"This family-owned greasy spoon has served all-day breakfast to countless politicians and celebrities since 1965. The Delly ships jumbo lump crab cakes across the U.S. and slings crab cakes in-house. All beer and wine is $3.99 all day. Past governors, judges, senators and delegates get their own sandwich names at the patriotic diner, where the National Anthem is recited every morning." - Tierney Plumb, Claudia Rosenbaum

Great service, classic atmosphere and amazing milkshakes, would reccomend. The fancy milkshakes are definitely pricey but you do get to keep the glass. Although I would recommend considering getting a classic milkshakes that's nearly half the price. I couldn't finish mine with all the toppings, it's definitely a cool novelty nonetheless.

So we ended up here because we were on a long road-trip and were very very hungry. The menu seemed really promising. When we got there the waitresses were very nice and welcoming. The ambience of the restaurant did not seem very nice and not well kept. The food was honestly really really bad. I don’t know if it was a bad day or a new cook. I ordered a burger medium-well. What came was a burger that you could not really eat because everything was already falling apart before it even got to my mouth. The meat was so dry you could have knocked somebody out if you threw it. The same applies to the order my mom made on the same burger. Just 5 min after I left the restaurant I already felt sick. By all fairness they did take out the burgers from the check. So in all in all we felt disappointed but at least the waitresses were trying to help out.

Staff was fun, friendly, informative and service was fast. Everything we have tried is delicious. Best crab cake we have ever eaten and we live on the Eastern Shore and my mom was from Crisfield the blue crab capital. It was 1/2 lb lump crab seasoned perfectly and is enough to share. They also sell and ship these crab cakes at Christmas. Breakfast has generous portions. For dessert I had the strawberry rhubarb pie and it was the best I’ve ever had. Atmosphere is historical and quirky but fun. Love the dill pickles while you wait for your food.

Chick & Ruth’s is a memorable restaurant! The restaurant front seems small and unassuming, but the inside is vibrant and fun. The service I received was top-notch, and the food was fantastic. I wasn't brave enough to take on the Man Vs. Food challenge, but four young men were attempting the 6 lb milkshake challenge when I dined in. It is well worth the stop.

Great varieties of food & sandwiches (named after a lot of former & current Politicians). Very reasonably priced. Service is pretty good & very attentive waiters/waitresses. My favorite restaurant when I visit Annapolis, Maryland. I highly recommend Chick & Ruth's Delly

Came here for milkshakes and they did not disappoint. 1960s vibes and charm, and everything fitted the vibe, especially the milkshakes. Mia served us and she was really helpful and gave us good recommendations for our flavours of milkshake. She wisely advised us to not have any more than two jumbo milkshakes for our group of 5 which included 3 teenagers. My favourite flavour was the vanilla peanut butter milkshake. Ultimately this was an excellent experience, especially for a summer afternoon and I would definitely come again.

Hotel stay: If you want a truly authentic Annapolis experience at a good price, this in is a good pick. It was neat to stay above the Delly, something different. The people working here are friendly and do their best. The room I had was small, but clean. The restaurant is cool because a lot of locals go here that you can chat with. The staff knows them all so it's a very homey feel, even if you're an outsider. It's cramped but the ambience is awesome. Drawbacks: The front door SLAMS. Like, you will hear it all day. An easy thing to get fixed so idk why it's not fixed. Second: No coffee pot in room. Rooms are kinda noisy as it's an old building. Lastly, on my first free breakfast I sat at the counter downstairs--free coffee, second day I sat downstairs at a table and was charged for coffee. I asked about the free coffee and they took the charge off but said, "Just so you know for next time that the free coffee is only when you are sitting upstairs." I would have had no problem sitting upstairs but no one told me that. When I walked in they said to sit wherever. It is cool that they comp you $11 if you don't want the free breakfast menu they give you. Don't get the chipped beef. Overall it's a neat place to stay in downtown Annapolis without spending a fortune!

24Apr.2024 The wait staff was fabulous. Atmosphere was fabulous. Food was massive and delicious. You get a half pound of delicious dill pickles. They are soooooo good. There are three sizes of milkshakes 20oz.(regular), 33 oz.(jumbo) 6lb.(colossal)..the regular was filling for me. I was going to just leave a review only about the deliciousness of the dill pickles and leave pictures. They were so good that I even drank the pickle juice (I absolutely love pickles…sour, Tabasco, and dill). Me and my mate ordered a bowl of cream of crab soup and it was majority crab(like a real soup is suppose to be)the #25 specialty sandwich, regular strawberry milkshake, the #10 specialty sandwich added bacon(to go). The walls are covered with a great deal of military and many other renowned people. It is always bustling in here. Don’t think about eating in here on the weekend; you’ll be waiting for 20 plus minutes. Best day ever with great company and delicious food. You have to be here to experience the exceptional service and the huge amounts of food. Everything we ordered was well cooked and we were truly pleased. We will be back. You have to come here with a hearty appetite. Happy eating! 17July2024 I’M BBAAAAACCKKK! Sarah was awesome serving us today. Thank you so much!! Jeanette it was nice talking to you today(about skorts) and thank you for the compliment on my dress. We had the lump crab soup and lump crab cake. Everything was so filling as always. Always great service, good customers, and delicious food.

Yelp
It was AMAZING! My server was insanely amazing, she was nice, helpful, responsible, and more! And the food? It was perfect! In all my years the chicken parm was the best I've ever had hands down. And when I ordered 2 doughnuts for dessert, I looked in the bag, grabbed a doughnut, and it was the bomb! So, all in all, Sadie is one of the best servers there. If I could give this place 10 stars I would. Perfect place to go to weather traveling which is what I was doing or your a resident, this is the best restaurant to go To. Written by the Sol family. P.S. Sadie deserves the best for her service.

Yelp
When you're in Maryland and near the bay you have to have crab cakes. We asked the locals where to go to experience the best. They gave us three names of places close to the hotel. Because it was hot and we were planning to walk to the restaurant they said if your ok with a 15 min walk the best crab cakes in Annapolis is chick and Ruth's. They were wrong about one thing. These crab cakes were the best I have had from any restaurant I have been to. When you find this place you might walk right by it because it is a small restaurant but packs a big punch. The cakes are a full 1/2 pound of lump crab. So good I will be back next time we're in town,

Yelp
As a local, I had only been once before many years ago. I had a good experience this time around. We went during lunch after my daughter's high school grad. We had grandma with us too, and I was a bit concerned a big menu was going to cause decision paralysis. Not the case. We were sat and greeted promptly. Out waitress was very nice and friendly. Most of us ordered the crab cake platter. Huge portion, and it was excellent. I had become a boat yard crab cake snob, but I enjoyed C&R's just as well. It's a different recipe and different presentation. C&R is a quasi-historic Annapolis mainstay with a good atmosphere and vibe. Highly recommended if you're in the area.

Yelp
Crab omelette with mushroom only Cheese steak Rubin sandwich crab cakes Are my go-tos. Casual eating environment. Friendly staff. Cozy space can feel tight. We ate close to end of day, the staff offered us free donuts to take with us. That was a nice bonus.

Karen P.

Yelp
I have a new favorite sandwich in Annapolis. I love shrimp salad but also enjoy crab cakes. C&R has a sandwich with both. It was so yummy too! It comes on rye bread which I usually don't like but this one had a mild rye flavor and was really good. It is a tall sandwich so I deconstructed it a little to eat so I wouldn't make a mess. My hubby got the crab cake sandwich which he also enjoyed. It was a little too soft in the middle and the waitress had them cook a little longer and was perfect. Service was great too. The sweet tea a little too sweet for me but mixed it with the unsweetened and just right. The complimentary pickles were tasty too.

Yelp
My bf and I were seeking a lunch place in Annapolis, and Chick & Ruth's seemed to be the most popular with highly rated reviews. What an interesting treat! We ordered "the Boyd Rutherford Seafood Club" sandwich and potatoes with chili and cheese to share. The sandwich had a heaping serving of crab cake and shrimp in it, and it was well crafted. Frankly, the 3 layers of bread was excessive, but better more than less! While we both enjoyed the potatoes, we both agreed that the dish wasn't necessary since the sandwich filled us right up. The restaurant is loud and busy, and goofy with bagels hanging from the ceiling as decor. Famous people are plastered on the wall; there is a plethora to look at. Service is nice and straightforward, and the booths were unique. I enjoyed this place more than my bf. He's not a fan of informal restaurant dining experiences, but I felt right at home!

Yelp
So I'll just get straight to it... There is nothing "best" or "world famous" on this menu... Sorry not sorry. Firstly, the menu at Chick & Ruth's is so extensive, the likelihood of you buying and receiving something world famous, from a 6-page front and back menu... is slim. Also, their staff is very slow. And I mean very slow. The steak my friend ordered *not pictured* had hair in it. The wrap I had *pictured* was decent at most, and I had to wait 40 minutes for it. Not including the 20 minutes it took for my table to get their requested water. So, all together, you'll be waiting, you might have hair in your food, and it'll be subpar at most. Take the risk if you're in Annapolis and need somewhere slow to sit and eat at. If you aren't in the business of gambling, keep on walking.

Yelp
I liked everything we got at this place. I got the Ruben and it really hit the spot. It was what I wanted. The meat was so tender and flavorful and it went well with the toasty bread. I loved the crab cake. There was a lot of meat in it! The service was nice, but you could tell he had a lot of tables to serve but he tried his very best. The milk shake was good, but it was way too much. I think I would skip it next time, but still a fun experience to try one if you are here!

Yelp
We came here for brunch and we were seated right away. There are two dining areas, the front/lower area where the kitchen and bar are, and another on the upper level. We were seated at the lower level, it was busy and noisy, the place is kind of old but you will see all the memorabilia displayed and it's fun learning about the history of the place. Our server asked us if it was our first time, warmly welcomed us, and gave us some recommendations. She gave us enough time to go through the menu - and by the way they have a huge selection of food. The service was also fast and she gave us a tub of pickles to snack on while waiting for our food. We got the Colossal Crab Cake, and Creamed Chipped Beef. The Colossal Crab Cake did not disappoint, not just in size but also with how good it was but the Chipped Beef on Toast was disappointing because it was mostly just cream with very little meat and kinda bland.

Angela C.

Yelp
Great crab cakes! We ordered the crab cake eggs Benedict and crab salad and both were great and flavorful. They were very busy when we came so the service was a bit slow but overall worth it.

Bill W.

Yelp
An institution! They were very busy during our visit to the boat show, but the turnover is fast, and we were in and seated in under 5 minutes. The tables are a bit tight/small... latest say "cozy" ... but sufficient and not uncomfortable. We were in for a quick bite, and had chowder and a half sandwich. I had the creamed chowder, Jessie had the clear (tomato base). Both were quite good, with a lot of crab in the chowder. The pastrami was also delicious. We saw another table with a bowl of pickles, and asked our server for one also... she brought it right away ... deli-style half-sours! Great spot for a quick bite... lots of menu choices too! And, it's a short walk to the docks of the boat show.

Raleigh D.

Yelp
Worth the hype! Crazy delicious crab dip on garlic bread. #5 Tuna Melt with Swiss is enormous and fabulous. And the crab cake is ginormous, full of huge lumps of crab. Jeannette welcomed us rookies with warm hospitality. Wish I'd had room to try a shake. Next time!

Yelp
Character is the overwhelming winner when I try to think of one word that best describes the Delly, and this place has a ton of it. This was our first visit, and we went for breakfast. Their menu is both great and huge which made it a tough decision. As a crab lover, the crab omelette was the choice for me. It was served with home fries and toast. The most popular order seemed to be the NY bagel breakfast sandwiches - they were flying out of the kitchen and looked fabulous. I'm always skeptical of "NY bagels" outside of NY, but they looked really good. The crab omelette was good, though not really prepared as a typical omelette; fluffy with the add-ins incorporated throughout. Instead, the eggs were prepared thin/flat almost crepe style with a strip of crabmeat down the middle and the egg sides folded up over the crab center and topped with crab. The star of the show for me was the unique vibe of the place. Almost forgot to mention they also have a case up front full of baked goods - including giant black and white cookies - that looked soooooo good. Cool spot. Fun fact - Adam Richman completed a Man v. Food challenge at Chick & Ruth's Delly. If my memory is correct the outcome was Milkshakes/sandwiches 1: Adam 0

Yelp
My friend and I spent a day in Annapolis, MD and were dying to have crab cakes. We heard that this restaurant was featured on a tv show and that they do food competitions. FOOD: We were given sliced pickles as a complimentary starter which I thought was unique. I had never seen that been done before and I LOVE pickles so that was a win for me. We both got the 1 Crab Cake platter that came with toasted bread and butter and two sides. We both got mac and cheese and I got mashed potatoes and gravy and my friend got the the sautéed spinach. The portions were huge so I had some left over for the next day. The crab cake was soo flavorful and the mac and cheese was amazing. The milkshake was so aesthetically pleasing and creative. It came with an actual slice of pie on top. It was a bit challenging to eat. Would recommend asking for two cups. SERVICE: We went in on a late rainy evening and were seated right away. The menu was vast with maybe too many options but I knew what I went in for so we ordered quickly and got the food just as quickly. The server was so friendly and attentive and even gave me a free mason jar from the restaurant! VENUE: The venue is a bit crammed but since it wasn't crowded when we went it was fine. It's kind of what you'd expect from an old school restaurant. I loved it and would be back!

Yelp
DTA must have! Amazing crabcakes, it's absolutely huge and the crab chunks are insane! Service is always great here and they get you in and out! Space is super cute and traditional!

Yelp
I came to the Naval Academy to drop my daughter off for a summer camp and I asked what was the one restaurant in Annapolis I should go eat at this was the one that I was told and they weren't wrong. I sat down at the counter, the staff immediately was friendly and, asked me what they could get for me. An added plus was pickles as an appetizer before my meal I got the bars and crab soup, which is a mix of the cream of crab and the Maryland style crab soup, which was phenomenal. They also offer an opportunity to create your own salad from different types of lettuce and ingredients which was great and a lighter Entrée for me after several days of heavier foods. They also have rooms where you can stay, which was an unexpected plus would definitely be interested if I was back in town. Everyone was friendly and welcoming, and it was a quick walk to and from the Naval Academy, definitely will return if my travels bring me back here.

Yelp
This is a very popular spot on the main shopping street. It looks like a hole in the wall, but it has great food and service. I knew I wanted to have blue crab in Annapolis. Chick & Ruth's did not disappoint. Our wonderful server suggested we share the 2 crab cake meal, which came with 2 sides instead of crab cake sandwiches. These were the best crab cakes I've ever had. No heavy mayonnaise or bread filling. Just big lumps of blue crab that were delicious. We didn't finish and had them as sandwiches the following day. The meal was $50 plus but really exceptional quality. I would not hesitate to recommend to anyone who likes crab.

Yelp
History of Present Indulgence: Recently moved to DC and took a day trip to the Chesapeake, of course stopping through Annapolis. Saw all the restaurant list sites say that Chick & Ruth's needed to be on the to-eat list so we went for dinner before driving back home. Physical Exam: Taste - Amazing. Best crab cake I've ever had. I've only ever had crab cakes at semi-nice to fine dining places and this one blew those out of the proverbial water. More crab meat than fillet and absolutely gigantic. Seasoned well and simply delicious. I also had a half&half crab soup that was delicious with whole lumps of blue crab claw meat. My wife got the Reuben. I was skeptical (we just moved from NYC where Katz's Deli of course reigns supreme. HOWEVER, this was a Reuben for the books. Layers of thinly sliced pastrami with kraut, and between perfectly pressed slices of rye. I absolutely loved it. Service - Fantastic. Our server was Alec, who gave us solid recs and was super friendly. There were a few hiccups like getting the soup wrong and needing to be switched but honestly he was such a good sport about it, I'd still give service here 5 stars. He just made us feel at home. Environment - A total diner vibe but even more vibey. Like a diner I've never been to before. Feels like a Denny's before any modernization ya know what I mean? Orange table, laminated menus already on the table with the salt, pepper, Cholula, and Old Bay Hot Sauce all ready on every platicky-metal table. It was exactly what we were looking for tbh. Assessment/Plan: A trip to Annapolis isn't complete without stopping by Chick & Ruth's Delly. It is and feels like a neighborhood establishment. It's going to fill you up, satisfy your tastebuds AND your ability to taste some local fare, without breaking the bank. Expect the casualist of diner vibes but without all-star level food that will comfort your core. 10/10 would recommend.

Rebecca H.

Yelp
The food I had here was ok. The sandwich and fish and chips were decent but nothing memorable. This deli has some seating downstairs and upstairs. The place is a bit crowded and has a casual vibe. The service was good though and the waitress was helpful.

John L.

Yelp
I took the family here for breakfast because this place is considered a must eat in the area and I was intrigued by the "World Famous crab omelette's" they serve up. It took awhile to be acknowledged, but an extremely nice lady ended up taking us around the block to the back of the building to seat us upstairs (we had a stroller and they have a stairway inside). She apologized and said they were having issues with their lighting downstairs. The inside of this place needs a deep cleaning and some TLC. There are many framed pics on the wall of local and famous celebrities. I'm sure they are cramped for space, but a sweaty delivery driver had to weave his way through the tight tables to deliver paper products. Very nice guy, but I felt terrible for him. The waitress was very nice and friendly, but the service took a long time. I noticed some regulars around us were ordering after us and getting their food before us which was pretty annoying especially when you have two kids with you. The Crab and cheese omelet was pretty darn tasty I'll give them that. It's huge so you may want to split it with someone especially considering it's $21.99. Lots of crab inside with a nice spicy kick to it. The potato's on the side were not my style, but then again I had more than enough in front of me with the omelet. I love the throwback look of this place, but the inside just needs a refresh. My family had some egg plates and the youngest enjoyed a fresh donut with sprinkles. The shakes on the menu look incredible! If I was 19 again I'd be all over one of those! If your going to check this place out I'd probably go early or after peak meal times.

D N.

Yelp
Awesome crab and shrimp salad sandwiches! A bit noisy and the ambiance is nothing special, but the food is so good, you won't care.

Lillian L.

Yelp
Quick place to grab a bite. It fills up fast but customers move in and out quickly. We got the crab cake appetizer, corn beef hash, bagel sandwich, breakfast burrito with steak, and French toast. Their menu said this was the place known for their crab cakes. I won't lie, I was a bit disappointed with them. Their burrito didn't have much steak in it either and was just filled with potatoes. I definitely wish I had ordered something else. The portions for the corn beef hash was huge. I will say their prices are pretty cheap and I think that's why they attract so many customers. The service could have been better. I felt like we were flagging our server down a lot because she was busy with other tables. The place is bit older but it is Annapolis and I do think their bathrooms could use some revamping. I do see the appeal though of why this place has gathered so many reviews. I'd be willing to come back in the future to try other things on their menu.

Caleb T.

Yelp
Great food and service. If you come for crab you won't be disappointed because they do NOT skimp. Seating is a little tight but has a nice vintage feel to it.

Hannah H.

Yelp
Chick & Ruth's Delly has been around since the mid '60s, and they're popular for being featured on a 'Man v. Food' episode, their milkshakes, and their crab cakes. We came here for an early lunch, and we ordered: +the 101: Creamed Chipped Beef with delly potatoes and toast - the creamed chipped beef was thick and creamy, and had a different taste that most that we've tried; don't forget to add some black pepper to it! Great with the white toast; the delly potatoes were the house's homefries, and we also added green peppers to it; these were pretty tasty +the 53: Jumbo Lump Half Pound Crab Cake - comes on a roll with lettuce, tomatoes, and cocktail sauce; the crab cake, while massive, was okay; I think it could have been more fresh, as it seemed as if these were pre-made and may have been reheated? The exterior 'crust' was a little chewy; no need for the cocktail sauce, as the Old Bay Tabasco was a perfect complement; the poppy-seeded bread was well-toasted, and we actually used that with the chipped beef as well +a regular strawberry shake, with no whipped cream - this milkshake was actually pretty good; super thick, so you'll need a spoon Staff was friendly; we were welcomed right away when stepping in; our server was nice, too! The place was packed; while narrow, they do cram everyone in, and I was surprised that there was an upstairs dining area as well! Limited metered street parking available. +good milkshakes +friendly staff +limited metered street parking available

Yelp
This place was chosen off the random by walking by and I'm happy we decided to go it. Love the look of the place. Puts you in mind if an old school diner the way it's set up. Oh and the staff... ABSOLUTELY PLEASANT! One thing I adore is some wonderful customer service. Sat wherever we wanted. Menu was a big variety. I specially wanted a crab cake. They said it was 25 bucks and it was one of their specialty. So gave it a try. It was not the best but definitely not the worst. It fulfilled my desire lol. Sweet potato fries weren't to great. They weren't cooked long enough at all. But the crab Mac n cheese was the highlight side. Also had a chicken spinach wrap with bacon and that was quite yummy. Even gave us a big cup of pickles to take with. Will def return for the vibes for sure.

Ezra S.

Yelp
Classic diner with an amazing atmosphere and great staff. Ate here for breakfast with a group of 7, we were able to immediately get a table and were quickly greeted by our server, who was very attentive throughout our time there. The food came out quick and had large portions. It's exactly the kind of food you want and expect from an old school diner like this. I got the biscuits and gravy, it was delicious, especially the potatoes that came on the side. I highly recommend stopping in while spending time in Annapolis!

Leonard B.

Yelp
Excellent service fun atmosphere great crab soup & corned beef on rye sandwich! We will be back next time in Annapolis.

Mary A.

Yelp
What a cool place. The staff is very friendly and welcoming. The menu is huge. We ordered the crab cake platter which was delicious but I have to say it is huge!! Served sliced dill pickles after sitting down which were tasty. A small restaurant that appears to do a lot of business. The milkshakes look amazing but we we're definitely too full to order one. Next time!!!

John L.

Yelp
Best crab cake sandwich we've had all year; and we go out of our way to seek out crab cake meals. The crab cakes are so large two adults can easily share a dinner platter and sides, feeling full and satisfied they've had a great meal in Annapolis. The pickles are pretty good too.

Yvette K.

Yelp
Kind of dirty. I know it's famous for large shakes but I felt like I shouldn't eat anything there It's an institution yada yada but floors, walls, etc and that's the part I can see! Yikes

Alan W.

Yelp
This place has fallen off big time, sandwiches used to be huge, Pastrami and cheese $13.98 barely had Pastrami on it and no Swiss cheese, WTF!! Crab Soup sucked looked like pieces of tuna instead of crab meat in there, and seemed like they dumped half a container of old bay in it. Best thing going were the pickles and the French fries. Walked in today at 2pm and the place was empty, now I know why. Will not be returning. If I could give 0 stars I would. They must have new cooks.

Thomas V.

Yelp
I love both MD Crab and Cream of Crab soups. Learned of Ying/Yang soup in Glen Bernie a few years ago and has spread over Maryland. This is one of the best half and half soups in Maryland. The crap is claw and plenary of crab in the soup.

Nessa R.

Yelp
I'm not sure if I don't Yelp when I'm here. I frequent this place often, everything is yummy! Pastrami sandwiches and Cheesesteaks are always yummy! Crab cakes are amazing. Service is always good. It's a touristy place but all the locals come. They serve breakfast all day!

Ian S.

Yelp
Huge menu and everything is excellent. Very tight quarters but to us that's part of the charm.

Jeff H.

Yelp
This is a solid staple here in the capital of the original Colonies after winning independence. The food is genuinely delicious and fantastic! Wish I had more time to try other menu items! A very historic staple with locally sourced food and old school ambiance!

Tyler G.

Yelp
Swung by Chick & Ruth's Delly on a tip that they're dishing out the king of crab cake sandwiches, and let me tell you, they weren't kidding. This isn't your run-of-the-mill crabby patty; it's a behemoth half-pounder that's all jumbo lump, no filler - a true Maryland treasure. Each bite is a perfect storm of flavor, with the crab's sweet meatiness leading the charge, hugged by a light, crisp crust that's never soggy. The fresh lettuce and tomato add a nice crunch, and that side of sauce? It's the secret handshake that ties it all together. If crab cakes are your jam, Chick & Ruth's is your spot. Hands down, best I've ever had!

Jen J.

Yelp
If you have any appreciation for fine diner-ing, you'll absolutely love Chick & Ruth's, a true Annapolis staple. We got the spinach and feta omelette and pancakes with apple cinnamon to top, and both were stellar! Really loved the pancakes, big and round and tasty as could be. The apple cinnamon topping just made them that much better! The restaurant itself is festive and fun and provides such a sense of nostalgia, plus the donuts and muffins they store in the window look so scrumptious and give the place the good ole diner feel. Chick & Ruth, I look forward to meeting again

Rachel M.

Yelp
This was a fun local spot in Annapolis. It is casual with delicious colossal food. I would highly recommend the crab cakes. It is one of their specialty items and very good! Unlike other places, it is me only crab meat. There is very little cake part, but it is a good mixture. I tried the fries as a side and they were good, but the crab cake is so big you don't need a side. They also give every table a free appetizer of pickles when you get here. Man vs food has been here and they have multiple colossal items you can try!

Yelp
It's a short drive from DC, so I thought why not. I ordered a seafood club, which was shrimp on top and crab cakes on the bottom. It's a meal for two in its own right. It was quality seafood, but didn't like the hot crab cakes mixed with the cold shrimp salad. I can see why Man vs Food cam to visit this place. Solid vibes in a Main Street small downtown Atlantic coast city.

Yelp
We drove from Virginia just to try their crab cakes, after seeing all the luring pictures on social media. I'd say their food are very photogenic, but the flavors are mediocre. Crab cakes were big with real crab meat, but they just didn't taste delicious. Crab meat were bland and dry. What I enjoyed the most were the complimentary pickles. Service was good. Interior felt like a diner in the 90s.

Yelp
Crab cake platter was superb! All the big chunks of crab meat were plump and savory. Squeeze of lemon and some of them sauce, and you're tasting a piece of heaven. Sarah, our waitress was attentive, food came out quick and hot. Delish!

Yelp
I've been patronizing this deli since 1980. I've been a favorite of their pickles, and true Jewish corned & Swiss on rye, ff with gravy although Thursday I didn't get the fries bc most of the time the corned beef sandwich is so big, I don't want to fill up on the fries. Well, my sandwich came, and how disappointed it was! My guest ordered the cream of crab.....well it looked like a cream of potato soup and tasted even worse, sorry I should have gotten a picture. We sent it back she got vegetable crab much better. The size of my sandwich was depressing to say the least. Ted sr, and Ted jr would never have it like that. They were famous for those stacked high corned beef sandwich. Smh.

Yelp
I was a big fan of the old Man v. Food show, so had to come by when I was in town for business. Service is on point and so friendly and fast. Food was prepared quick and came to the table fresh and hot. Love this place!

Yelp
Adorable place. Delicious food. Smells amazing. Classic old school diner. Chicken soup so was so flavorful and fresh and they definitely keep the noodles separate from the soup until serving because they are not over cooked or broken down. Crab Mac and cheese was good but too much old bay/too crabby for me. Next time I'd get the plain Mac and cheese because the elbows are cooked perfectly and the cheese sauce is delicious. Get the chocolate chip muffins from the bakery case in your way out for breakfast tomorrow!!

Yelp
Absolutely outstanding FOOD and Service! The portions are huge! The server was super busy, and provided outstanding customer service! If you want a real crab cake, this is your place!

Yelp
One of the places to eat at for the experience in Annapolis. Chick & Ruth's has a variety of menu selections! The crab and omelette was a good choice.

Yelp
I found this spot while walking down Main Street and I'm so glad I stopped in. It's a bustling, no frills diner with tons of seating. The employees are nice and my server was so sweet and attentive. They boast a great menu with tons of stuff to choose from. I went with their black coffee (which was good! not bitter at all) and the crab cakes eggs benedict with potatoes and a side of fruit. Portions are huge, especially for the price, and so tasty. I couldn't get over how big the side of fruit was! I would definitely come back here. A classic spot for diner food with a seaside twist.

Yelp
I used to love coming here as a kid. Maybe my nostalgia is clouding my judgment and that's why I didn't give this place 1 star, but my last experience with Chick & Ruth's was below subpar. Typically we've eaten there at the restaurant, but this time we ordered take-out via Doordash. I ordered a pastrami sandwich and my partner wanted chicken tenders, fries, and applesauce with a side of honey mustard. The sandwich was fine, but wouldn't be worth what I paid if this were New York - something I probably wouldn't have said 10 years ago back when Chick & Ruth's was killer. What really upset me was the chicken dinner my partner received. In the special request section when we placed the order, we mentioned that applesauce was mentioned on the menu, but there was no option to select it which was why she selected "fries" twice. Worst case scenario, we figured that the restaurant would just give her two portions of fries if it was a typo. Instead, she received NO SIDES with her chicken dinner. All she got was 4 tenders on a bed of wilted lettuce and a half toasted kaiser roll. The kicker is they had to have read the special request section because we got the honey mustard she asked for. I paid close to $15 for FOUR chicken tenders and no sides. Outrageous. In a lot of ways, it's clear that Chick & Ruth's has gone from a local favorite to a place that rests on its laurels because it has been around forever and tourists will go there because it's downtown. Super disappointed in the decline of quality over the last few visits and will definitely be more hesitant to come here going forward.

Yelp
Cool, retro deli that names their sandwiches for local politicians and celebrities. Food and service are good. Used to be open 24/7 but no more. According to the staff, downtown Annapolis pretty much dies out early now, even on weekends and summertime.
