The Best Restaurants in Sacramento, Roseville, and Elk Grove | Eater SF

"Consider the culinary sister city potential between Lima, Peru, and Sacramento: both capital cities of the Americas that blend and champion the many cultural communities that have flocked to their borders, making them greater than the sum of their parts. How fitting that “chicha” refers to the migration of Peruvians from outside Lima into the city; it is precisely the ambitions of these newcomers “bringing their dreams, food, customs, and folklore, that a new culture emerges around Lima’s surroundings.” That appreciation brims from Chicha Peruvian Kitchen, which recently opened a second Midtown location to accompany its original Roseville spot. A trip would be incomplete without a survey of ceviches, which all feature white fish, and the chauya taypa, which honors Peru’s Chinese influence in a surf and turf stir fry." - Tamerra Griffin

Great service. Liked the vibe. Ceviche "Midtown" hell yes - very good! Beef or Chicken Saltido - nope, not much seasoning. The Chupe de Camaro (chowder) was really flavorful. Also, the house made fruit juice was good.

Google
You can absolutely tell this food is made with lots of love and intention. Every dish was so well constructed and each part played the perfect role! Sooo good. The ceviche midtown was good, as well as the pork belly sandwich and the fried rice (chaufa taypa)

Always such a delight to eat here! I absolutely love Peruvian food and Chicha does not disappoint. From the cute place, to the excellent service and most importantly the delicious food- you will come back again and again. My favorite is the ceviche mancora, jalea, anticuchos and the paella peruana.

Google
Good food and service nice family Peruvian restaurant. Service is friendly and knowledgeable. Had the beef heart and paella. Dessert was flan and it was good. Try the yucca and plantains.

Went for lunch on a rainy Monday. Pleasantly surprised at how nice the restaurant was, and the food was delicious. Pollo Pachamanquero was wonderful, and a fairly large serving, brought out on a hot platter to keep it hot. We will be returning to try the sampler. Incredible mural (see photo)

My boyfriend and I visited Chicha in Roseville and were genuinely impressed by how beautifully Peruvian culture was represented. Every dish we tried felt vibrant and balanced. ✨ Arroz con Mariscos This was the star of the night — deeply savory, richly aromatic and full of perfectly cooked seafood. The rice had that ideal texture: tender but not mushy, and infused with a smoky sweet, well-seasoned depth. Every bite was layered with crunch, chewy, sweetness, and satisfying. ✨ Ceviche Copa Carretillera Bright, zesty, and incredibly fresh. The ceviche had the perfect hint of citrus (from the lime) without overwhelming the fish. The crunchy chips and corn instantly lifts your mood with its freshness. ✨ Lomo Saltado a la Antigua Bold, comforting, and beautifully executed. The beef was tender and coated in a rich, umami sauce, and the vegetables still had their integrity. The fries soaked up just enough of the stir-fry juices to become addictive. It’s everything you want Lomo Saltado to be. Overall, Chicha delivered a memorable evening. The flavors were authentic, the plating thoughtful, and the atmosphere warm. We left feeling like we’d just travel to Peru and back, a new favorite spot in Roseville.

Google
Had a fantastic experience at Chicha Peruvian Kitchen! The food was absolutely delicious — fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. What really made the visit special was the excellent service from Grace — she was friendly, attentive, and made us feel right at home. Highly recommend this place if you’re looking for authentic Peruvian cuisine and warm hospitality!

Google
Delicious and authentic flavors that reminded me of foods from my visits with family in South America! I enjoyed the seco de res and I highly recommend this! Atmosphere was beautiful and waitress was very attentive, welcoming and friendly.

Yelp
First time trying Peruvian food and this was such a great experience! I came with a group of 8 and everyone enjoyed their dish! The service was excellent! They were very kind and helped us with recommendations. They also told us they have a buffet once a month to try more of their dishes. I had the Lomo Saltado a La Antigua and the sauce in the dish was super flavorful!! The sauce was savory and paired well with the meat and rice. Lomo Saltado a La Antigua 10/10

Yelp
As a proud Colombian, I say this with clarity and respect: when it comes to culinary depth and execution, Peruvian cuisine operates on another level--and Chicha in Roseville makes that case convincingly. The yucca and plantains are a lesson in restraint--perfectly cooked and paired with complimentary sauces that elevate familiar staples into something memorable. Thoughtful, intentional, and deeply satisfying. The maracuyá sour is outstanding--bright, balanced, and layered. It easily outshines the pisco sour, which felt merely fine by comparison. Once you try the maracuyá, it becomes the benchmark. The pork belly sandwich sparked a generational divide. Our teenage son wanted a crispier outer layer for more crunch--fair critique. But eaten on its own, the pork belly delivers: rich, tender, and indulgent, letting the quality of the preparation speak for itself. Colombian food is soulful and comforting. Peruvian cooking, when executed this well, is technical, nuanced, and deliberate. Chicha brings that level of precision and confidence to the table without trying too hard. Shout-out to Chicha in Roseville for delivering a meal that respects tradition, showcases skill, and sets a high culinary bar.

Yelp
My boyfriend brought me here for a late lunch and when we parked outside, I jokingly asked if this was the part where he harvests my organs then we went inside and it was a whole other world. I love the contrasting black and white wall! The decor is beautiful. Neither of us have ever had Peruvian food before and were nervous, so we picked some familiar(ish) dishes. He ordered the Fettuccine (I can't remember the full name) and I ordered the same but off the vegetarian menu. Both of our dishes were delicious!! I made the questionable decision to eat a slice of a pepper by itself, thinking it was a jalapeño (I did not read the whole description, totally my fault) and my white girl taste buds could handle it. WRONG my mouth was on fire, and water was making it worse. Then our absolutely wonderful server came by with samples of two different milk-based desserts (rice pudding and tres leches). My poor vanilla taste buds were saved. We will definitely be back, and we look forward to trying more of their menu.

Yelp
First time to visit this Peruvian restaurant, and on Christmas Day. Surprisingly, it was not busy. The service is slow, so not a place fora quick bite. Everything was excellent. We started with ceviche and fried plantains. Main dishes were Seafood paella, Lomo (beef) saltado plate, and Pollo (chicken) saltado plate. The Peruvian decor makes it feel authentic. Rolling reel of Peruvian vistas is also a nice touch.

Yelp
A Window to Peru, Right in Our Neighborhood This unassuming Peruvian gem isn't just a restaurant--it's a passport stamp in disguise. From the moment you enter, you're whisked to Peru with calming decor, colorful benches, and a Peruvian soundtrack. Ambience & Decor:vibrant details, and walls dressed like a festival you can walk through. Cuisine Vibe: bright, citrus-kissed flavors that honor tradition while inviting new tastes. Why You'll Love It:you'll realize you've never had Peruvian like this--bold, joyful, and welcoming:

Yelp
Service was a bit slow. Ambiance was nice. Parking was easy since it's located in a strip mall. Food was absolutely delicious. Lots of great flavors. I had the chicken dish with veggies and the chicken was very tender and juicy, it had a sauce on top that was savory and the veggies were a delightful combination of potatoes and sweet potatoes and zucchini
google avatar

Yelp
Great little spot with fantastic food. We had the chicken stew, taro chips, chimichurri and chicken pachamanquero - all were fantastic! The service was also on point. Definitely worth the drive from Elk Grove.

Yelp
This might be my new favorite Peruvian spot in Roseville! I can totally see this place getting super popular soon. My friends and I came in on a Thursday around 5 pm and the place was empty, so we got seated immediately. It was decorated beautifully and the ambiance was nice and casual. For drinks, we tried the house sangria, chicha morada, and mango lemonade--solid choices to kick things off. Since it was still happy hour, we couldn't resist ordering some apps: chicharrón de pollo, yucas a la huancaína, and an empanada. I was expecting the chicharrón to be like pork rinds, but nope--this was even better! The sauces that came with the apps were also on point. For mains, we went with the ceviche trio and lomo saltado. Heads up: the lomo saltado portion is HUGE--definitely enough for two people to share. The ceviche trio was also tasty, with three different styles. Honestly, the flavor differences were subtle (besides one being a little more lime-forward and the seafood variety), but still super fresh and delicious. We ended on a sweet note with their Peruvian bread pudding topped with vanilla ice cream--just the right amount of sweetness to wrap things up. Overall, I loved everything about this meal, and I'll absolutely be back. Next time, I'm planning to hit their Sunday brunch buffet... I heard there's a whole dessert spread, and that sounds like heaven.

Yelp
So good!! Honestly one of the best things I've ever eaten. The food was amazing -- full of flavor and cooked perfectly. The place feels super cozy and welcoming, and the service was awesome. Everyone was really nice and made the experience even better. Can't wait to go back! Went here with my brother and he said pretty much the same thing, soooo good!

Yelp
I was looking forward to visit this Peruvian restaurant and it wasn't what I thought. First they offered a buffet style which I did not choose. The majority of the group picked out dishes to share as appetizers and for the most part all were okay. I did enjoy the maduros and yuca frita. My main dish was too watery and I like my paella more pasty in texture. The service was fast and efficient but just not my favorite dishes.
google avatar

Jude A.

Yelp
Really good Peruvian cuisine; the food and service were exceptional. The yuca fries and fried shrimp were my favorite, as well as the beef hearts. The atmosphere was pretty chill, and the chicha morada was off the chain and very refreshing.
google avatar

Eva W.

Yelp
This is my first time trying Peruvian food. I came here with a group of friends. We ordered different dishes, so we can share family style, and get try a variety of different items. Everything was very good. They offer a buffet on the last Sunday of the month for $45. The staff was very nice and friendly.
google avatar

Jibreel L.

Yelp
Delicious food and amazing service. The host was very attentive. The restaurant had a warm and welcoming atmosphere.

Yelp
Really good food! We went there at about 530 pm on a weekday, we were the first ones there! They have a nice wine selection and food options. We tried their ceviche platter of 3, i tried the chicha morada for drink, fried chicken, fried potato, the dessert (I can't remember the name). The staff - Diego, I believe, was really attentive. He was quick with everything taking our order and checking in on us. We did have to wait a while for our food, maybe like 30-40 minutes. It became busy quickly and they looked short staffed. The ceviche was good, but all three tasted very similar.
google avatar

Sanjay A.

Yelp
The food was awesome. There was tremendous attention to my wife's gluten and dairy sensitivities. Chef Jerson even offered to make a special sauce for us. Mimi is friendly, informative, and efficient -a great combination. Highly recommend the chicken and ceviche trio.
google avatar

Yelp
I just ordered arroz chaufa to go and it wasn't even close to Peruvian arroz chaufa. Soggy rice, no eggs, deep fried chicken?, the flavor is very bland. I wish I could get my money back. How dare a Peruvian restaurant sell this plate. Honestly, Panda tastes way better than this. I'm also questioning the condition of the chicken because it didn't taste fresh.

Yelp
My first time having Peruvian food. I had no expectations and was simply looking forward to trying something new with my friends. There are two locations, Sacramento and Roseville. We visited the Roseville location for lunch. My first impression of the decor is very festive and colorful with Peruvian vibe. Maracua sour is a fruity twist on the Peruvian favorite pisco sour. The fragrant passion fruit made this drink a combination of fruity, sweet-tart, refreshing drink. 4/5 Trio Cevichero It's a sampler of 3 type of fish. They all kind of taste similar to me. I recommend ordering the taro chips. It balance out the mild fishiness. 3/5 Yucas & Platanos Fritos I like anything fried. I totally enjoyed this dish. The fried cassava sticks and fried sweet plantains dipped in the sweet creamy sauce was very good. 5/5 Pollo Saltado It's a Peruvian favorite! Wok stir-fried chicken with onions, tomatoes, soy sauce, french fries, jasmine rice and fried egg. I liked all the ingredients in this dish. The chicken was a bit chewy and way too much onions. 4/5 They also have a buffet on the last Sunday of each month but November is the last one of the year. It's a nice spread for $45 per person. I just don't eat that much to take advantage, at least not $45 worth. Friendly service. Our waitress was great at explaining the menu and attentive.

Yelp
Came in on a Sunday with reservations for a quick bite and drinks as we killed time. Friendly staff and they were quick to get our orders. The maracuya is amazing, both the virgin and alcoholic option ! Would have this over and over, the michelada was okay. Great portions on the ceviche, but wish they offered yuca chips or some other chips to go with it. We also had some yuca fries and empanadas which were great and good portions. The ambiance is great for both casual or more intimate style. Pricing matched the portions and quality of the food. Would come back again to try more options.

Yelp
I stopped in for dinner during a work trip and I will definitely recommend this to my coworkers. I've spent some time in Peru and this place was spot on for flavor and reminded me of some of the nicer restaurants I tried while in Cusco. The chicha morada (purple corn drink) may have been the best one ive ever had. Started with the Midtown Cebiche and finished everything off with a Pan con Chicharŕon. All in all I would recommend this to anyone in the mood for peruvian in the area! Server was very nice and attentive and the ambiance was great.

Yelp
I was on the way to Tahoe for holidays and wanted to stop by for a bite to eat and a group of my friends suggested Peruvian food. Tried to research and this restaurant seems promising. When we got there , late afternoon and looked pretty slow only one big table. The server came out to greet us and show us the table. She is really nice and take good care of us. The food that we got were the ceviche, shrimp soup Fettuccini stir fried beef and bisteak. All the food were amazing , I wasn't expecting anything and everything was good. Especially, the ceviche was my favorite, the flavor was sour not too spicy. The seafood was fresh. All the beef was tender. I really recommend this place if you're ever in the area.

Yelp
I have been meaning to write this review for so long. We set up a lunch with a friend and chanced upon their last Sunday of the month buffets. We lucked out and got seats, but you need to reserve in advance. Other Sunday lunches are regular sit down meals. I felt especially fortunate because we hadn't tried Peruvian food before and this buffet style gave us an opportunity to try many dishes at once. This was a great fun meal, all dishes were absolutely delicious. Like many places in the burbs of Sacramento, not much to see on the outside, but lively and flavorful food on the inside. I am thinking about when we can go again. Also they will be opening a 2nd restaurant in the downtown area. So I look forward to trying that!
google avatar

Yelp
Our second meal here. Another Sunday dinner for us. This time, there weren't that many customers. We got seated near the bar. For drinks, we got the Chicha Morada (purple corn) and Pisco Sour. Both were refreshing for drinks that we've tried for the first time. For main dishes, our son chose the Bistec a lo Pobre (10 oz NY steak) with fries, fried sweet plantains, fried egg and fresh tomatoes. My wife opted for the Lomo Saltado a la Antigua, stir-fried tenderloin with onions, tomatoes and fried egg served on a bed of fries and rice. I got the Chupe de Camarones (Peruvian shrimp chowder) with aji pepper, quinoa and fried egg. Now, the obvious commonality with our picks for dinner is the fried egg. Maybe unusual for dinner but no complaints from this family. Desserts were son's and wife's preferences. Churro & Caramel Sticks and House Peruvian Bread Pudding to end our dinner. Our server was nice and helpful. He gave us two servings of the house bread with garlic butter. Full bellies out the door. Planning on returning for Happy Hour (Monday to Friday 3-6).

Yelp
Lovely ambiance, good food, nice service. We tried many things we haven't had before. The Chicha drink is a bit sweet, and the sangria is light n yum.

Connie L.

Yelp
Cheerful ambiance with Peruvian flare. Our waiter, Jesus, was helpful describing menu and offering suggestions. Food was delicious. We started with, beef heart Anticucho. Nicely done with rich flavor. Chicha salad was well dressed, Ceviche delicious with fish, shrimp, calamari and paella flavorful. Finished off either chocolate cake which we enjoyed. On Saturdays there is added entertainment. Beautiful singer who also plays guitar. This is a hidden gem.

Yelp
So disappointed with our dinner and we had such high expectations based on the reviews. We went with a group and there was one table with a small group in the restaurant beside us. There was one waitress and it appeared there was maybe one other person working. There was 7 of us so the waitress was clear that there was an automatic 20% tip for a group this size. I am fine with that and I am happy giving more than 20% but with one person, who took over 15 minutes just to get us a glass of water. Additionally the waitress didn't get my wife's dinner order. She order an appetizer and a main meal. When dinner was served, she didn't have my wife's order. The language was clearly an issue as we tried to ask about the menu. We were not experts on Peruvian food. I'll give it up to maybe a language issue but not an apology or any concession. Food, was just ok. I ordered the Bistek Lo lobre, which is Steak, fried onions, eggs, potatoes and plantains. The French fries were cold, the Steak, was tough, grisly, and really no flavor and the plantains were not great. I am just not getting it! Service was horrible, food was mediocre at best and the entitled attitude for a tip when they were way understaffed, it is why I gave 2 stars. Too many other great options. Sad because I wanted it to be great.
google avatar

Trevis M.

Yelp
Stopped in here for some takeout! Ordered the traditional ceviche and the sautéed shrimp dish. The restaurant was spacious, clean and designed nicely. Service was great and attentive! The food itself was amazing and tasty! The ceviche was bursting with flavor and the shrimp was cooked perfectly!

Kristy P.

Yelp
First time here but definitely not the last. What a fun experience. Everything was delicious and our server, Leo was so helpful and didn't mind all of our questions! I ordered the Pollo pachamanquero and seriously one of the best things I've ever tasted. Can't wait for 2nd visit to try something else.
google avatar

Maria B.

Yelp
First time here and loved it! The food was very flavorful and fresh. I got the pollo pachamanquero and loved it! The bread pudding was very good too, not too sweet and creamy. The waiter was super sweet and helpful with recommendations . I met one of the owners, she was very nice and attentive. I can't wait to get back and try more of their dishes!

Yelp
This colorful Peruvian place is in a strip mall with plenty of free parking. It decorated with many colorful paintings and has Spanish music playing as you walk in. We came on a rainy afternoon and had the place to ourselves at opening. The service was attentive and personal. We came here as we were craving Lomo Saltado and this did not disappoint! The savory sauce with the beef, tomatoes, onions and French fries satisfied the craving. We also tried a new to me fish dish called pescado a lo no macho which was a tender light fried fish covered in a delicate seafood sauce. This dish is best eaten immediately and not as a take out as the fish will get soggy. We will return.
google avatar

Yelp
Unassuming from the outside in a strip mall, but cute place on the inside. Had dinner here the day after Mother's day weekend so it was still full of balloons and decorations celebrating mom. They also had causa available which isn't on the menu b/c it was available for Mother's day. I'm glad I asked!! Brought my Serbian colleague here - her first time in California and her first time eating Peruvian food. She thoroughly enjoyed the Chicha and her pollo saltado! I had the Chupe de camarones and it was warm, delicious and cozy! Don't find myself in this area often, but would definitely recommend and revisit.

Yelp
We just had the most amazing lunch and experience here at Chicha Peruvian Kitchen !! Mimi our server was delightful attentive and helped us pick the most amazing food !!! The restaurant is adorable and super clean ! We can't wait to come back !!!
google avatar

Renzo M.

Yelp
This is my GO TO restaurant when I am in the area. Great Peruvian restaurant. Flavor is very good, menu is somehow limited but the dishes I've tried were good. Pricing is no cheap though. Couldn't it be better ? Yes. Does it taste just like food in Peru? No, but it is still very good. That is the reason I am only giving 4 stars . Service is good and ambiance is ok.
google avatar

Vicky T.

Yelp
Fantastic service and delicious, elevated Peruvian food! Everything is prepared to order so it's easy for them to work around food allergies and adjust spice levels. Gluten Free and vegetarian options are clearly marked on the menu. If you are clean and sober: ask them to remove any alcohol from the table before you are seated so it doesn't trigger you.

Joshua T.

Yelp
Amazing service and the food is definitely worth the wait. Food is made essentially from scratch, which takes a bit longer but it's worth it.
google avatar

Rachel R.

Yelp
The food was fantastic, the service was friendly, and the ambiance was perfectly suited for a nice relaxing dinner. Lighting was dim and I wasn't expecting live music so that was a fun surprise. Would definitely go back

Yelp
We dined last night for Valentine's day and thankfully had an early reservation. The place is super cute and they did a great job of decorating modestly for Valentine's. I liked how they had balloons tied to the bottles of Malbec at specific tables. While I didn't ask specifically, I think it was their way of noting which tables were reserved. After being shown to our table and seated, we perused the menu and were excited to try some new dishes.... ...(5 minutes - nada) ...(5 more minutes - nada) ......(5 more minutes - nada) At one point, someone dropped off two hard biscuits and left. We weren't even offered water, yet. We waited and noticed a couple seated well after us was already placing their order and had water. At this point, I was about to get up and pour ourselves some water, instead, I flagged a server down and asked for some water. The server looked frantic but thankfully got us water, but immediately left. This is the point, where the sever should have said something like "sorry for the delay, your server will with you shortly". The person who I asked for water wasn't assigned to our table. It is Valentine's day and I get it, it is busy and they are doing their best. So we wait...ever so patiently. We never once complained. We waited. After waiting some more, the server assigned to us showed up and apologized for being busy. They asked if we wanted to start with drinks, we said that we would also order as well. We placed our appetizer and dinner order along with two pisco sours. Once our order was placed, the food came out in a timely fashion. However, our drinks somehow did not make it. We figured they'd be out shortly, after about halfway through our meal our server came to check on us and we reminded them about the drinks. We could have been on our second round of drinks if they were delivered on time, alas we only had one round and ended up boxing up the rest to take home. I still give them 4 stars because the food was that good and I liked the setting. Now if they can improve on their service this place will be a great spot to visit regularly.

Yelp
Stop by this Peruvian restaurant on the way to Reno, this place definitely hit the spot if you looking for some Peruvian food. The trio ceviche was delicious and my husband had the tamal and it was very delicious with the aji. Also the lomo saltado was full of favor and juicy. Definitely will come back if I'm in the area.

Yelp
When we first moved out to the Sacramento area, this was our place for Peruvian food. Since they have opened their new location in Midtown, it makes me sad to say that this location has dropped down in food quality. The service was excellent, the ambiance was "peruvian" and their waiters are very attentive. But unfortunately, the food is no longer as good as it used to be, the Peruvian drink chicha you can tell is not made fresh - but maybe more of the powder mix? I am Peruvian and I can surely say that that is not freshly made chicha. That or they need to change up the recipe for it. Aside from the food quality dropping, it's definitely gotten more expensive since they've opened the new location. Sad to say that due to the price, and just the overall food quality, my family and I have decided not to return unfortunately.

Karen S.

Yelp
Incredible food and service. Very cute place with great ambiance. This was our first time here and we're adding it to our regular spots. Tried the ceviche sampler. So good! The stew sampler was the perfect amount for 2-3 people to share. Highly recommend the pork belly appetizer. It is one of the best things I've ever had. Incredible flavors and presentation. The maracuya sour was great. Perfect amount of sweet and sour.

Yelp
Not only was the food amazing and flavorful the service was TOP notch. Some of the best service I have ever gotten. Our server was amazing giving us the best recommendations and just overall had the best energy. They even made my grandma feel so special on her birthday. The food was so good we were all swapping plates to get a bite! My personal favorite was the fettuccine. The restaurant is tucked away in a shopping center, but don't overlook it!

Janiah S.

Yelp
Family told us to try this out. Small place in a strip mall, inside is clean and inviting. Staff was friendly. We had a ceviche appetizer that had fish and calamari. It was excellent, but very pricey at $25.99. Ingredients were very fresh and nicely balanced, it really made the taste buds dance around! We tried two dishes, one was a noodle dish with beef I don't recall the names of either dish, but it was excellent. The other one was a rice dish with beef and different veggies. I dropped a star because of the high end pricing for the the portions you get. It was very good tasting, it just cost more than what we want to spend on a date night dinner. For two entrees and one appetizer and waters to drink, it was still over $80, add $15 tip and that's an expensive date night.

Yelp
One of the most insane meals I have had in my entire life. Please try this place it is incredible. Server was wonderful and food was outstanding. Would give 10 stars if I could.

Yelp
BEST Peruvian food hidden in a strip mall next to a karate place. The food!! The food!!!! The food was so good, let me start with the dessert. Peruvian flan is wayyyyyy better than the Filipino or Mexican version. I said what I said!!! Get the Flan! It was incredibly thick in size. I want to say it was cooked in a Bundt pan due to the height. The flan was silky, creamy, sweet, but not too sweet. And they added chocolate and white chocolate dabs on top of the flan. I didn't think it would go, but boy it did!!!! Both chocolate dabs complimented the flan soo incredibly well. Make room for the flan! The dinner items we orders: 1. Lomo Saltado - This kid doesn't order from the kid menu bc he has an appetite. An appetite so big that he polished off all the steak pieces on this dish. Super flavorful meat. Loved how much onions were in this dish as well. 2. Pescado A Lo Macho - the hubs ordered this dish. I definitely had my fork all up in his plate. It surprising tasted kind of Italian as the sauce was creamy. Loved all the flavors 3. Peruvian Style Paella - So so good!! The amount of seafood in this dish is worth it. They definitely did not skimp out on the seafood. Huge chunks of octopus and squid, fish, shrimp , and clams. I can't wait to eat here again!!!

Yelp
I love the aesthetic here, i think it's prettier than their Downtown Sacramento location. The food is so flavorful and service was great! Will definitely be back.

Yelp
Meeting a friend for dinner, she decided on trying Peruvian food. It was only my second time having Peruvian food so we let the waiter make recommendations and everything we tried was absolutely delicious. I wish I could remember all of the names, but we split an appetizer that was a cold potato dish with a cream sauce, a main dish that had thinly sliced steak and some fried yucca potatoes. All in all, everything was very delicious and I appreciated the explanation of each dish by our waiter. The service was fast and friendly, and the interior decor was warm and inviting. If you have never experienced Peruvian food before, I would highly recommend giving this place a try.

Yelp
11/20/22 My oldest son and I were craving some Peruvian food and found this spot on Yelp. Thank you fellow yelpers for helping us! Location was very colorful in decor both outside and inside. For today's visit, I ordered the Lomo Saltado A La Antigua and my son ordered the pork tamale. The Pork Tamale came out with pickled onions on top and had olives inside. It came out more wet vs dry with the pickled toppings. $8.95 for 1 pork tamale. My son wasn't a fan of the pork tamale and ended up sharing my Lomo Saltado A La Antigua which was seasoned well. I was hoping there was more fries and that it was a bit more crispy but overall it was a good dish. $25.95 for rice, seasoned beef with onions, tomatoes, soy sauce and topped with a fried egg. There wasn't a lot of beef or fries. There was lots of red onions. The dishes IMO were on the pricer side for both brunch and dinner options. While I was checking out Yelp, I noticed many reviews mentioned all you can eat buffets. When I inquired about it with our server, I understood they have these on the last Sunday of every month from Jan-Sept and require advance reservations as it gets extremely busy. What a great concept! I would definitely be back to check that out in 2023 so I can different dishes offered. Bel Air shopping plaza Location has ample parking and this location is at the corner end of the plaza.

Yelp
On Sunday, September 25, 2022, I attended the 2nd seating, 2 PM - 4 PM, for the last buffet of the year. Advance reservations were required. Buffet cost was $34.95 per adult and $14.95 per child. The restaurant needed time to transition from the 11:30 AM - 1:30 PM 1st seating, so we waited outside in line with the restaurant's front doors closed until maybe 2:15 PM or 2:20 PM, assuming I remembered correctly. We were checked in one party at a time. So many people, primarily Latin Americans, attended! I think I and perhaps one table of Filipinos were the only non-Latin buffet guests. That's how you can tell the food is authentic and special. There was one other table of two non-Latin customers, but they weren't there for the buffet. All the buffet dishes were labeled in Spanish. That was a lot of work for me to translate, compare against the regular menu, and ask the waitress about! The buffet offered more dishes than I could try! If you really want to try everything, you can only have one small tasting of each. There is no stomach space for second helpings of your favorite dishes. I took so long to finish my second plate that most of the dessert bites were gone by the time I waddled up there. Restaurant was super wise to portion the desserts into small squares and serve them in condiment cups, which enabled customers to sample more desserts. I was so full that I couldn't even finish my 2nd plate or my 3rd dessert bite. LEGEND X Customer Favorite (dishes that ran out or low) O My Favorite APPETIZERS * Assorted Rolls and Pastries in a Basket X * Fresh Salad (Ensenada Fresca) * Huancayo style potatoes (Papa a la Huancaina) * Ocopa sauce potatoes with hard-boiled eggs and olives (Ocopa) * Russian Beet Salad (Ensenada Russa) * Seafood Ceviche (Ceviche con Mariscos) X * Fish Ceviche (Ceviche de Pescado) O * Chicken Chowder (Chupe de Pollo) O SIDES * Garbanzo Beans and Pork Fried Rice (Arroz con Garbanzos y Cerdo) O * Beans (Frijoles) ENTREES * Chicken with Aji Amarillo sauce (Aji de Gallina) O * Beef Stew (Seco de Res) O * Pineapple Pork (Chancho con Piña) * Fish with Seafood Sauce (Pescado con Salsa de Mariscos) X * Stir-fried Beef Tenderloin with French Fries (Lomo Saltado) X * Mushroom Pesto (Pesto con Hongos) * Chicken with Peanuts (Pollo con Mani) O DESSERTS * Rice pudding (Arroz con Leche) * Churros * Chocolate cake * Watermelon * Flan? * Cheesecake? * Tiramisu? * Too many others that I couldn't examine, try, or identify!!! My tendency was to prefer the saucy meat entrees eaten over rice. The other customers loved the seafood and steak dishes. Other than water, beverages weren't included with the buffet, so I ordered a Chicha Morada, a sweet Peruvian punch made of purple corn, passion fruit, lime juice, and house bubbles. It is a pretty fuschia color. Because I was a solo diner, I started my meal at an outside table for 2. After other customers finished dining and left, I was moved inside to be closer to the buffet tables and for AC. The buffet food warmers were beautiful, festive, and cultural. Buffet was overkill for me, so I'm better off with a lunch or dinner plate, but it was a great way to preview the culinary skills and menu of Chicha. Here are some other noteworthy offerings: * Peruvian breakfast is offered Saturdays and Sundays from 9 AM to 12 PM. * 20% discount on all Ceviches every Tuesday (5 different ceviches!) * 20% discount on all Wine Bottles every Wednesday * Lunch Specials run Monday to Friday, 11 AM to 3 PM. $13.95 for entree or $18.95 with an appetizer. * Happy Hour runs Monday to Friday, 4 PM to 6 PM, 7 plates ranging $6-$10. * $24.95 Seafood Duos are available Monday to Friday, 11 AM to 5 PM. A Seafood Duo is Tiger's Milk seafood cocktail (Leche de Tigre) with your choice of Seafood Fried Rice (Arroz con Mariscos) or Fried Seafood (Jalea). For 2022, Chicha is doing a $360 Thanksgiving special that feeds 8-10 people. Orders will be taken until Monday, November 21. * Whole turkey with gravy (15 to 17 pounds) * Fresh salad with red fruit dressing * Mashed potatoes with garlic * Roasted vegetables * Green beans with bacon and almonds * Hot sauce Someday I would be interested in trying the Chaufa Aeropuerto Taypá, which is fried rice with chicken, shrimp, and vegetables wrapped inside a thin omelette. The Chupe de Camarones or Shrimp Chowder also catches my eye from the restaurant's Facebook page. Thank you for your authentic fun menu offerings, Chicha!

Yelp
This is such a top notch Peruvian restaurant. Loved their leche de tigre appetxier and the pescado a lo macho. The leche de tigre was a great combination of seafood and citrus. Wow! The flavor packs a punch. Then I got the seafood dish. This came with a lovely array of seafood. Loved the spicy flavor and the delicious and flavorful broth. The rice soaks up the sauce. So so good. I enjoyed these two dishes and there are so many to choose from. Great place!

Yelp
First time here, was a Saturday evening, Wow! Greeted by a beautiful singing Voice. There's a talented solo vocalist here on Saturdays apparently. Every Saturday evening. I will absolutely come here on a Saturday next time. It was such a treat! So then the appetizers came and I was even more delighted. Yay! Beautiful tender Beef Heart in light pesto with these crazy good potatoes, and I don't even eat potatoes usually. This place will be My Exception! Super yummy. Creamy and flavorful potatoes with beef heart. I could eat this every darn day. The white fish ceviche was so tangy citrus and refreshing. Lots of beautiful onions and nothing was overwhelming, just beautiful and fresh. Then comes a clean feeling beef stew with rice and a seafood paella. Also yummy. I feel the Paella is poorly named and should be readdressed as a Seafood Risotto. It's not like a flavorful Spanish paella, but more of a mellow creamy risotto. Very nice texture. The appetizers were so filling. We had to take most of the entrees home. Oh, did I mention the garlicky herb butter they serve with the house bread rolls. Too good! Salty Herby butter and tastes like a soft pillow of potato bread roll. Mmmmm.
