't think the eggs are made fresh. They look and taste like frozen eggs. Almost like the eggs on a Jimmy Dean breakfast sandwich. The sandwich was a good portion for $12. Overall I would try again.

Yelp
I'm a sucker for bagels and this place hit the spot! This is a small bagel spot with lots of varieties. You can get something as simple as a bagel with cream cheese or you can go all out and get a sandwich of your choice. They also regular coffee. I tried the Wrigley Fielder which comes with cream cheese and a ton of veggies! This is an all veggie option however there are also sandwiches for meat eaters - breakfast and lunch sandwiches. I also got an iced coffee - nothing fancy here, simple and gets the caffeine job done. This was reallllllllll good. I'm picky with bagels and loooove me a specialty bagel spot! The service was quick especially considering how crazy packed this was on an early Sunday afternoon. There is limited indoor and outdoor seating so keep that in mind. There is also 1 bathroom so I recommend utilizing one before heading here lol. Tip - Lincoln park has free parking on Sundays, it does get busy after 10am so if possible try to come before the rush.

Yelp
CBA is a very busy location which usually means the food is good. The bagels were delicious. I would recommend ordering in advance or if you're planning to dine in be patient as it may take a little time due to the sheer volume of orders. I tried to vegan bagels. They have several vegan options. They were filling and flavorful my fav was weirs the beef. My only complaint or observation is, for a bagel location that didn't have a Lox bagel which I found weird but they have lox cream cheese. Overall very good experience
google avatar

Bill U.

Yelp
I ordered the the Breakfast bagel and came across disappointed. The meal was super salty and the bagel was not toasted. Not having a lot of luck so far on this trip. Yes, I'm sniveling.
google avatar

Bohao Z.

Yelp
I can see why this would be a local favorite with the huge menu, local decor, and generous portions. The bagels are steamed instead of toasted so pros and cons: Pros: softer bread that doesn't cut the roof of your mouth and easier to bite into for sandwiches so fillings don't squeeze out. Cons: no texture contrast and that bagel crunch. People at the register were nice and gave great suggestions for first-time visitors.
google avatar

Matthew A.

Yelp
With such an extensive menu I was worried they might not be able to deliver but CBA does not miss! Our group devoured our perfectly crafted bagel sandwiches. Shop can get busy but you can order ahead to save time. A few seats indoors and great location in Lincoln Park. I recommend the western. Cool thing is you can pretty much customize any bagel to however you like. Opt for an egg everything bagel if you want a truly stellar experience.
google avatar

Ariana G.

Yelp
I had high hopes but it was just ok. Or maybe it was just the sandwich I ordered. I ordered the Belmont for pickup fyi. First, the bagel is pretty heavy but I was disappointed that it was kind of soggy when I opened it. It was probably the heat from the sandwich causing the cream cheese to become all mushy and runny (which is what probably turned me off cause I don't like mushy food). Overall, I thought the ingredients worked well together but there was so much ham it was overpowering. The sweetness from the maple sausage really tied the sandwich together in my opinion.
google avatar

Alex R.

Yelp
Really nice! Cute little bagel shop next to the CTA line. Parking was easy to find. LOTS of options. Tbh it was a bit overwhelming the first time I looked at the menu but I was pleasantly impressed with the help I had at the register. Thank you!!
google avatar

Rebecca H.

Yelp
Amazing bagels and bagel sandwiches. There is one big problem about this place - choosing. Seriously, if I lived in the neighborhood I would be on a mission to try them all. Okay...I might accept that mission anyway. The food The service The vibe Go here for breakfast. Go here for lunch. Go here often. You will love it!
google avatar

Isabel V.

Yelp
The bagel shop is small but has some tables and chairs for you to sit. They have a wide arrange of bagels assortments and combinations that are sure to make your stomach happy. I had the Puck, which has Canadian bacon as it's main protein source. My husband ordered the Belmont that has maple sausage links and ham! Both were delicious and made us very happy. We'd been here before a couple of years back and it tasted just as good as the first time! So glad we have this little gem in Chicago for whenever we visit. To add- the service is always super chill and very helpful in helping you decide what you may be wanting. It's a must go!

Ashley M.

Yelp
I've always loved this place and have recommended it to so many friends! My favorite quick breakfast place with the option to make any bagel sandwich gluten free. My only complaint unfortunately was last time I went I tried a new sandwich with roast beef on it and it was completely frozen in the middle. I tried to go back to the store but had picked up the sandwich close to closing time so they were closed. So aside from the roast beef (wouldn't recommend) absolutely amazing and will never stop raving about this place. I usually get the Egg McMahon or you have to try their chive cream cheese!!
google avatar

Sean G.

Yelp
This is a great bagel spot in Chicago (multiple locations). Takes a little, but worth the freshness and delicious flavors. We got 3 things and split them all - really solid smear to bagel ratio and the bagel was hot which was also very enjoyable!! Def check this spot out, but allow time for the treat to be crafted!! Instagram: Sausage Fest The Dude Bagel w/ Cream Cheese @EatCBA Chicago's Best Sandwiches Since 1998 Let CBA change your life with one of our hot sandwiches. Chose from our  100+ tried and true Steamwiches comprised of an extensive list of fresh meats, cheeses, spreads, veggies, fruits, sauces, jams, jellies, bagels, bialys, pretzel rolls, and ciabatta sub rolls. Each mouthwatering bite will warm your soul... Chicago, IL

Aaliyah L.

Yelp
The first time I visited was on a Saturday and they were extremely busy with online orders. The menu was super overwhelming because they have so many options so I took a while to decide on what to get. I finally placed my online order and it took roughly 25 minutes to be ready. That felt very excessive for a bagel but I knew they were really busy. I tried the Dirty Swede (6/10) but I came back for a 2nd time and tried the White Lightning (9/10) and my order was ready much faster. I'll definitely visit again for the white lightning, I think I just caught them on a bad day for my first initial visit!
google avatar

Eric L.

Yelp
I tried their plain bagel and it did not disappoint. It was dense and surprisingly flavorful. I appreciated that they also steamed it so it was nice and warm. I would definitely come back to try another one of their breakfast items.
google avatar

Katie M.

Yelp
The quantity of stuffing has gone wayyyyyyyyyyy down i the past year. It is now always a VERY thin bagel sandwich. It still tastes great, but I'm paying too much for the quantity I'm receiving. Great bagel sandwiches, but skimping on the ingredients now.
google avatar

Clay G.

Yelp
I like bagels and I like breakfast. CBA provides both of these in abundance. The staff is really friendly and they are doing their best to make sure things come out quickly. My favorite part though is the sign behind the registers that changes colors based on projected wait time. It's a much better system than having to ask and more quick service establishments should adopt this.
google avatar

Christina S.

Yelp
Love their diversity of flavored cream cheeses to pack and go for home morning smears! Specifically-fresh veggie cream cheese which is whipped cream cheese with a medley of fresh vegetables. The service is patient, kind and professional as this is a small location. There are two registers-one at each end of the counters. They have a small seating area-with wide French Style Windows that allow for an "Al fresco" atmosphere. Less than a block from The Armitage Brown Line Station!!!!!

Brady S.

Yelp
Service is excellent!! The food is amazing too but the staff is what makes it! I have an allergy and am vegetarian and they make sure to take care of me! Once I had meat in my bagel they re-made it without question! Super accommodating! Highly recommended!!!
google avatar

Madison C.

Yelp
CBA offers steamed bagels which I've never tried before. Steaming the bagels makes for a softer bite so if thats what your going for I think you'd enjoy CBA bagels. For my personal preferenceI like a toasted bagel better to get a little crunch. They have a lot of options to choose from which is a plus. Service was slow out friend who ordered 3rd our of our group of 6 received her bagels last and it took a long time to get any of them out to us. We enjoyed sitting on their shaded back patio. They do have sitting inside as well.
google avatar

Manas V.

Yelp
More of a traditional deli type place with awesome bagel sandwiches! Went on a Sunday morning and the only real downside was the wait for food but was well worth it. Got the huevos rancheros bagel sandwich and asked to remove the ham as I am vegetarian. They immediately asked if I would like to sub with avocado which I always appreciate and many other places charge extra for this. I had never gotten a steamed bagel sandwich before and I was a bit skeptical but the softness of the bagel was actually really nice. Will definitely be coming back!
google avatar

Erica B.

Yelp
Usually I feel like the CBA bagels are small and don't fill me up, but I was pleasantly surprised by the Super Deluxe! I got it on an egg everything bagel and between that and all the meat and egg I felt pleasantly full! We ordered online for pickup and I added chive cream cheese by putting it in the notes and they didn't even charge extra! We sat in the little back patio area that we didn't even know existed and it was an overall very good experience!
google avatar

Rob G.

Yelp
One of our go-to places for weekend breakfast! This place has amazing steamed bagels with an extensive list of options. I highly recommend the Sausage Fest bagel that has a perfectly steamed onion bagel with American Cheese, sausage, bacon and egg. If you come in after breakfast there are other great options here as well. Just tried the Oak Pork BLT which has a fresh mix of bacon, chive, smoked cheddar, avocado and garlic mayo on an everything bagel. You can't go wrong with this place, especially the morning after a big night. ENJOY!

Gregory I.

Yelp
Service is poor, too many workers standing around not acknowledging customers. Don't order online, they put online orders in front of the counter for anyone to grab. Had to remake the order and took them 10 minutes while they prioritized making uber eats orders.
google avatar

Claire H.

Yelp
A lazy and wonderful Christmas tradition. After the holiday we sleep in and order CBA the next morning. This little bagel stop is perfect for lunch. It is Uber quick with personable staff. I've only been in once to actually sit and eat, we love to order it in. The Dude sandwich has egg, cheese, bacon, and jalapeño on and everything bagel, but I add avocado! Warm and filling - you just can't go wrong.

Jason T.

Yelp
1 hour wait, for a bagel. Admittedly I showed up 1/2 hour after placing the order. Introduced myself, they said "it would be a bit longer". Watched as bagel after bagel after bagel, for those arriving after me was served. Finally asked about my order to which they finally began searching the fulfilled order area and apparently my order was filled some time ago. 1 hour later. No. This place needs to close. Give me a Burger King over this loser.
google avatar

Erin M.

Yelp
This is the second time, I have ordered a cherry coke and they have given me a cherry Coke Zero @$2.50 a pop that is $5 down the drain - what a freakin waste - so annoyed and so over it! If you don't carry regular cherry coke then update your frickin menu!!!!
google avatar

Emily S.

Yelp
The best bagels in Lincoln Park! Very cool vibes inside with nice and attentive staff. Offers outdoor patio seating in warmer months. Great spot for breakfast and a morning debrief after a night out. They also offer takeout/delivery options. Favorites include the wrigley fielder, the messy Katie, and the crunch n' munch. It can get busy on Saturday/Sunday mornings, but well worth the wait! Can't go wrong with CBA!
google avatar

Amelia J.

Yelp
I am fairly new to the Lincoln Park neighborhood; about 1 year and 7 months. I like exploring to find new places to go and to eat, especially when I am on the go. I learned about Chicago Bagel Authority, and I just had to try this place that everyone has been suggesting. Let me tell you that the first time I went to the Armitage location, I was overwhelmed by all of the various sandwich selections. (This was during lunch time.) But I made my selection and I was not disappointed! I went back for breakfast and got the "Woody". This bacon, egg, cheese, and grape jelly goodness on a soft warm bagel was pure heaven with my coffee in this frigid winter weather. It put a huge smile on my face, and I was able to go about my day in peace. If you are in the neighborhood, stop by. Your taste buds will thank you!
google avatar

Anna B.

Yelp
I think I'll probably receive hate for this one, but I thought CBA was just ~okay~ there not much too it other than an average bagel stuffed with goodies on the inside to offset your brain into thinking you're a eating a good bagel. It's extremely busy on the inside and the menu is overwhelming. Study it before you go to safe yourself so stress. There was a sign on the wall saying a wait could be up to 25 minutes. Just didn't seem worth it to me. Classic steamed bagel sandwich but nothing to write home about. Staff was kind!
google avatar

Erin M.

Yelp
This place has a huge menu and all the options sound so good. I've had a couple of the turkey bagels and they've all been amazing. The steamed bagel is good but a little chewier than I'd prefer (but it sounds like that's what some people like about it). I'm excited to keep trying more things! I've only ever done carry out, but the person who brought it to the car was very kind!
google avatar

Falyn Handley H.

Yelp
This bagel spot was delicious. For our last breakfast in Chicago we looked at spots highly rated on yelp, and this was top of the list. Needless to say it did not disappoint. The eternal sunshine was huge, more than enough for two of us but phenomenal. We cannot wait to visit Chicago and get this again!
google avatar

Ella W.

Yelp
Omg. The fact that my phone didn't eat first I think says it all. The Messy Katie bagel that I had here was spectacular! It also didn't leave me with an over greasy feeling in my throat or stomach! The place is a whole vibe. They have so many bagel options and combinations, there's endless possibilities as far as hot sauce if you like a little extra kick. Also a huge plus is it's on one of my favorite Chicago streets. I will not stop until I try every single bagel. Love it here.
google avatar

Reagan W.

Yelp
Got the Belmont bagel and it was amazing! They steam their bagels so a little "soggy" compared to other bagel places but so good. Would call ahead as it takes some time to get your food.

Yelp
This bagel shop is located in the perfect spot in Lincoln park. It's great to just grab a bagel and go on a little stroll. I was at first taken back by the steamed bagel, just because I didn't ready much up on this place other than the fact everyone loves it. But I was pleasantly surprised at the texture and the flavor of the bagel. It was extremely soft and chewy and the flavor was impeccable. I got an egg everything t bagel with plain cream cheese and I will definitely be coming back for it again. I definitely want to try one of the many bagel sandwich options they have. It seems that no matter who you are you can find a sandwich you'll like on the menu! Overall a quaint little bag shop in the perfect location!

Yelp
This place was super busy, if you're going to try it I suggest pre order. It was a saturday morning though. 1st they got my name wrong, even after I spelled it out. Then I waited in their crowd for my bagel with vegan cc & cucumbers. After 10min they started calling, but I didn't know what she was saying, then she said the order, I got my bag. It was like a brown envelope style with a greasy paper stapled to it. It was hot. I was like??? I saw someone come back in with a bagel, so I hoped they got the right order. It was wrapped in foil, but still hot. Not toasted. I was like why is a bagel with cucumbers warmed up??? The "vegan cream cheese" was disappointing, it was like flavorless goop, the consistency of thick mayo. So gross, then I noticed it had bits of egg in it! So pissed! This crap cost me $7. I could've went to peets or gotham. It wasn't even edible. Hot cucumbers with a slop of unflavored mayo, not even a toasted bagel. Oh and for a bagel place they don't even have pumpernickel. Just sad! waste of time & money! I only came here cause someone on yelp said they had good vegan cream cheese, that person obviously has never had a new york bagel.

Yelp
First time trying Chicago Bagel Authority and yummy it was! Ordered Loc Spread Bagel on everything bagel and added tomato and red onions. $7.50 for the bagel so the price comparison is great compared to other lox bagels that run 15-20 bucks. The bagel spread has everything mixed in the cream cheese spread: capers, chives, and including chunks of salmon. Bagel was good, just enjoy having actual chunks of lox salmon in my sandwich instead of mixed in the cream cheese spread, that's all. Very good for the price and would definitely recommend!

Yelp
Amazing bagel sandwiches! Best in the city. Service is quick and easy if you're ordering or picking up. Highly recommend the hangover helper!
