First visit to San Chen Tea House. The interior immediately stood out with a warm, beautiful Taiwanese design that made the space feel like a tea shop in Taiwan. The ambience was calm with a clean, modern touch, and you could actually watch each tea being brewed one by one. Nothing powdered or pre-mixed. Everything is freshly extracted.
Ordered: Bubble Volcano (milk tea with brown sugar and bubbles) and Passion Fruit Bubble Tea.
The Bubble Volcano was the standout. Because the tea is freshly brewed, the aroma came through even over ice. The flavor was deep, slightly toasted, and had a gentle bitterness that lifted through the nose after each sip. The brown sugar balanced everything with a smooth sweetness. The bubbles themselves were exceptionally good: warm, chewy, and soft on the outside with a tender, gummy center. Since they serve the pearls warm, regular ice is the better option. I ordered less ice and it melted quickly.
I was debating the Passion Fruit Bubble Tea until a staff member offered a sample despite how busy they were. Great hospitality. The drink tasted bright and tropical, like something from a southern island, refreshing and ideal for summer.
For value, both drinks felt premium but justified because of the brewing method and ingredient quality. Portions were generous.
Practical note: kid-friendly, quick service, and the brewing setup is fun to watch. Perfect for takeout or a short sit-down break.
Looking forward to returning to try their hot tea selections next time. They had so many varieties that caught my attention.
