I wanted fried tonight. Fried is good. I read the reviews and noticed that the best one was from this year. Bad ones were from years past. Now let that sink in for a moment. Most of the reviews written were from 2013 and here we are on the cusp of 2017 and Chicken Holiday is still around. OK, let's give it a shot.
The man ordered a "small" tub of fish & chips, a jumbo thing of Cole slaw, and an order of onion rings - that he offered to split. I ordered a chicken breast. The fish were rectangles of crispy goodness - ok, so it was a rectangle, could be worse. The fries were generous, fried goodness - hot, crispy, not overly salty. I could have eaten just those. Onion rings were not enough of - a little over done, but tasty. The chicken was fried to perfection. Where they lost it was that the chicken was bland. No flavor at all. I guess that's what y'all up north like, but usually you put something into the batter to give it some flavor.
Eat24 said that they would deliver in 45-60 minutes. Text message said half hour. They arrived within 20 minutes. Hot, good, yummy. Look, I don't know what their store front looks like, but deep frying anything should kill whatever you are worried about. Me, I like dives. If you are a local dive that can survive and deliver good food, you are worth my time and energy to write this review.
