In Doha been to concepted/themes “best of the best” but not impressed. Not being picky, nut there were always 3-4 things that collectively would throw out the expectations. Nothing wrong, can happen, but turns the ratings from a WOW to a MWAH.
Not at Chicaco Rare!
Chicago Rare keeps the vibe to its concept, the food and beverage authentic, might seem simple but is actually understated luxury too.
Chef Gosselin is the author of the dishes and their authenticity.
Smoked camembert was a painting, the bone marrow was a generous portion for the pallet, the porterhouse at medium was medium, with some well-medium sides, which is just adding to the fun. Demi glace just classic and silky thick for those who feel to pamper that porterhouse a little more.
Duck Fat Fries… glad they were skinny, so you can just keep going and going.
Apple pie and cheesecake for the finish. Dont change history, and thank god they didnt with these americana desserts.
Wine menu was straight to the point; dont sell the world and keep it paired to the menu.
The singer and band was a blend of julie london with the cool cats, and her voice and the band heartbeat rhythm swayed the dining vibe into unwinding vibe.
Smiling and engagement amongst the service team, seem to be very united, whilst in rush hour tunnel vision may happen amongst us all, but thanks to Rodney, who touches the tables genuinely, and with open agenda, my wife and I’s date-night was just tiptop.
Oh we will be back, cause Chicago Rare is a true happy place.
