"Torrance’s Persian restaurant Chicken Chick has a secret weapon in its hands. The overnight marinated “juicy chicken” is supposedly breast meat, but it’s possibly the most delicious white meat I’ve ever had. Gently seared, brimming with juices (as advertised), and irrationally delicious, the only thing the dish could have used was some garlickly toum (which would be more appropriate for Lebanese or Armenian kebabs) or some of the house cucumber yogurt for some other element. The rice is superb: fluffy and tender. As a longtime Glendale resident and newer South Bay denizen, I now have a go-to kebabs spot." - Eater Staff

Delicious food. Not greasy. Full of flavor, but not salty. They were previously by El Camino College. Happy to see they're back, now in a different locations. My go-to for best value is an order of rice and side of chicken koobideh =$12 and you will get full. Way better than fast food. Highly recommend.

Google
This restaurant has not been given the attention it deserves. I am blown away by the flavor, the tender chicken, the soft, saffron basmati rice, and their deliciously flavorful hummus. The Greek salad was amazing to say the least. It is deserving of more stars than I can give. I will be a frequent patron of this hidden gem.

Google
WARNING: Very slow and phone line is dead. Changing my review to 1 star. Their phone line I broken, always a busy signal. And whatever they quote you on time, double or triple it. Expect at least an hour before your food is ready. If you need it sooner, order someplace else. I used to love this place, but they can never have their food ready on time.

Jo Dee

Google
The food is good and it is very reasonably priced. The house doogh was too salty though, and the service was extremely slow. She may have been short staffed. But we had tickets for a musical at El Camino College..And we were constantly trying to get her attention. And were ignored forever.

Google

Google
Love this place their food is the best Persian food I have had in LA even better then big names and their service specially the amount of food they give 🫶🏻 we usually get spicy juicy chicken with rice and salad and trust me I never had to tell them to give extra rice their is always more then enough o was so sad when their done in restaurant closed now it’s pickup only but I am sure there will be dine in around soon too ! Best food on planet earth :)

Roberto De Leon

Google
It recently relocated to a ghost-kitchen facility, along with other restaurants, on Hawthorne Blvd. Food, especially their chicken koobideh, is as great as it was when it was located at its original brick-and-mortar restaurant on Crenshaw Blvd near El Camino College. Parking along Hawthorne Blvd, when ready to pick up your order, could be challenging. Watch out for any parking restrictions!

Google
Good food. I really liked the salad and each plate had a lot of rice. Place is small (not a lot of tables- 6 or 7) but the worker’s are fast.😁

Yelp
Delicious Food Served steaming hot Very authentic and their portions are amazing We will be ordering again soon!!

Yelp
Ordered by phone for takeout, which you pick up at their temporary location in Lawndale (16711 Hawthorne Blvd. - I called 424-396-3438). I ordered my usual Juicy Chicken combo with cherry rice upgrade and Persian salad substitute. It is the same great flavors as it has always been, including the broiled tomato that comes with the Juicy Chicken kabab. The pickup location is used by a lot of different restaurants, so just follow your GPS to go to that address. (There are many signs labeling that location such as "South Bay Eats," "Food Pickup," "Pineway Food," and so on - see the photos.) Street parking only. It looked a bit sketchy at first but not to worry, everything worked out fine. We entered the glass doors, went up to the window in the wall, told them about our phone-in order from Chicken Chick and we could pay right there. Food was hot and yummy as always. I'm glad they are able to continue to provide great-tasting food prior to their new permanent location.

Yelp
We got the family platter #3 plus two extra chicken skewers - WOW!! The meat?!? So tender so JUICY, I've never seen chicken fall apart tbh. SO SO GOOD. The rice is great and the charred veggies. The only thing we didn't love was the salad/salad dressing. The dressing just tasted a little odd and maybe had no salt at all but no strong flavor hence was weird lol and the actual salad was just with cheap greens that we dont like (iceburg) so it was awful, we ate a little bit i wouldn't come here for the salad. But the freaking meat?! 10/10!!! The hummus is DELICIOUS but it comes in a container half the size of the cucumber sauce which was also fire. I would order two hummus, really tasty! It's take out only - food was ready within 15 minutes. Will def be back!!

Dana W.

Yelp
Some of the juiciest and most flavorful chicken breast I've had. Love the flavor. Wish they gave you more chicken for the amount of rice, they give you tonssss of it but overall really really good.

Noelle M.

Yelp
I understand they are in a temporary spot so I cannot speak to the ambiance and service. I will say that the juicy chicken is phenomenal!

Ida K.

Yelp
Food delicious and servers are so nice (when they had dine in). Portions are great too! My entire family and extended family love eating there. Can't wait for dining to open again!

That One K.

Yelp
I would love to give 5 stars, but since the move, the food has not held up to the standards it once did, hopefully, one day they can move back into a permanent place instead of a ghost kitchen. The in-restaurant experience was awesome before and the food was unmatched.

Esther K.

Yelp
Catered from here for several of our family gatherings. We love the food, especially the juicy chicken! Appreciate that they have a delivery option at an extra charge. Good quality food that doesn't have a bunch of fillers.

Doree T.

Yelp
"Chicken Chick Mediterranean in Torrance delivers juicy, tender chicken bursting with flavor. The service is impeccable, making for a delightful dining experience." They recently moved to a new location in Hawthorne and I'm so glad that this business didn't closed due to the issue with the old building they were located before. My go to chicken kabobs place. I highly recommend it

Tony V.

Yelp
I have to say, the Mediterranean cuisine I've experienced is truly exceptional. As a vegetarian, I find myself constantly craving the delectable flavors of falafel. It's simply irresistible. And let me tell you, the lentil soup is an absolute necessity. This soup is beyond incredible, leaving me in awe with every spoonful.

HerMajesty J C.

Yelp
On my days off from my Thai restaurant lol, I love to have my fav international cuisines. Especially middle eastern. The kind of best rich tasting cuisines I grew up with as a child.. feasting. When it comes to my fav Persian cuisines, I always just come here to dine in or take out or both with my usual 2 fav childhood stews.. the koresh bandamjan and the koresh sabzi. And of course with real cherry rices. And with the persian salad on the side. All so delicious. The service here is always polite and friendly. Happy for this family to open their new location soon. But i like to keep coming to this one.

Kelsey C.

Yelp
Still the best Hummus I've ever had, and now I can add the Persian Eggplant too. Feeding multiple families is a cinch with the Combination #4 Platter. The Juicy Chicken is sooo juicy, the Beef Koobideh is perfectly seasoned, and the Chicken Koobideh is indescribably good. Chicken Shish Kebab is similar, and the flame-charred veggies are nice. Their Cherry Rice is the real MVP. They'll substitute it for the regular rice at no extra charge, and it's an ideal balance for the meat. Like everything else at this lovely local mom-and-pop, it's absolutely flawless.

Ozzy T.

Yelp
Love this place and im glad they moves not too far from their gardena location off redondo beach blvd and crenshaw.

Patricia L.

Yelp
Currently the plaza is under construction but they are still open. It's a great hole in the wall. We catered this at work and was so amazed at how good it was I decided to come back. The staff was friendly and service was awesome! They have a small indoor seating area which could be a little tight for big groups. I ordered the family platter and the portions were big, the food was delicious. Chicken Kebob - 9/10 tender, juicy Beef Koobideh - 10/10 the best! Filet Mignon Kebob - 8/10 Salmon Kebob - 7/10 a little citrusy for me Overall, highly recommend! Can't wait to go back.

MalloyNregina A.

Yelp
Food consistently hits the spot. Service - they treat you like family. Ambiance - never fails to relax your senses the delight to see the food, smell the aroma, taste every ingredient and you realize that it is a labor love in every bite. We always order the combo platter so we can have some leftover to enjoy at home. The best way to end your experience is to sip some hot tea with some rose essence. Everything is just perfect . Don't take my word for it .. Bon Appetit

Alla B.

Yelp
Disgusting customer service, horrible employees. We have been coming here for years and rarely had any issues. Today I order 2 family meals and the beef koobideh was completely RAW on the inside. She refused to refund me and insisted I take the food bad so she can replace it. I will never be coming back here again. DON'T waste your time and money on people who don't care about you as a returning customer and only care about your money.

Margaret C.

Yelp
For the older folks among us (of which I am one) ordering from ghost kitchens can be confusing. I am speaking from experience. Order online, or you can order using the tablet at the location, but if you do that you'll have to wait while your food is prepared. The public access to the location is a small waiting area with bare minimum service (you might find someone to help at the counter, but don't bet on it. Ghost kitchens are not intended to have much, if any, service.) When your order is ready, you'll receive a text message with a link and a locker number. Click the link and tap a button on the web page and your locker will open so you can retrieve your food. It's actually really easy once you know what to expect. Now, the food.... I heard about Chicken Chick from a coworker who lives near the old location, which she loved, and we decided to try the new place. I got the juicy chicken and the Persian salad. The chicken includes Persian rice and a grilled tomato. Everything was absolutely delicious and piping hot when I received it. The chicken is very tender, juicy (as advertised), and very well seasoned. For me the plate is enough for three meals (literally. I ate it for lunch two days and also dinner on the second day.) The Persian salad (which I ate for dinner the first day) is very fresh and exactly what you would expect in a Persian salad, refreshing and light. I highly recommend this place. We've already been back and next time will bring another coworker. He's Persian and really wants to try the food.

Foodie S.

Yelp
How in the world does this place have a rating over 4 stars? First time here and last time too. The worst Mediterranean/Persian food I've ever had. The chicken kebab so dry I almost choked. The beef koobideh and chicken koobideh both dry and lacked flavor. The rice, also dry. The salad, strange mix of spring mix, spinach, iceberg, tomato, cucumber, and white onions? The veggie skewers really threw me off because I've never had a anything super spicy from a Mediterranean/Persian restaurant, but they had Roma tomatoes, white onions which is normal but where still on the raw side, and what I thought was slices of green bell pepper but were actually Serrano chiles!! The eggplant dish also dry and super bitter, nothing appetizing about it. The falafel, also very dense and dry and the strange dipping sauce which is usually tahini really threw it off. I'd say the BEST thing going for them is the hummus, also the cheapest thing I ordered. Go for the hummus and nothing else! As far as service and ambiance, it's a good kitchen, take out or delivery only so if you want my opinion, it's still one star.

Linda V.

Yelp
We miss you by the college and have been praying for you. So excited to see a new address and we will check it out. You food is delicious and you are very friendly.

Ruby M.

Yelp
Delicious little family owned placed, love how fast the service is, friendly staff, and the food is just simply amazing. If you're into spicy, the spicy juicy chicken is one of their signature dishes, the sauce is added on the side to add extra kick. The hummus is a little on the salty side, but still delicious. I'm obsessed with their Persian salad.

Karmine T.

Yelp
Don't let the construction outside deter you from going here lol. Good food, reasonable price, good service. Truly a gem in South Bay. I like their juicy chicken but love the koobideh more. The lamb shank tho...juicy, saucy, and a little sweet but tangy from the tomato-based sauce....ugh, so good. Add the red hot sauce they give, and you get that kick and extra flavor boost. Many people take their food to go since the dine-in area is very small, plus that ridiculous construction outside, but it's nice to eat in every now to eat the food hot and fresh from the kitchen.

Karen S.

Yelp
I recently ordered food online from this place, and it was one of the worst experiences I've ever had. First, finding the location was very difficult--it was in a rundown building with no clear signage, and it didn't even look like a restaurant. After spending an hour driving back and forth trying to locate it, I finally learned from a rude representative that they use some confusing "locker system" for pick-ups, which was not mentioned when I placed my order. It was a disaster when I finally got my food: everything was spilled inside the bag, cold, and looked NOTHING like the images shown online. The food was poorly packed, the quality was awful, and it was cold. I ordered 2 juicy chickens with rice, I paid $38 for two orders of rice because they hardly put any chicken. I will never be ordering from this place again. Avoid at all costs! nothing resembling or tasting like Persian foods. Avoid at all costs! It is not worth your time and money to spend on their food. ________________________________________

Yelp
The place is nice. Food is great quality and delicious. The juicy chicken and chicken barg are the go to dishes I've been going for each time I visit this place. Decent ambiance and the atmosphere is great and it's clean. Should surely visit for good Persian food.

Keiko M.

Yelp
One of my favorite restaurants is back! I was so excited to eat I forgot to take a picture (I don't think anyone really wants to see a half demolished plate of food lol), but it's still the same delicious food as before at the old location. I ordered the beef koobideh and the salmon plate, which is usually way too much food for me, but since it's been so long I needed to have both of my favorites. Absolutely love the beef, and we ordered extra tomato since you can't get enough. The salmon was sooo tender, possibly my favorite preparation, and the sauce that comes with it is always spot on. Thank you for opening up again! I'm so happy to be able to have this place back, it was truly upsetting when they had to close because of that building getting condemned. Hoping for all the best in the future!

Danny K.

Yelp
Great food, small restaurant, more like family restaurant, seven tables fits 25 people. People are nice. Lot of Togo

V R.

Yelp
Absolutely fantastic food. The Juicy chicken is my favorite with the cherry rice. Always consistently delicious. My husband gets the filet mignon kabob. He likes it medium rare and it is always perfect. They have moved to a take out only while looking g for another location.

Hurry C.

Yelp
I love their food. Just recently found these notices on their window and the building wall. I hope this can be resolved soon.

DrDave N.

Yelp
Food is excellent. They do a lot of to go as well as eat in. You'll just have to ignore the outside of the building, which sadly has been under construction for years. Easy parking. If you're not sure what to get, order the Juicy Chicken, or Spicy Juicy Chicken.

Elainoir M.

Yelp
Wow! So happy we decided to try this restaurant. My husband and I are big yelpers, so our search for our home date night began with opening Yelp to try and figure out who our lucky winner was- and that's when we came across chicken chick. Their reviews were solid with claims of delicious food and memorable portions. After we chose what we wanted, we gave the restaurant a call to confirm and the lady speaking was very kind and polite- we also asked for some raw onions and butter and she happily agreed to throwing some in our take out bag. Here's the breakdown. Customer Service- Kind, Friendly, and they get the job done! Love the kindness and accuracy from the woman on the phone and the delivery man. Delivery- 5/5 GREAT! Delivered with care AND a smile. Hard to come across these days, kindness MATTERS! Food- 5/5 Chef, you did that!!! We ordered the Koobideh with Zareshk polo and my husband ordered the same but with regular basmati rice and it was AMAZING. The only thing we wished for was a bit more flavor in the meat, but it was seared and cooked perfectly! The rice was fragrant and delicious. Def recommend trying their tahdig, so crispy and the their ghemeh and ghorme sabzi was super flavorful and delicious. Their Kashke Bademjan was to met for- it was super rich, flavorful, not oily, and super tasty. Everything was freshly made, delivered hot, and so satisfying. Def try this place out and it'll be instantly one of your favorites just as it is now one of ours! Thank you Chicken and Chick!

Chris B.

Yelp
Persian food is one of my favorite cuisines and while visiting some family for the weekend, I had the sudden urge for some Persian food. Chicken Chick came through to satisfy my cravings! I ordered the Koobideh Combo Plate and Persian Eggplan (Kashke Bademjan). I also had to get a taste of their Ghormeh Sabzi since that is also one of my favorite dish so I got a small side of that delicious green stew. The beef and chicken koobideh were very tasty and juicy. The Persian Eggplant was very light and smooth; it wasn't swimming in olive oil (although I do love it when it is). And the Ghormeh Sabzi was as delicious as any place I've had it before...a behemoth of a meal thanks to my over-order but the food coma that entailed was all worth it.

Ana M.

Yelp
It really saddens me that your restaurant has been closed due to construction chaos. I hope they open soon. We miss your delicious food.

Amir K.

Yelp
Best Persian food in Los Angeles! My wife heard about this place from her Persian coworker and we have been going there for about 2 years. We don't go anywhere else for Persian food.

Subhodeep B.

Yelp
Famous for there juicy chicken! It's Persian style- so don't complain if the rice is dry. It's the chicken and the meat which is supposed to be juicy and it is no doubt! Service is good. Not a fine dine place. Quality authentic budget food. Inshallah!

Gladys N.

Yelp
I absolutely love eating food from here. The combination plate is beyond delicious. Fresh made food to order. If dining in, it's not fancy, but it's definitely a place to try when craving food in the area. Service is great aswell

Nazanin M.

Yelp
Ah, it pains me to write this review, but I have to be honest. This place has left me torn between the exceptional food and the abysmal delivery service. Let's dive in, shall we? First things first, the food at this restaurant is truly divine. I mean, the flavors, the aromas--it's like a symphony in my mouth. And if there's one dish that stands out, it's their chicken and lobia polo. Believe me when I say it's one of the best meals I've ever had the pleasure of devouring. Absolute perfection. However, when it comes to their delivery service, things take a frustrating turn. Countless times, I've been charged for a meal that was mysteriously missing from my delivery. It's incredibly disheartening to pay for something you never received. To add insult to injury, on one occasion, they charged me for a tahdig they claimed they were out of, promising a refund that never materialized. Now, you might be wondering why I still bother with their delivery despite these issues. Well, the sad truth is that I live quite a distance away, and their delectable food is worth the occasional disappointment. But it's disappointing nonetheless.

Alan A.

Yelp
The juicy chicken is actually extremely Moist marinated and very juicy. I recommended a friend got here and he's been a regular for the past four years going more than twice a week sometimes everyone we share this restaurant with falls in love. We wish they would grow as the only location so far is in Torrance California. I recommend you get the cucumber, salad and baba ghanouj and hummus are great. Also, did you see chicken is a must try for first time!! . As far as the ambience, everyone that comes in seems to be well mannered crowd, but the dining area is very very small last visit I saw five Uber eats and DoorDash delivery personnel come in as I think word is getting around about to hidden the gem!

Leslie M.

Yelp
This Mediterranean restaurant has to be my favorite! I always order the Chicken Shish Kebob and the Vegetable Plate. Yes, I order 2 meals because I like to combine them, while eating part of it for lunch and save the excess for dinner. The chicken has so much flavor and super juicy! And the vegetables are delicious!! I've only ordered take-out -- even when they were at their other location, but the food never disappoints! I tried a different place recently - ordered the chicken shish kebob plate and it only came with the chicken and rice - no charbroiled tomato, onions or bell peppers! I will not go back to that other place. Chicken Chick is my go-to for Mediterranean food. They are the best!!!

Don A.

Yelp
Best local delivery for Persian food in the South Bay. Love the ground chicken kabob and the eggplant dish!

Will K.

Yelp
Hold on grab the wall juicy char-grilled chicken, whole tomato and garlic sauce for dipping upgrade to the Lubia Polo long grain basmati rice bursting with flavor with green beans and bits of meat, highly recommended good people serving up delicious fresh food made to order, perfect for pickup/takeout lucky to have this spot close by here in Gardena

Natasha K.

Yelp
If Chicken Chick had a subscription service, our family would be members. We order every week. We usually order the combination #3 platter. And we've never had issues with our order. The veggie Persian eggplant dish and saffron rose ice cream are amazing.

Chris I.

Yelp
The food was great! But never go with 6 or more to dine in!! Never ever!! My daughter recommended this place and we all went to dine in. Nice little place. Nice friendly people. Recommend what to eat (first time there) BUT!!! After we finished eating we got a bill. They charged up 18% for the service fee. So I figured the tip was included. I think it was little over $18 because it was over $100 just for food. So I told my wife that they already included tip because six people. Usually 8 or 10 plus people. Then usually they will charge group fees or service fees. The lady said we have to give tips. That 18% service fee is not the tip. It seems like they are double dipping on groups of six or more. And service fee is usually tip I thought. But not to them. We had to pay for tip plus service fee!! Never go with groups of 6 or more. And you have to tip on top of the service fees!!!

Aimee A.

Yelp
Looking for more protein options? I always am. Chicken Chick has excellent options, fresh ingredients, and they are pretty fast! Dine-in or takeout offered. The Juicy Chicken (here), their signature dish, does not disappoint! Enjoy and support your local businesses!

Andrew M.

Yelp
Great, delicious food. Good size serving. Up until the closure we ordered from them about twice a month. I was happy to see they re-opened, although disappointed they dropped Tahdig w/Ghormeh Sabzi from the menu. That was an item not every other Mediterranean type restaurant offers so we ordered it every time from them. Hope they reconsider adding it back.

Francisco D.

Yelp
Wow! Just recently tried this place and ordered the spicy chicken! Not only did the name live up to the expectation, it left me wanting more! I tried the spicy chicken and the taste is a 10/10. It was juicy and just the right amount of spice. Overall the food was amazing and definitely recommend it if you're in the area! Will be coming back for sure!

Ticha B.

Yelp
Delicious! Persian food here is super good in my books. Authentic and fresh. It's not an over the wall stylish restaurant but you're in it for the food! I have never dined in the the food here is delicious. Peeking in, the restaurant inside does look nice, friggin Rona killed the dining in! I'm a personal liker if Koobedeh meats, the ground beef or chicken and Chicken Chick has some of the freshest and moist protein out there. I'm saying moist just because you don't want to order your plate with hard and dry protein. I had the combination Koobedeh plate with the Cherry rice. I missed out on the hummus and bread but the food was plentiful. Two hard strips of chicken and beef Koobedeh over a large portion of Cherry rice! Yummy! My friends got the chicken which I tried and was impressed with the moist cubes of chicken. Definitely will be back when I'm at my brother's house in Torrance or in the area. Credit card okay, COVID19 pick up and order and there are plenty of parking spots!

Thomas H.

Yelp
I'm so happy to hear that you're open again in lawndale! We'll be sure to visit soon your food can't be beat!!

Gina T.

Yelp
Rice is always uncooked and portions are small for the price they charge. But chicken kabob tastes good .

Niles C.

Yelp
Juicy chicken. JUICY CHICKEN. That's where it's at. Truth in advertising. This is the juciest chicken kabob I have ever had. Very moist...just like Gene Simmons likes it. Saffron rice and shallot yogurt are also very nhhiiicceee. Why the one star deduction? Two issues. The juicy chicken meal portion of rice is bountiful...but the chicken portion could be a bit bigger considering the price. There inconsistency as to whether the juicy chicken meal comes with pita bread. Sometimes it does, sometimes it doesn't, sometimes they make you ask, and sometimes you get attitude for asking if you request pita upon picking up your food. Management, make a decision and be upfront about whether it comes or does not come with the meal.

Paul K.

Yelp
Tried one of the family combos and it was excellent. Koobideh kabob was juicy and well seasoned and the chicken was tender as well. Good amount of food for the money. Would definitely get again when in town
