The Best Restaurants in Frisco, Texas | Eater Dallas

"This Korean spot makes chicken the main feature on its menu, including excellent Korean fried chicken and hot pot. For a special treat, order bansang, which finds each dish presented for individual service rather than family-style." - Eater Staff

I was craving some chimaek and decided to try Chicken Barn since it’s conveniently located near my home. We ordered the soy sauce and sweet & spicy fried wings, along with the Chuncheon dakgalbi, and wrapped up the meal with fried rice. The atmosphere was pleasant and welcoming, and the service was excellent, friendly and attentive throughout our visit. The food was flavorful, though it leans a bit on the sweeter side. The banchan was well-prepared, and a great complement to the main dishes. Overall, a great experience. I’m looking forward to coming back and exploring more of their menu

We stopped by for lunch and ended up having one of the BEST meals we’ve had in a long time! I got the soy garlic wings and my friend got the soy garlic drumsticks—both were insanely crispy and packed with flavor. We also tried the TTEOK-KKOCHI, and wow… everything was absolutely delicious. Funny enough, we had originally planned to eat at the ramen place next door, but no one greeted us or acknowledged us, so we left. Best decision ever! As soon as we walked into this spot, we were greeted like VIPs. The service was fast, friendly, and perfect for our lunch break. This place just earned a spot in our weekly lunch rotation—can’t wait to come back! THANK YOU to the entire lunch time staff from yesterday, Friday June 13th!

Had dinner at Chicken Barn in Frisco yesterday, and everything was amazing! The chicken was delicious, the chogye-tang was flavorful and refreshing, and the seasoning was just right. The atmosphere was great, and all the staff were super friendly—especially the manager, Mi Ra, who was incredibly kind. At the end, we even got a complimentary black bean drink from a vending machine, which was a unique and tasty treat. Definitely planning to go back. Highly recommended!

Google
The Chicken Bar – Frisco, TX The Chicken Bar in Frisco is a spot that delivers on some Korean flavors but falls short of being a standout destination. Overall, it’s a "one and done" experience for me, earning a 7/10. If you're a local craving authentic Korean food, it might be worth a visit, but otherwise, it doesn’t quite justify a special trip. The Hits Dumplings: Perfectly executed—crispy, flavorful, and a definite highlight of the meal. Miso Soup: Fresh with great depth of flavor, a simple but well-done staple. Cucumber Salad & Kimchi: The cucumber salad was refreshing, and the kimchi had just the right balance of spice and fermentation. The Misses Bulgogi: Just average—lacking the depth of flavor that makes this dish shine. Chicken Wings: While they had a beautifully golden, crispy, flaky coating, they were underwhelming in the flavor department. A stronger seasoning, and more generous amount sauce could have taken them up a notch. Food Temperature: Unfortunately, this was a consistent issue. While the flavors were decent, the food didn’t arrive at an optimal temperature, which took away from the overall experience..

Overall, my family and I had a pleasant dining experience. The waitresses were attentive, friendly, and polite. Upon entering to being seated, and even until the end of the meal, they never failed to greet us with a warm smile. The food itself was good, complimented by plenty of banchans/side dishes (with refills graciously offered). The ribs were more than decent; with an excellently charred flavor and exterior, alongside a sticky glaze. However, the only critique was that meat itself was mainly dry, but it could be attributed to the larger portion of meat on the bone, so no complaints about the amount of protein. Regardless, there were still some tender portions with a small amount of fat that helped balance out some of the dryness. I hope to try other dishes during our next visit with the pleasure of being served by such welcoming staff.

Google
Best French fries with truffle flavor. The wings are better than BBQ Chicken Wings. Juicy, and the batter is light and very crispy. My favorite is the Bibimbap. They put all the classic veggies for Bibimbap with a perfect sunny side up fried egg on top. Plus, the crispy rice crust at the bottom that is perfectly prepared with this hot stone. The service is fast and professional. I will go back again.

Google
Great restaurant! Very satisfied with all the dishes. We got their LA Galbi, Baby Back Rib BBQ, Lemon Pepper Chicken Wings, and Fries. The LA Galbi was well seared, flavorful and tender. The wings and fries were crispy, delicious and not overly salty for my taste. We also enjoyed the broccoli, fish cake, and mash sides. The weakest item was the Baby Back Ribs. The flavor was excellent, an interesting Korean take on ribs. However, they just weren't as tender as great baby back ribs ought to be. The atmosphere was lively and the service was fine.

*A Hidden Gem in Frisco!* We are *so* thrilled to have found Chicken Barn — it’s hands down one of the best Korean restaurants in Frisco! Every visit has been a fantastic experience, and it’s become one of our go-to spots for both incredible food and warm hospitality. The **Korean fried chicken drumsticks** are next-level — perfectly crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside, and packed with flavor. I also tried the **seafood tofu soup**, which was comforting, rich, and loaded with fresh seafood. The **beef bulgogi with glass noodles** was another highlight — sweet, savory, and incredibly satisfying. Their **banchan (side dishes)** are always fresh, flavorful, and a great complement to the mains. You can really taste the care and authenticity in everything they serve. But what truly sets Chicken Barn apart is the people. The **owner** is so kind and welcoming, and **Kelly**, our server, always makes us feel like family. Their warmth and hospitality are just as memorable as the food. If you’re looking for amazing Korean cuisine and genuine, heartfelt service, Chicken Barn is the place. We keep coming back with our family — and we’ll be back again very soon!

Yelp
Best Korean fried chicken! Crispy, savory and sweet! Complete treat! The fried chicken- amazing, the short ribs- wow! Juicy, and seasoned to absolute perfection, each bite of their chicken feels like a celebration of every piece is fried to golden excellence without ever feeling greasy. Tender, smoky, and marinated in a rich, savory-sweet glaze that hits every taste note just right, these ribs practically melt in your mouth. To top it all off, the service here is phenomenal. Friendly, attentive staff who treat you like family, with every detail taken care of...You can feel the pride they take in their food and hospitality. Whether you're coming for a casual meal or a special night out, this spot hits every mark, amazing food, top-tier short ribs, and warm, excellent service. An absolute must-visit.

Yelp
I really liked the decor of this place! Definitely gave rustic bar which was pretty cool. The fried chicken was great, fried perfectly and the sauces were tasty too. The other dishes, however, were pretty mid. tofu soup: 3/5 Kind of bland, but the side dishes were good pork ribs: 1/5 Extremely dry and flavorless sweet potato fries: 2/5 My mom had gotten them before and said they were soggy, so we asked for them to make them extra crispy this time. They were still really soft so tteok: 4/5 Hard to go wrong with this dish! Would definitely come back for the chicken, but everything else I would pass.

Yelp
The service is Always Top notch, food is great, and the kiddos love it In this visit I had the Kimchi Jjigae, spicy Hotpot of pure vegan delight, and the side were great, the wife had the pork bulgogi, and brat some potsticker, the tween some beef bulgogi All very yummy at a great price.

Yelp
Have only had the samgyetang here and would come for it again! They give a huge variety of side disbes which I always enjoy. I know a lot of people come here for the fried chicken so maybe that's a good option too. Taking a star away because last time I went, the employees were all over the place which resulted is poor service.
google avatar

Yelp
The service is amazing! The ambiance is perfect. Love the Korean TV programs and music. The food and kimchi sides are good and the selection is great! Spice lovers should rejoice because they can kick up the heat upon request!!

Yelp
Really solid Korean restaurant in Frisco! They have a wide variety of dishes including soups, meats, and fried chicken. What I appreciate is that they offer hearty Korean soups that you don't see too much outside of Koreatown. Have had the galbitang (short rib soup), sam gye tang (ginseng chicken), and sundubu (tofu soup). They were all really tasty especially on a cold day. The chicken was a little dry but was interesting how it was stuffed with rice. The banchan is really good! The potato salad is addicting and everything tastes really fresh. I like the fried tofu, fried fish cakes, and kimchi. The fried chicken is also really good and very crunchy. Definitely adding it to the rotation to satisfy any sort of Korean food craving.

Yelp
Lovely Korean spot here in Frisco! We've been for lunch and dinner now, and we love it! The service is always great--the servers are so kind and attentive! They constantly refill and make sure you're good! Food is also delicious! When we came for lunch, we really enjoyed our sides! I loved my hot stone bibimbap--it was plentiful of ingredients! As for dinner, fries and chicken were cooked to perfection! Recommend this spot if you're craving Korean food in Frisco!

Yelp
6 piece wings: lemon pepper & soy garlic. Right amount of batter & sauce & its crispy, not crunchy. Dak guksu: comforting & flavorful chicken noodle soup with lots of veg. Egg cooked right. Dak jook: chicken congee; another comforting dish, just needed a bit more salt. Jap chae is quite filling. Refillable banchan. The salad dressing is yuzu with some wasabi. I was not expecting that so when I took a big bite, I got a big sinus opener lol. Each time service is always friendly & attentive.

Yelp
Just came back from Korea so this was a welcome repeat of some of my food experiences there. The fried chicken was very good - nice fry, big pieces, and not overly sauced. We enjoyed the garlic soy. We also tried the bulgogi and equally it had great flavor. They will give you seconds and thirds on the accompaniments, which include some kimchi, broccoli, potato salad, and fish cakes. All very good. I think overall we'd opt for the fried chicken and get a variety of sauces. Solid place for Korean popular dishes.

Yelp
WOW! Crazy good food, amazing service, and great ambiance... Found Chicken Barn during a trip from FW to Nebraska Furniture, and was I so glad I searched it out! Its on the side of the strip center, so keep looking, even in the slam packed parking lot! Lets start with they have some of the VERY best Kimchee I have EVER had in my life...and I not only love Kimchee but judge a Korean restaurant by the Kimchee. My waitress said they make it in house, and frankly I will drive from FW to have it again. Korean fried chicken - amazing. Fried dumplings - also amazing. I plan on being back at Nebraska Furniture next weekend and you can bet I will be at Chicken Barn after shopping. But this time exploring the more traditional Korean dishes...cant wait! OH - and dont miss wandering the market in the strip center...beyond cool!
google avatar

Brenda K.

Yelp
We came here for dinner and the ambiance is great! The service is just mediocre and the food was ok but on the expensive side for the amount that you get! When we asked for more ban chans, the waiter said that's all we get, I thought ban chans are usually unlimited! We had quite a few dishes, the one that I really liked the most was the chicken wings, maybe that's why it's called Chicken Barn!
google avatar

Alex A.

Yelp
Decided to try this out because of the reviews and we were wanting chicken. So glad we did. Super cute place. The people were super nice. We got the sweet and spicy tenders, seafood pancakes and bulgogi bansang. All of them were excellent!! We will definitely be back.
google avatar

Jessica M.

Yelp
I can't even say enough good things about this place. The wings were INSANE, we got buffalo and soy garlic and we were so wow'ed. The pork bulgogi was delicious, this was my brother's first time eating it and he absolutely loved it. I will say our bill was a little high but well worth the money! Service was great, they were constantly checking in on us. Come hungry, the portions are big and we had plenty of leftovers.
google avatar

Yelp
Really like this place! Was expecting just a normal Korean fried chicken place but this exceeded my expectations!! It's a nice and new interior that was clean. Service was fantastic! Super friendly staff and great with kids! Food was very authentic. Lots of variety on the menu. + Soy garlic drumsticks were great + Seafood pancakes were nom + Ribs were tender and flavorful + Corn cheese and fries were tasty = Bulgogi soup was a bit sweet Overall will definitely be back to try out more of the menu!! Probably our favorite Korean joint in this area!

Yelp
We found the new korean restaurant near our house. Delicious food. LA Galbi is the best. Staffs are really nice. Clean and good design.

Megan S.

Yelp
This place is insane. So so good! Service was fantastic and we can't wait to come back. The flavors and love put into this food is out of this world! Chicken is crispy and juicy. 10/10.

Yelp
This was my first time visiting Chicken Barn and I have to say it was really good!! Ambiance: There is louder music playing and bright lights. There is all kinds of seating from booths to table and chairs. The service is decent they are friendly and try their best to be accommodating. Chicken Soup: The soup was really good. It was flavorful and a pretty clean broth. You add your own salt and it is really tasty with the chicken thats boiled into the soup. There is no strong taste so it kinda reminds me of a tame version of chicken soup. Korean Sweet Spicy wings: I excepted these to be spicy but actually they were more sweet than anything and had a nice crisp to it. All the wings were a good size and had such a nice crunch to it. The flavor was just so different and special that I really loved it!
google avatar

Samantha C.

Yelp
Ambiance: casual, rustic feel, sit down restaurant Service: FRIENDLY!! Our server was so sweet and very attentive! Food: JUICIEST FRIED CHICKEN! I love dark meat, so I ordered the classic bone-in fried chicken, and it was so good!
google avatar

Andy P.

Yelp
I think bbq chicken is much better... the chicken doesn't hold as well to go... flavors were just ok. Also ordered the truffle fries and wasn't impressed either. Overall not bad... definitely not great
google avatar

Leonard L.

Yelp
My wife & I came here for dinner. The servers were nice. The food tasted good. The atmosphere was okay. They replace Mad for Chicken.
google avatar

Miriam C.

Yelp
Delicious wings... servers are very kind and food overall too spicy for me.... But I'm exception... very nice place..,
google avatar

Aqsa T.

Yelp
Great food and great service! I was so happy to find somewhere close to my house. My niece (who is rather picky with her food) said it was the best Korean fried chicken she has had. I had some sort of spicy chicken soup because I was under the weather and it definitely hit the spot. When we were there it was rather slow; I recommend giving them a visit. They deserve more customers!
google avatar

Kimberly G.

Yelp
At first we thought this was solely a KFC joint, but it has a pretty extensive menu of Korean dishes as well. Our meal came out quickly and was delicious. The banchan was fresh; potato salad was a hit. The customer service was top notch: friendly and very attentive. I'm glad we stumbled a cross this place.
google avatar

Jec M.

Yelp
Absolutely fantastic! All 3 of us were blown away by our yummy food! It's definitely not what I expected by its name but it was awesome! Our waitress was lovely and so fun! I think her name was Kelly! Awesome lady! It was exactly what I needed!
google avatar

Jerry Y.

Yelp
Awesome spot in Frisco! It's typically hard to find a spot that can accommodate large groups with kids and all. The staff was particularly nice, situating us in the corner since we had a stroller. Also, it was a cool restaurant because it had Korean Fried Chicken but also traditional Korean dishes. Typically places are either or and not both. It had a cool sports bar vibe with TVs all around the restaurant and food came out FAST.
google avatar

Monalisa Z.

Yelp
One of the rare Korean places selling fried chicken and regular Korean dishes like bulgogi, japchae, soon tofu. Good enough if you don't wanna drive to Carrollton, being in Frisco the rent is expensive so the portions are not that big and banchan only 3-4 types (small) I honestly dunno if you can ask for more banchan when you run out of them.
google avatar

Prasath S.

Yelp
Great food here. Seafood pancake was packed with various seafood such as shrimp, baby octopus and clams and was paired with a beautiful soy based sauce. The chicken wings were incredible and reminded me of the good ol KFC days (when it used to be good). We asked for the sauce on the side so we could actually enjoy the crunch of the chicken and that was the right call imo. We finished off the meal with the LA Galbi which is stellar. All in all a very positive experience and look forward to returning to try some more of their authentic Korean dishes.

Steve S.

Yelp
Excellent food with service to match. The restaurant has six tv screens set to Korean television. Highly recommend

Yelp
Fantastic food and service! If you are in the Frisco area, I would highly recommend stopping here for a great meal!

Yelp
My guy Erich was in town so we wanted to round everyone up to get some grub and this place was suggested. We got a variety for our spread and everything was delicious, especially the banchan. Fried Chicken wings - We got the soy garlic and gochujang glaze and the wings were extremely crispy be juicy, cooked perfectly. Everyone enjoyed the wings Fried Drumsticks - Hot Garlic and Buffalo Very juicy i mean who doesn't order dark meat for chicken?? Bulgogi Japchae - Erich loved this so much that we ordered another one because the japchae was Seotteok kochi - crispy rice cakes with meat sausages with a glaze. This is standard korean street food and this was delicious. gochujapchae - stir fried pork belly with vegetables. it reminded me of jeyeuk bokkeum and it was solid, good crispy vegetables with fatty meat. la galbi - standard la galbi, can't go wrong with marinated short ribs The space was casual and wasn't loud where you had to yell to have a conversation. The staff was hella friendly and nice and made our dining experience wonderful. Come check out this spot for solid korean fare?
google avatar

Jesmin N.

Yelp
Enjoyed our experience! The staff was friendly and food came out really quickly. The fried chicken was crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. We got the sweet & spicy flavor, and, for me, it could have used a little more spice. The corn cheese and Tteokbokki were also delicious. The seafood pancake was good but a bit too greasy.

Olajumoke A.

Yelp
Silly. The restaurant closes 9PM not 10PM. Wasted my time driving for 35 mins. Very inconsiderate.
google avatar

Matt K.

Yelp
Really great - the food, service, atmosphere, everything. If you're new to Korean food, don't be afraid to ask for suggestions and tips, the waitstaff is super-helpful and there's something for everyone.
google avatar

Stephen B.

Yelp
We had a wonderful experience! The combination of great food, outstanding service, and a nice atmosphere makes for a memorable visit. Please try the corn cheese - it really hit the spot! I definitely recommend!
google avatar

Jennifer C.

Yelp
We were very satisfied with our dinner, which included hot stone bibimbap, baby back rib BBQ, samgyetang, tofu soup, and drumsticks. The quality and taste were excellent. The service was outstanding--Ms. Mira was an exceptional server, ensuring that every customer had a wonderful dining experience and left wanting to return often.
google avatar

Shawn K.

Yelp
This place is the best restaurant to go if you are looking for authentic Korean food. Most if the side dishes are so good that it reminds me of the time when i was living in Korea. Fried chicken is so crispy and tasty. Try the soy garlic and its spicy version. Overall pricing is good too. I feel like you get more than what you are paying
google avatar

Derrick B.

Yelp
Very delicious chicken. Fried to perfection and super crispy and juicy! Take your pick from a long list of flavors and sauces.
google avatar

Elisa B.

Yelp
Went with my husband to try, and we were surprised by how amazing our experience was! Staff was so incredibly nice and helpful! The food was phenomenal! We ordered tteokbokki, truffle fries, and the bulgogi japchae bap!! So delicious!! I believe the kimchi was of their own recipe as well, and I had to order extra on the side - best I've ever had!! 10/10 recommend
google avatar

Kiko M.

Yelp
Dak Bokkeun Tang (ABSOLUTE MUST) If you're looking for something that reflects cooking that your mom made when you were a kid. This place definitely had that special touch for its broth seasoning. really admired the detail of giving a small trash to dispose all the bones. Tear up that chicken off the bone, mix it well in the broth with the potato's and rice. I wish I had a picture but once I took a spoonful I just couldn't stop. The interior is pretty cold which is a relief in this Texas heat. But after 10-15min you might get a little chilly.
google avatar

Elizabeth S.

Yelp
We got the Samgyetang (Ginseng Chicken) & Dakbokkeumtang (Braised Spicy Chicken) + wings & drumsticks - everything so was good, my favorites were the stews! The SGT was so simple but delicious & perfect for when you're feeling under the weather. The DBT was my overall fav - super flavorful & the potatoes/carrots with the broth was so good with rice. It was a bit busy for a Thursday night but the servers were attentive to all tables & so so sweet. Food was delicious & overall the atmosphere was good as well. Def will be returning again!!
google avatar

Daniel C.

Yelp
Truffle fries! A must get. Our kids absolutely loved the ginseng chicken soup. You can tell that the ingredients were good because you can feel the goodness of the broth. Also, the presentation of their dishes was on point. You don't see that with a lot of the other restaurants near by. So happy this place opened near our house. Will be going there often!
google avatar

Chyna C.

Yelp
Amazing! The staff was great and the food was on point! We had a great time. 10/10 and the portion was perfect for the price points. We had the best night!!!!
google avatar

Brittany C.

Yelp
My roommate and I were craving good Korean food and this place did not disappoint. You can tell a Korean spot is good when most people in it are Korean. I spent time in Korea during college and this tasted the closest to authentic that I've had so far. The sweet and spicy chicken was perfect - juicy and full of flavor. I got the japchae bulgogi and it was perfectly seasoned and my roommate got the beef bulgogi. I'm telling you... the banchan was amazing. All of it was amazing. The service was excellent and overall it's such a cute spot. Try it for yourself! P.S. the only negative review on here is most likely a competitor, so don't let that sway you. This place is great.
google avatar

Nina K.

Yelp
This place is amazing!! Everything I've tried here from the specialty dishes to the chicken wings are so delicious. The manager is the sweetest and so are all the staff members. A cozy interior and we love coming here for the wings especially! Highly recommend.

Eric F.

Yelp
We love this place! When you get there as for Mira and tell her Eric sent you! She is the most hospitable and nice person i have met. But my favorite thing of all is the chicken. Best Korean chicken in the DFW! I love the Korean sweet and spicy drumsticks the most.
google avatar

Linda L.

Yelp
Love the food and atmosphere!! It's very kid friendly! They have good selection for both adult and kids! Love the alcohol selection here and service is amazing!!
google avatar

Chase B.

Yelp
Just left and had to leave a review. Soooo yummy! Chicken was great and bulgogi was amazing! Please visit ASAP!!

Yelp
We went here after it rebranded from mad for chicken. We only get the Korean meal sets which have all been amazing. One of our go to places. Wait staff is amazing and the food is quality.
