I've tried several Chicago Tea House blends, and have thoroughly enjoyed every single one: Baked Apple is a delicious fall apple tea blend that tastes like liquid apple pie! Their masala chai is nice and spicy, and has a lovely cardamom forward flavor. The Christmas blend is an amazing spiced holiday tea that I will drink year round. Pineapple Mango was a very tropical tea that was delicious as a cold brew. Blood Orange Black was an amazing citrus black tea, that also was delightful cold. Strawberry potion was an absolutely stunning strawberry fruit tea blend. A great company with delicious teas!!

Chicago Teahouse offers some truly delightful blends. Pineapple Mango is a tropical escape in a cup—fruity, smooth, and never too tart. Blood Orange Black is bold and balanced with vibrant citrus and a rich black tea base. And Strawberry Potion? Pure magic. It tastes like a strawberry pastry and feels like a cozy little spell. Every tea I’ve tried has been thoughtfully crafted and full of real flavor. Highly recommend! Update of October 1, 2025 I was able to try 3 more teas. The Christmas Tea blends bright orange and almond with cozy cinnamon, cloves, and a touch of vanilla for a festive yet comforting cup. The Masala Chai brews a beautiful copper color and delivers bold, lingering spice notes of ginger, cloves, cinnamon, and cardamom—especially lovely with a splash of cream. And the Baked Apple captures the sweet, nostalgic taste of homemade baked apple desserts, with gentle cinnamon adding warmth without overpowering the fruit. Each tea has felt like a little moment of comfort in a cup.

I tried 3 fruit teas and definitely enjoyed all 3. Strawberry Potion was full of sweet, sunny, full-on strawberry flavor without the overly sugared or artificial taste of many other strawberry teas. The Blood Orange Black blend was full of zesty and smooth orange. The orange wonderfully did not overwhelm the black tea. The final tea was Pineapple Mango. To this, I added local wildflower honey and received a delicious tropical tea. A strong pineapple flavor enriched by mango with floral notes was refreshing. All 3 teas were expertly crafted with harmonious flavor. I certainly will revisit these teas. I recently (9/29/25) tried the Christmas Tea, a seasonal tea. This is a delightful cup of spice and warmth. Perfect for the holiday season. It starts with a bold black tea, then it's clove forward with citrus and vanilla notes with a hint of cinnamon. It would be perfect on a cold morning with cranberry scones or orange rolls.

As someone who truly loves tea, this shop was an absolute delight to visit. The selection is both thoughtful and inspiring—every blend feels curated with care. The staff welcomed me with genuine enthusiasm, guiding me through options and helping me discover flavors that matched my preferences. What stood out most was the experience: it wasn’t just about buying tea, it was about learning, tasting, and connecting. I just dropped in bc it looked good, I wasn't even planning to buy anything. The staff are super nice they recommended every single tea after asking about my taste. It was the best shopping experience in Chicago! I highly recommend it to anyone who visits Chicago. Thank you ♥

Strawberry Potion It smelled so amazing as soon as I opened the package. It brewed a pretty amber color. The strawberry flavor was so wonderful, and the black tea was nice and smooth. There was a hint of sweetness already, so I didn't need to add anything to it. This one would make an excellent iced tea! I really liked this one! Blood Orange Black This tea was really good! It steeped up a lovely orange color. The citrus is bright and refreshing. Very bold zesty flavors. Citrus and black tea just go so well together. I didn't add anything to this one, I thought it was perfect as is. I really enjoyed trying this one! Pineapple Mango I loved this tea! It's very tropical tasting with pineapple and mango flavors. There was a little bit of floral notes. I thought it was so unique! It's sweet and fruity. There's so much flavor in this tea, its so delicious! I didnt add anything to this one. I thought it was great as is. Perfect tea to sip on this summer. This one is definitely a new favorite of mine!

Strawberry Potion from the Chicago Teahouse is a new favorite! Let me just start this off by saying I was impressed the moment I opened this bag of tea and could smell the intense strawberry aroma. Closing my eyes, this transported right back to happy memories of childhood surrounded by strawberry shortcake. I love Strawberries and they are the quintessential summer fruit. I have had my fair share of strawberry flavored teas that fell flat for me. This Strawberry potion must have the magical secret, because the strawberry flavored shined through and was naturally sweet enough that I did not need to sweeten at all to enjoy this flavored black tea. It was a perfect combination of natural sweetness, true strawberry flavors, and smooth and flavorful cup. This one is on the reorder list for sure and highly recommend. I cannot wait to try it again iced and maybe even as a sun tea.

Strawberry Potion from Chicago Tea Company is a delightful and magical elixir of strawberries, black tea and strawberry leaves. With a base of black tea, this strawberry forward blend holds just a bit of tartness to it, which keeps it from being cloying. It ingredients also holds many health benefits including improving the immune system and is good for cardiovascular functions. From the package, the aroma of strawberry is very apparent with its sweetness that carries over to when it steeps. I prepared mine in 200 degree water and let it steep for four minutes resulting in a lovely sherry colored infusion. Its flavor produces a sweet and fruity taste, balanced with the classic, bold flavor of black tea. I didn’t find it needs sweetened but I did find the addition of a sweetener really heightened the fruit filled flavor. This is a wonderful tea that I imagine would be wonderful as a cold brew. For a fruit lover like me, I loved every bit of this morning treat.

This place has some delicious teas and amazing customer service. When I first came in, I purchased a salty caramel black tea. They had a little left of an older formulation that they were phasing out, and the lady behind the counter said it was richer than the new formulation. So, I purchased the older one, and asked for a sample of the newer one. When I tried the older one, it didn't have much flavor. I bet it tasted great when it was new, but since they were phasing it out, due to a change in suppliers, they only had a little left. If you know teas, you know that over time, they can loose their flavor. But when I tasted the sample of the newer formulation, it was delicious! It was salty, and caramelly, and just yum! I reached out via email, asking if they would allow me to exchange the bag I purchased of the older formulation, for a bag of the newer formulation, and offered to pay the difference in cost. The owner of the store responded back that they would be happy to exchange it at no cost. I was floored by her generosity, and thrilled that I would be able to drink one of my new favorite teas! I brought my partner here who also loves tea, and he bought the earl grey, which has a very strong bergamot flavor. Again, delicious! I can't speak highly enough about this place, and intend to keep coming back. My hope is that I can find teas that each of my friends like, and get them hooked on it too! ;) The ambiance of the place is cute and chic. There are a couple stools to sit on by the counter where they make your tea, but mainly this seems to be a buy and take to go shop. Oh! And they have matcha whisk holders for sale. I had been looking for one specifically made in Japan, and they hand some! So, now my whisk will hold its shape! Highly recommend you stop by and check this place out!

Wonderful tea shop! It smells amazing inside! So many choices of loose leaf teas! I ordered one of the specials, a pistachio pumpkin tea latte. Friendly and helpful staff. So many cool tea accessories to look at. I bought a beautiful china mug with "The Kiss" artwork by Klimt on it. I love that painting and this mug also has a lid on it, and a strainer inside for loose leaf tea. Limited seating, only a few tables so it's more of a to-go place but it's only a few blocks from the lake so it's a lovely location.

Service was attentive, professional, and pleasant. The shop is neat and organized, it made it easy to browse. The chocolate cake tea is excellent, we've not tried the others yet (vanilla cinnamon I think, and Marzipan). The shop felt a little sterile, but it could be that we had just left another tea shop with a different vibe. I'd recommend giving it a try.

Amazing and large tea selection. Staff is knowledgeable about all of the tea. Stopped by to pick up a bag of seasonal tea. The name has changed since, I was here a few years ago. I am told they are the same owners and the name change was just rebranding. Last time I was here I picked up the Chicago Mix Tea, now I am told that it is the Windy City Mix. They sell tea to brew at home and they also brew tea on site for you to enjoy there or to go.

Such a cute and cozy spot . Staff is friendly and helpful . Tea is delicious and they have amazing chocolates and caramels .

Came here for a yelp event and im super happy i attended. Great experience and customer service. The staff are super friendly and knowledgeable about tea and really help you find your drink. I got the pu-erh pistachio with honey. The storefront is cute and slightly tucked away so keep a look out!

I want to give a raving review to the staff member who assisted me this Friday in the afternoon whose name I did not get unfortunately. I came in hoping for a recommendation for tea that would help with general upset stomach. I'd been feeling queasy all day and decided that water wasn't going to help anymore. I described my issue and she whipped up a lovely concoction of Spearmint amongst other things . It really helped! Could I have done this myself? Maybe but I appreciate the knowledge of tea properties, the attention and care put into my tea and calming atmosphere of the tea shop. I was told they can hold tea tastings as well so I'm very excited to come back in the future.

I came here on a Thursday afternoon and it was pretty empty except for 2 workers. I've been wanting to come here since I heard about them at the Christkindlmarket a few years ago. I love the ambiance inside because it's such a chill vibe. I love the smell of the different kind of teas they have on display and behind the counter. The lady told me they ONLY have over 200 kind of teas for me to choose from. I got the grape tea as part of the Yelp Event and it was so sweet of Yelp to also include a little jar of honey as well. The grape tea was perfect for the chilly weather in Chicago and I was feeling something fruity that day. I also bought a small pack of Irish tea for my in laws because they're tea lovers. I cannot wait to come back here whenever I am in the area to try out more teas! The workers here are super nice and helpful when you're indecisive of what kind of tea you want. They offer amazing recommendations depending on your mood or the seasonality we're in!

Online shows differing information. 1 listing says the tea is in stock if purchased in the tin. Another link shows it out of stock. I call to confirm and the entity answering the call seemed to have been having "issues" saying if online shows it's out then it's out. Click. Love Chicago Teahouse! The pistachio pumpkin tea with cream was delicious. I purchased chocolate cake tea leaves that I can't wait to try. Note- there's no indoor seating.

Service was very friendly and helpful answered all my questions! The pistachio seasonal tea was perfect! I bought the Maple Magic and was offered a free sample so I picked dandelion root! I can not wait to sit and share this seasonal tea. I'll be back to try the next seasons offerings! The only thing that there was only 3 seats but we made it work and they even bright out an extra stool. Quaint spot!

Very good selection of excellent quality teas. I'm a tea nerd and have taken a number of tea classes. In my experience, the best way to judge a tea seller's quality is by their selection and quality of unflavored teas. The second flush Assam I got here was really delicious. Their flavored teas smelled good, too.

Wonderful tea shop with a great variety! They are on the pricey side. It would be great if they sold 2oz portions or tester teas versus having to purchase a larger amount at a time. Wonderful staff as well

Lovely place! Eden was very helpful with explanations of the teas and accommodating letting us take a whiff, haha. So far out of the items we purchased I've tried the Royal Samovar (robust black) and the Winter Jam (dried fruit/spice) and they've been delicious. Excited to try the East Frisian, whose tea tradition I haven't seen for sale anywhere else. Also picked up Gunpowder Temple of Heaven and Pu-erh Pistachio - I don't typically go for flavored teas, but the aroma of this one blew me away. They also gave us samples upon request - of Nepal Ilam and even of award-winning gyokuro. I will definitely be back to restock. Fully recommend this place. (They also seemed to have a decent selection of teawares, but we were not in the market for that.)

The person helping with my order was so nice here. The variety of teas makes me want to go back immediately. I was definitely impressed with my order.

This is a well stocked and darling little tea house. My sister and I love herbal teas. The staff was friendly and helpful. The Mango Rosemary and Strawberry Moringa are delicious! When we're in town we will happily shop here.

My fiancée and I came in by chance to see what types of tea the guys had. I really like the atmosphere, very tasty tea and amazing staff! We couldn't leave without taking a cup of tea.

I LOVE this place!!! Every time I visit Chicago I have to stop here. Customer service has ALWAYS been amazing. This last visit Simone assisted me and she was finamanal. Their Almond Milk tea (its now called something else) is my FAVORITE!!!
