Out here working remind me of a mini nightclub came on a Tuesday night. It was empty till around 10ish. Tuesday night was karaoke night

People have fun but management is poor. A broken bottle was on dance floor and although staff were aware they didn't bother sweeping glass off dance floor. Shows they Really don't care about safety of their customers! Meanwhile, drunk girls falling all over the floor!! Who sells whole Tequila bottles and allows them to be drunk on Dance Floor!!! I'm certain somebody that got glass on their knees. Go figure, why Drunk girls be getting all raunchy falling all over the dance floor that was full of broken glass from bottle they dropped. What kind of management allows that?? I can't believe the staff members blank face expression after I pointed out the Tequilla bottle busted on the dance floor!!!! Also, this staff member/ security just sat on his stool eating Pistachios while watching the crowd. And yes, there were pistachio shells on the front entrance which quickly turns into dance floor!!! If I have one positive thing to say, it would be about one young bartender who is super polite great customer service and I think he's too good to be working there. This place has a lot of potential but they really need a step up on their management.

If you buy shots here make sure you ask for the plastic cup, they bought glass shot glasses but don’t let them fool you they hold less then the plastic ones therefore your paying more for less even tho a standard shot is 1.5 ounces they wish to only give you .8-.9and the excuse is “because it’s slow” your welcome in advance for the tip ^_^

Chido bar is a great place to have some good drinks and dance. People are pretty friendly. They have a patio out back with food and music on the weekends.2 djs Saturday and Sunday. One inside and one on the patio. They play different music. Couple tvs if you wanna catch some highlights of the games. Great spot

New to Santa Maria decided to try this. The pictures online and theme were interesting so decided to try it out. We showed and well it looked like something you see in a cheesy movie. Place is small with a bar and dance floor only. No areas to sit including at the bar. Capacity was 118, i can assure that the fact that it was standing room only anywhere that the capacity limit sign was just for show. I will give credit to the DJ and bartenders seemed nice but other than that its a an open area where people crowd in like cattle. To bad cause theme is cool, and dj does a good job but definitely not a place you can sit with friends, relax, and dance.

The staff is so nice!!! They are very welcoming, they got me and my drunk friends some water & they asked if we had a ride home! I love this place everyone should come here & the music is great!!! I recommend :)

This place is wack!! Went on a Thursday it was dead music wasn’t good and the guy checking IDs is rude. Today 05/08 Arrived at 12:15am to see if it was better on a weekend to be told they closed the doors. As we were leaving we seen he let people inside. Definitely won’t be returning here.

I don’t go out often but this is far my favorite place to party and dance in Santa Maria. I love the great service and enjoy meeting some nice people there whenever I go. :)

Just horrible if the bar tender doesn't know you they don't service you unless your a girl they also mix old tequila shots with new so watch out cuz I almost threw up other than the drinks good spot to dance but that's it

If only this place could get 0 stars... music sucks.. they let anyone and everyone in no clear dress code, and $15 at the door for the vibes not to be met um yeah no thanks. Place really went to trash after they closed the outside sections. It's Santa Maria but the expectations need to be set higher to the minimum standard... smh this ain't no nightclub lmao

Worst bar ever! Got dragged out because a security got mad I told him to do his job. The only reason why I said that was because he was already harassing me before I even walked in. I felt profiled because I was a trans man. He said by the looks of my group we were "all gay". I already didn't feel comfortable being there due to that specific employee. They serve underage minors, sell entrance tickets different price depending on who you are. Be careful! Very bad service!

Business is not LGBTQ friendly. My boyfriend and I was walking in with a group and we were holding hands and the two guys at the door said we can't have you go coming in because the to guys in the back holding hands.. and they shut the door and locked it and turn the open sign off and walked away .. so rude ... this happened at 12pm never again

The most stupidest place I have ever been. I got taken out because three bitches that I didn't know didn't want me there...make that make sense? I didn't even last there 5 mins. I was trying to get a refund and I wasn't able too cuz fat fuck was in favor of the wannabes. Never coming here again. The situation was unfair and threatening.

I was visiting my MIL over Mother's Day weekend. I wanted to take her somewhere we could listen and dance to Salsa music! We got there a bit too early. Feeling awkward.. we headed up to the bar. The DJ wasn't playing salsa music and I thought... shit! Did I just take my MIL to a club!! after a couple warm up songs, the DJ started to play Latin music... phew! I was even able to request some songs. The bartender was amazing! I'm bummed I don't remember his name. He thought it was super cool we bought our MIL for Mother's Day to dance. The whole night he was tentative to our cocktails and shots! Needless to say I plan to be back!! Thanks for a wonderful time.. til this day my husband doesn't let me forget that I took his mom to a club.

Attended the pre-grand opening of this bar and I'm so IMPRESSED! It has such a fun, modern vibe and the music was great and the drinks were so yummy! I tried a drink called the San Dia and it was made out of fresh watermelon and cucumber, no cheapy juice mix! Soo good! I even saw people ordering Hen-chatas (Hennessy and Horchata) which I've never seen in Santa Maria.. I usually only see those types of drinks in LA bars, so I was extra impressed. I can totally see this as a place I can come with my girlfriends and dance and have an amazing time! I can see this bar being packed because Santa Maria doesn't get a lot of new stuff and there are only a hand full of bars as it is. They have designated nights for house music, Latin music, etc. so I can see everyone enjoying this place

For being one of the Only places in Sm, you'd think they'd update their hours, have a website, or even have phones that work to get information on dress code, hours, etc. Got here early to get a drink and watch the game and was turned away because I had a T-shirt and a team hat. Gave it the benefit of the doubt since I'm sure they don't want "gang attire" and generalized team apparel as such. Came back at 1215 and was tuned away since they claimed to close at 1, even though yelp said 130. Poor experience first and last time visiting the establishment. Looked cool from the pic but disappointed upon arrival, twice.... at least the bouncer was cool.

Chido Bar Unprofessional made conversation with a girl that looked very young and when i asked about her age she said she was only 16 they didn't even ask her for her ID to come in. She was there with a couple friends who only one was over the age of 21 she mentioned that she has entered the bar many times before the employees never ask for her ID! This happened last night

Love love love to dance! You love to dance you are at the right place! Thursday's they have House Night, love the electronic music too! And Fridays & Saturday's they have Latin Nights OMG! They gave me dancing all night long! After the delicious Mango tequila drinks I had, I danced all night long it was so much fun! Beautiful decorated club as well, I've been to similar clubs in Los Angeles so glad don't have to drive so far anymore love it!

Very confusing. It says it's open at 2 PM but a few of us showed up at 8:45 and the doors were locked. Nobody answers the phone, and no one answered the door. But they had just posted about an event happening that night. All the locals said it's a great place but it doesn't open until at minimum after 9 PM. Next time.

Idk about this place! It wasn't very good drinks, bartender wasn't very nice when we went a few months back before covid 19 was a thing and we got on lockdown

To the point. The bartender was just plain rude. She had a horrible attitude, treating one of my friends just plain rude. My buddy was trying to buy a drink and the bartender was just being a BITCH!!!!!

We were visiting from LA and my husband was craving a good michealada. He very much enjoyed it here, they make it with soy sauce and all of the fixings. I got a virgin mangonada which I would gladly get again. Around 10:30pm the crowd came in and the DJ was playing some pretty good music. The staff was very nice and the bar/nightclub was actually pretty clean with nice decor. Definitely a place to visit if you are in town! Wish they played more hip hop though

Very pathetic attempt for a "night club" , coming from la and phx back home for the holiday , our expectations weren't that high. You expect when you go to a bar that isn't too busy, and there are 4 separate bartenders , that they serve you after you order. Not the case here, if these bartenders see someone they know and you've already placed your order you will be ignored and your order will be forgotten about and they will intentionally and continually ignore you and your order ($200 tab). Dirty, bar was filled of empty cups the entire night, this place could have major potential if management and ownership watched a few episodes of bar rescue. I will say the only rockstar who was obviously extremely noticeable was bartender JAVIE - this guy is this establishments only chance of hope for survival. Make sure you get your drinks from him, he is competent, and has the right attitude while he is the only one who noticeably multi tasks to make $. When I informed management of the mishap with other bartender, he said "id talk to him". He then called the bartender over in the extremely loud atmosphere and "talked" to him right in front of all his customers he treated unfairly (not just our party, I talked to multiple customers who experienced the same treatment of being ignored while wanting to spend $, This is why I am taking the time to write this. I sincerely hope ownership takes serious notice to save this place. Again it has amazing potential ) Manager didn't offer anything not even an apology for the filthy bar and his bartender taking our orders but serving those who ordered after us before us while forgetting about us completely. 3 hours pass by and AFTER last call the incompetent bartender approaches me and says my manager would like to buy you a shot. My response was it would've been nice and appreciated 3 hours ago when I talked to him, not after you're closed and illegally trying to serve after last call was done. And I also informed the incompetent bartender that an apology would've been nice and appreciated hours ago and not at the very end of the night. A little bit goes a very long way, I hope the owner sees this and praises JAVIE and keeps him as head bartender to train the others with attitude , productivity and how to multi task while still smiling. Hire beautiful girl bartenders if you're going to have bartenders who don't know what they're doing- at least they're much more appealing for all to look at and watch. No one wants to see four grown men circled around a register for 20 min at a time while ignoring the rest of the bar. Hire some beautiful ladies, hire competent and ADEQUATE bartenders - watch how far this place goes !!!

Great club to go and enjoy yourself Fridays and Saturdays only. they Have the best candy-shots and any other Mexican drinks. Bartender Danny it's very attentive, great personal skills, and knows how to do drinks. The best part was how friendly the staff and other people who enjoy dancing. The only downside is that there was a Thursday night we went over and they had house music which isn't my forte. But also they only except cash cover charge which makes it inconvenient for someone to go ahead and pay. Last week when we went and it smelled like piss and Fabuloso

What sort of full service bar doesn't have orange slices? I ordered an Old fashioned and the bartender made it hoping I wouldn't notice the lack of orange. I noticed. When I called him out on it, he offered to add a splash of orange juice. This place is less of a club and more of an overrated dive bar. Best thing about this place? The hot dog stand out back! Listen- if you're going to charge a cover and have a dress code (pretending to be exclusive) you should be prepared to cater to exclusive tastes. C'mon, no mezcal at a "día de los muertos" themed Mexican bar? It's all smoke and mirrors folks. Don't bother.

The new owners cleaned this place up really well. It looks really nice inside, great decor. But beware, it's tiny so it fills up fast. I like that they bring a lot of different DJs in from out of town and keep things changing often but still keeping with certain theme nights. Usually a young crowd and young but friendly bartenders, always attentive. Friendly owners as well. Love the specialty drinks, especially the one with horchata, it will change your life.

Best place in town!!! Love all the special drinks they have like the Mangoneada, HenChata and the Watermelon & Cucumber

Super FUN! I enjoyed listening to old school Hip hop and Rap plus Latin music. This is the best place to come and dance your heart out in Santa Maria. The drinks were good and the bartenders are attentive. The dance floor is small and it does get rather hot in this smaller venue. There is ample parking here on the street. The cover charge tends to be around 5 bucks. Dress in business casual attire, so as to not be turned away for your attire.

Cool club that has really good micheladas. Takes about 25 min to get a drink at the bar on a busy night. people get turned down at the door for appearing a certain way. Definitely some discrimination going on. But all good there's other spots in town that get going . Also very small nightclub, about the size of a walk in closet lol .

New to the area showed up on a friday at 9 oclock. Went inside and was asked for my ID. I showed him my ID and he said its a five dollar cover. There was literally nobody in this place and they want to charge cover. Maybe it was because I wasnt a local. But in LA nobody charges cover just when the club opens. Wish you the best you would get more customers by not charging cover. Charge it after 10 PM.

Just moved to town and was looking forward to this place. Regardless of how they portray themselves on social media (looks really fun), I had a different experience. Showed up Friday night at 11:30pm and the place was empty with about 15 people lingering around the bar standing and having drinks. No dancing but the djs music was blaring. This is at 1130pm when you expect people to be there. We said screw it let's make the best of it and enjoy, people started dancing but still not as fun as it looks on social media. Regardless though we always make the best of it so that wasn't the issue. The issue were the bartenders (a guy and a girl). Seems like you must be a local or regular to get served at this bar. We waited over 20 minutes both times to get drinks while the bartender didn't even look at us and passed us up every single time to attend people they clearly knew or were familiar with. It's like people here KNOW when you're not from the area or are new to this bar. Everyone stares, but I get it small town issues. It wasn't packed and there were many open spots at the bar but we weren't helped even as the bar tenders kept passing by us. We decided to try different areas of the bar to try to get their attention but nothing. We were able to get 2 rounds of drinks the whole night and we were there for 2 hours. (1130-130) and there was a max of 30 people there. Real bad bar tending service. Idk if they were low on staff or they need to retrain their bartenders, or whatever the issue was. The other minor issue we had was they advertise Friday night as reggaetón and hip hop, Spanish banda music is supposedly more for Saturday's but the music played that Friday night was literally a quit playlist. We didn't mind, just expected more on the reggaeton and hip hop side. I'll be returning at least one more time and seeing if my review changes at all.

This place is TERRIBLE they were cooking their food outside next to the porta pottys and every time I went to the bar I was charged a different price. They should be paying me 5 dollars to even come in there

First of all drinks are expensive. Place is the size of a small condo. Staff is very unprofessional and I've noticed them flirting with female patrons. All in all there are better bars out there then this seedy bar/club wannabe.

Love this place! Friendly atmosphere and the drinks are amazing! Only place in Santa Maria to play EDM & House. Also has latin nights which always draw in a fun crowd. They have some of the best DJs and depending on the night you might get a special guest DJ or Artist. Service is pretty fast and bartenders know their drinks. This place does get to full capacity pretty quickly so I do recommend early arrival especially when they have a guest DJ or Artist. This place is definitely not the "dive bar" type of crowd. It has a more young, upbeat and friendly atmosphere. I most definitely recommend this place for a good night out. Wether you're in town for the night or live around town and looking for a spot to dance and drink, Chido is the place to go.

This place would be good if the bartenders wouldn't be so damn full of attitude. I get it. You have people flooding you with drunk orders but you don't have to give us attitude and then go on Instagram saying how much fun you're having.(only saw that cause people I was with showed me) don't advertise you're having fun at work and be bitter. DJ was great

Went here on Wednesday night, nothing but spanish music... they played 1 1/2 English songs and changed it back to spanish. Drinks were way over priced. Bar area was filthy

Man can this Bar throw a Good Party! haha. visited this bar twice this month while visiting from LA Dj Eddie One got down on the set the night I was there, I danced the night away and sweated out all the tequila from the drinks I had lol. Second time I came to Chido, they had a conjunto playing on a tuesday!:) Overall, I will be back! Bomb drinks for so cheap! My favorite is the paloma and the chido blessing! Clean bar, cool bartenders, great decor! CAILE TO THE BAILE!!!

I enjoy coming here. the bartenders are very friendly and nice, Im visiting from out of town and i only heard good things about this place.

I was very impressed with the remodel. The place looks beautiful. It has a nice modern style which is exactly what Santa Maria needs. I don't feel the need to go to Santa Barbara or SLO to get a drink anymore. They have plenty of TVs to see any sports game that you like, and they have tons of drink specials. My favorite drink is the HenChata which is Hennessy and Horchata mix. There are local DJs who always come Thursday - Saturday night. This is definitely the new spot to be in Santa Maria!

wow good place to party. Im from LA, just moved here and this is the only place i will party at.

Slow service, VERY inexperienced bartenders (I believe partially because it's family owned, so its cheaper to hire a brother or cousin then an actual bartender who went to school), drinks are extremely watered down. Personally returned my drink to bartender because I didn't believe I should pay for a drink with hardly any liquor in it. Overall the drinks should be priced cheaper for the way they are poorly made. Entrance fee is normal, however for the drinks being so weak maybe it would make sense if entrance was free. However interior and exterior design is beautiful.

On Thursday night I went out with my boys and I went to this bar, just to have good night and drink. I walk in to the bar and the hosts we disrespectful. They were asking for passport, we all had ID and I ask them if I can see if the bar was good. We left disappointed, I don't know who hires host like that. Please get better host.

Ever since chido opened this is the only bar I go to in Santa María now a days! You won't find better drinks anywhere else in Santa María

I always have a great time when I go to this bar. The bartender Danny makes a killer margarita. The Djs play a variety of music so you'll have a good time dancing with friends.

No stars for this hole in the wall! Your drinks are weak as F@@@! One expensive as lemonade of a "margarita" u over charged us on a few drinks to top it off! When we asked bar tender to fix my drink he blew us off! Ur place does not fit the definition of CHIDO! Music was aight!

BEST Bar in Santa Maria!! They provide a variety of drink selection! ALL drinks and shots were amazing, great bartenders, great vibe and decor! Truly a hidden gem!
