Point Five - Review - Fairfax - Los Angeles - The Infatuation

"We’re beginning to think there’s a secret Southern Hemisphere conspiracy to take over Los Angeles. Which we’d be fine with, because Australians know how to make breakfast (just don’t refer to it as brunch in front of them). Point Five is another case in point - a little cafe on Melrose, with a handful of tables and great things to eat in the morning. The eggs benedict comes with prosciutto and whipped hollandaise (which seems about the same as regular hollandaise), and the uovo sandwich is an excellent combination of bread, eggs, and truffle aioli. The space is quiet, even when most of the tables are filled with Australians looking for something familiar, making it an ideal spot for a low-key meal or coffee." - Jess Basser Sanders

Google
The pizza here is worth the wait 🍕 10/10 Ordered a deep dish pizza with onions, meatballs and extra cheese 🤤 It was excellent! I could only eat 2 slices and I pushed it, 1 slice would do if you also have a side dish. Tip: Don’t arrive if you’re dying of hunger, be patient if you order something, it is worth the wait. I got there past 5pm and there was 1 person taking orders, serving and cooking. Saw a man get impatient and leave the restaurant because his order was not ready yet, to be fair there was only 1 employee there doing the best he could. I am unaware if more employees work there later on during the evening, but the guy that was there was knowledgeable about the menu and moved as fast as he could.

Very good Chicago style deep dish pizza! Maybe a little bit too much sugar in the dough and the souse for my taste...

Google
Chicago Stuffed Pizza Co. is a hidden gem in Los Angeles! Their Chicago deep-dish pizza is the best pizza in Los Angeles!! The combination of great flavors and ingredients, the lavish and delicious cheese, and the sauce that is so delicious I was eating it alone combine to make this a truly, outstanding pizza. The owner is hard-working, attentive, and genuine. You root for the guy and his business. When you notice the picture of his father, who taught him how to make a world-class, Chicago-style, deep-dish pizza, your heart is touched and your eyes water. My family and everyone else in this quaint restaurant thoroughly enjoyed the food, the people who work there, and the positive energy that they create. Bless Chicago Stuffed Pizza Co.!!

Google
Have ordered here about 5 x already and as a Chicago native, I'm really glad I found this place for my stuffed pizza fix. Next best stuffed pizza to being at home. Ooey goey cheese on top of sausage, mushroom, and black olives with a really nice aauce and a great crust. Also trallyngood breaded mushrooms. Light coating of batter, not that heavy stuff. Yummy. I will def be back again to enjoy a stuffed pizza from here. If you are fan of this type of satisfying pizza, give em some business. 🍕🍕😋😋

Google
GREEDY OWNER/ WORKERS This is the 3rd time my order has been canceled. Will never eat or order here again!!! What I have noticed is that if they don’t feel like they’re making enough money from your order - whether that be through tips or the amount of food you order - THEY CANCEL IT I left three photos for the evidence to see, I tipped them 10%. I bought a single large pizza and the order was canceled 17 minutes after I order it! The place has always been super dodgy. They’re hardly ever open and absolutely no consistency in the service or the food. It’s baffling how they were still in-business. WILL NEVER ORDER FROM THIS HOLE AGAIN

Google
Amazingly welcoming staff/owners–brothers Gio and Tommy–serve up smiles, jokes, and the cheesiest deep dish pizza: all true Chicago style. Open late and open early. Don't miss out on tomato sauce this good. Big Love from Las Vegas x

Google
Excellent deep dish pizza. I ordered the large Meat Lover and it did not disappoint. This is definitely Chicago Style quality. Recommend to bring your own beer if you want to drink (there is a 711 around the corner) Owner was a nice guy too. Great service.

Google
First of all wow, this pizza is really good. Ive had this place on my bucket list for a long time, always wanted to come and try the pizza but never had a chance until today. And boy was it the best decision Ive made. The service was outstandind very kind and welcoming. Ambiance was perfect as well. Definitely recommend this place. Best Chicago pizza Iva had in La. 10/10 5 stars without a doubt

Yelp
Best deep dish in LA! Owners are great and customer service is amazing. If you love a traditional Chicago deep dish, this is a must try! Garrett and Zach recommend!

Yelp
Pro-tip: if you must order their deep-dish keep it clean and simple. Go with plain cheese or spinach. I'm from Chicago and their Chicago supreme pizza was absolutely atrocious and needs a complete page one rewrite as they would say. Extremely frustrating experience here. After shelling out over 100$ for two deep dish pizzas, I was expecting more. A lot more (5% online order notwithstanding) First and foremost , I called in the order and tried to order for pickup. 'We don't do that anymore -- order online.' A firm response, but in a way I kinda respect their decision considering so many angelenos order pizza and flake. Deep dish making is expensive. I ordered the spinach and the Chicago supreme deep dish pizzas . Large size. The bill was an astonishing $103.46. It better be good for that price because it's around $10-20$ more than average market price. Spinach dish pizza: okay. A little undercooked towards the crust. Sauce can use a little more seasoning. Extremely ordinary. Too much for $50. 3/5 Chicago supreme pizza (Windy City pizza) .When comparing the two pizzas at my gathering, from the naked eye, we cannot determine which one is the spinach and which one is the supreme. We actually had to mutilate the top-soil to see which is which. And it still wasn't self-evident. The toppings were imbedded in like the permafrost. Toppings include: sliced pepperoni, sausage, bell peppers, onions and mushrooms, black olives and meatballs. (Usually supreme doesn't have black olives and meatballs but whatever) The toppings were scant. For $50 , I expect more than one pepperoni per slice. I didn't even taste the olives nor the meatballs. What little toppings discovered most were watery and undercooked. The one pepperoni I found was floppy and didn't even stick to the base. The green peppers were a light shade of green (when they should be a much darker color of green when baked correctly. This indicates to me the toppings either weren't distributed evenly and/or the whole pizza wasn't baked properly. 1/5 Either way, not up to par with the more memorable deep dish pizza joints in Southern California. This place is newish, so there is a learning curve. However, for the money I forked up, anything less than perfection is gonna be a miss for me. Owner is nice. Feel free to reach out to me. I think a replacement is in order to be quite frank.

Yelp
Didn't taste the food. Ambiance was unknown. Service was troubling. I arrived at 510 pm pulled on the door and it was locked. Someone was rolling down the blinds and i asked what time do you open? The response, "When i feel like it" :( . I will never know how the pizza tastes...

Yelp
This is by far the worse "Chicago style pizza" that I've ever had. I came to yelp to find an LA restaurant that had something close because unfortunately Blackbird is closed :( I have NO clue how this place is getting rave reviews - the only thing I can think is that they had an awful night or new cook or something. I 100% would have preferred Domino's or a chain pizza shop. The pizza had little to no flavor at all. The pizza sauce had no flavor other than tomato, tasted exactly like Contadina tomato sauce straight from the can. The cheese tasted like the cheap shredded mozz not fresh mozzarella. And the crust has NO taste. There is not a single thing about this that feels Chicago style. I also ordered meatballs because I wanted some extra protein and the meatballs are these tiny little things that look like they came out of a freezer bag. Same issue with no flavor throughout the food. What a wasted $60 for delivery of all that. Never ever again.

Yelp
A little slice of Chicago found its way to LA. The deep dish pizza was fantastic. We had ours with mushrooms and pepperoni! The crust is truly phenomenal and overall the pizza was really filling (we got a small and only ate about half). Also tried the chicken wings which are hearty and tasty. The inside is decorated with lots of Chicago sports memorabilia and had a casual vibe. Gio, our host/server, was so welcoming and made it a great experience!

Yelp
My boyfriend and I order here once a week for thin, tavern style, Chicago pizza. Hospitality and favor are hard to match. I have to admit that the square slices get us a little homesick. Thank you.
google avatar

Charlie ..

Yelp
redownload yelp just to make reviews for people who really go out of their way in commitment to excellence. Gio and the team here curated such an excellent casual vibe in the music and media displayed and their above and beyond customer service. The PIZZA GOES SO CRAZY I SWEAR. Gios recipe is so stellar I was cured of my grumpiness at my first bite. My favorite pizza in LA by far. Also they are open late which is so nice! Thank you for a lovely night and welcoming environment and great conversation.

Yelp
This was very good pizza. Some of the better Chicago style pizza around. I've driven for hours for Chicago pizzas. This was only an hour away and was a win. The service was friendly and atmosphere was cozy. Not fancy but fun.

Sarah S.

Yelp
The best deep dish pizza I have ever had! My friend introduced me to the place and now everytime I visit him in LA, we go here for dinner. The owner, Gio, was super friendly and always made sure we were well accommodated. Great atmosphere, service, and food. 1000/10

Yelp
A+ experience and great service, deep dish was absolutely fire! Party of 8 first timers dropped in last night for a friend's birthday, we were greeted with warm garlic bread & cold water was provided throughout our visit (even the water was great!) We ordered 2 large deep dish (pepperoni & meat lovers) along with 20 piece wings, this was too much food for our party but we had leftovers & we weren't mad about it! Yep, 1 man show here absolutely killing it, we didn't wait longer than 30 mins for the pizza, the cheese pull was real! Too bad I have no videos to show, everything tasted fresh, the wings were crispy, the buffalo sauce was so good! Those garlic bread pieces were heavenly! There wasn't too much foot traffic but the phone kept ringing & the man operating the space seemed to have everything right on point. Would absolutely return, this is definitely some of the best deep dish I've had!

Yelp
2nd time coming after 4 years and this place is still as I remembered it, bomb Best Chicago style pizza I've had, Better than Giordano's imo.

Yelp
Was craving some pizza and decided to try this place. The man who helped us was very welcoming, pushing tables together to accommodate us. The ambience was inviting as well as we played some cards while waiting for the pizza. The pizza was PHENOMENAL!! We got a Chicago style meats pizza, it's a bit on the pricey side, but well worth the price and I will be returning again soon!
google avatar

Yelp
I'm a little late but first the Chicago meat lovers pizza was DELICIOUS and was everything the owner promised it would be. He was very nice and he explained how he would cook the pizza and gave advice on what size. You can tell he really cares about his community and the food he serves. I would definitely come back here not only for the atmosphere and the friendly conversation but for the delicious food. 10/10 definitely a munchy food.
google avatar

Sol S.

Yelp
I know everyone comes here for the pizza, but order the wings and prepare yourself to obsessed with this perfectly cooked wings, never soggy at all, just the perfect amount of sauce. The service is great ! I'm pretty sure that there is literally only one guy running this place every day!
google avatar

wendy N.

Yelp
Got a large pizza for four adults and let me tell you, we had leftovers for days. One slice is a full meal. The one tip is that getting toppings on half the pizza doesn't really work because the toppings are INSIDE so you can't see them. Now we know (and you do too). Delish! Super nice people too!!

Destiny R.

Yelp
Thank you GEO for your Customer Service and The Pizza it was the first time I've had Chicago Style Pizza Awesomeness

Yelp
Legit Chicago style pizza + they have hot Giardiniera!!!!! With my husband being from Chicago, he's incredible judgy about his pizza, but we took the chance after a movie in LA and so happy we did. This was perfect. Owner was so awesome, from Chicago, and rightfully proud of their fresh ingredients and delicious food. The only negative is that we live so far away.

Jeffrey D.

Yelp
First time tryin deep dish. I wont lie, new york style solos. However, the service here is great. Free cold water, nice and friendly owner who makes all the food himself. Lowkey there is a wait so I would order online in advance, but the food is hot and fresh. Quality ingredients, but I wish the undercarriage was a bit less burnt. Whole lotta cheese, good cheese tho. A bit pricey, but understandable, this some fresh quality stuff. $40 for a 2 topping medium deep dish, enough to feed 2 people. Definitely a vibe, give it a try.
google avatar

Jasmine B.

Yelp
I ordered ahead for pick up and it ended up taking over an hour. When I arrived my food was still not ready and I waited an additional 10 mins. The owner showed me my pizza before i left and it looked delicious. He was kind of rude but he was working solo and I can tell orders were backed up, so I get it. The taste was just okay and it was severely undercooked.
google avatar

Dain L.

Yelp
Best deep dish I've had ever. Came here because it was the only deep dish place with a decent review and I see the reason why. Had the pepperoni and sausage deep dish pizza but I'm sure the other toppings are also very good. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a good deep dish. Owner was very nice and friendly. 10/10 would definitely come back.

Jirair S.

Yelp
What more can I say about this place? There's a saying that no news is good news but unfortunately most people aren't aware of this so I'll share the good news. I'll start by saying firstly the owners. I rarely see hard working people such as Gio and his brother who put this much passion into their products. This forgotten trait alone is enough for me to keep coming back to this place but that being said, the food. I have not had better deep dish pizza anywhere else. It is addictingly good and I live literally 20 miles away from this place and drive up twice a month at least just for this pizza. Would do more if I wasn't a gym rat but have to limit my cheat days. Their thin crust pizza is also phenomenal. Going into businesses like this is a reason my head is still held high that the true American tradition of good service and food still exists. The other day I also tried the tiramisu which I usually am not a big fan of but this was literally the best tiramisu I have ever had. Perfect balance of sweet and cream. Keep up the amazing work guys. Thanks.

Yelp
Another winner a pizza came out perfect but those of you wanting deep dish Chicago pizza it's right here in Hollywood.

Mark L.

Yelp
Chicago deep dish well It was good for my first time trying , the worker here seemed really genuine and respectful. I wish it had a tad bit more meat for the price I paid but however I was pleased, if I'm ever in the area again , might stop by for a different menu item.

Sofia M.

Yelp
Awesome service from Geo! He's the man. Came here for the first time tonight, he had great suggestions- and positive energy all around! Refreshing to experience. We will be comming back! The food smells and tastes amazing!
google avatar

Ana L.

Yelp
The deep dish pizza is delicious! First time trying it and I was hooked. It's so good! It's so rich the cheese oozes as you slice it. We had half pepperoni half sausage and both were fantastic. The crust was buttery and the sauce complements everything. There was only one person who takes the order and makes the pizza but he was awesome. Service was great. And the place is small but very cozy and more of a rock and roll vibe. All in all a great dining experience!

Perry A.

Yelp
Finally! Los Angeles has delivered an authentic Chicago stuffed pizza for discerning Chi style pizza lovers. From the perfect, crispy crust to just the right amount of sauce, to every topping that turns you on, chef Gio brings it home. Conveniently located in the heart of Melrose. Note: BYOB

Tyler P.

Yelp
Do not pass this place up. If you want authentic Chicago pizza give it a go. You will not regret it. Quality is on point.

trine m.

Yelp
Love it! It's a small business but this restaurant has a big heart for its customers. Food/pizza-one of the best!

Yelp
We were so hungry on a Thursday night and found the spot on yelp super close with great reviews! To our surprise, when we arrived, the place was empty, but the orders were still being fulfilled. So we ordered for dine in but the wait was so long. There were only two people working and making the food from scratch. One employee notice to hungry we were, and brought us some garlic bread for free! It was so thoughtful of him. Our food came shortly after and it was definitely worth the wait! The ingredients for fresh, the crust was crispy, the cheese was melty and it was probably one of the best deep dish pizzas I've ever had! Chicago knows how to do pizza. Speaking of Chicago the restaurant is decorated with all things Illinois! This is such a cool place with great food and service!

Haik M.

Yelp
I used to get pizza from here for years. I drove from Glendale to the pizza joint on Melrose and get a take out. I just called about an hour ago and greeted with my signature " hey buddy, how are you?" and the person answering the call asks me , "do we know each other? Don't call me buddy, we don't know each other !!! " I was in shock for a second and he hung up lmaooo I didn't want to call back and apologize for my friendly greeting and drive all the way from Glendale. I chose another Chicago pizza joint ;)
google avatar

Kristhine F.

Yelp
My go-to pizza spot for some AUTHENTIC Chicago deep dish. First of all, the owners are originally from Chicago, and they definitely know what they're doing in the kitchen. Whether you're dining in or ordering take-out, the food is still mouthwatering and touches base on exactly what you look for in a deep dish pizza. The atmosphere feels very warm and welcoming. Last but not least, the overall service and hospitality was truly above and beyond. It's hard to come across a spot that makes you feel extremely welcomed that you feel so at home. That being said, our party of 6 was well taken care of. We got the chance to chat it up a bit with (who I believe may be the owner) and he is just an awesome human being. He was so generous with his service. It's places like this that play a role in building strong communities and also remind you that great people still exist.
google avatar

Lee ..

Yelp
I grew up in Chicago & this is the closest thing to Chicago stuffed pizza I've found. Two slices & I'm stuffed more than the pizza. The thin crust is amazing as well so if you're a pizza lover, you have to try this place! Clean, casual ambiance, & the service always has a smile on their face! Go get some!
google avatar

Jake S.

Yelp
Went in at 1 AM for late night dinner. Pie of goodness! Nice owner and business. Highly recommend #chicagopizaa. I'll be back for sure. The decore was nice made me feel like I'm east coast!
google avatar

Bryan Y.

Yelp
This is the ONLY Chicago style pizza that passes the test for me in all of Southern California. Better than Gino's, Rance's, Masa, Union, Patxi's in Santa Barbara (the LA location was straight garbage), Blackbird, Rosati's (my older brother lives near there), Uno when I lived in Maryland and traveled to a dozen states around from the Midwest to Northeast. You don't need to worry about lack of thickness and layers here, thick sauce in each layer, great toppings (I always get the Windy City, my friends sometimes get lesser topping ones), and they just hit. 2 slices gets you stuffed proper. I can't trust anywhere else after this place and I live an hour away and will make the drive every time I crave Chicago pizza. The owner serves you bread knots with sauce while you wait when dining inside, it's a smaller shop but nice interior. The right selection of bottled pops and drinks in the fridge. I get it, these pies take a while to make and they're fork and knife. It's worth it, don't come here if you're in a rush to pick pizza up for the family and only have 15 minutes. It's one of the best things (and open at night) in the area.
google avatar

Jennifer N.

Yelp
Gio was so friendly and the pizza was amazing! Homemade sauce was delish!!! We went before going to The Improve.... Great little spot if you are in the area... we split a small and brought home 1/2 the pizza!
google avatar

Victoria B.

Yelp
Pizza was incredible! Also the service is amazing! ambiance very nice, thank you so much
google avatar

Marisela C.

Yelp
BEST PIZZA EVER!!! we met the owner and his service and attentiveness were nothing short of amazing. It was late and my girls and I came after a concert and we're blown away. We got the fuego pizza and it was the perfect combo of fresh yet filling. You can tell he uses good ingredients. Definitely coming back to try the entire menu. It's quaint but the ambiance is laid back and perfect for larger groups. 9/10

D K.

Yelp
Was really optimistic. Place looked clean, staff was friendly, pizza looked pretty in the to go box. But it was disappointing. Almost Pizza Hut pan pizza disappointing. I only went once so maybe they had an off night, but I haven't gone back and can't say I'm tempted to. Just a less than blah experience and most just went in the trash.
google avatar

Carlos D.

Yelp
We had a great first-time deep dish experience here! The ambiance was very cozy and the owner Gio really made it an experience, he was very kind and kept checking up on us. You can tell he puts his whole heart into this restaurant and his craft. Will be coming back!!!!
google avatar

Ron W.

Yelp
Pizza was dry/undersauced, unpleasantly doughy, and the toppings tasted generic. Not terrible but not something I'd recommend.
google avatar

Michelle L.

Yelp
Awesome food, great atmosphere, super chill We ordered the meat lovers Chicago style which was delicious as well as a combo platter with onion rings, mushrooms & mozzarella cheese sticks. The owner Tommy provided excellent service and even gave us some garlic knots as we were waiting- those were BOMB as well Thank you, Tommy, for a great night out at your restaurant
google avatar

Christian A.

Yelp
By far the most authentic Chicago style pizza I've ever tasted outside of Chicago. From the food to the service by the owner Gio it was 11/10 experience that I completely recommend. LA could definitely use more restaurants with owners like Gio who you can tell genuinely cares about his customers and does his best to provide the best experience ever while he makes the amazing food. Thank you for the above and beyond customer service Gio it definitely went a long way for me and will be visiting more often.

Jeff G.

Yelp
The best pizza in Los Angeles. The deep dish and the thin crust pizzas are the best Ive ever had. Gio, the owner, is an amazing guy.
google avatar

Londie L.

Yelp
Well sad to say that the owner specifically stated that once we left the location with the pizza he had no control over the results. I called because the pizza was actually raw inside and for $35.00 I expected better quality. I was very sad about this because I was really looking forward to this Chicago Style Pizza and was hoping to have a great experience as everyone else. The reviews seemed so good and we were not far from the location. I had to leave a one star because at least when we visited I was hoping for a better result.
google avatar

Sadie B.

Yelp
ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS! Enough said. The salad, the mozzarella sticks, & the deep dish. Plus Gio is such a sweetie. 10/10.

Mike B.

Yelp
We've been looking for Chicago deep dish pizza like this for over a decade! We even live in Illinois and haven't been able to find deep dish pizza like this out there. Most Chicago deep dish pizza's just make a thicker crust and use the typical amount of toppings. Here, they use a thinner crust, essentially making it a pizza lasagna, lol!! Flavor was amazing and the homemade sauce was delicious! And the size, well, our 17 year old son tapped out after 2 slices. The owner, Gio, was extremely friendly and the service was fantastic. We'll definitely be coming back every time we visit our son in college, and would recommend Chicago Stuffed Pizza to anyone who's looking for a delicious deep dish pizza.
google avatar

Geo G.

Yelp
My first time having Chicago Style Pizza. I was drawn to this place because of the comments and high reviews. The pizza is very decadent and very hearty. If you are a big eater like myself, you will only need two slices. The one staff greeted us and was very attentive. The complimentary garlic knots with marinera sauce were delicious. Its a small place but the ambiance is great. The place is full of lots of chicago sport memorabilia. Over all great experience.

Jazmin A.

Yelp
Thought I was in Chicago! The food was amazing, spectacular service. One man show and he ran the entire place smoothly. Good music, and friendly owner. Never had to ask for refills, he noticed everything and quickly came to us with exactly what we needed. I would absolutely stop by here if you're in the mood for some yummy pizza!!!!
