Chick-Fil-A Launches Delivery in Redwood City Amid Anti-LGBTQ Controversy | Eater SF

"I observed that the chain’s outlet inside Mineta San Jose International Airport sparked strong protests, prompting the San Jose City Council to agree to place flags celebrating rainbow and trans rights next to the restaurant." - Eve Batey

San Jose Will Make Its Airport Chick-fil-A ‘the Gayest in the Country’ | Eater

"A soon-to-open airport outpost of the fast-food chain has become a focal point of protest after reporting showed the company’s donations to organizations that discriminated against LGBTQ people. City leaders endorsed surrounding the site with rainbow and transgender pride flags as a visible counter-signal of inclusion — with one council member even urging it be the “gayest” location in the country — while also withholding a two-year contract extension for any business that operates seven days a week. The mayor acknowledged he had misjudged extending the contract, and councilmembers hope the flags will both affirm the city’s inclusivity and publicly remind travelers of the restaurant’s controversial past; the company has responded that it holds no political or social agenda. Supporters say the display could prompt customers to rethink patronage, create visible pro-LGBTQ imagery for visitors and social media, and make it harder for self-described allies to ignore the brand’s history." - Erin DeJesus

Cajun Chain Krispy Krunchy Chicken Opens in North Oakland | Eater SF

"Slated to open at the Minetta San Jose airport, the new Chik‑Fil‑A outpost has generated controversy because of the chain's reputation for donating to anti-LGBTQ causes; I note that the San Jose city council is encouraging the franchise to hire members of the LGBTQ community, Santa Clara County supervisor Ken Yeager recommended displaying rainbow and transgender pride flags next to the restaurant to counter that bigotry, and the council says the restaurant will be forced to leave if it refuses to stay open seven days a week (it typically closes on Sundays)." - Ellen Fort

One of the only restaurants packed in the SJ airport. Lines move fast, all items are cooked fresh so it’s worth the 5-10m wait for hot food. They don’t penny & nickel you over how many sauces you want either. Service is really nice & friendly. I couldn’t read the menu because I didn’t have my glasses and the cashier read off the options. Very sweet.

Located in the San Jose Airport terminal, this location is convenient but a bit pricey. Food was fresh and tasty. Service was average. Had a quick bite before our flight.

The airport was not busy, and most of the places to get some food were either closing or already closed. This was one of the few places open on a Thursday evening at 7:30 PM. I checked to see if they were open via an app on a sign. Not only was this place very busy, but the service was flawless, even though they were out of lemonade. Granted, the menu is limited, but I was still able to get my spicy chicken sandwich. The sandwich and fries were very fresh and hot. The employees were all busines but yet offered a smile and some nice words. It was worth the walk to gate 25 from gate 5.

It's always nice to have a Chick-fil-A available for some eats. I opted for a bacon, egg and cheese biscuit meal. Sandwich itself was good. The sweet iced tea was way too sweet. Probably only drank a quarter of it before I tossed it. Hash browns were unfortunately a bit stale. Meal was $8.25. Not too bad for a quick airport meal. Take note...not open on Sundays.

Fast service. They prioritize getting you the orders fast so that you don’t spent too much time waiting. Line moves decently fast for breakfast and food is hot. Fruit cup was not soo fresh.

Around 9-10 in the morning, there was no line to place the order. It’s good and easy to place the order and get the food quickly. The cashier was friendly.
