We've been coming here for years because it's great. Unassuming beach bar with tons of character. Outdoor seating year around under big oak trees and Spanish moss. Very casual, first come, first serve. Variety of beers and drinks with a daily limited menu that is culinary excellence. Never had anything that wasn't excellent. Everyone is friendly, live music, and super dog friendly. Not to be missed, the local hang out bar of Folly.

Google
If you want to relax and truly feel the ‘vacation vibe,’ visit Chico Feo! Staff were efficient and friendly, food was great and the drinks were cold! The live music was also a great plus! The sesame noodle special and street tacos were excellent! There is bar seating as well as several tables of varying sizes for groups/families. Chico Feo is located within walking distance to the beach as well as other local shops, yet is surrounded by trees and feels secluded. We absolutely loved Chico Feo and wished we could have visited more than once!

Google
Found this place in a search for street tacos and it was well worth the trip. Parking 🅿️ is a pain to find, so drop off your party and tell them to order you the pork tacos. It will take a few minutes to park and walk back. This place has a very beachy vibe. They do allow dogs and have a water station. You have to order at the bar, but they bring out the food.

Google
My husband and I had the best pork tacos there. There was this seltzer drink from Revelry brewery, with fruit that was amazing. I would love the recipe to that drink. I have been trying to duplicate it but I can't. Delicious!

Google
This place came highly recommended from both locals and a couple friends of mine. This meal did not disappoint! We brought our pup along and enjoyed some REALLY good, authentic food. The music playing (not live) was the perfect vibe. Bartenders were friendly and helpful. Really enjoyed our time here.

Google
The atmosphere is great, especially if the weather is nice because they have outdoor seating only. the food is also unique. but if you're not a fan of spicier foods, it may not be the place for you.

Google
Excellent atmosphere and loved this place mostly! Main area for improvement: the kitchen didn't know how to blister shishitos. They came out raw. The bartender apologized and sent them to blister. 3 tries later we finally ate mildly cooked shishitos. Here is what we were looking for attached (made these at home) as a learning lesson. Hope to be back soon and enjoy this place again. Great music and service! Loved all the dogs!

Google
Simply the best. This would be my regular locale if I lived around Folly. Everyone was so awesome and in the best mood. The music was fantastic too. You have to get a Samurai Sling (beverage). Dog friendly!

Yelp
This spot was the highlight of our visit to Folly Beach. The menu is simple and concise with specials that are updated frequently. We tried the chicken, pork, and mahi tacos. The sauce on the pork was absolutely delicious. You order at the bar and pick a seat at any open table in their outdoor dining space. The service was fast and I can't recommend this place enough.

Yelp
Chico Feo was a great beach-side bar. The vibe of the bar gives "my parents are out of town for the weekend so party at my place" and I loved it! I don't know if there was food on the menu since my brother did all the ordering. He got us a cucumber sake drink. The drink came quickly in spite of the crowds. The drink was absolutely awful tasting (I prefer sweeter drinks) and I don't remember much of the evening except for off-key belting "I'm drunk in the back of the car" to Taylor Swift while I was, in fact, drunk in the front of the car. (My brother soberly endured my singing while driving us home). I think I had a fun time at Chico Feo. My pictures seem to insinuate I did... the place is pet friendly. The staff even brought a bowl of cool water for my brother's dog.

Yelp
What I got: Original Sin Blackberry cider Thoughts: Great little place to chill out for a drink -- will order food next time.

Yelp
This funky and fun outdoor bar is a great place for a great brew and a taco or two. They are not hurting for choice when it comes to drinks and food - there's something for everyone. Food is not the best, in general, on Folly, but this place provides a few quality choices for bar food. Staff is friendly and efficient. Good service. Good food. Fun atmosphere.

Yelp
This was a fun and extremely funky little place we found in Folly Beach. It's a very old weathered shack tucked away in a grove of trees just a few steps from the beach . You go to the bar and order . They have mostly tacos and bowls etc . They list the specials behind the bar. I got CamBo that was a bowl with beef rice pickled carrots etc . Delicious! My son in law got the lettuce wraps- he loved them. My daughter got tacos which she enjoyed. So glad we decided to check this place out!

Yelp
I visited today after a long day at the beach. If you've never been here before, be warned that it is always busy. That being said, it's quite easy to get a drink. Have your ID ready and be quick. As I said they're busy and they don't have time to wait on you him and haw over the menu. The food was great! Everything on the menu looked amazing but my friend and I settled on the Num Pang sandwich and roasted green bean special to split. It was perfect for two of us pair with a couple of beers. Their samurai sling is a local's go to as they were slinging them all day. I love the atmosphere. Chico Feo is on of those places that when you think of Folly it's going to be one of the top landmarks that come to mind for its inviting feel, chill but upbeat, and all around "beach vibe". 10/10 recommend.

Yelp
We came around 7 and it was pretty busy. It was our first time so we really didn't know where to go initially to order but soon realized it was all outdoor seating and you order at the bar. It's a fun outdoor vibe although you can definitely get eaten up by mosquitoes. They have mostly canned options when it came to cocktails which is alright but I would've preferred a freshly shaken margarita out by the beach. The bartender guy was very nice and helped us as the other girl looked past us several times and kept taking other people's orders. But it wasn't too long of a wait and they give you a buzzer when your food is ready. I enjoyed my trip tip quesadilla, I do think if they cut the meat down instead of leaving it in chunks it would've been easier to eat but the flavors were there. Hubby got a pork shoulder sandwich that was very tasty. The green beans were also good, simple and tasted even better with whatever sauce they had on the counter (fish sauce or some sort) It was overall a solid experience and we try some other things next time. Very close walk to the beach as well.

Yelp
Chico Feo: The Ugly Boy in Spanish. The word is out that this is where the locals hang. I joined James & Molly for lunch on Monday and we sat outside on the deck. We had the street tacos: Mahi Mahi, pork & chicken on small corn tortillas. They were small but tasty. We also had a Vietnamese dish called Bun Cha which was crispy pork belly. The service was great and the food was good. Great location, right next to Berts on East Ashley in the heart of beautiful downtown Folly Beach.

Yelp
My favorite spot in Folly for a quick bite, a beer, and like minded free spirits. A totally outside bar that is tree shaded and has great beer selection on tap and cans/bottles. Menu offers 4 types of tacos and a few sandwiches along with some daily surprises. Bartenders are the best. We went here every day either for lunch, a quick beer or later at night to hear some music.

Yelp
Thought we had found a real gem until the next day when a credit card charge for $195.66 came through instead of what we spent ($65.66 + $13 tip). Thankfully we saved the receipt and will be able to dispute the charges.

Yelp
I love this place! The food is amazing the staff is awesome and the patio is perfect for groups. The Cuban is one of the very best in the area it's an absolute 10/10 and I also had to get both the chicken and pork tacos ... both very good. Dog friendly environment and great pricing.

John K.

Yelp
Not bad! Guy playing music was so loud you couldn't hear the person sitting across the table from you without shouting is my only complaint.
google avatar

Yelp
Chico Feo embodies all that Folly Beach stands for. This community driven, low key bohemian paradise is the perfect spot for friends, groups or just a relaxing drink with good music and great vibes. Everyone belongs here!!! Not to mention an incredible selection of local craft beers, seltzers and more. Come by, chill and maybe even make a new friend.
google avatar

Yelp
Note: Order at the bar! Really good! We're from Phoenix, so we're used to a specific type of taco (authentic Mexican, specifically Tijuana-style and Al carbon), so these aren't judged too harshly accordingly. Corn tortillas were kinda dry, but the pork, mahi, and chicken tacos were quite good! My wife favored the pork taco while I was impressed with the chicken (really yummy sauce accompanying this one). Ambiance is fun.

Yelp
Pretty cute Caribbean restaurant located at Folly beach. My friend and I decided to split the Num Pang and the Repochetta. The Repochetta was amazing. Usually it has chorizo but they were out so they made it with pork instead (the chorizo would have been 100 percent better). I really liked the amount of onions, jalapeños, and tomatoes that were put in the tortilla. The Num Pang was basically a hoagie with kimchi/smoked pork. It was very good as well. Ordering for food happens at the bar. Water is self serve. I really like how the bar and restaurant is outside (very beach vibe).

Yelp
I love love love this place! From the service down to the atmosphere down to the food! All of it is fantastic. It's a funky outdoor cafe right a street off of the beach on Folly. Bar seating and wooden tables. You order at the bar, they give you a number to take to your table (if not seated at the bar) and then they bring your food over to you. The food is always fantastic and I really don't think you can go wrong with a single menu item. They offer a range of tacos to sandwiches, and then have 3-4 items on the specials board. My go to is the bulgogi burrito which I order every chance I get when it's on the specials board. So, so good! Only thing to note - I've seen them sell out of the specials every time I've been there, so if you're eyeing something - order it before it's gone!

Yelp
What a great place to hang out when visiting folly beach. They have live music and friendly staff who clearly enjoy working at Chico Feo! We got the ramen and fried rice. The flavor was good in the ramen but unfortunately the dish came out lukewarm. The fried rice was good but pretty oily so it kind of hurt my stomach after a while. The food was good but with minion adjustments could be amazing. We will go back and give it another try. If you want to hang out and try unique dishes at Folly, then this is an excellent option.
google avatar

Seyla T.

Yelp
Great food, great workers, and fun atmosphere. I came on a Monday night to watch a close friend if mine perform. Everyone is welcoming and I LOVE how many dogs were here. It was pretty packed but that's what I expect from a popular spot like this. I got a chicken burrito and it was pretty hefty. Flavors were delicious and my pup also got lots of treats from one of the workers. Love it here!
google avatar

Brad P.

Yelp
This place is great! Good times and good vibes. Basically in the backyard of a house in Folly Beach. Good fish tacos. Great local beer selection. They make a drink called a Samurai sling there. It's cucumber saki and lemonade which is a nice combination. Very refreshing and goes down very smooth. Stronger than it seems. Get 2. Outdoor seating, live music, cool people, bring your dog.
google avatar

Jillian W.

Yelp
I love the whole Folly Lolly vibes! I have always loved their banh mi sandwich but I tried a few special items last weekend that were amazing! Love how close it is to the beach, the friendly staff, and the live music. Completely outside, close to the beach, and located by a cute, old convenience store. Wooden bar and picnic tables, order at the bar, and take your number to your seat. Always love coming here.
google avatar

Claire S.

Yelp
Some of the best food we've had in the area! The chicken and mahi tacos were outstanding, as was the beef burrito. The live music was great, and it's such a fun atmosphere to come and enjoy a few drinks. We sat at the bar and the bartender was cool and knowledgeable about the menu. This is a must try if you're in Folly Beach!
google avatar

Ava M.

Yelp
If you're in Folly Beach Chico Feo is a MUST. The backyard vibe is unmatched, and the food is crave worthy. We come back every time we're in the area and obsess over their specials and drinks. I'd even go as far to say one of my favorite restaurants of all time.
google avatar

Heather M.

Yelp
Food, drink and vibe were on point! Our bartender was so nice! Loved the outdoor area and drink selection. Bean steak burrito was delicious!
google avatar

Yelp
There is literally no better hole-in-the-wall beach food spot in Folly. If you're looking for a chill spot to grab a bite & drink - this is it. We were here 5 years ago without kids & no we made our trip back with 2 toddlers and it was just as fun. I got the quesadilla with the homemade chorizo & my husband got the mahi-mahi tacos. He got us orange pale ales & everything was delicious. We were literally in bathing suits, cover-ups & sandy flip flops. Place was packed outside (fyi its outdoors only) but there was a spot for everyone to sit. Highly recommend. 15/10. In
google avatar

Grace M.

Yelp
TACOS ARE SO GOOD! They have the best live music and the drinks are to die for! Their lemonade is delicious. I got the pork tacos and my friend got the fish and we loved them all. Great vibes. Bring bugspray!!
google avatar

Anthony B.

Yelp
Beer good, vibes great, Cuban sandwitches excellent. Tacos were alright. We eat here once in a while after the beach on the weekend and they are always busy. But definitely a great place to catch a beer and a quick bite to eat. Supposedly they have live music sometimes as well I would assume at night! Just be ware it's all outside so plan accordingly with the weather!

Fiona P.

Yelp
The chefs here do not miss a beat with flavors. Their easy going take on bar food is light and balanced. We came for lunch and came back for dinner. Everything was exceptional.
google avatar

Sharon G.

Yelp
One of the best places in Folly. I still haven't had their tacos but to have a beer with friends, it's a vibe. Always busy. Dogs welcome. Live music. Great merch. Super friendly staff. Then go across the street to Bert's market. Also a staple of folly.
google avatar

Katharine M.

Yelp
This is one of my favorite spots in Folly. It screams "beach bar." If you're not looking for it you might miss it. It's located in the backyard of a house on 2nd street. It has a very local surfer vibe to it. It's draped in tree branches and chandeliers made from various beach materials. We usually sit at the bar. The bartenders are always friendly. Be sure to try one of the local beers and sample all of the tacos!
google avatar

Bethany B.

Yelp
There are approximately a quarter million restaurants in Charleston - YET - during my 4-day trip this past weekend, I returned to Chico Feo FOUR TIMES. And, on my next Folly trip, I'll certainly return here first. Why? Quick, friendly service, a relaxed atmosphere, delicious food, fresh air, DOGS. It's the very definition of "the vibes are immaculate." What more could I ask for? I sampled the daily specials and all of the taco offerings and everything was splendid.
google avatar

Roger M.

Yelp
Bursting with flavor. This has to be my favorite food spot on Folly. And, it's as casual as they come. Don't miss the Bun Cha, which is a kind of build your own taco from Vietnam. Made of ibb lettuce leaves, vermicelli noodles, house sausage, crispy pork belly, pickled things of the day, and a dipping sauce. Every bit was heaven. The pork tacos are amazing as well The food and drink are only half of the reason to come here, although that would be enough. The back yard casual dining on long picnic tables. The opportunity to look at amazing surfer bodies (both male and female), and live music make for a perfect informal night out Stop thinking about it. Go.
google avatar

Gabrielle G.

Yelp
Wow, what a beautiful place to eat! This space reminded me of a fun backyard party that served food haha. I was told that this spot had the best tacos near the beach, so you know I'm pulling up! I ordered the veggie taco and the Cuban Rice&Beans bowl. The taco was pretty good, I loved how the crunchiness of the cabbage mixed really well with the beans in this taco. And the sauce was really good!! The rice and beans were fresh and delicious, I just think it was ALOT to eat, personally lol. I thought it was going to be a small amount, so prepare yourself! Overall definitely a perfect place to hangout and get some fresh ingredients and full flavor in your belly!
google avatar

Nicole M.

Yelp
Chico Feo is my favorite bar on Folly - such a casual, relaxed vibe - you feel like you're hanging out in a friends yard! The tacos are always my go to but the other night we tried some sandwiches and OHMYGOD - amazing. I personally loved the Num Pang - the bread was delicious and so much flavor in the sandwich! Samurai Slinger is their signature Sake drink and is always a mush with or without a meal!

keith n.

Yelp
Very friendly and relaxed environment with a laid back vibe. They let you chill and don't hound you every second to order something. I had the Sesame noodles. It's a cold dish but, surprisingly good and spicy. Would definitely order again.
google avatar

Mitchell B.

Yelp
After looking for a quality place to hang out and have some drinks and food with my wife while visiting this was the only place worth stopping into always a crowd always good drinks and food.
google avatar

Cynthia W.

Yelp
This great laid back spot has a nice open deck and a nice beer variety. Definitely get the Bun Cha - the house made sausage is PHENOMENAL. It's a healthy make-your-own lettuce wrap and the pickled veggies are not sweet which is and traditional. I'm already planning my next meal there again!
google avatar

Pat S.

Yelp
We really enjoyed our meal here. Fresh local ingredients and one of the best fish tacos that I have been served in recent time. Their blistered green beans were amazing. This is a great option if you are looking for casual dining while visiting Folly Beach. Outside dining only.

Don O.

Yelp
Food looked good in the Yelp and walked in to try. Got a table and looked at the menu. It literally had like 15 items on it, all vegetarian. When we asked if there were any other items or specials, she said they changed the menu and this was the current offering. There was nothing that looked appealing so we left. Usually I'm game but my kids could not figure out anything to eat.
google avatar

John C.

Yelp
We came here during the week and ate outside on their patio. The place looks like a little courtyard, with a little porch where they sometimes have live music acts playing. This was a great experience, with lots of gluten-free options, and got the curry tacos. The slaw is so good and the kids even ate more than they usually do. Excellent location, within walking distance of anything in the center of Folly, including the Tides Hotel. I recommend it to anyone looking for great food with a great atmosphere.
google avatar

Lauren S.

Yelp
You must go here if you're in Folly. What a unique backyard magical place to chill under the lights with your friends, especially if there's a live band. Great vibe, highly recommend.
google avatar

Sara P.

Yelp
Can't really beat the atmosphere of Chico Feo. It's everything you want out of a beach restaurant. It's lively with plenty of seating, quick service, and great concise menu. We opted for the tacos (chicken and veggie). The veggie tacos were very good but I was surprised by the lack of flavor of the chicken tacos. That being said, I would definitely return and give some other menu items a try. Gotta hit this spot if you're in Folly!

Daniel B.

Yelp
Excellent food - fun vibe, fair prices! Service was friendly too. They feature interesting specials daily in addition to beyond pedestrian tacos. Everyone in our party likes their selection - one special featuring sumptuous pork belly; everyone else had tacos and liked them all.
google avatar

Milly K.

Yelp
Hands down favorite spot on folly for making friends, good food, live music and fair-priced drinks. Not a huge drink selection, but they have beers, a few hard seltzers, and a signature sake lemonade. Gets crowded (especially when there's a band) so show up early for a seat or be prepared to stand! Tacos are phenomenal, try one of each!! Bartenders are the best here. 10/10

Paul C.

Yelp
Laid back and 100 % casual... eat, drink and groove to the music in a relaxed and chill Folly atmosphere
google avatar

Hope A.

Yelp
This one is off the beaten path just a smidge. If you look slightly outside where most of the restaurants are gathered, there it'll be. And then you turn a corner and you are basically in the seating area. Walk in, sit down, use your smart phone to get the menu, order at the bar, then wait. The food? It was good. They had lots of flavors going on. They put thought and care into their menu and food. The atmosphere? Wasn't for me. The two employees we interacted with didn't seem like they wanted to interact with us lol Rude would be a blunt way to put it. We noticed so many customers seemed to know each other and the bartenders so maybe in the off season it's more of a local spot.
google avatar

David H.

Yelp
A long time favorite at folly beach! The vibe is perfect and the ramen specials are always amazing!
google avatar

Megan B.

Yelp
We heard rave reviews about this place. You have to know what you're getting into - it has a unique charm since it is in a backyard and no frills. The food is unique, but good. I was a little disappointed due to the hype, but still tasty! The service is mostly self serve, but the bartender was very helpful! If you're in folly and want something different, try this!
google avatar

Shayla V.

Yelp
My husband and I took out toddler to Folly beach for a few hours and he ate his lunch on the beach and then we threw him in the stroller with a fan and iPad and walked over to Chico Feo for some tacos!! I had already pulled all the places within walking distance to where we had parked and the reviews seemed great! Once there, we also felt like we needed to order the Cuban (Normandy Farms french loaf slathered in mustard, layered with Ham, Swiss, and smoked pork. Finished with some Corriander Cucumber Pickles) and split that too! Along with two chicken tacos (chicken slowly simmered with lime & thyme then topped with cabbage, trini sauce and Pineapple chutney) and two pork tacos (Apple wood smoked pork topped with our house made Kim-Chi) The Cuban was huge for 10 bucks, but they could've def held onto their stale bit of potato sticks though, lol! It looked silly on the side of such a handsome sandwich! ;) The sandwich was delicious, though I personally like it less soggy and to have more of a crunch on the bread. The pork tacos were spicy and burned my sun-chapped lips but they were oh so good, and then the chicken tacos surprisingly were my favorite, I loved the spice and then the sweetness from the pineapple chutney. The meat on both just fell apart, you could tell they were simmered to perfection and made with love! They were dripping with flavor!! All in all, we'd definitely go back for the tacos! Though I'd like to try other items. They have a good size bar, awesome brew selections and then seat yourself tables. Before ordering (at the bar) make sure to check the specials behind the bar too! Menu is small, but adventurous!!
google avatar

Gisela S.

Yelp
Liked this place the food was pretty good for a bar, my tacos tasted clean and light. I would definitely go there again. The thin fries were a hit. The place had a nice ambiance and great location just down the street from the beach. Service was great, server and bartender were friendly.
