This was my second visit, and both times I was warmly greeted by Birtha. She’s incredibly friendly and really adds to the welcoming atmosphere. On Monday, I tried the Birria Tacos and they were excellent—I’d definitely recommend coming on a Monday to take advantage of their deal. Today, I went with the Carnitas tacos at $1.99 each, and they were packed with flavor and super juicy. I also learned from Birtha that this is a family-owned business, which makes supporting them even better. Great food, great service, and a great vibe. I’ll definitely be back. Also the best horchata I’ve had, and it’s made daily,

The food was really really great! I ordered the birria tacos and three al pastor with a Tamarindo Jarrito. I was really impressed by the flavors… the cheese of the birria tacos was so fresh and delicious. I highly recommend trying Chido Tacos. The place is ok, but the food is just amazing 🤤🤤 I also received free tortilla chips with cheese after expressing my opinion regarding the good food and taste to the manager 😁

Google
Blah! The food was average and nothing special, and the taco was tiny. I was overall disappointed with it. I ordered one Taco Assada, and the meat was pure fat, not lean, and tried the barbacoa, and it was OK. It is nice that they have the option for you to add cilantro, onions, cucumbers, and radishes from a buffet counter with options for different salsas. My order was $14! I'll give it another try and will likely order a bowl or Torta next time, which seems to be a good order from what I've seen.

Google
Great food and great service! I got the quesabirria tacos which were delicious! I also liked how the ice from the fountain drinks were very finely crushed. It made my soda almost like a slushee! Employees were very kind. Would go back again for sure

Google
Authentic tacos! So so good! The staff is very helpful, clean, and very personable. All the food is amazing, I’ve had the ACP and a variety of tacos! They offer a little condiment bar which makes the experience even better!

Google
Chido Taco is a great spot for a casual meal! The service is fast, and the food is quite good. I do wish the serving dish for the nachos were a bit more convenient for eating, but it’s a minor issue. The salsa bar adds a fun and unique touch to the experience. Overall, it’s a great place to grab a quick bite, with plenty of vegan and vegetarian options to choose from! The veg quesadilla was terrific with lots of vegetables in it! Loads of parking and it’s a great choice for a family meal because there’s something for everyone!

Annie S.

Google
I'm genuinely mad it took me two years before I finally tried this spot... because it's SO MUCH BETTER than I thought it would be!?! I'm not sure why I just assumed it wasn't great, probably because the last taco spot there wasn't great? But this Chido Taco is super legit authentic recipes! They have Lengua tacos and Cabeza tacos and Tripe tacos... and loads of other delicious foods like ACP and Quesabirrias (ACP = Arroz Con Pollo, but you can get any meat not just chicken/pollo!) And for the vegan veggie lovers they have a delicious authentic taco with Nopales (the cactus pad that's really good for your gut!) I don't remember the last time I had such legit Mejicano gourmet food... oh yeah, it was back in California! Needless to say, I'm stoked that I finally have a go-to taco spot that actually satisfies my cravings for quality comida autentica!

Nicole T.

Google
Omg!! I cannot wait to go back for more pork belly tacos and horchata!! I could sit and eat a whole plate of just the pork belly, if they would sell it that way! It's got the best flavor and it's cooked to perfection. Caramelized and crispy on the outside, soft on the inside. And the horchata is super delicious! I could drink a gallon of it. The birria tacos were pretty good too.

Zyra B.

Yelp
I love chido taco! I'm from Arizona and crave hispanic food, this is one of the only places in NC that I like! The staff here is always very kind and attentive. Plus their Horchata is fire! Definitely recommend :)

Yelp
After a very lengthy absence, I have returned to say something about Mexican food for the third time. This is my review of Chido Taco. Food: The food itself was really good. I got a burrito with fake chicken in it. The chicken was definitely just Gardein chik'n, but I enjoyed it. The price, however. For comparison, a burrito at my favorite burrito place, Moe's, costs fourteen dollars, and it comes with free chips and salsa. A burrito from Chido is seventeen dollars, and it doesn't come with chips. Not that the price necessarily ruins the experience, but it's something to consider. Service: The service was quick, and there were no mistakes. Easy enough to accomplish. Ambiance: On the positive side, there were the paintings you would expect in a burrito place. On the negative, though, the chairs were very uncomfortable, and the tables cram your legs in. Also, there was FOX News playing. Overall: 3.7/5 or 7.4/10

Yelp
Back again and I'm still so confused. I tried it again after not going in a while earlier this week I got two grilled fish tacos with chips + queso. The fish was really good however, all the toppings were so annoyingly large, making it hard to eat. The taco practically fell apart. This taco would be better if they put a little bit more thought into maybe slicing things thinner or just being intentional about how a person will eat it. However, I went tonight for a shrimp ACP, the shrimp was gummy and tasted like it was boiled and just thrown on top with no seasoning. The whole bowl was pretty bland. I'm very happy. I got an extra side of chips and queso. Honestly, the thing that keeps me coming back is the chips because they have this special seasoning on top. That is so delicious. I've never had anywhere, but they're so skimpy with the seasoning now. Last week, I probably had two chips that had seasoning and this order. I have absolutely none. At this point, I have no reason to go back anymore so I probably won't be visiting. It's such a shame this place has so much potential but maybe they just need better management. I think this is the type of place you only really go for drinks and queso.

Yelp
Overall: A fun Mexican spot that I can see becoming a regular spot for me. Food: The burrito was packed and very filling. Tasted great and the salsa bar allowed me to try it with a variety of flavors. Service: The service here is pretty fast. Ambiance: This is a casual sit-down place. Decent amount of seating inside, but the chairs aren't the most comfortable. In a pretty busy area next to the Trader Joe, so parking might be a hassle.

Yelp
Ordered Veggie Burrito and Chicken Taco! Fresh Ingredients and Chicken is not frozen because my teenager can smell a frozen chicken from miles away .. all three tacos were gobbled up in no time .. salsas are great and they have cucumbers and lemon with cilantro and white onion at self serve station which is a nice touch .. 3.99 for a single taco was little expensive in my books. Fast service and after so long I liked a Mexican place because there is no overloaded cheese and sour cream in the food plus no chips .. I LOVE it because those damn crunchy discs are so addictive despite their calorie count. I will definitely go back for a treat when we get another 95 in AP World History unit exam .. good job Cabo Taco

Rachel Z.

Yelp
I ordered a chile rellenos and a burrito with rice and beans The burrito, rice and beans were all really good and I give them a thumbs up but my chile rellenos smelled so unpleasant and it tasted old I was super disappointed as I paid $14 for the chiles one bite and I couldn't finish them honestly I threw them away. I give that a thumbs down.

Yelp
This place is a cool and fun concept for a taco place. Reminds me of when I lived in El Paso. I got the Birria Taco meal. It was delicious. The consommé was flavorful and was a treat in itself. The flavors shine here along with the salsa bar. You know a taco place is legit when you see that.
google avatar

Julia W.

Yelp
I loved my experience at Chico Taco! The inside felt like an upscale taqueria and the salsa bar was expansive -- all salsas were delicious. I ordered the ACP and it was great. Portion size to price ratio was more than ideal. I can't wait to come back and try their birria tacos!

Yelp
First time here at Chido Taco. I may say, I wish I knew about this Mexican joint. The service is excellent, seems the whole familia is running the place and it was amazing. It's a food truck authentic taco stand in a sit-in restaurant. We ordered the "Quesabirrias tacos with black beans and Mexican rice. I inhaled the whole plate. Very home cooked meal like. Mama is super behind the counter and amigo is knocking things out at the hot burner. I felt like I was in Tijuana, Mexico for a minute. The place is authentic and it's no "Taco Bell now". Thank you crew. We will come back for other items in the menu!!!

Yelp
Living in Oakland I learned what a good taco should taste like. This was not that-at all! The skimpiest looking tacos ever. The Baja fish taco was laughable. One thin sliver of dry fish overwhelmed by veggies. Two for $11. Robbery. The tripa taco was worse. Tiny portion and greasy. Oy. It's the same service you get at McDonald's (albeit it friendlier) yet the register suggests an 18% tip. What?!. The store has fun decor but really that's all. This is my second visit. No need to return

Yelp
Delicious! I have mostly UberEats it for this place and have been satisfied for the most part. The only complaint would be the tortillas are not homemade, yet all things considering good being store bought. The yummy salsa bar (4 different ones) with all the fixings for tacos made freely available. Even radishes and cucumbers for the extras made a delightful experience. The aguas frescas are homemade not from concentrate nor from powder (which again is important for the cultural experience)! The chips and guacamole were amazingly fresh to my taste buds! Overall this Mexican gal is satisfied and now can venture into Trader Joes next door with a happy belly

Yelp
Really great margaritas, tacos, and salsa! We drove here from Durham for their one dollar margarita deal on national margarita day, it was absolutely worth it! The seating inside was great, the food came out really fast, and everything was delicious. We would definitely go back again for a similar event.

Yelp
I enjoyed the Quesabirria tacos. Very satisfying. I love that they offer light beer. I enjoyed the corona light. The rice and beans weren't served fresh. Very cold to me. The broth wasn't needed for the tacos they were already very greasy. I was uncertain as a dine in if I should be seated and someone would bring my food to me or not.

Yelp
I came here for lunch on Friday and no one was inside so I ordered right away. I got the ACP chicken bowl. My food was ready in less than one minute . Now I've been to the Raleigh one several times before and I will say they both are different. The food presentation itself was lacking. They over did it with the queso in the bowl. They also use disposable bowls instead of a washable dish. Also it lacked some flavor that I'm use to when going to the Raleigh one. It's pretty inside and cashier was friendly but they missed the mark with a few things here. I'll stick to the Raleigh location.

Yelp
I went with my beautiful gf after shopping at Trader Joe's. We wanted a quick snack, so we got chips and salsa, and a taco. Now, I understand the tacos are small but this was barely a taco honestly. I got asada and it was barely any protein. Additionally, we got chips and salsa and all the chips were broken so we were eating crumbs. We've been to the Raleigh one and it was much better. I had to convince my gf they were the same spot. See ya never Cary location!

Marie S.

Yelp
Ordered fish tacos and barria tacos I smelled the fish tacos before they hit the table. Pretty much says it all. We didn't eat them. Barria tacos were fine. Won't return
google avatar

Christine W.

Yelp
I always get the same thing here, and somehow it tastes different every time. I'm not sure if the chefs change sometimes. But it's all good! Just the ratios of cheese and meat and such to everything else varies a lot. I'll probs come back sometime and try something else. Their hot sauce bar is pretty cool. However, the tables can be a little sticky sometimes. The ambiance is fine.

Yelp
Location: The location was clean and well-suited for the area. Good amount of parking. It replaced the location of the old Tijuana Flats near Trader Joe's. Service: The service was lackluster. They were just there to take an order - nothing really more to it. Food: $71 dollars worth of food? Nah. The amount of food we got compared to the price - it wasn't worth it. There were a few dishes that we don't have pictured - where we asked for additional ingredients for an up-charge and didn't receive. Since we did take out, we didn't notice until we got home and the drive back wasn't worth the hassle - just chalk it to the game. The meat was a little on the drier side for us. On top of the matter - it was very slim on the amount of meat provided in each dish! The beans and rice had good flavor overall. Queso and chips - pretty good as well. The street corn - meh. Would we go back? Not sure. It wouldn't be the first choice and then again it could have been an off day. So - who knows - right?

Yelp
If you are unsure what to get, you HAVE to try the torta cubano! The sandwich was huge, the bread was soft, and the flavor was unmatched. I'm a torta girlie and this was a 10/10 for me. We also tried the quesabirria and the pollo adobo quesadillas. The quesabirria was pretty good and I loved that I was able to add more onions, cilantro, and salsa from the toppings bar. The quesadillas were just okay and they charged a dollar to add sour cream to them. While the food was pretty expensive and most of the entrees don't come with sides, it is still a great place to grab a bite. The workers at the counter were super nice and the interior was vibrant. Also, they have a shaved ice machine for the drinks (which is the superior form of ice.)

Yelp
I have missed Tijuana Flats that was in this location some years ago. However, Chico Taco is very comparable. Enjoyed our meal and the friendly service. The outdoor seating is nice. Several draft beers on tap and Margaritas! Check it out.

Yelp
Everything we have ordered, both dine-in and take out, at Chido has been awesome. The food is fresh and tasty. The service is fast and friendly. The restaurant is clean and welcoming. Dining at Chido Taco has become an almost weekly routine for us since the restaurant is conveniently located next to Trader Joe's. Delicious every time.

Yelp
Came here on a Friday afternoon for lunch. I ordered the chicken bowl which was very filling. The food was fresh, and the chicken was seasoned well and very tender. Like the free options on the bar- radish, cucumber, cilantro, lime and salsas.
google avatar

Stephanie J.

Yelp
Chido Taco's Cary location is open in the spot previously occupied by Tijuana Flats. My mom and I stopped in to grab lunch and had a good time. You order drinks and food when you enter then grab a seat either inside or outside. My mom and I both started off with a beer then I tried the house chida margarita. For food we split the queso dip + chips and tres leches cake then it was the baja fish tacos and elote asado for me and the combinada quesadilla for my mom. I think that the food and drinks at Chido are okay, it is a quick meal option.

Matt K.

Yelp
I had three tacos, chicken, chorizo and beef tongue. Tacos are smaller like street tacos so three was the perfect amount for myself. All three were very good. I often get beef tongue after asking how they prepare. If you have never had that give it a try, done right it is very good. This was very tender and tasty. I maybe would have liked a bit of a grill char on it, but I will get it again. Service was friendly and fast and interior is clean and nicely decorated. They have a bar, so having a adult drink with your meal is an option. It would be nice for an after work beer and snack.
google avatar

Yelp
I love this place. I come here all the time and the customer services is outstanding consistent with their food and the way it's prepared I am In love with this location. Just a wonderful location and great experience. I love it here the Raleigh location sucks ! I would never order from there but this location is over the top and top tier!! Bertha is so sweet and she is amazing they need to keep her here. She is the reason why I come here !!!

Yelp
First time at the Cary Chido Taco last night. It seems more spacious than the Raleigh location with same great food and drinks. Three of us ordered the Berry Pineapple Margarita which was delicious-- not too sweet, perfect amount of tequila and pretty, too! Husband ordered the spicy pineapple margarita which was tasty with a little bit of kick. Weather was perfect for sitting at a table outside so we enjoyed our margaritas awhile before we ordered food. We ordered a queso and chips to share --delicious. I ordered a carnitas bowl which was a good sized portion and flavorful. I love that they have a topping and salsa bar to spice up your entrees. Husband and son's girlfriend ordered the quesabirria platter and said they were delicious and son was happy with his ACP. Service was friendly and fast. Overall, a great night out.
google avatar

Rob E.

Yelp
Ate here for the first time on Monday... all I can say is wow! Food was super tasty. I got the Quesabarras and my son got the chicken Quesadilla. We also got chip and queso cheese. Everything was super tasty, meat was cooked just right, all the salsas were good. Staff was very nice, and restaurant was clean! The only complaint and I had to stretch was the salsa cups were a bit small, that is it! Portions were very generous and presentation was nice We will be back to try more of this menu!!!
google avatar

Surelyne L.

Yelp
We love authentic tacos & was very happy to see Chido open up at this location. It's quick serve, order at the counter & you can dress up your food at the condiment/ salsa bar. Overall the tacos were very good & served plain. The condiment bar had cilantro, onions, lime, radishes & several types of salsa with different heat levels. If you're expecting gringo style (i.e. with lettuce, tomatoes, sour cream & cheese) you'll need to order it separately. Seating area is a bit tight if it's busy since the tables are close together. The rope chairs are comfortable but expect to have gridmarks on your legs if wearing shorts...lol.
google avatar

Karen S.

Yelp
An impromptu drive by to order food has now turned into our go to take out taco joint. Weber tired every taco and every bowl and you can't go wrong. My favorite is the Al pastor. The place is always busy with diners and take out orders. Worth trying out.
google avatar

Ashley T.

Yelp
Great food. A little loud inside. Food came out quick. Has a toppings bar for tacos. I recommend the quesabarria. The rice and beans were good it was just cold (I think because they were busy). The consume with the barria was good and had great flavor. The portion sizes were great.
google avatar

Luz V.

Yelp
Casual atmosphere with good authentic music. The menu has great options that anyone can enjoy including a vegan taco option. Ordering is simple, you'll get a buzzer if you're eating in. I'll say, the base flavors of what we ordered needed something, couldn't pin point if it was just salt it lacked. There is a bar with toppings that complimented the food nicely. I'll be back to try a few other items on the menu.

David T.

Yelp
We had another great meal here on Halloween. Delicious Asada Tacos, Chicken quesadillas and Chicken Nachos. Plus I had one of the best margaritas I have ever had. Highly recommend this location and we will keep coming back.
google avatar

Jeff F.

Yelp
I am so happy Chido opened a location so close to my house! I've been driving the 20 minutes to the Raleigh location because it's that good! Love the Tortas, and the flan chocolate cake is amazing! They don't have an actual bar at this place, but they do have beer and mixed drinks.

Jonathan H.

Yelp
The food is great and the service is amazing they were quick and work hard, all while making sure customers are pleased. I recommend everybody go here.
google avatar

Christi S.

Yelp
The strawberry basil margarita is (chefs kiss). Baha tacos were some of the best I've had.

Yelp
Omg. Omg y'all. I moved to Raleigh after 5 years in Austin, Texas. So, though I'm a gringa, I'm confident I know tacos. And these are soooooooo gooooood!! I'm just so happy I can't even tell you. Raleigh's not the food city ATX is, but when I tell you Chido would make Austin "best of" lists, I mean it. You order at the counter and pay there, quick-service style then get a buzzer. There is a fancy refrigerated toppings bar where you can dress up your tacos to your liking. The quesobirria tacos were outstanding with fresh, rich cheese and a hearty dipping broth. The chips and queso was amazing: thick corn chips and velvety soft, white queso. The GM took my order and she was lovely. Welcomed me to the area and made sure to check in on how I enjoyed the food. Plenty of indoor and outdoor seating and I love how it makes me full before my pilgrimage to Trader Joe's next door, so I don't spend too much. ;)

Robert B.

Yelp
Super , Real Deal , coming from California , Love trying new food Superior Service, Thanks Bertha

Yelp
What a great place! First time here. Host so friendly from the outset. Got the Mahi mahi Bowl with a Pacifico Draft. Bright, airy corner spot at Kildaire and Cary Parkway. Efficiently run- moved a lot of happy customers through in a short time while I was there. I will be back soon for the Barbecoa Bowl!
google avatar

Mari M.

Yelp
The service was amazing! The cashier remembered us from a previous visit and she was very personable. The food was authentic and delicious, everything was reasonably priced. We tried the Jalapeño Pineapple Margarita and the Strawberry Basil Margarita and both were amazing. The restaurant was quick and the inside is very clean and inviting. The vegan chicken tacos were delicious, I love that they are vegan friendly! We will definitely be coming back!
google avatar

George D.

Yelp
This sure makes me miss Tijuana Flats previously in this location! The food is pricey, yet skimpy in protein and with mushy rice and limp vegetables. Tacos are street-taco sized. The wrong order came out, so iffy service. The tables have oddly angled legs that prevented 4 of 4 guys in the restaurant when we were there from fitting both knees under the table. Fixins bar was mostly empty and aged. Uninspired decor and ambience.
google avatar

Kira C.

Yelp
This place upon entry smells like a really dirty back of house or like a portopotty. It was so bad I couldn't order and went down to Diced. My sons got an order of fries that are school cafeteria fries at best. Giving 2 stars bc I haven't eaten other things but the overall experience is pretty gross and it's hard to get past.

Heather L.

Yelp
I've gotten take out a few times and each time I'm very happy!! Food is delicious and ordering easy and when I've asked for suggestions I'm always happy. Salsas are delicious and I love they packed an array. I love a good tongue taco and it's not on most menus so I was excited. Nopale delicious but the star was the poblano tacos-amazing!!! Always have had a great experience
google avatar

Nicole C.

Yelp
Disappointed. I love supporting local businesses but this was a one and done. The ACC would've been better with pink shrimp instead of tiger shrimp. My husband didn't care for the torta. It wasn't bad but it wasn't amazing.
google avatar

Jasmine W.

Yelp
Very fast service! The taste of the Cerviche was my favorite, fresh and spicy with a kick. Would definitely go back. Ambiance was clean and the facility seemed very family friendly
google avatar

Davone R.

Yelp
Taco's kinda dry. They had some interesting flavors for margaritas. If you happen to stop by order a margarita
google avatar

Jessica D.

Yelp
I can walk here so I tried it out for lunch last week. I had 2 al pastor tacos. I can't speak to the authenticity of the meat in these vs my other experiences, but I've had the same tacos at Chubby's, Gonza, and Totopos and this is the first time the pork has been grilled strips of meat. I didn't love it... the grilled flavor was weird, the pork was not tender unlike the traditionally braised pork in these, and the meat wasn't saucy. I did add some of the green salsa from the salsa bar, which helped. Despite the menu description, there was no salsa on the taco. There was only one small cube of pineapple between the 2 tacos. I also got an individual serving of queso. The queso was tasty - had a little kick to it! - but I can get 6 Oz of queso at Chubby's for $3.99 AND I get chips. Here I got one of those tiny condiment cups (maybe 1 or 2 oz) for $2.99 with no chips. The drink menu is really intriguing - I couldn't try any this trip because I was working, but I'd love to try some in the future. Staff were friendly. I'll give them another chance and try something different next time.

Yelp
First impression: Terrible customer service from the condescending & passive-aggressive woman taking our order. Next we have the up-charging and no-substitution craziness. I mean, who doesn't include even one tortilla with their ACP?!? Not to mention, I tried to order ACP with half steak and half shrimp, which are the same price. I was told I could only do one meat and need to pay additional for another. No thanks, with just the one meat and added charge for the tortillas, I was already at $15 for below average food. Food that actually made my husband and I both ill, but I will spare those details. Next, I try to get a Kids meal for my son and I can't substitute the rice & beans for fries, even though (on the menu) fries are cheaper. There was more ridiculousness, but let's wrap this up with one last statement. Don't even bother asking me for a tip to input my order. Instead you should offer me a discount for putting up with your lack of people skills and snotty attitude. First and last time we go here.
google avatar

Yelp
I stoped in today for the first time and they just earned a repeat customer!! I highly recommend you visit and eat here. You will not be disappointed!! The food is FRESH and you can taste the difference. They have a variety of tacos which are delicious and the rice and beans seasoned with great taste. They have a fixing bar with sauces and extras for the tacos. They ambiance is cool with lively authentic music. The service if friendly and the food came out hot and quick.

Ray H.

Yelp
Food was very good and service was amazing. Never had tried so was goood experience. Well recommended to anyone looking for tacos and a good spot to have a quick drink
