"Peruvian chicken isn’t too hard to come by near D.C. (especially in Maryland and Virginia) but here’s an option that caters to the late night crowd, with an emphasis on whiskey and hours that reach as late as 3 a.m. on weekends (the Navy Yard location goes till 2 a.m. weekends so keep that in mind if a Nats game keeps you in the neighborhood on the later side)." - Missy Frederick
"Open up the massive refrigerator door at Logan Circle’s iconic Peruvian spot to encounter a speakeasy stocked with a wall of brown liquors and vinyls. Charles “Chuck” Koch — also known as DJ Dirty Hands — heads the music program at this converted row house, which was one of the first places in the city to mix vinyl with food since 2017. Guests are encouraged to leaf through the list (“sometimes they go missing and sometimes they don’t,” says SRG restaurant Group’s Desmond Reilly). The team also brings in a rotating crop of DJs to spin at the 14th Street NW original and newer Navy Yard and Columbia, Maryland locales. “People can just pick up a record and suggest it to the DJ but mostly, they sort of let the DJs do their thing,” he says." - Claudia Rosenbaum
"This Peruvian chicken spot with ever-flowing whiskey has some “naughty but nice” cocktails and plenty of holiday cheer on display at its Navy Yard location this season. Beverages include “Santa’s Got A Brand New Bag” featuring vodka, apricot, Chancaca, ginger beer, lemon, and cherry bitters; “Red Nose District” made with Del Maguey Vida mezcal, Kahlua, cold brew, vanilla, and topped with shaved chocolate; “Frosty’s Mistress” with Jameson Black whiskey, sherry, Gala apple syrup, chai, lemon, and baked apple bitters; plus even more drinks and themed shooters. Some premium whiskeys, including Rabbit Hole ryes, are also on the holiday menu. — EV" - Vinciane Ngomsi
"Star is also behind pollo a la brasa bar Chicken and Whiskey down the street, and its newer Navy Yard sibling just unveiled its own tricked-out parklet across from Nationals Park." - Tierney Plumb
"Chicken + Whiskey tapped local interior designer Mai Miller to transform its Navy Yard locale into an over-the-top, “naughty and nice”-themed holiday pop-up across from Nats Park. Sip themed beverages all winter long, like a Jingle Juice (Avion Reposado tequila, spiced pomegranate, orange cordial, lime) and Stocking Stuffer (Martell Blue Swift Cognac, fennel honey, lemon), and Frosty’s Mistress Jameson Orange, hot apple cider, spices). They’ve also added a karaoke program to belt out classic holiday tunes with a little liquid courage." - Vinciane Ngomsi
