Chick Next Door Hot Chicken

Halloween night, we were hungry on the wat back and decided to try this spot for the first time. At first impression the menu is simple but the photos show really good looking chicken sandwiches so we gave it a shot. Around 13 min. after ordering and we were presented with 2 delicious chicken sliders and crispy seasoned fries. You spend around 15-18$ with a combo and a drink, but the portions are very generous and even the pickles seem home-made. Everything about this place screams good- quality I ingredients. Definitely a must if you like chicken sandwiches and chicken tenders!

Small portions, high prices, not worth it. 1x Caulipoppers ($11.24) 1x Supreme Fries ($28.72) (price of fries plus 1 tender) 1x Cheese Fries ($9.36) 1x Churros ($4.99) First off, “Churros” is misleading and only gives you 1 for $5. It does not say that in the description or the name, but it does designate multiple and allows you to choose multiple flavors. Expect only one though wrapped tightly, fresh, hot. Supreme Fries were about the size an order of In N Out style fries. We ordered an extra tender but it seemed like they didn’t add it, but we were definitely charged for it. Portion is small, flavor is lacking. We chose medium and it tasted naked. A handful of chopped pickles thrown in and a dash of ranch. Cheese Fries are similar to animal style fries. It’s American cheese melted with some sort of sauce and chives. It’s not melty sauce, it’s like In N Out where the cheese hardens when it gets cold. It arrived hard like plastic, even though the site is 5 minutes away. Caulipoppers were the highlight. Very good, hot, good breading. The portion is for 10 pieces but only half of them were decent size. The other half were as small as tater tots. This runs for $11.24. Altogether minus any discounts via Postmates, this runs for ~$70. For how small the portions are and the quality of the food, I’d highly consider not eating here or finding a place of better value. Especially since its delivery, they up charge as well. Added wait times based on past physical restaurant visit: for a table and for food. Wait times were extremely long and food took a very long time.

Got the #1 Slider & Fries (extra hot) & Steve's fries (Hot). The CRUNCH. It was juicy inside & had the best crunch of all the chicken I've had. Seasoning was good & came with a tiny bun. Extra hot wasn't that intense if you're used to spicy food. Fries were crispy & tasty. Sauce is ok, didn't like it too much but the food was good without it (not sure what seasoning it was I didn't like). Steve's Fries were yummy & fun to eat; had nice flavor with soft Mac & cheese. Staff was ok. It's a cute small place located on the corner with about 10 tables outside in a bright yellow cute area. No bathroom or inside area. Prices are fair for the portions. The parking lot is pretty tiny, but there's parking available on the street too. I definitely going back for that crunch.

We had a good experience doing a weekday evening pickup here, very quick! The chicken is flavorful and good, the sliders are really big! One of those with fries was good enough! The sauce was very tasty too along with the pickles and slaw. We enjoyed the vanilla cream churro and thought it was cool they have those on the menu! We ordered the toppings for a slider on the side and we didn’t get them at all though- so I hope they can be careful next time in delivering accurate customized orders. The patio looked clean and comfy, we look forward to trying it out again!

Having to wait 20+ minutes for two sliders and fries on an empty night is criminal. At least if things tasted good it would be justified, but sadly that is not the case. Worker tried to make an argument that it took so long because fhe chicken is "fresh" but it surely did not taste like it. Taste of chicken was OK, complete slider was put together very sloppy. Fries were mediocre. I don't see why anybody would come here when there are way better chicken locations in Glendale.

Came around 8:45pm, no one was there to take our order. We waiting for someone to come to the window for about 5 minutes. This place used to be amazing but the service is always mid, the quality of the food has gone down too. They used to have Cajun fries and now they’re regular shoe string fries. Prices are still the same or higher tho!

Wow, I mean WOW. The chicken was too delicious. This is my new favorite Chicken sandwich joint in Glendale. The prices are very fair especially with the enormous amount of food you get. The staff are very friendly and awesome.

There’s always a CHICKEN WITH A GREAT LOVE STORY. Let’s begin this review. Chick Next Door was born out of love in the neighborhood. It was inspired by a man’s own love story of serendipitously meeting his next door neighbor who ultimately became his lovely wife and partner in hosting intimate dinner parties, and viola a go-to chicken joint in your neighborhood emerged: gourmet chicken tenders, hot chicken sliders, and fries. Chick Next Door is a new chicken joint that was founded in 2020 and they’re located in Glendale. I was feeling adventurous for a late night dinner and end up on this chicken joint. Their food and drink list were not that extensive albeit expected since it’s a chicken fast food joint. I ordered Combo 2: two chicken sliders and french fries and pink lemonade. You can adjust the level of chicken’s hotness; I opted for mild. The two sliders and fries were fresh, warm, tender, crispy and juicy. The tiny chicken sliders have a unique interesting flavor but not substantial enough to say the least. As for the Lemonade, it was refreshing and cold. Service was mildly slow. Prices were fair. Staff was attentive, competent and professional. Indoor and outdoor seats are available. They have a great background music (kaskade etc.) while you eat your crispy chicken sandwich. In this great review, it’s time to end our little chick review. Overall, I had an average experience and food/drink. I had better chicken sandwich (e.g., Chicken Day) and bun. I’d still recommend this joint.

Place is solid man. Good tender chicken, always fried right and better than Dave's. Support local and stop by. The staff are sometimes meh- but they're kids. They do a pretty good job of cooking though

Came here for takeout based on a friend's enthusiastic review, and I was sadly underwhelmed. The chicken sandwiches were quite good, and we were very pleased with those menu items. We got a variety of spice levels to try them out, which also made for a fun game. It's a good thing we did, too, because the spice level was a little milder than we'd expected for a hot chicken spot. Still, an enjoyable menu item! And now we know what spice level we like. The tenders, unfortunately, were all overcooked and unpleasantly rubbery, almost as if someone dropped them in the fryer and got distracted? Most restaurants set timers or alarms, but they were clearly amiss this time. Adding insult to injury, the fries were cold, which made them inedible (who wants to eat cold fries??). That was deeply disappointing, because my friend specifically raved about the fries. Parking is limited, so if you're getting takeout, be sure to go with a spouse / friend so you can just pop out while your spouse / friend takes the car around the block.

Chick Next Door is a local Fried Chicken place nestled on Chevy Chase and Glenoaks in Northeastern Glendale. They offer decent light, spicy hot chicken at a reasonable price. Our family got as takeout a slider, three tenders, and fries. The tenders were decent, lightly battered, juicy, and accompanied by a spicy peppery dipping sauce. Aside from being light they were good but nothing unique nor mind blowing. Following was the slider, a slightly larger tender topped with tangy slaw and sauce on a slightly sweet bun. Again great but not mind blowing. The sauce was a little too spicy for my liking, with the pepper overpowering the other flavors. Better to leave the spice on the chicken so your sauce consumption isn't limited by your spice tolerance. Fries were good and well seasoned, but not exceptional, and the Mac and cheese appropriately al dente with a decent sauce while not overly heavy. Service was reasonably fast (wait time 5 minutes). The outside area was relatively clean but spartan, and not especially inviting. Perhaps it was the time of day, but this place is better served for takeout. Prices were reasonable (see photo) but not exceptional. Chick Next Door promises what its name suggests; local, decent fried chicken. Good if you're in the area and want a relatively light, tasty bite, but not worth a detour. Food: 4/5 Ambiance: 3.5/5 Value: 4/5

Pretty solid spot. Excellent customer service, good food, cute location. The spice is NOT spicy enough for me so next time I'll do the don't chicken out option EZPZ. I did the combo 4 and the supreme fries, and while everything was good just expect smaller than typical portions. BUT, it is really good. The chicken was fried to a golden crisp, but the tender was a little small. The components of the actual supreme fries are okay on their own but definitely magic when combined. Anyways, this spot is yum!

Stopped by here since I was in the area and needed to grab a lunch. Parking is hit and miss. Depending on time/day, there is a shared parking lot next door. Otherwise there's some street parking. Order from the window and either get to go or there's a small patio area to eat there. I got a combo 1 - slider and fries. Be aware that these are sliders so one may not be filling. Taste wise the slider was okay. Had decent flavor and crunch but not the best I've had. The fries were pretty good. Good crunch and flavor. The sauce they provide went well with the fries. It had a little bit of a spice. Personally I wouldn't make the trek out here just for the chicken slider, but everyone has their personal preference on how a Nashville chicken sandwiches should be.

Waited 10 minutes just to order, mind you there was no line. Ordered mild supreme fries & country steve fries. Both were wrong, I received 2 Steve fries. One was labeled country ( it was hot) other labeled mild ( had no spice). The worker said they will fix it, after 10 minutes we got the wrong order again (Steve fries were hot and supreme fries had no spice whatsoever) but i finally got supreme fries. If you like to receive wrong order then this place is for you.

Was up in Angeles Crest for a photoshoot and decided to stop by Chick Next Door for some food. Ordered the slider / tender combo and Steve's Fries. Ordered through the website while I was on my way here to save some time and my order was ready about a minute after I arrived. Friendly workers offered extra sauce and utensils, cool little dining/waiting area as well. Parking area extremely small be prepared to park on the street or make your own parking space Unfortunately the spice levels were very inconsistent. If the spice levels were better, this spot can definitely be a 5/5 for me. Slider 3/5 Mild Heat level. Tasted naked but the coleslaw was a nice touch, nice and juicy chicken with crunchy breading, would definitely order again Tender 3/5 Medium heat level. Once again tasted naked, no heat whatsoever. Juicy chicken and crunchy breading though, would definitely order again regardless of it not being spicy Fries 4/5 These fries remind me of rally's fries. Absolutely love the fries here, would definitely recommend plain fries over Steve's fries. Steve's Fries 2.5/5 I personally would stick to their tenders or sliders combos and have plain fries over these fries. Maybe it was due to the lack of heat from the chicken but these fries were just okay.

Stopped by for a quick bite. Picked up 3 tender meal mild with fries. It's hard to gauge flavor and spice with some chicken spots, some places medium is the best while others it's too spicy. Some places medium mild is too bland. We tried mild here and it was a little bland. The chicken itself was tasty and juicy but lacked a little spice and flavor. Maybe medium is the way to go here. If I'm in the area might check it out again. Staff were friendly. The location is a take out window with only outdoor seating. Everything is halal which is a plus.

The fries are bomb it's so crispy and the sauce is amazing. Also the yellow seating place is very cute

Came on a Saturday afternoon and there were a few people there. The parking lot is VERY small so we parked on the street. It was a small place with some seating on the side walk and some seating semi outside. We got the Steve's Fries and I would say it was good but not amazing. The sauce was REALLY good, the chicken and fries paired well. The only thing was that the Mac and cheese lacked flavor.

I was thrilled to find these delicious chicken sliders!!! I was driving by this cute little neighborhood. I ordered the chicken sliders with fries. It was the perfect size and absolutely delicious. The fries were seasoned perfectly and nice and HOT right out of the fryer!!! They were so friendly and patient as I stared at their menu trying to decide I wanted for dinner.. Brought the food home and it was seriously delicious. I'm so glad I decided to give them a try. Do your self a favor and give them a try

Glendale has a lot of hot chicken sandwiches and this one is very good as well. Strawberry lemonade is on the sweeter side. I had the sliders which are quite large and more than enough for a meal.

First time trying and didn't live up to the expectations I had for it based on the reviews online. Fries: way too salty Sauce: overpowering garlic flavor Chicken: dry with areas undercooked, and overwhelming batter to chicken ratio Heat level: the extra hot was 1/10 on the spiciness scale for me I would not order again sorry guys

For an on the fly decision I couldn't have stopped at a better place. Small staff that provided excellent service and the food my daughter is still talking about a week later. We ordered the sliders along with Steve's fries, and mac & cheese. Nothing disappointed, the chicken was cooked perfectly and the portions were generous.

I was looking for a good chicken sandwich place and found this place. I got the combo 1 in Hot and it was pretty good! I wouldn't really consider it hot though. If you're looking for something spicy maybe the extra hot would be better? I definitely would come again though! The fries are a 10/10. Service was fast and the outdoor seating was nice.

The food was delicious! The fries had the "perfect"crunch and the chicken was juicy and crispy! Their house sauce was good. Took about 15 minutes for the food and they cook it fresh! They have a pretty cozy and spacing outside eating area as well. We got the "extra hot" jumbo tender and the "hot" slider. Personally, we are heat seekers and the extra hot for me tasted similar to a medium restaurant salsa

I like that this place is open late and has great chicken sandwiches, great tenders and a variety of sides. Come get the Mac and cheese and enjoy yourself in the sitting area. Always packed at night but they are fast and reliable taste!

First visit here and I was very impressed with the crispiness of the chicken, the spice, flavor and even the french fries were perfect. My friend also enjoyed his sandwich combo and the mac & cheese. We will be returning whenever there's another late night craving for spicy crispy chicken.

Normally I came here to enjoy some decent spicy chicken.. but today's experience was lacking in so many ways... the don't chicken out spice was a joke... I've had medium spicy what been spicier than that and the fact I had to sign for it was silly... the inconsistency is frustrating cause I've had their don't chicken out and xspicy and it's a hit or miss... I asked for the churro to be madelater and it was on the receipt but the cook didn't want to so they had it done when my order was complete and they ended up cooking the wrong one... I didn't even want to go and talk to them about it cause they seemed like they wouldn't given a shit... the service was lazy and uncaring and it really made me feel like I wasted my money there...

I've been coming here for years, back when it was called Trap Fried Chicken, and it's still one of my favorite spots. My friends and I are completely addicted to Steve's Fries--it's hands down the best way to enjoy Nashville hot chicken. The chicken itself has a great spice to it, and the fries are my favorite anywhere--yes, even better than McDonald's (and I love McDonald's fries). The Chick Sauce is the real star of the show. It's somewhere between a chipotle aioli and a comeback sauce, and it's easily the best sauce I've had for this type of food. Pro tip: do NOT eat this with ranch--always go for the Chick Sauce. For spice levels, I recommend medium or hot--anything higher might be too much unless you're into serious heat. The mac and cheese is also a standout and one of my favorites. I've tried their chicken sandwiches, and while they're decent, I'd choose the fries every time. The strawberry lemonade is a skip for me, but their churros are solid--though, let's be real, it's hard to mess up a churro. I've met the owner, Steve, a few times, and he's a very nice guy. The staff here are also extremely friendly and make the experience even better. Overall, this spot nails it for Nashville hot chicken and fries, and I'll keep coming back for more!

i've ordered this food place from Uber Eats multiple times sometimes they give me a good amount of food for the $18 that it cost other times they give me a very little amount. this time I ordered the Steve mini fries and they gave me a very little proportion and then I wasn't able to get a refund I think for the amount of money that it cost they should at least make the box a little heavier.It should at least live up to the picture they post.

This is one of my favorite hot chicken places in the area! I recently went here for the first time and was blown away by the flavor!

This place slings some solid tendies. The fries are...cut potatoes. But those tendies. They have a crunchy bite and the seasoning is fire. They tend to run a bit on the mild side so bit the Hot for decent kick. There is a hot tendie challenge and you have to sign a waiver. Maybe a bit over the top. Get the Steve's Fries and a diet pop. Done.

Really difficult to find convenient food in Glendale, let alone clean food. This place is a gem for fast food in the area. Really tasty hot chicken for lunch with their sauce. They even have churros. They have their own parking lot and you order at the window.

We were at a festival this weekend and chick next door was a vendor and THANK GOD THEY WERE. The chicken was so tender, the Mac and cheese fries were out of this world. The workers were very kind and we will definitely be going more often! Thank you for amazing food!

Honestly I think this is my new favorite place. The cashier, Jordan Mahler deserves a raise he works so hard. And he's very attractive might I add. And the foods pretty good, I can taste the passion from the workers

I've been coming here for a while and the food's been good, but I always end up waiting really long, today for example I have a one hour lunch break from work and I decided to use that and go get myself some chicken, however I got there the person working I never got his name I waited 5 to 10 minutes just for him to take my order because he was busy talking to someone, besides that I waited 28 minutes for my actual food and when I proceeded to ask about if my order was ready he stated in a rude way that "you know there is other people before you" Look the food's good but I don't appreciate his workmanship.

Great place. Right where I used to live so I went there on occasion to get food. Fried chicken was good and the sauce had a nice kick. Small place but nice their logo is cute. Definitely a spot to got late at night. Guy gave me extra fries when I left a tip. So sad I don't live here anymore.

Lately, I feel like this place is a hit or miss. This is second time in a two month span that I come and the food is a miss. Today the fries were not good. The were super greasy, and had soggy consistency. The taste as if they had either been sitting for a long time or had been refried once they were fried to heat them up. They were also cold which makes no sense. The chicken was okay but It taste a bit dry and that all In all is disappointing.

Found this place by accident and decided to give it a try. And it's now my favorite chicken sandwich place. The portion might be not big, it's a slider instead of a full-on sandwich, but the flavors are huge! And the fries are the most perfect fries known to man! It's not too salty, not too crispy (that it gets tough and sharp), with perfect crunch on the batter. The sauce that comes with it also gives a kick to it. Medium hot is the right one if you don't enjoy spicy food but wants a little heat.

Came across this spot while on road trip and decided to check it out, my partner and I were pleasantly surprised! There's only 2 people working as it's a small spot, and it wasn't too busy when we went, but from looking around you can tell they're well loved. We ordered the 2 sliders combo with fries and a side of mac and cheese (typical fast food soft stuff). The mac and cheese was fine, but the chicken was very good! This is one of those sandwiches that you wish wasn't just a slider, the mini brioche bun with the fresh crispy chicken and the combo of whatever the sauce is, delicious! If I happen to come across chick next door again I'll definitely stop!

This is my to go chicken sandwich spot, always get extra chick sauce. And they're open late.

I was craving something and didn't know what it was.... This was it!!! My first time here and it was so much more than I was expecting. The MINI STEVES FRIES was big compared to what I had in my mind. I think you could split these. It's fries, Mac and cheese, and hot chicken on top! The flavors melded so well together. Who would've thought ;D I think I've found my new favorite spot. Can't wait to come back. Loooove it!

I really don't know how this place has good reviews. Do yourself a favor and go to Dave's Hot Chicken instead. It's so dry and flavorless??? I don't get it.

There was an online promo buy 1 get 1 free, but when we tried to order, it always gave us an error. We tried to call a few times and no one answered. If you don't want to honor your promo, why give us promo in the first place?

I was craving friend chicken after my appointment. I did a quick yelp and found this place just across the street! The guy was nice and let me get coleslaw instead of fries. I love coleslaw and like to try it when places have it. This coleslaw was not as creamy as I like, but it had a good flavor and fresh crunch. As for the chicken, it was nice and hot! It was juicy with a nice crispy coating. I think it's a hidden spot so not sure how much traffic they get, but next time I'm down here, I'm going again.

The best chicken place I have been to! Even though it's kinda small and resembles a fast food place, the food is always fresh and delicious! The staff is always super kind and quick too. This cozy chicken place is my go-to whenever I crave chicken, would definitely recommend, and this trip wasn't my first and definitely won't be my last!

Food is 5/5 but service is hit or miss and mostly a 3/5. One of my favorite go to places! Chicken sandwiches are delicious, fries are so crispy, comeback sauce is perfection, and their Steve's fries are bomb! (I get Mac & cheese and comeback sauce on the side to keep fries from getting soggy). Place has covered outdoor patio seating area, sometimes music is blasting or too loud but no biggie. Love how late they're open because most places in the area aren't. We usually take food to go and it travels well. I honestly only go for the food but it would help if they improved customer service to be more consistent. I never know what I'm in for with Staff here and it kinda sucks and makes you not want to go. Sometimes they're super nice and will even go as far as offer you complimentary drinks or churros and have great customer service. Other times it's just the polar opposite. I've had incidents where they've yelled "WE DON'T HAVE HONEY!" at the top of their lungs after a simple ask for honey, hah! Could've been a bad day for the dude at the register but its always an extreme at this place. I've had other incidents where I get tons of eye rolling and treated like I'm a huge burden for asking for ketchup. Ketchup should be a normal ask. Maybe a customer service refresher course? I don't know what they need but I know management/ Steve is always kind If we happen to be served by him. UPDATE: Went a few weeks ago and was finally offered ketchup and honey without being scolded, great friendly service thank you! Went today and it was the rude service. Overall I have to question if I'll go as often, I still love their food, it would be 5 stars if their workers were more consistent.

Hands down the best chicken sliders I've had! In need of comfort food? This is your spot. I took the first bite of my chicken slider and instantly knew I'd be returning to this place. The sliders, sauces, and fries are all so tasty and satisfying. Highly recommend the seasonal lemonade, too. I've tried the watermelon lemonade and the mango lemonade, both very refreshing. The staff is kind and the service is fast. They have a seating area, but note that it's in an open area, so be sure to bundle up if it's a cold, winter day.
