Chicana Vegana

With Chicana Vegana being conveniently located right next to the Fullerton Metrolink station, the two of us wandering vegans had to check it out. We phoned in a pickup order and the food was ready in 5-10 minutes. First, the chili cheese dog ($8.75). I believe this is limited edition, and it's not even listed on the menu on the TV display. It was fantastic. It's exactly what you'd expect from a chili cheese dog. Chili, vegan cheddar cheese, and chopped red onions messily poured onto an impossible hot dog with a brioche bun. It was so good. I dislike the majority of vegan hot dog brands such as Field Roast, but Impossible always gets you right. And it was only $8.75! Next, the Biscoff Cupcake. I was WOWED. The Biscoff flavor really shines. It tastes just like the cookie, but in the form of a juicy cupcake. This is probably THE best cupcake I've ever had.

Loved jackfruit burritos. Just amazing! Absolute vegan restaurant. Good place to hang out with friends and family. Desserts looks very delicious, will visit again to try more items.

Tbh is hard to find a really good vegan Mexican food place but this one is good. However all the proteins tasted the same. Street parking in front and around

It was a fantastic experience with fantastic food. We shared the Wild West burger with chili cheese fries. We also tried the Mexgogi taco. Brownie and bringing a cupcake home. We enjoyed the friendly atmosphere. Also they have a dining patio in the back. Order your food and go around they will bring it to you.

This is by far one of the best vegan burgers/burgers I have ever had. This to me was better than plant power, nice burger etc. if you are vegan and you love burgers, try this spot. Even our non-vegan friend called this one of the best burgers he has ever had. We will definitely be coming back. Thank you for the wonderful service

This place is amazing. If I lived in Cali, this would be a regular stop. The burgers are amazing and the tacos too. The animaless fries and tres leches cake is INSANELY good. The staff are pleasant and parking is not difficult.

Wide variety of options and everything we ordered was delicious! The service was excellent and the restaurant is clean. Also kid friendly.

Absolutely Amazing! We came here after spending a few hours at the train station a few blocks away.y My grandfather is vegan and has Celiac disease. The first time we came here. I was absolutely AMAZED by the food. Vegan food and real food are getting harder to differentiate nowadays, saying that as a meat eater. The service is incredible, they asked us questions multiple times to make sure our order was the best it could be. We not come here for lunch every time we are at the train station. The only place this thing is missing, is AWARDS! Way to go, Chicana Vegana!

This vegan place is extremely delicious and also food portion are very good I would definitely recommend it to anyone that's interested in tasty vegan meals. GREAT!

Solid vegan place!! I love the variety of options and that they focus on Mexican dishes! Between the Mexgogi Classico & El Classico burritos, I enjoyed El Classico the most. The canned taste of the beans hinders the burritos, but if you can get past that, they're both pleasant! For that reason, next time I'd order with light beans & extra cilantro & onion. The red (?) salsa I got with the burritos elevated the experience! The location is cute, service is friendly and efficient. Parking is convenient considering this location is in downtown!

Downtown Fullerton- Parking in the back- you can walk around or through another storefront to get to the front as Chicana does not have a back entrance. The food is tasty and looks delicious. I love that everything is vegan and some items made with Jackfruit! (Sometimes slightly Burnt pieces) A very cute place and good fresh food

I hate to say this, but it seems like many vegan joints are amazing from the start and slowly start to decline as the time goes by. This would be the perfect example. I used to love this place and would come here very often. I hadn't been here in a couple years and I can easily say I will never come back. I ordered the Mexican Bulgogi fries that were supposed to come with sauce and they came with absolutely no sauce ... it was just dried french fries with a little bit of vegan meat for $15.. I ate some of the meat and had to throw it away. Let's get to the quesadilla .. The tortilla was really dry and hard to swallow.. if you live by a sugar taco or vegatinos, do yourself a favor and go there you'll get a bigger portion that actually tastes better comes, comes with chipotle sauce, and is the same price. Even the agua fresca de jicama was bad. I make it at home and I know it can taste good. It was extremely sour and I also had to throw this away.. Lastly, I purchased the tres leches it tasted exactly like arroz con leche but I have also had way better ones.. it was dry in the middle. the sugar cookie was also really dry and hard to swallow.. What got me is how could they forget to put the sauce and just gave me $15 french fries with a sprinkle of meat.. ordered pick up I didn't look at the fries until I got home. not to mention it seemed like air conditioning was out and it was extremely hot in there. Please be mindful. I also had my boyfriend and Mom try this stuff and they both agreed it was not good. We couldn't even salvage the french fries as they were extremely dry. I will never come here again.

A cool & chill little business with delicious tacos! I ordered 3 tacos initially. They were so good, I ordered and ate 3 more. I would've gotten more but I had a family dinner later on. I will be back to try other menu items. Staff are friendly and keep the place clean! They also have a dining patio in the back. Street parking and lot parking here.

Absolutely outstanding! Classic Chicana Vegana that I, and many friends loooove so much! Always innovative and growing! Smh. So impressive! Are any other vegan places changing their menu every month? No. Only, "Chicana Vegana" and now, "Chicana". Love. Love. Love. Shout out to Steven for his hard work, dedication, and excellent leadership and customer service! Thank you brother kine! Overdue review! I've been here a few times and everything has been absolutely delicious. Even the meat eaters I've brought here have found it great and wouldn't mind coming here over a traditional meat place. I've had burritos and fries. I prefer the burrito since it doesn't feel over sauced (I've had the clasico and cali). The fries can feel pretty heavy and salty, but good to share with others. Def recommend! The place is small so not great for a group setting, but can call ahead for pickup.

Got the burrito clasico with al pastor. Service was speedy, and the person working today had great banter. Plenty vegan options to choose from for herbivore pals too. I liked the pineapple! I prefer my burritos less beany and salty, though. Will come back if im in the area

We ordered the carne asada fries (delicious, but a bit too salty). The hot sauce that came with the fries was good and had a really good kick. My bf ordered the mexi gogj burrito and it was good, but we wish it had tomatoes and the white sauce. We ordered a side of the white rice it was $1.08 and worth it.

We stop by here when we go through Fullerton. Fast service. Yummy food. The sauces are yummy! We usually take the tacos to go and enjoy an outside walk.

I've had my eyes and interest on this place for a while, finally made my move and feel complete. Heavily impressed by the food, the Cali Dreamin' burger hit home. We got one as impossible and one beyond (no lettuce) - both with fries. Similar in taste for the burgers, decently seasoned fries, priced ok for the plate. Also got a side of the Mac N Cheese in their cashew cheese. That improved my whole afternoon. I'd like to try one of their burritos next and see how they put those together. We went during an oddly slow lunch hour. The chick working the register was very friendly, educated me on their menu, and checked in for feedback on our choices towards the end of the meal. Clean restaurant, very colorful and welcoming.

Plenty of seating. Parking is easy. The variety on thee u is good. I chose nachos -protein was carnitas. Flavor was good the ooziness of cheese was good. I added more salsa. Also the Salsas are in house made. I also ordered the mexogolgi taco. That was Delish the sweetness and texture of the meat mimicked meat close. The balance was great. Next was carne asada street taco. All great flavors. I can't wait to try the burrito next and also fries.

First time trying this while I was in Fullerton waiting on the train. I've heard of vegan spots with a similar name so I nearly skipped over them until I checked out their menu. They have chili cheese! If you've been vegan/vegetarian long enough, you know 'animal style' burger/fries are common, while plant-based chili cheese is more rare. So that immediately caught my attention and warranted a try. The decor and ambiance of this place is nice. They have patio/outdoor seating around the corner and a handful of tables and chairs and tables inside. A nice sized, clean restroom. This isn't a big place, but it's very efficient in that they clearly make the most of everything they do have so it doesn't feel lacking in any way. I had to order the things that I feel really show the measure of a vegan restaurant-mac n cheese, jr cheeseburger, chili cheeseburger, chili cheese fries and the basic breakfast sandwich. I wanna know that your cheeseburger is actually cheesy, same with the mac. Also, how is the cheese, does it have an aftertaste? Is it spot on? Does the breakfast sandwich remind me of the egg McMuffin I grew up loving-I know, I know, we shouldn't be comparing. mac-more soupy than creamy (like Panera) but has a distinguishable taste that is unique to this spot. I enjoyed it. jr cheeseburger-this is juicy. Not bad, just not what I was expecting, not my fav Chili cheeseburger and fries- The chili is on point. The fries are also perfect, nearly made me wish I had a separate order of regular fries to enjoy on their own. I would order both again and add extra cheese. That is what I felt was missing, not enough taste of cheese whether on the jr cheeseburger, or with the chili cheese to balance out the chili. Mexmuffin sandwich-worked for me. I'd ask for grape jelly next time if they have it. Customer service I didn't have an issue with as I ordered online and I think they were training their cashier. Overall, this place is small but mighty. I live about an hour away but would gladly make the drive because this place has a unique menu, what they do they do well enough and I think I heard they have a rewards system (I may be wrong) and I want to order loads more.

Loooved this spot! Found myself in Fullerton for the day and couldn't resist stopping at this cute and fun vegan restaurant! I ordered the asada fries and the Cali dreamin burger and wow!! So so delicious!! The burger was bursting with flavor and the fries were cooked just right with all of the most flavorful ingredients on top. I also ordered a small caesar salad, because who can resist!? And that was just as good as everything else! Even my fiancé loved his Wild West burger! They even have horchata for the pup to sip on! Definitely give this place a try!

If you are plant base or not this is a great place. They have soy & gluten free menu items. Service is good, good music, nice atmosphere. Clean restrooms. Also great place to take pix with friends cool murals. Free water. They advertise on IG special food menus that you won't find on their regular menu. Like Biria and french toast. A must try. This is my go to.

A bit pricy, but it is amazing! The self-serve checkout is super easy and efficient. The food itself is full of flavor, and the menu is extensive. It's awesome!

The mexigogi is addicting! Everything here is delicious, but there's just something about the flavor combination and being on top of french fries makes the mexigogi fries a must have anytime we order here. Tacos, burritos, it's all great. But that mexigogi is my go-to!

Every item I have tried has been amazing! So great to have some tasty vegan options in Fullerton! The staff is very helpful and accommodating. Their Tres Leches cake is the best!

I love the food here. It really is just Mexican food but vegan and it's well beloved by my family members who don't eat meat.

I love it here! I'm not even vegan and I eat here lol The Mexgogi tacos are the best thing in my opinion. I wasn't a fan of the burrito. Love the atmosphere like the design of the restaurant. Only critique is they have no AC. I felt bad for the workers cause I went during summer and it was in the 90s. Poor things

Great food and atmosphere. So happy we discovered this fun little spot. Tasty vegan dishes of all sorts. We've tried the burgers and the loaded fries and the tacos. All of them were delicious. The staff is friendly and helpful and patient. Definitely recommend.

The Mexigogi Clasico with a side of both salsas; packed full of flavors and filling. Salsa was tasteful, heat wise not super spicy. Enjoy a fresh burrito so I dined in. The atmosphere was authentic, with oldies on. Menu had a ton of options to try, might start knocking some off the list. What a lunch visit from the flavorful food, friendly staff and vibrant dine in experience. I would have sat in the patio if I had more time to enjoy it. Thank you Chicana Vegana!

So many options to choose from! Greeted by their friendly staff who answered my many questions. I was craving a burger so I ordered the shroom steak burger with beyond meat. You have an option to choose between beyond and impossible meat. The mushroom gave the burger such a good taste and it also had grilled onions. The pile of fries were nice and crispy. Parking is accessible and there's many shops around to visit. I'll be trying their sopes.

Vegan paradise near Disneyland! We are visiting from out of state so we had a big order and everything came out hot and delicious! My faves were the loaded nachos and the mexigogi fries. The mexigogi is a nice sweet and spicy flavor that I know I will be dreaming about later. The Caesar salad is the underdog. Tasty, crunchy, fresh. The service was friendly and quick. The ambiance inside was nice and chill. A must visit when in the parks area!

I've been coming here for quite sometime now, in the beginning, we came several times while in the area but they were closed. But as we found out they were completely opened, we tried their food. We have ordered the Sopes, El Classic Burrito, Nachos, Signature Fries, Wet Burrito, & Street Tacos, never have I experienced anything negative with their service or food. It's always a pleasure to visit and enjoy a meal. The quality of their food is great, it is consistent and I haven't experienced any change in the taste! Always the same great taste in every bite. What that said, I recommend Chicana Vegana if you're in the mood for some Mexican food and of course if you are in the area.

Vegan Mexican is not something I stumble upon easily so I was keen to try this place. I prefer more veggies in my veg burritos than tofu but the one here was actually pretty good. Filled with fries ( can't go wrong with that !) And tofu it was definitely satiating. Sit down over take out probably would have kept the fries crispy over soft but still good. Nachos were on par although they had tofu and I was kinda done with " meat substitute " after the burrito.

Came to visit Chicana Vegana for their all vegan menu. I have to say this place is bomb there must try protein is the Al Pastor. We got the loader nacho's, street taco, sopes and chili. They were all amazing. For all being vegan, I was extremely surprised and satisfied with all their items. Their staff is amazing. Walkthrough his favorites and give us very good recommendations for first timers. I will not lie but will definitely definitely come back.

The California burritos here are incredible. Both the regular cali and the bulgogi cali were delicious! We also tried some tacos and they were perfect! As a long time vegetarian I have tried many vegan places in OC and this is up there with my top favorite spots!! Expect to wait...but you will be getting extremely fresh food! Worth the wait in my opinion.

Food can be art. Vegan food is especially tricky to do well, but this place succeeds nicely. The flavors are great and there is a decent selection, since you can pick from 4 non-meat proteins, including non-soy if that's important to you. The menu itself is succinct and simple, all posted on the wall. There is a jug of ice water you can fill yourself if you don't want a bottled beverage. The interior is clean and freshly painted, but I don't ever stay. I always take it to go, as there are only a couple small seating areas. Definitely not a place for groups. You're also paying $20 for a burrito that doesn't come with chips or a side or anything, which is slightly more than other similar places. Still, I've come here quite a few times when I was in the area and the service is always friendly and the food is consistently tasty. Always nice to support a smaller local business. Tasty lunch to go, here I come!

I'm so happy I came here in taco Tuesday. I ordered one of each and they were all delicious. My favorite was the mexgogi taco.so much flavor! The service was very friendly and so welcoming. I will come here every time I'm in town.

1) best vegan impossible burger I've ever had, moist and flavorful 2) ordered the schroom but only 2 pieces mushroom and a buttload of onions, caramelized and fried 3) order took forever, as in 25 min, possibly bc no mushrooms in house 4) rude girl at register, no eye contact, total disinterest. Would I go again? Yes!

Had this restaurant on my list for a while and I was in the area so I thought why not! Normally I don't go to very many vegan places, mostly because they're either expensive or not tasty (or both). This one was just expensive lol Food: I got the california bae-rito which is a regular california burrito with fries, al pastor, and guacamole. Pure yum! The al pastor tasted a little like BBQ sauce but I wasn't mad at it. Wish it had a little more sauce though. Service: Service was great. Food came out quickly and there was no line so I didn't have to wait any longer than I had to. T'was a good experience! Would recommend to anybody being more conscious about their diet or planetary footprint.

Heck yes!!! I had the western burger with the impossible patty and it was amazing!! It tasted better than a beef burger. The fries were cooked to perfection. Crispy, crunchy, and not oily. I also ordered a Jicama drink, and that tasted really good too. My friend ordered the pastor street tacos and he said it was really good. Very friendly staff. She explained everything really well. The dining room was clean and well decorated. Great price. I'll definitely be coming back.

Omg the food and service is so spot on here every time and I highly recommend this place to EVERYONE. Vegan or not everything is healthy and comforting and non guilt free! Everything is clean and well taken care of. I love the merch and decor! Highly recommend the service by LUPE and Samantha really help and take care of their customers.

{EDIT: In response to the owner's comment. This is more than just a "SLIGHT CHAR" and "BURNT" to peoples liking. Look at the photos circled in RED. They were not "slightly burnt" they were completely BLACK and INEDIBLE. Those edges were just a tip of the iceberg. Everything else underneath covered by all that stuff hides it from the customers' viewpoint. We've eaten here many times before throughout the years and it was never like this. I don't know what you think your customers like but it's carcinogen that can cause cancer. Making an excuse to use your customers saying they like this stuff is not right. I don't think your customers will eat this. How can the cook even think of serving this to customers and letting it fly out the window like that. Would they eat it? I bet the people that work here aren't even into these types of food and doesn't care because they don't eat it. But other people do care. The nonchalant response from the owner speaks volumes and reflects the attitude of their own employees. Owner didn't even own up to their mistakes just like the employees. Owner never even DM'd me like they said they would. They probably figured we'd never come back anyway. This is bad for your business. This is beyond more than just burned food but service as well. They screwed up the order 3 times. Also look at the photos, THE FOOD IS BLACK.} The cook today must've been having a bad day. The food they serve is really burnt. Not sure what happened to this place but they need to change this. Haven't been here for awhile and my experience was never this bad. They screwed up our order three times. The place literally just opened 6/23/24 and we were the first ones to order. How can they mess that up. It was a simple al pastor fries. Only one order--messed up not once, twice, but three times. First, the al pastor was black and burned. I added photos to show. So we kindly asked them to replace it. When they came with the new batch, the order was wrong. They gave us nachos instead of fries. So we again, returned it to be redone correctly--each time we had to keep getting back in line standing there with the order in our hands. Again, they replaced it, but the third time it got less and worse. Each time the order came back, it was not only wrong and burned, but the quality and amount kept getting less and less. The food was still burnt and the presentation got weaker--which shows inconsistency. It's like they gave up on it. The amount got less and there was barely any meat by the time the third attempt was made. It lacked everything by the end of everything. Less meat, just a bunch of soggy fries at the bottom, and lacked all the stuff on top of it. I think since they kept screwing up the order, they started to skimp out on ingredients toward the end. When it was brought up to the cashier about the meat being burned, her response was "that's how our asada meat comes, the seasoning is like that, I THINK" which means she wasn't sure. We cook plant-based and mock soy meats all the time and it doesn't get burnt like that. I felt it was just an excuse instead of owning up to it. Worse of all they were unapologetic and was nonchalant about the whole thing. For those who eat here, please note that consistently eating their product this way can eventually cause health issues. We sure wouldn't want to be eating this type of food. In the long run would not recommend this place. Service was mediocre and could be better. Show more empathy and be more aware. They also charge $1.00 for a few limes. They messed up the order so many times that they ended up just giving it. This place used to be good and the amount used to be plenty, but today's experience was not the business. For al pastor fries to cost that much, they just loaded nothing but fries and less meat having burning them so many times and messing up the order, they were trying to save money by giving us less. We are don't live down the street as we always drive over 25 miles (to an hour) for years supporting this small business. We don't appreciate our time being wasted. We were REALLY nice about it too. Had they tried better, we would probably be returning to support them.

Great food great service. I love the the verity I just recently tried the burgers and was really surprised by how good it was. It's a bit expensive when u add an Onion ring .

We've tried a lot of vegan Mexican places and they don't do it the way chicana does it. The texture and the taste of all the food is very well done. It leaves you wanting to try more from their menu. The service is straight forward and nice. The art on the wall is great and although it's a small area, the vibes are nice and welcoming. I would definitely recommend this place even if you're not vegan and just want to try some yummy vegan food! Also the photos don't do it justice. Way better in person trust!

I love this place! I've only been here once but can't wait to go back again. My boyfriend who is a meat eater loved his burger and said he couldn't tell a difference. I got the bulgogi tacos and loved them. This place is trendy and located in downtown fullerton. The staff is amazing and patient when reassuring me that absolutely everything was indeed plant based

This vegan spot is truly exceptional! I devoured everything on the menu. The carne asada and mexgogi tacos were perfection, and I can't believe I waited so long to try the mexgogi--it was incredibly mouthwatering. The Philly melt was also delicious. I was a chubby bunny! I can't wait to go back and explore more. Highly recommend!

HOLY COW!!! OR MAYBE HOLY NO COW! ;) Dear Chicana Vegana, Please take my money, all day- everyday. Your food is insanely tasty and suspiciously similar to the real meat dishes being imitating. It is dangerous for my wallet and for my belly, to know that you are only a 20 minute drive away. This is my new go-to for plant-based, cruelty free grub. I will be back; over and over again. Came here twice the past 2 months and asked for no bacon and sub sausage in my breakfast burrito and both times they gave me double bacon. This place lacks attention to detail especially with custom orders.

damn. this place was sooo good. this was probably the best burger i've had in a long time, vegan and non-vegan included. the burger was juicy, the fries were crispy, and the sauce!!! next time i'd get a regular beyond burger instead of the one with bacon tho. it's hard to replicate bacon. the vibes were cute and girly. the service was great too. i like how there was a kiosk for self checkout and a separate cashier one so everyone can have a quick checkout. i'll be back soon. still thinking about that burger....

Wow, the food was amazing! The service upon entry was great. I had my food delivered to The Muck for a business meeting, and all three of us had a delicious meal. Parking is located right behind the actual front entry as they are located off a busy street. I would recommend this place as being super healthy. Especially if you want to try veagan food. The place has lil seating areas but you can feel the give of happiness and great food. Everyone is friendly and super family oriented. I would recommend this place to eat.

This place is such a fun spot to visit when you're in down town Fullerton! I love the cute and fun vibes of the restaurant. They have a giant mural of their mascot on the wall and it's so well drawn. They have a ton of great vegan options here and I've never walked out disappointed. I really love the tres leches cake and the carnitas taco.

Meat eater checking in! I got an asada taco, which was super flavorful and tasty! I also got a wild west burger with seasoned fries, and I loved it even more than a meat based western burger! The cheese added a really nice almost nutty flavor that mixed well with everything else, and the bacon was pretty great too! The girl at the register was super great at making recommendations since it was my first time eating here and answered all of my questions well! The place also has a super cute vibe!

It has been a few weeks since our visit to Chicana Vegana and I'm still dreaming about it. We had a few hours to kill and after reading the menu online and seeing all the colourful images, we went out of our way to check this place out. The space itself is fairly small but had enough seating to accommodate everyone who wanted to eat in. All of the walls are painted bright colours with comic book-style art depicting vegan superheroes rescuing animals. For most menu options, you are given the chance to choose your preferred protein, beyond or impossible for burgers and asada, al pastor, carnitas, or mexgogi for everything else. The portions for everything are HUGE so keep that in mind when you order. I had the mexgogi fries which were as fully loaded as they come. I ate so much and felt like I barely made a dent in the pile. I'm going to be dreaming of Chicana for years to come. It will be a must-visit the next time I'm in the area.

I've had my fair share of vegan Mexican food, and I gotta say this was some of the best! The flavors were 10/10. Portions were solid. And the restaurant was so cute! We had a group of 4 so seating was a little hard because it is pretty small in there, but we managed. They had some interesting options compared to the other vegan Mexican places I've been to. They have a little more than the standard tacos, nachos, and burritos which was cool. I got the wet burrito with asada and wow! So good!! I can't remember the last time I had a wet burrito, and this definitely hit the spot. The only thing I'd say is I've definitely had better vegan asada, but this wasn't bad by any means. My sister got the chilaquiles burrito and that was amazing as well. Everyone in our group (2 vegans and 2 non vegans) loved the food and left with happy tummies. Definitely will be hitting this spot up next time I'm in the area and trying out more!
