Great food, fantastic customer service! Two experiences with this location and both excellent. I tried CSC for the first time in September and was greeted promptly upon arrival and with patience when I needed a few minutes to review the options and decide. My recent trip was last week and same positive experience: efficient and friendly employees (tip of the hat to Timothy and Kim)! I've purchased two different flavors of chicken salad (Fancy Nancy as part of Bacon Cheddar Melt sandwich and Olivia's Old South in to go container). Both were expertly prepared and delicious and Olivia's Old South is probably the best chicken salad I've ever tasted. Highly recommend and I will be back!

Everyone here is always so friendly, welcoming, and helpful—which feels rare these days when so many places should be leaning on AI or bots as the workers are miserable. Now, let’s talk about the food—because that chicken salad is absolute fire! 🔥 Today I ordered the Kickin Kay Lynne melt on a perfectly toasted croissant (the only way to eat a chicken sandwich, in my opinion), and holy moly… this is the BEST chicken salad I’ve ever had. On a previous visit, the cashier recommended the Dixie Chick, which also blew me away and inspired me to keep coming back. I also love that their sandwiches à la carte are under $10 and still come with a crisp dill pickle and the cutest little packaged buttercream-frosted cookie. Such a thoughtful touch and a total bargain. If you’re looking for a lunch spot with top-notch food, unbeatable customer service, and great value—you’ve found it. This place has earned a loyal customer in me!

Bacon cheddar sandwich was very good. Cooked properly, made well, served within a good time manner. Brenda was an extremely nice woman working today, despite recent work she had on her head.

This place is OUTSTANDING! I first found Chicken Salad Chick a couple of months ago and I am sooooooo glad I did! I crave the fresh and delicious chicken salads. I have tried several different scoops and I have enjoyed every combination. A must try restaurant.

The best chicken salad I've ever had!!! Im upset that the chicken porbello (I believe that's how you spell it) is off the menu now! That Was a huge upset because it was so good!!! But other than that 5 stars!

2022-07-13 this was my first visit ever to a Chicken Salad Chick. I had never even heard of them until the previous evening when I watched a food review by The Endorsement on YouTube and his score was high. I decided to give them a try. I decided to have the Fancy Nancy sandwich on croissant with a scoop of Cranberry Kelly on the side. I also got the Fully Loaded Potato Soup and a piece of Devine Chocolate Cake. My wife got the Fancy Nancy on wheat bread, not toasted with a scoop of fruity fran and a bowl of Broccoli Cheese Soup. The place is extremely clean and brand new and everyone there was very friendly. It was decorated a little frilly and I will speak of that later. 😁 Here Is my review. The Chick Fancy Nancy Sandwich Croissant Is a Would Recommend Plus. I loved the apples and grapes in the chicken salad. The croissant was excellent and soft. I got mine with the lettuce and tomato but next time I'm going to skip those. I think it would be better with just the chicken salad. Also next time I'm going to get the toasted wheat bread. I tasted my wife sandwich and I love the bread but felt it would be better toasted. The Cranberry Kelli Scoop Is a Would Recommend. I thought this would be my favorite flavor, but I really enjoyed the Fancy Nancy a little bit better. And now we get to the loaded potato soup. It was delicious! I give it a Would Recommend Plus. And at the end I got a piece of the divine chocolate cake. I give it a Go Out And Get It Now! It is very, very rich and the chocolate flavors with the small chocolate chips are amazing. It was $2.99 and I anticipated a standard okay piece of cake for that price. Instead it felt like I had received a piece of cake from a high-end restaurant and it should cost $10. I gave my wife a piece of the cake and she ended up getting two pieces to go because they were so unbelievably good. I also was able to taste My wife's scoop of fruity. Fran and I give it a Would Recommend. And now for the mention above about how it's decorated frilly. I went to the bathroom to wash my hands and there are pictures on the wall. Each one of them says something really cute. I had my wife go in the "Chicks" room and get pictures of the different photos on her wall. I have included these in my review pictures but this was my favorite in the "Chick Magnets" room. "Gentlemen..... the porcelain pigs, rusty pails and washboard decor at your barbeque joints don't threaten our femininity. So we don't think it is too much to ask of you to say the stupid names and sit in few flowers for an hour. Thank you for understanding. It means a lot to us." I thought this was fantastic and rounded out my excellent experience here at this eatery. I will be returning and stopping at other chicken salad chick locations! And I agree it was no problem saying the names and sitting in the frilly restaurant! Here are my review terms: Yuk - Horrible Grimace - Bad Meh --Average Would Recommend - Would order again Go out and get it Now! - I go out of my way to return to order this dish.

Had heard really good things about this place. I wanted to be impressed. Finding a bone in the chicken salad was very unpleasant and mediocre at best. Broccoli slaw has too much liquid.

It was love at first sight.. My first experience was via Door Dash and I was absolutely delighted. Now, that I have had the Chicken Salad Chick experience I am in love. I have never had such a delicious, wonderful, relaxing lunch that was simple elegance.....Let me start with the wonderful young lady who welcomed us and took our order. I feel foolish for not getting her name. She was such a delight! A young person happy at work who openly admitted missing her place of employment while away at school. That was the first hint I found a gem. Everyone looked happy that was working there. I love happy I am a creature of habit so I ordered the same thing. The BBQ on a croissant and of course the grape salad. That is a catering must!!! The grape salad needs to come in XL.lol Nothing prepared me for what came next....Watermelon tea OMG!!!! I think I drank it to intoxication because I was dreaming of marrying a restaurant. I'm so in love When I came to from my dream wedding the very nice manager was asking my daughter if he could take anything away and asking how everything was? I was refilling my watermelon tea. I'm grateful my daughter handled it because I would have been like a teen girl at a One Direction concert just incoherent and giddy. I probably would've scared him. I probably would have kissed his hand. Are you starting to get it??? You are missing out!!!! Grab your chicks and di$&# and get to Chicken Salad Chick's NOW!!!!! It's all Chic and no Cow!!!!

Quick service I think I took me longer to order my food than it was to get my food. I got a turkey club sandwich it was ok I prefer my croissant toasted. Nice quiet atmosphere nice and clean too. I totally enjoyed my cookie!

The food and service are equally AMAZING! The owner even came to ask how everything was. So welcoming. I brought home leftovers for my beau but ended up eating him before he could even try it!

Me and my husband tried them today for the first time and we will definitely be coming back! I got their jalapeño holly and Mimi's mix and a strawberry lemonade to wash it down! The lemonade was nice and tart and the chicken salad itself was very fresh and the apples in Mimi's were crunchy (yum) I also ordered a side of their grape salad which was sweet, tangy and covered in just enough nuts and brown sugar! God bless the drive through worker that patiently waited for us to look at the menu lol. Can't wait to go back!

Tuesday afternoon 11/8/22 I've been curious about this restaurant and today I had a taste for chicken salad. I picked up my granddaughter and off to Chicken Salad Chick we went. When we walked in, I just noticed that it was bright and kind of a homey feeling. The lady that waited on us was very nice. I familiarize myself with the menu prior to going so I asked for a sample of the chicken salad with fruit and nuts in it. But I opted for chicken salad with onions because I am an onion lover. my chicken salad was a little dry. My granddaughter got a turkey sandwich w/macaroni and cheese as her side. She didn't like the Mac and cheese at all and that went in the trash. The sandwich was dry as they forgot to put the mayonnaise on it. She's 10 years old and rated it a 7/10. The food was just ok. With the combination of the price I'm gonna have to rate it 2 stars. For we we got I feel like it was very expensive. $26.98! Ouch 2 sandwiches, 2 drinks and one cookie. Nothing really memorable for me.

Good food, a lot of variety of chicken salad. Perfect for a hot day or when you're craving something fresh. Good and fast customer service. Bit pricey though.

Rude waitstaff! The food was not worth the $$ you pay for. The restaurant itself is pretty clean, only because it's new location. Will not be bac!

I really enjoy this chicken salad. Three things..... The price went up and very expensive $7 for a small container. This will slow down how often I visit. I like the fancy Nancy but you leave the grapes whole. Please cut up. Hard to eat whole. The crackers are dumped into a large box. The servers grab a hand full and throw into your bag. All my crackers are broken! Some mashed so bad you cannot eat. Please do a better job of taking care of the crackers.

Love this little place. Food never disappoints, as it is fresh and consistent. The staff are always pleasant and helpful. Love to eat lunch here when I'm in the area.

I've been going to this restaurant for the better part of 2 years now. For consistency, it can't be beat, and the selections are amazing! I never considered myself a big fan of chicken salad. I didn't eat it growing up, and never really made it at home. I tried this location mostly on a whim, and because it was close to my office and on the recommendation from some of my staff who thought it was good. Never in my life did I think chicken salad could be made with so many varieties! This is certainly a chicken-salad-out-of-the-box kind of restaurant. Options include scoops of chicken salad to sandwiches. There are always 2-3 soups to choose from each day, and their broccoli salad is the perfect accompaniment to any meal. For me, I love their "Cranberry Kelli," as well as a side of Baked Potato Soup! Most times, I go through the drive through. Service is always fast and very friendly. Always leave feeling appreciated for my patronage. They really have a good thing going! Check it out!!

The general feel of the place is simple and nice. It reminds me of Panera in the sense that the ordering is similar, and there's ample seating. I got the jalapeño chicken salad. There's a nice little cookie that comes with the meal. However it's almost a third of the calories of the chicken salad meal. I seem to remember a pickle. I think it's made w a yogurt base as opposed to mayo? So it's lighter and less calories? All in all a nice experience for a take-away lunch place.

So I was introduced to chicken salad chick about a year ago through one of our reps. that brings lunch at the establishment where I work. I was completely completely in love! Living in Mechanicsville, I rode by chicken salad chick pretty much every day, but after experiencing the lunch from the rep, I decided to visit the establishment myself. Everything that I have tried has been amazing. The staff has been very friendly and helpful when trying to figure out what to order. All in all, I am definitely a fan of chicken salad chick!

Every time I eat here I end up feeling horrible. I loved it when it first opened up but now I can't eat it. If I order from there because our lunch guy is going there at work, I order grilled cheese. They have good unsweetened tea.

I don't know why I don't eat here more often! I have nothing but positive stuff to say about Chicken Salad Chick. I've tried several chicken salads from their menu and all are good, but my absolute favorite is the Jalapeño Holly. On a croissant or just a scoop, OMG! The owner is always there and quick to offer advice about the menu, or answer any questions you may have. He can often be seen cleaning off tables, behind the register taking orders, or in the back fulfilling orders. If you haven't stopped by yet, you're missing out on some major deliciousness! Do yourself a favor and grab a quick scoop or sandwich. You WILL thank me.

The chicken salad was great! The pimento cheese was good. The broccoli salad was average, some of the broccoli was in massive chunks that we had to cut up and the dressing on it was a little sparse. However, it was still a good meal and enough to share easily with a few people.

This place is a hidden gem. I love chicken said but couldn't tell from the online menu if the food would be legit. Let me tell you that I was wrong. . The cashier was so nice and helped me think through the numerous options and provided me with samples to help me decide. I got the Olivia's Old South BLT with a side of cheddar broccoli soup. It was amazing. I I would definitely come back and recommend. I gave them 4 stars because the bathroom smelled awful. Easy fix

I visited last week with my girlfriend. We had a small problem with our order & it got resolved, yet the manager who helped us had a major attitude problem. Everything else was okay, but the food isn't worth the bitter attitude.

Their slogan should be modified to "Have you ever wanted to strangle a place?" The logo shows a lady from the good ole days when women were courteous, polite and poised. Yeah, not here. Tried it exactly 2 times, and both times the order taker left me steaming with their crappy attitude. This time, I wanted to try 2 different whole sandwiches, eat half here, take home the other half for later. Simply asked to eat here, and for a box and bag to go. That was waytoo hard and confused the lady, gave me a snippy attitude and so I hastily said "ok, to go" and ate from the box in the dining room, which gave me a great opportunity to write this review! Food is fresh, flavor is marginal but nothing special. Dining room is cozy enough design afa a fast food joint. Bottom line: Ain't never coming back.

We visited opening weekend. The service was great. Friendly. Easy to order. Clean( of course it was brand new) we waited maybe 5 minutes for our order. Which was impressive considering how new and busy they were. I ordered Chicken salad on a croissant( the one with grapes in it). Nice pieces of fresh chicken and not too much Mayo,which I appreciate. I love the little cookie we got with each of our meals. My daughter ordered off of the kids menu. She loved her fruit and cookie! She had a PB&J that was standard. I would and will definitely go back again! CSC is a great addition to Mechanicsville!

First off a rare 5 star for a first time visit to a restaurant. But this place has their concept down to perfection. Very clean modern take on a southern front porch I would call the decor. Very bright and energetic. A spin on soul and salad as they have a variety of chicken and eggs salads as well as pimento cheese and typical salads. I got the soup and sandwich combo with the old south chicken salad version. Delicious. For side I got the potato soup. Again perfect. And a cookie thrown in as well. Friendly staff. It is counter service to order but they bring food to your table. A Must visit for lunch!

Chicken Salad Chick has finally made their way into VA. Previously, the closest one was in Northeast TN. Not too far off 295 as we were headed to VA Beach, we stopped for a quick lunch. It was around 11:45 on a Wednesday afternoon and the place was busy, yet the inside remained clean and the food was ready quickly. I opted for a chicken salad trio--Scoop of Fancy Nancy, broccoli salad, and a cookie (served with crackers and a pickle spear). My husband order a trio as well getting the chicken salad blt with mac and cheese and a cookie. We both enjoyed our scoop/sandwich, but the broccoli salad blew the mac and cheese out of the water. I keep saying I want to try some of the other flavors, but it's hard to not get the Fancy Nancy.

We got a chance today to try the newish location of Chicken Salad Chick in Mechanicsville today. Inside, the dining room is very cute. They had a lot of staff working and made our to-go order very fast. All the food was yummy. The hardest part is picking your chicken salad flavor. So many choices! They have a little bit of outside dining in the front. Clean and working like clockwork. I got the Dixie Chick salad on white with loaded baked potato soup. Hubby got Carol's chicken salad BLT croissant with Mac and cheese. The Mac and cheese was definitely homemade! Son, who does not like mayonnaise, got Turkey Pesto sandwich with tomato bisque. I also got a scoop of the Lemon Basil chicken salad to try. They give you a cute little iced shortbread cookie in every box, with a pickle as well. Packaged well to go, everything safely travelled home. For COVID, Staff was wearing masks and a table has been set in front of the ordering counter to create space between you and them. A manager was seen inside and out wiping down tables. I watched as he asked a customer without a mask who tried to enter to go get one and then told him how to order from online when he did not have one. He was very polite about it but firm. Good for them, keeping the rest of us safe! I look forward to future trips to try other salad flavors! My friend recommended the Sassy Scotty, so that is next for me. I highly recommend you visit for dine in, dine out on the patio area or take it to go with curbside pickup, even. I hope they expand that patio area a little more with tables on both sides and some covering for shade.

Mechanicsville location is always clean, busy, & great food! The staff is friendly, considerate & conscientious.

A comfortable place to meet up with coworkers for lunch. Everyone found something to try on the menu. My attention was drawn to the Jalepeno salad, 'cause me do's likes some heat! Wish I asked for some pickled jalepenos on the side, then my day would be complete. Yum

Finally got to try this place out today and I was very pleased! The staff is friendly, the restaurant is very clean and cute and my to-go order came out quickly. I thoroughly enjoyed my meal and am already planning what I'll get on my next visit which will be soon!!

Went to their sneak peek yesterday before they open to the public tomorrow and had a great experience! Everyone was super friendly and definitely there to help guide us through the ordering process. They obviously have a ton of different types of chicken salad and there's something for everyone. We tried the Fancy Nancy, Classic Carol and the Sassy Scotty but the Fancy Nancy was definitely my favorite! It had crisp apples and grapes with delicate pecans scattered throughout. I'm usually very picky about my chicken salad because I hate when the chicken is gristly but I can absolutely say that there were no gristly parts of chicken in any of these chicken salads! Hallelujah, I was very happy about that! The added buttercream cookie and dill pickle on the side, that's included in every meal, was a pleasant surprise too! Overall, it was a fantastic experience from the food to the service and I think they'll definitely do well in this new location.

If there were more stars to give, I would. My boyfriend ordered a few things from here to try them out. When he arrived home, he noticed that two of his sandwiches weren't in his bag. He called back to the restaurant and spoke with the owner Tim. Tim took full responsibility and apologized. He truly made it right by hand delivering it to my boyfriends home. Now that's amazing service! It was quite refreshing that this was the outcome. We will be customers forever. Oh and everything we had was amazing! From the grape salad to classic carol on croissant. Thank you Tim!!

This is my new favorite place. Genius concept and execution. I love everything ab Chix salad chick. Make a loyalty program or send coupons to loyal customers. I plan to come here every time im in mechanicsville. Please expand to Charlottesville or Harrisonburg--huge market for yall there

First of all, please take all my money! Passed them today and thought I would give them a try! It was the best decision yet! I bought the chicken salad BTL w Olivia old south! It was really good! I also lived the broccoli salad! Oh I'm coming back for more!

This place is perfect in every way. From the owners, to the employees to everything on the menu!!!!!! I love going there!!! I hope this place never goes out of business.....healthy chicken salad and the soups are amazing. You must go!!!!

I ordered the original chicken salad lunch with potatoe soup. Both very good. But my complaint is with their dessert. I ordered the Pina Cola Cheesecake. Sounds good right? Well it was but the size slice that I got was NOT worth $2.00. I have included pics of my meal and the tiny slice of cheesecake. When I say tiny, yes I mean tiny.

The food is good but pricey, particularly for the "smaller" portions that you get for your money. I would not say it's a great value - a lunch meal for $15 just feels a little overpriced. Also, I ordered a croissant sandwich vs. just a scoop of salad with crackers. The sandwich is was falling apart and, based on the size, I don't think you really get a full scoop. I guess I would try it again if I'm in the mood for a chicken salad sandwich or if a friend really wanted to go there. It is good food.

Upon entering, I met Debby right at the door (maybe an owner?) for my very first experience with Chicken Salad Chick. She was incredibly welcoming, and spent time with me going over the entire menu. The restaurant was clean and had a nice pleasing decor. Ordered carryout which went smoothly, and my food came out quickly with a rather minimal wait time. Now for the yummy stuff...Food was GREAT! I got the Classic Carol chicken salad on wheat and my husband had the Kickin' Kay Lynne on a croissant. We both had the broccoli salad as a side. Our tummies were very happy by the end of our meal. We will definitely be back to try more of the chicken salad varieties. Many thanks to the great service!

Haven't been inside yet. Only drive thru, three times already! That should say it all...love their chicken salad! It's amazing.

We ate there on Tuesday 9-14-21 just before noon. The food was good and the atmosphere pleasant. We will return because the food is good. My only complaint was only one employee was wearing a mask, a young black girl that was very cordial and helpful. There were several older women circulating through the dining room all mask-less and one was a very close talker who hoovered over our table. Having a weakened immune system masks are important.

I had a scoop of the traditional chicken salad on lettuce and it was good but nothing exceptional. Just as the description says but I couldn't detect any hint of "secret seasoning." I had a small order of spicy pimento cheese to take home. I like spicy but this had too much jalapeno so that you couldn't tell there were pimentos in it. It may as well have been "jalapeno cheese spread." I feel it needed a better balance of jalapeno and pimentos and perhaps more "house dressing" whatever that is--it wasn't distinguishable. The cookie was good. They provided plenty of packaged crackers.

I've been waiting WEEKS for this place to open, and I was NOT disappointed! I was picking up a few orders for a picnic, but noticed when I got back to my car there were a few items missing. I work at a restaurant as a ToGo person/server, so I understand that mistakes happen, so I just went back in and expressed I had a few missing items. (I think it was the owner) Apologized several times, and also gave me a free scoop of chicken salad! The food was absolutely delicious and had such a homemade feel to it. Between the flavors (I strongly suggest the Lemon Basil), and the absolute care from the staff, I most definitely will continue to support this business!!

Delighted with the restaurant and staff. I have been inside once, for pick up and to the drive-thru twice. Each time the staff was on their A game, pleasant, efficient and genuinely welcoming. The food has been consistently good, prepared as stated and tasty. We will continue to visit as a go to lunch destination.

Love this place! A tad pricy but worth it! Try it, you will love it! You get a free delicious cookie as well!
