The Best Restaurants in Frisco, Texas | Eater Dallas

"This Korean spot makes chicken the main feature on its menu, including excellent Korean fried chicken and hot pot. For a special treat, order bansang, which finds each dish presented for individual service rather than family-style." - Eater Staff

This is one of our favorite places to eat. The food is always so fresh and delicious. There are many times we eat here 2 times a week. The hot stone bibimbap with bulgogi is our fav meal to order and the pan fried dumplings are a must to start with. More than anything, the service is impeccable! We’ve had several different servers and it really doesn’t matter, it’s consistent all the way around. Everyone is so helpful, kind and welcoming. Also, for what it’s worth— cleanliness is a top priority!

Dani H.

Google
Excellent food that easily stands out above the many options around Koreatown in Carrollton. The portions are generous, the quality is consistently great, and the service is truly exceptional. Mira is incredibly attentive and detailed, checking in on every table and making everyone feel genuinely welcomed. She remembers us every time and that personal touch is the reason we keep coming back!

Dolores M.

Google
We have gone for lunch and dinner. We went with the family for lunch one day and everything was served hot. They also give sides of cucumber, kimchi, broccoli, and potato salad. Which they refill as u finish it. Then we went on a Friday for dinner, food was just as good if not better. The hospitality is 5 star. Everyone was so friendly and nice. Must try spot! Mira is the BEST!!

Google
We always go here for our Korean food fix. The portion sizes are generous, and the dishes are consistently good, honestly better than what we’ve had around the HMart Carrollton area, with very comparable prices. All of the chicken dishes are highly recommended because of the freshness and quality. My husband always tries a new dish each time we visit, and he’s already tried about eight different chicken dishes—all of them were excellent. Their drumsticks and wings are especially awesome, and the fries are always a must. Above all, the manager, Mira, is truly the kindest and sweetest. She goes above and beyond to make sure everything is perfect and will certainly take good care of you. She’s incredibly kind to our kids, and our kids absolutely love her, which is why we keep coming back to Chicken Barn.

Kristen W.

Google
This place was absolutely phenomenal and the hospitality was unmatched. We loved the chicken (soy garlic and Korean sweet and spicy tenders and drumsticks) and the Bulgogi jeongol was absolutely incredible. Thank you Mira for taking such great care of us. I can’t wait to come back again soon! ♥️

Spencer F.

Google
Mira was a fantastic Host, the hot soy garlic tenders were phenomenal as well as all the banchan. So fresh and traditional, will definitely be coming back. Even got to share my meal with the gentleman next to me at the bar. Who she lovingly nicknamed super Mario!!!

Google
Chicken Barn in Frisco absolutely hit the spot! The food is fresh, flavorful, and cooked perfectly every time. The menu has a great variety, and you can really tell they put care into everything they serve. What made the visit even better was the service — Mira was amazing! She was welcoming, attentive, and went above and beyond to make sure everything was just right. Her friendly energy really stood out and made the whole experience even more enjoyable. If you’re in Frisco and craving some delicious chicken with outstanding service, Chicken Barn is the place to go — and be sure to ask for Mira!

Andrea M.

Google
WOW!!! The staff were so warm and friendly. Mira, the manager was fantastic. She was so attentive to everyone in the restaurant. Her hospitality is unmatched. The food is the best Korean barbecue in the DFW area. Definitely worth a visit! Can’t wait to come back.

Yelp
Great Korean spot! Service and ambiance were awesome -- K-pop music had my kids feeling like backup dancers. My son went crazy for the sweet & spicy drumsticks, and the bulgogi could've easily fed four (or one hungry dad on a mission). My other kid loved the Doenjang Jjigae -- the seafood one -- super tasty and comforting. Manager and staff were super nice too. We'll 100% be back to taste the rest of the menu -- gotta keep the K-food adventure going!

Yelp
Frisco, Texas 3.5 Stars, really good Korean style wings. Average chicken bulgogi. Didn't care for the Beef Bulgogi.
google avatar

Mary C.

Yelp
We ordered chicken wings in 2 flavors and a chap chae with Bulgogi which was served with a ban chans. Chicken wings were crispy, juicy and flavorful. Chap Chae was just okay. We did not understand why the soup was miso. It did not match the meal. Portions are small for the prices. Service was good. Place was clean.

Yelp
This Korean chicken spot is a must-visit. The staff are so friendly. The fried chicken is perfectly crispy and packed with flavor, with enough variety to keep me coming back again and again. The beef short ribs are tender, rich, and absolutely delicious. Perfect for a date night. I've loved it so much I've returned multiple times--and it never disappoints.
google avatar

Stacy W.

Yelp
Customer service was great. Kept checking in as we ate but not to the point it was hassling. We ordered 12 piece wings with half soy garlic and other half sweet and spicy. We each ordered a soup as well. The one I wanted ran out so had to opt for tofu soup
google avatar

Yelp
Stopped by this Korean chicken spot and really liked the vibe. It has this barn-style atmosphere that feels super fun and laid-back. The staff was really friendly and welcomed me right away, which set the tone. No line on a Saturday afternoon, which was a nice surprise. I went with the soy chicken drumsticks and they hit the spot. It was crispy on the outside, flavorful, and not too heavy. Beer selection was a little limited, but what they did have paired fine with the chicken. Service was solid all around. Definitely a place I'd come back to when I'm craving fried chicken.
google avatar

Yelp
When you first walk into the restaurant the servers are so sweet they greet you with open arms. They had some music playing in the background different tv's for you to watch. They also had a bar on the side and different flavors of Soju which was really good. Chicken Barn's Korean-style chicken is a flavor bomb--crispy on the outside, juicy inside, and coated in that sweet-spicy glaze that keeps you reaching for more. Easily one of the best comfort bites around! I would come back and visit again.
google avatar

Yelp
I really liked the decor of this place! Definitely gave rustic bar which was pretty cool. The fried chicken was great, fried perfectly and the sauces were tasty too. The other dishes, however, were pretty mid. tofu soup: 3/5 Kind of bland, but the side dishes were good pork ribs: 1/5 Extremely dry and flavorless sweet potato fries: 2/5 My mom had gotten them before and said they were soggy, so we asked for them to make them extra crispy this time. They were still really soft so tteok: 4/5 Hard to go wrong with this dish! Would definitely come back for the chicken, but everything else I would pass.
google avatar

Yelp
Best Korean fried chicken! Crispy, savory and sweet! Complete treat! The fried chicken- amazing, the short ribs- wow! Juicy, and seasoned to absolute perfection, each bite of their chicken feels like a celebration of every piece is fried to golden excellence without ever feeling greasy. Tender, smoky, and marinated in a rich, savory-sweet glaze that hits every taste note just right, these ribs practically melt in your mouth. To top it all off, the service here is phenomenal. Friendly, attentive staff who treat you like family, with every detail taken care of...You can feel the pride they take in their food and hospitality. Whether you're coming for a casual meal or a special night out, this spot hits every mark, amazing food, top-tier short ribs, and warm, excellent service. An absolute must-visit.

Yelp
The service is Always Top notch, food is great, and the kiddos love it In this visit I had the Kimchi Jjigae, spicy Hotpot of pure vegan delight, and the side were great, the wife had the pork bulgogi, and brat some potsticker, the tween some beef bulgogi All very yummy at a great price.
google avatar

Terrence W.

Yelp
You're always greeted with a smile here. The Korean garlic and soy garlic is my favorite I've found a new spot and really like it. Atmosphere is very welcoming.

Yelp
Really solid Korean restaurant in Frisco! They have a wide variety of dishes including soups, meats, and fried chicken. What I appreciate is that they offer hearty Korean soups that you don't see too much outside of Koreatown. Have had the galbitang (short rib soup), sam gye tang (ginseng chicken), and sundubu (tofu soup). They were all really tasty especially on a cold day. The chicken was a little dry but was interesting how it was stuffed with rice. The banchan is really good! The potato salad is addicting and everything tastes really fresh. I like the fried tofu, fried fish cakes, and kimchi. The fried chicken is also really good and very crunchy. Definitely adding it to the rotation to satisfy any sort of Korean food craving.
google avatar

Paul L.

Yelp
Have only had the samgyetang here and would come for it again! They give a huge variety of side disbes which I always enjoy. I know a lot of people come here for the fried chicken so maybe that's a good option too. Taking a star away because last time I went, the employees were all over the place which resulted is poor service.
google avatar

Raine B.

Yelp
Lovely Korean spot here in Frisco! We've been for lunch and dinner now, and we love it! The service is always great--the servers are so kind and attentive! They constantly refill and make sure you're good! Food is also delicious! When we came for lunch, we really enjoyed our sides! I loved my hot stone bibimbap--it was plentiful of ingredients! As for dinner, fries and chicken were cooked to perfection! Recommend this spot if you're craving Korean food in Frisco!

Yelp
Travel to the Dallas/Frisco area every month for business always in search of something new to my pallet. I love japche, but hard to find with just the noodle alone. I found it here! Before I continue let's start w Kelly! Kelly Kelly Kelly girl you are top tier and no one can take that away. The greet was warm and welcoming, she instantly identified I was a newbie. She opened the menu and explained everything, and made suggestions. I told her I was in search of japche and she showed me everything that included it. She even blessed me on my way home and called me by name on my way out! The set up of the restaurant is themed to the name "barn" style inside. Music not too loud but up beat, TV's around the restaurant with, sports, K-pop, and food prep. Very clean along with smelling delightful of what would be coming your way. I had fried dumplings (delicious) and Bulgogi Japche Bop.... Very tasty and on point. If you have never had, don't pass up give it a try you won't be disappointed. Don't over order portion is more than enough I'll be back for sure. Thanks Kelly for the great service and suggestions.

Yelp
6 piece wings: lemon pepper & soy garlic. Right amount of batter & sauce & its crispy, not crunchy. Dak guksu: comforting & flavorful chicken noodle soup with lots of veg. Egg cooked right. Dak jook: chicken congee; another comforting dish, just needed a bit more salt. Jap chae is quite filling. Refillable banchan. The salad dressing is yuzu with some wasabi. I was not expecting that so when I took a big bite, I got a big sinus opener lol. Each time service is always friendly & attentive.

Yelp
WOW! Crazy good food, amazing service, and great ambiance... Found Chicken Barn during a trip from FW to Nebraska Furniture, and was I so glad I searched it out! Its on the side of the strip center, so keep looking, even in the slam packed parking lot! Lets start with they have some of the VERY best Kimchee I have EVER had in my life...and I not only love Kimchee but judge a Korean restaurant by the Kimchee. My waitress said they make it in house, and frankly I will drive from FW to have it again. Korean fried chicken - amazing. Fried dumplings - also amazing. I plan on being back at Nebraska Furniture next weekend and you can bet I will be at Chicken Barn after shopping. But this time exploring the more traditional Korean dishes...cant wait! OH - and dont miss wandering the market in the strip center...beyond cool!
google avatar

Alex A.

Yelp
Decided to try this out because of the reviews and we were wanting chicken. So glad we did. Super cute place. The people were super nice. We got the sweet and spicy tenders, seafood pancakes and bulgogi bansang. All of them were excellent!! We will definitely be back.
google avatar

Brenda K.

Yelp
We came here for dinner and the ambiance is great! The service is just mediocre and the food was ok but on the expensive side for the amount that you get! When we asked for more ban chans, the waiter said that's all we get, I thought ban chans are usually unlimited! We had quite a few dishes, the one that I really liked the most was the chicken wings, maybe that's why it's called Chicken Barn!
google avatar

David L.

Yelp
Really like this place! Was expecting just a normal Korean fried chicken place but this exceeded my expectations!! It's a nice and new interior that was clean. Service was fantastic! Super friendly staff and great with kids! Food was very authentic. Lots of variety on the menu. + Soy garlic drumsticks were great + Seafood pancakes were nom + Ribs were tender and flavorful + Corn cheese and fries were tasty = Bulgogi soup was a bit sweet Overall will definitely be back to try out more of the menu!! Probably our favorite Korean joint in this area!
google avatar

Jessica M.

Yelp
I can't even say enough good things about this place. The wings were INSANE, we got buffalo and soy garlic and we were so wow'ed. The pork bulgogi was delicious, this was my brother's first time eating it and he absolutely loved it. I will say our bill was a little high but well worth the money! Service was great, they were constantly checking in on us. Come hungry, the portions are big and we had plenty of leftovers.
google avatar

T M.

Yelp
Food was phenomenal! The service was super good and the ambience reminded us of a chicken and beer place in a Kdrama. We went on a Sunday and it was crowded the Ages when looking around ranged from 15-40 years old and average age being 30.
google avatar

Hannah L.

Yelp
This was my first time visiting Chicken Barn and I have to say it was really good!! Ambiance: There is louder music playing and bright lights. There is all kinds of seating from booths to table and chairs. The service is decent they are friendly and try their best to be accommodating. Chicken Soup: The soup was really good. It was flavorful and a pretty clean broth. You add your own salt and it is really tasty with the chicken thats boiled into the soup. There is no strong taste so it kinda reminds me of a tame version of chicken soup. Korean Sweet Spicy wings: I excepted these to be spicy but actually they were more sweet than anything and had a nice crisp to it. All the wings were a good size and had such a nice crunch to it. The flavor was just so different and special that I really loved it!
google avatar

Samantha G.

Yelp
Ambiance: casual, rustic feel, sit down restaurant Service: FRIENDLY!! Our server was so sweet and very attentive! Food: JUICIEST FRIED CHICKEN! I love dark meat, so I ordered the classic bone-in fried chicken, and it was so good!
google avatar

Andy P.

Yelp
I think bbq chicken is much better... the chicken doesn't hold as well to go... flavors were just ok. Also ordered the truffle fries and wasn't impressed either. Overall not bad... definitely not great
google avatar

Analia L.

Yelp
Amazing time and we had a great time with Mira. She really made it feel like home! The Korean food was perfect and home cooked. We will def go back!
google avatar

Aqsa T.

Yelp
Great food and great service! I was so happy to find somewhere close to my house. My niece (who is rather picky with her food) said it was the best Korean fried chicken she has had. I had some sort of spicy chicken soup because I was under the weather and it definitely hit the spot. When we were there it was rather slow; I recommend giving them a visit. They deserve more customers!
google avatar

Kimberly G.

Yelp
At first we thought this was solely a KFC joint, but it has a pretty extensive menu of Korean dishes as well. Our meal came out quickly and was delicious. The banchan was fresh; potato salad was a hit. The customer service was top notch: friendly and very attentive. I'm glad we stumbled a cross this place.
google avatar

Eduardo C.

Yelp
Just came back from Korea so this was a welcome repeat of some of my food experiences there. The fried chicken was very good - nice fry, big pieces, and not overly sauced. We enjoyed the garlic soy. We also tried the bulgogi and equally it had great flavor. They will give you seconds and thirds on the accompaniments, which include some kimchi, broccoli, potato salad, and fish cakes. All very good. I think overall we'd opt for the fried chicken and get a variety of sauces. Solid place for Korean popular dishes.
google avatar

Tiffany L.

Yelp
I'd say this place is pretty mid. Ordered wings, dweji bulgogi, tteok-kkochi, and kkanpunggi. The menu does not say ANYWHERE that the tteok-kkochi would have sausage and the rice cakes were fried. If you look at the menu picture it just shows rice cakes so I was very disappointed. The wings were barely covered in sauce, I basically had to scrape it off the tray. The only positive part was the chicken was very crispy but the soy garlic still lacked flavor. Also the TVs that showed pictures of the supposed menu items had pickled radish with the wings. I had to ask the waitress for it and she said "yeah I can get you one if you want." Why would you put it in your pictures but I have to ASK for it..? Dweji bulgogi was probably the best item of them all. Kkampunggi wasnt even really worth ordering. We all wished we went for lunch somewhere else instead.
google avatar

Minh N.

Yelp
The food was absolutely fantastic! We got wings with Korean sweet and spicy and it was so delicious, the wings were cooked perfectly and crispy. The congee was amazing and we just had a great time :)

Yelp
We found the new korean restaurant near our house. Delicious food. LA Galbi is the best. Staffs are really nice. Clean and good design.

Daniel H.

Yelp
I went to Chicken Barn with a group of six people around 9:20 PM (they close at 10 PM). We came specifically for their Korean fried chicken, which we were really looking forward to. When we arrived, the Korean lady at the counter told us, "only Korean food," which was fine that's exactly what we wanted. But after we sat down, she suddenly said, "no Korean fried chicken." That was frustrating because she could have told us that right away instead of letting us sit down and get settled. On top of that, she kept rushing us and told us we had one minute to order..this was only 9:25 PM, still 35 minutes before closing. The whole experience felt rude and unwelcoming. If the kitchen stops serving certain items earlier, that should be communicated clearly and staff shouldn't make customers feel like a burden for showing up well before closing time. We left disappointed and won't be coming back.
google avatar

Monalisa Z.

Yelp
One of the rare Korean places selling fried chicken and regular Korean dishes like bulgogi, japchae, soon tofu. Good enough if you don't wanna drive to Carrollton, being in Frisco the rent is expensive so the portions are not that big and banchan only 3-4 types (small) I honestly dunno if you can ask for more banchan when you run out of them.
google avatar

Prasath S.

Yelp
Great food here. Seafood pancake was packed with various seafood such as shrimp, baby octopus and clams and was paired with a beautiful soy based sauce. The chicken wings were incredible and reminded me of the good ol KFC days (when it used to be good). We asked for the sauce on the side so we could actually enjoy the crunch of the chicken and that was the right call imo. We finished off the meal with the LA Galbi which is stellar. All in all a very positive experience and look forward to returning to try some more of their authentic Korean dishes.
google avatar

Jerry Y.

Yelp
Awesome spot in Frisco! It's typically hard to find a spot that can accommodate large groups with kids and all. The staff was particularly nice, situating us in the corner since we had a stroller. Also, it was a cool restaurant because it had Korean Fried Chicken but also traditional Korean dishes. Typically places are either or and not both. It had a cool sports bar vibe with TVs all around the restaurant and food came out FAST.
google avatar

Leonard L.

Yelp
My wife & I came here for dinner. The servers were nice. The food tasted good. The atmosphere was okay. They replace Mad for Chicken.
google avatar

Jec M.

Yelp
Absolutely fantastic! All 3 of us were blown away by our yummy food! It's definitely not what I expected by its name but it was awesome! Our waitress was lovely and so fun! I think her name was Kelly! Awesome lady! It was exactly what I needed!
google avatar

Michael V.

Yelp
The service is amazing! The ambiance is perfect. Love the Korean TV programs and music. The food and kimchi sides are good and the selection is great! Spice lovers should rejoice because Kelly (who is the best!!) can kick up the heat upon request!!
google avatar

Amani A.

Yelp
Fantastic food and service! If you are in the Frisco area, I would highly recommend stopping here for a great meal!

Yelp
My guy Erich was in town so we wanted to round everyone up to get some grub and this place was suggested. We got a variety for our spread and everything was delicious, especially the banchan. Fried Chicken wings - We got the soy garlic and gochujang glaze and the wings were extremely crispy be juicy, cooked perfectly. Everyone enjoyed the wings Fried Drumsticks - Hot Garlic and Buffalo Very juicy i mean who doesn't order dark meat for chicken?? Bulgogi Japchae - Erich loved this so much that we ordered another one because the japchae was Seotteok kochi - crispy rice cakes with meat sausages with a glaze. This is standard korean street food and this was delicious. gochujapchae - stir fried pork belly with vegetables. it reminded me of jeyeuk bokkeum and it was solid, good crispy vegetables with fatty meat. la galbi - standard la galbi, can't go wrong with marinated short ribs The space was casual and wasn't loud where you had to yell to have a conversation. The staff was hella friendly and nice and made our dining experience wonderful. Come check out this spot for solid korean fare?
google avatar

Jesmin N.

Yelp
Enjoyed our experience! The staff was friendly and food came out really quickly. The fried chicken was crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. We got the sweet & spicy flavor, and, for me, it could have used a little more spice. The corn cheese and Tteokbokki were also delicious. The seafood pancake was good but a bit too greasy.

Megan S.

Yelp
This place is insane. So so good! Service was fantastic and we can't wait to come back. The flavors and love put into this food is out of this world! Chicken is crispy and juicy. 10/10.
google avatar

Miriam C.

Yelp
Delicious wings... servers are very kind and food overall too spicy for me.... But I'm exception... very nice place..,
google avatar

Matt K.

Yelp
Really great - the food, service, atmosphere, everything. If you're new to Korean food, don't be afraid to ask for suggestions and tips, the waitstaff is super-helpful and there's something for everyone.
google avatar

Shawn K.

Yelp
This place is the best restaurant to go if you are looking for authentic Korean food. Most if the side dishes are so good that it reminds me of the time when i was living in Korea. Fried chicken is so crispy and tasty. Try the soy garlic and its spicy version. Overall pricing is good too. I feel like you get more than what you are paying
google avatar

Jennifer C.

Yelp
We were very satisfied with our dinner, which included hot stone bibimbap, baby back rib BBQ, samgyetang, tofu soup, and drumsticks. The quality and taste were excellent. The service was outstanding--Ms. Mira was an exceptional server, ensuring that every customer had a wonderful dining experience and left wanting to return often.
google avatar

Priyanshu S.

Yelp
Come here on those rainy days. Amazing soups and will really fill you with a hearty meal. The side dishes are plentiful and give you a variety of tastes as you eat your main dish. This was just as good as the food I had in Seoul!

Jean K.

Yelp
Both food and service was outstanding! It's great to have k chicken place in the neighborhood nearby.
