"Consider the culinary sister city potential between Lima, Peru, and Sacramento: both capital cities of the Americas that blend and champion the many cultural communities that have flocked to their borders, making them greater than the sum of their parts. How fitting that “chicha” refers to the migration of Peruvians from outside Lima into the city; it is precisely the ambitions of these newcomers “bringing their dreams, food, customs, and folklore, that a new culture emerges around Lima’s surroundings.” That appreciation brims from Chicha Peruvian Kitchen, which recently opened a second Midtown location to accompany its original Roseville spot. A trip would be incomplete without a survey of ceviches, which all feature white fish, and the chauya taypa, which honors Peru’s Chinese influence in a surf and turf stir fry." - Tamerra Griffin

First time here, was a Saturday evening, Wow! Greeted by a beautiful singing Voice. There's a talented solo vocalist here on Saturdays apparently. Every Saturday evening. I will absolutely come here on a Saturday next time. It was such a treat! So then the appetizers came and I was even more delighted. Yay! Beautiful tender Beef Heart in light pesto with these crazy good potatoes, and I don't even eat potatoes usually. This place will be My Exception! Super yummy. Creamy and flavorful potatoes with beef heart. I could eat this every darn day. The white fish ceviche was so tangy citrus and refreshing. Lots of beautiful onions and nothing was overwhelming, just beautiful and fresh. Then comes a clean feeling beef stew with rice and a seafood paella. Also yummy. I feel the Paella is poorly named and should be readdressed as a Seafood Risotto. It's not like a flavorful Spanish paella, but more of a mellow creamy risotto. Very nice texture. The appetizers were so filling. We had to take most of the entrees home. Oh, did I mention the garlicky herb butter they serve with the house bread rolls. Too good! Salty Herby butter and tastes like a soft pillow of potato bread roll. Mmmmm. Servers were all extremely polite, caring and conscientious.

Definitely a must try, especially if you are into paella’s! 😋 Their “Paella” is way better than some places I’ve been in Spain! You either take my word for it, or try it yourself! Disclaimer: I didn’t get freebies from this restaurant, despite my being frequent flyer here! 😛😋 Not my first time, but finally captured pictures before devouring the food!

First time to try Peruvian food, we went on a Sunday, lunch time and they were offering buffet but we opted for ala carte. Server was friendly and gave us recommendations on their food. Food came in quick except for the Bistec ala pobre w/c I had to follow up twice. We’re done with our food when it came in. Other than that, the experience was good, my husband liked the food

Food was in incredible and authentic Peruvian food. The menu is colorful, fresh, tasty, and unique. Best fine dining Latin food in a very long time. The decor and attention to detail makes you forget you are in a strip mall. We will be back for sure..

I love trying out foods from different countries and this by far was truly amazing..My 1st time having Peruvian food..It was absolutely worth it and cooked to perfection..We can't wait to go back again soon and try out more dishes. A small place but very hospitable in every way and well decorated and perfect for Valentines Day 2025.. They had a tv inside that was showing the beauty of Peru in western South America also that added to the atmosphere as well that was beautiful to enjoy during our meal too. Every dish we had...wow..talk about making your mouth water..yummy.. Thank you to the delightful staff for everything tonight.

Came to try this Peruvian restaurant for the first time and it was delicious. The mango lemonade and the pork belly appetizer were so flavorful. Bistec a lo pobre was very filling and they give good portion of beef. Our server Evelyn was so attentive and very sweet. Highly recommend.
