Chicago Style Gyro

Nice place and good service from the lady working the counter. I got an Italian beef + gyro burger (not pictured). The Italian beef was alright. I probably should have done it without the cheese because it felt like it took away from the giardiniera and the beef. The gyro burger was pretty good. The beef/lamb is sliced really thin compared to the other places that I’ve had and it was still tasty. I liked the salt and sumac fries, gave it this tart flavor kind of like lemon pepper but better.

This place has incredible Greek fries! Add lamb meat and they're out of this world!!! The service is always friendly and the environment is always clean. We've become regulars here and drive in from Alto just for the Greek fries!

This place is so charming. The smallest little hole in the wall with minimal signage/branding and they load your gyro up with food; you know it’s an honest place. I went there with my partner who asked for jalapeños on his gyro and I saw him mark the outside wrapping (normal and nice courtesy) we get home, turns out he marked them as “his” and “hers” 🥹🥹🥹 so cute and the food was SCRUMPTIOUS 🥙🧆

Went here for lunch with a friend. Awesome food, great price. Service was friendly and prompt. Parking was great as it wasn't too busy, which is surprising to me as I'd happily have this local place in my rotation! Got a burger, fries, and mozz sticks and left satisfied!

While visiting GR, my husband and I stopped by at this restaurant. The parking is on the left hand side of the restaurant. Their gyro was delicious and highly recommend it! The lamb sandwich was an interesting flavor combination of Mediterranean food and American style sub sandwiches. The owner is so down to earth and kind. Great service. They have all measures set up for COVID-19 to make sure your visit is safe and enjoyable.

Spontaneous Dinner Decision turned into a very good food experience. The service was nice, even if it took some time till we got served. We got the gyro with fries and it was a good choice. Being from Germany I’m used to the way of choosing the different toppings for the Gyros, and I really liked it. The portions are big, all vegetables super fresh, the seasoning of all elements on point and I want to emphasize: the fries were amazingly crisp and seasoned. The bill was lower than expected, so it was a really good dinner choice overall. Just the interior of the restaurant could be easily upgraded - but I don’t think that most of the customers are eating in.

This place came recommended by Bagel Kitchen and it did not disappoint! The staff was friendly and engaging, but it's really the food that sold us!

We order take out from here at least once a month and it is always amazing! We order via phone every time and have never dined in. Our food is always hot and fresh when we pick it up and it retains the heat until home. The authenticity that this food brings is top tier! The lamb is always nice and lean with meaty pieces. I love the salad and it's always loaded with veggies. Pro tip: when ordering a platter, get the salad on the side vs with the platter so that the entree isn't mixed with the salad. We always see the same man when we pick up so we assume he must be the owner and he's always so kind. Love this place!

This place is a sleeper pick for anyone who's looking for a quick and delicious gyro in Grand Rapids. Service was exceptional - the guys running the place are funny, friendly, and serve jokes almost as well as their food. The West Side continues to impress me with spectacular authentic dining options.

This restaurant is pretty unassuming from the exterior, but it's clear there is a lot of pride in the quality of food within. I ordered the gyro salad with all of the toppings. There is bar of fresh ingredients that you can add to your salad or wrap to customize it to your specific taste. I HIGHLY recommend the pepper relish! It's not too spicy, but adds punch of flavor. It was delicious! Completed my meal with a couple pieces of baklava. So good!

I can't wait to go back. I live up by Big Rapids where the restaurants are seriously lacking in deliciousness. The great things about the gyro is that it's wrapped perfectly to place in your cup holder when you're driving and it stays together well in its paper wrapping, and it's soooooo yummy. I'm looking forward to the next time I'm in GR so I can try something else. Chicago style gyro is just off Leonard and there is a free parking lot next door.

The food is refreshing and tasty, I got the chicago style gyro the first time I went there. This Tim I got the falafel sandwich which I also delicious. The service is friendly and fast. The store itself could use a spruce but it doesn't look dirty.

I am from Chicago. I am sorry but I ordered a Gyro and a Italian Beef sandwich. I was So disappointed. I really wanted a refund. maybe I went on the wrong day, but the food was so bad I threw it away. I will not be returning.

I randomly decided to order from them on Uber eats and OMG absolutely delicious, chicken is juicy the bread is flavorful and soft but my absolute favorite is the rice I know that sounds pretty boring but my family is Brazilian and we have rice with every meal and this rice might be better than my mothers!

I come to Chicago Style Gyro several times a month for lunch. The gyro salads are huge and the couple who own the joint are extremely nice. Soccer game always on the tv and the freshest toppings. I bring new people here whenever I get a chance.

I have been a long time customer and have yet to be disappointed great gyros and Italian beef sandwiches. Also the owner is always in a good mood. Will be back again.

The food here is phenomenal, and the staff is so kind. Everything I've had here has come out fresh and hot and flavorful. The platters have been my favorite thing so far, as they are always so beautifully balanced and so filling. But the food never feels too heavy! It's always fresh and light. I recommend adding the spicy topping to the Greek salad, it elevates the flavors so much. The entire time I'm eating my meal, I'm just raving about how perfect it is!! If you're a fan of Mediterranean style food, this restaurant is a must.

Let me be the first to say that I was WRONG about this place. It was good the first time and maybe my tastebuds were a little off, but this place definitely deserves 5 stars. Went back for the Chicago gyro and omg. The freshest gyro I've had in awhile. Also a must have is their baklava!!! Trust me, you will not regret that first bite. Give this place a chance if you're downtown. Even my husband said this place deserves a chef's kiss and that says A LOT!

Stopped by due to the yelp reviews... Had the Chicago gyro combo... phenomenal is the word. So damn good. Only thing I wish they had was homemade pita bread. But the bread they have is still good. The fries are really seasoned well and are very tasty. Also my wife had a gyro dinner which she also equally thought was great. Comes with a salad and rice w the gyro meat as well as bread. Also a hot dog for my youngest who scarfed it down. And to top it off baklava. Wow was it good. Certainly getting it again. Service was friendly and nice. Prices are affordable. Definitely will be back to try more of the menu.

If you're the kind of person that complains because the food takes long to come out... Go somewhere else! But if you appreciate fresh and quality, check this place out. We got, what we always get, the Chicken Shish Kebab Platter and they make your food to order, so it's fresh and hot. As my daughter and I prepared to attack our feast, the staff payed attention to our expressions as we took our first bite. I can ALWAYS count on them to make my meal fresh and delicious!

AMAZING I got the Philly steak and the flavor was the best. It tasted so fresh and the fries that come with it a lightly seasoned with a sweet and salty seasoning. Costumer service was 10/10 they were all very friendly!

I ordered a Chicago Gyro with Fries. They both were amazing. You pick fresh toppings for the gyro and the chef and his assistant were amazing. Fast and great tasting food. Easy parking as well.

I had been looking for a good gyro spot in GR since I moved here. I found this place as I was near the area. I ordered the chicken gyro combo and baklava for pick up. The service was quick and the people working are super friendly! They also had masks on! The gyro was fantastic, and the fries were seasoned perfectly. The meat wasn't dry at all and it was seasoned perfectly. The lettuce, tomatoes, onions and sauce definitely came together really well. The baklava was also very tasty and not overly sweet. I will definitely be going back to this place and trying something else next time.

Came here in the afternoon of Black Friday, the store was quite empty and the guy (not sure if that's the owner) was nice and warmly greeted us. We got a gyro wrap combo and gyro platter. Generous portions and the fries are so so good. They are crispy on the outside and soft on the inside and the the seasoning (lemon garlic salt?) is on point. The worker was really fast, hardworking and we enjoyed our food. Would come back often if we lived close. Very happy to support local small business.

Ordered the Chicken Platter and a side of Hummus. The chicken/rice/salad platter was delicious. It was a great sized portion and had great seasoning. I really liked the dipping sauce. It came with a huge pita bread if you wanted to make a wrap. The 4 stars is because the hummus was not my favorite and the rice was clumpy and sticky and not in a great way. It was bland. The pita bread that came with it was warm and yummy. I would eat here again.

My bf and I both got the gyro combo and hummus delivered for lunch today and I am currently typing this while fighting off a food coma. The gyros were SO good, the meat was not dry and the portions are huge; definitely have another meal out of it. The humus comes with freshly made pita and is definitely a generous portion, also super good. The fries with the gyro combo were well seasoned. We got a side of tzatziki sauce each (I think it was like $1 extra) and it was also super good!! I highly recommend this place if you're looking for a good, reasonably priced meal that will definitely provide you with leftovers!

I have been going to CSG for several years with a co-worker or 2 usually at least once or twice a month. Artise and Ness took over from their aunt and uncle and do a great job with both quality and presentation of their food. Their aunts rice recipe is incredible and I recommend it instead of fries. I usually either get the gyro combo or the gyro salad. Ingredients are very fresh with a great variety. The gardenia is a great finish to either. Have also had the steak sandwiches that were very satisfying. For something different the loaded fries are fantastic but show up hungry.

Price is not bad but the gyros were dry and not what we expected. I think I'd the gyros had sauce on them they would for sure be a four. Not sure if they always come without sauce? Or if it was a mistake on our order? But regardless as we ate it would not recommend it's

Great gyros and quick service. I've been there a few time now. I call ahead and my sandwich is ready when I arrive in less than 10 minutes.

This is the perfect place to grab lunch and my team and I often order together because we love it so much! I try hard to eat healthy and so I have always order the Gyro Salad, which is less that $10! It's a huge salad made of chopped romaine lettuce. I really appreciate this because so many places just use iceberg, which I find flavorless and lacks nutrition. When you order the salad they have all the toppings for the gyros available for the salad. Off of memory, they provide feta cheese, onion, pickled beets, jalapenos, green peppers, black olives, tomatoes, Mild pickled veggie slaw and a Spicy pickled veggie slaw. They build it in front of you so you can add extra stuff if you want. They also ask if you want oil and balsamic vinegar. I usually just get the oil because they also provide tzatziki sauce which is the PERFECT dressing. They also add some sort of red colored gyro seasoning before the veggies go on and after the meat gets added, which adds a layer of yumminess. The service is so friendly and I always see them making a huge effort to make sure the food is fresh, hot and prepared how you like it. Please show them some love and give it a try! It makes my heart happy when I walk in and there are multiple customers. Chicago Style Gyro deserves it! PS the Greek Fries are the BOMB . com

Low key on the outside. Big flavor on the inside. We had the Chicago Style Gyro sandwich and it was delicious! We loved the homemade taziki sauce, the falafel and the baklava. My only complaint is I wish we had gotten more baklava. It was so good! Great prices and we will definitely be back if we are ever in the area again.

The gyro salad is bomb! They put lots of meat and the dressing with the tzatziki sauce is so good and they give you a lot of it! And it's a good price!

This has become our go-to spot thanks to quarantine and trying new places. Great prices, everything is always fresh and the staff is friendly. We both love the fold up gyro combo with everything, a side of fries and a coke. The fries are seasoned to perfection and are super addicting. This place is a must!!!!

This place was great! They had a lunch special that I got 9$ with tax! It came with a gyro, fries and a drink. The sandwich had ample meat and veggies on it. The flavors were all there and great. The fries have a seasoning on them that enhanced the flavor. It was all very good. The ketchup on the table was terrible. It was some brand I never heard of before and apharently for good reason. It was nasty. The parking situation is slim. It is a dirt lot full of pot holes and people who cannot park straight. It is also shared with 2 other places. There is some on street parking. The place is kind of rundown. Painted worn out floor. Really old furniture. It was definately a dive type place.

This place makes the best gyro I have ever ate. I've tried many places and this one comes out on top against any place in Michigan. The owner is the kindest man and is always so excited to serve his customers. All of the items I've tried here are beyond wonderful. Love this place and would recommend to anyone and everyone!

First time trying this place. Always passed it and always wanted to try it. We placed a delivery order which was convenient and actually pretty fast. I ordered a beef sandwich but what I got was a Philly cheese steak. A little disappointed because I am originally from the south side and was in the mood for a beef sandwich and unfortunately there are no Pop's or Portillo's here. But for all I know, this place does make their beef sandwiches with cheese. But that's not a beef sandwich. I would definitely go back though, it's great portions and decently priced!

What a good eat! We live in Cleveland and we stopped there after the BBQ place across the street was closed. I have to say it was probably the best gyro I've ever had. My gf always passes on this type of food saying " I can get better at home". She absolutely loved it. We highly recommend this place!

We had the Chicago style gyro and Chicago style salad. Both amazing. I also love Turkish coffee and it was great here too. From the sauce to all ingredients, everything tasted great and I will be back again.

Went there today... from Chi town... their gyros are fairly good. Not quite the spice level in the lamb that most real Chicago gyros have, but still pretty tasty. Would recommend.

I made an assumption that because it looks like a hole-in-the-wall that it didn't deserve my stopping in. I can not convey to you how wrong I was. FOOD: Best gyro in this city. I have to say I'm very picky when it comes to gyros and Greek food in general. I had an original Gyro (lamb/beef) with cucumber sauce and onions. Freaking perfect. Soft, flavorful pita bread. Wonderfully seasoned NON-greasy gyro meat. Best cucumber sauce I've had in GR. Very well priced. Lunch special was gyro/large drink/fries for $6.99 SERVICE: To-the-point yet helpful folks behind the counter. A very friendly older gentleman (I assume the owner) came out and talked with us. Without my asking he made me a to-go cup of Kurdish tea and asked me to taste it. This tea is SO GOOD! Very chai-esque. He wanted me to take it home and enjoy it :) SO nice to be greeted by local business owners like this. ATMOSPHERE: Honestly, this place does not look like anything special from the outside. It's very easy to just walk by without noticing it. Please don't though-- do yourself a favor and stop in some time. Inside is SO different! Very nice sunshine-filled dining space with relaxing decor. A side-room has different tables and a couch. Very welcoming. I'll be coming back here again and again.

I've been coming here for the past 3 years and have enjoyed every gyro I've ordered. Personal favorite is the Chicago Style with cucumber sauce and vegetables! The owner, Paki, is the sweetest lady I've met. She's great! :) Love Chicago Style! Well worth every dollar:)
