"Peru has one of the largest Chinese immigrant populations in Latin America, and Lima has one of the region’s largest Chinatowns. It’s no wonder, then, that Chinese food has influenced Peruvian cooking in a pretty major way. Dishes like lomo and chaufa (fried rice) have Chinese roots and are mainstays at many Peruvian restaurants. However, there is a whole category of Peruvian-Chinese food called chifa, and Chifa Du Kang is the place in Miami to sample this unique hybrid style of cooking. The chi jau kai, a dish of boneless fried chicken drenched in a black bean and five spice gravy, is the first thing to order at this casual Bird Road spot. The chicken is crisp on the outside and super juicy on the inside, while the sauce is complex from the fermented black beans and warm spices. To counter the saltiness, pair this dish with kam lu wantan - crunchy fried wontons topped with a combination of proteins, veggies, and boiled quail’s eggs in a sweet and sour tamarind sauce. Food Rundown Sopa Pac Pow This is a classic Peruvian-Chinese soup, and Chifa Du Kang does a great version that is pretty close to what you can get in Lima’s “barrio chino.” It’s essentially the love child of egg drop soup and special fried rice. Chifa Du Kang’s sopa pac pow comes with beaten egg, roasted pork, shrimp, chicken, and green onion like a proper special fried rice. However, instead of rice, this soup has slippery, chewy, and transparent mung bean noodles. Chi Jau Kai This is another Peruvian-Chinese favorite that deserves every bit as much attention as lomo saltado. A whole fillet of dark meat chicken gets pounded thin, coated in a cornstarch batter and fried until crunchy on the outside and juicy on the inside. It gets chopped up, plated, scattered with snow peas, and smothered in an oyster sauce-infused gravy scented with just a hint of Chinese five spice powder. It’s one of the most addictive dishes here. Lomo Saltado The lomo saltado here is a disappointment, especially considering that this dish is a chifa mainstay. The sauce tastes like the brown gravy you find in takeout staples, like beef and broccoli. Instead of chunks of seared sirloin, they use paper-thin strips of tenderized beef, like what you find in beef and broccoli. In fact, this dish is essentially beef and broccoli without the broccoli. To add insult to injury, Chifa Du Kang’s version subs flavorful red onions for cheaper white onions and adds sliced bell peppers. Avoid this and stick to the chi jau kai or sopa pac pow instead." - Carlos C Olaechea

**Absolutely fantastic experience!** From the moment we walked in, the staff made us feel incredibly welcome. Our waitress Jessica provided a great service and was attentive without being overbearing—Jessica was friendly, knowledgeable, and made great recommendations. As for the food—wow! Every dish was packed with flavor and beautifully presented. You can tell they use fresh, high-quality ingredients. The portions were huge, you will definitely have enough food! Highly recommend this place for anyone looking for amazing food and top-notch service.

Google
It’s so hard to find good Chinese food in south Florida and this was 10/10! The service was exceptional, Jessica was a great server and made us feel right at home. I will definitely be returning as a comfort food meal

Google
The restaurant offers a fantastic Chinese Peruvian fusion experience. Their dishes, like the Chaufa Especial and Lomo Saltado, pollo ti pa kay, are packed with flavor. Our server, Jessica, made the meal even better, she was incredibly friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable, guiding us through the menu with ease. For delicious and authentic chifa with great service, this spot is a must try in Miami.

My family and I have always dinned in the Kendall location, but TODAY WILL BE THE LAST TIME!!! We were sat in a small table where the dishes did not fit once they were brought to us. We asked to be moved to another table so that we could enjoy our meal and be comfortable. The manager “VANESSA” who I have never seen before refused to move us. She used as an excuse that those tables needed to stay available in case other customers walked in. I did complain stating that we arrived first and that we should be treated with the respect that we deserve. She continued to refuse to accommodate us and did not care that we were comfortable. The request that we made was not unreasonable due to the excess of available empty tables.. As a matter of fact when we finally finished dining even more tables were empty. It is a pity that a restaurant with such good cuisine has made such poor choices with hiring a manager that does not care for their customer's concerns. I’ve been a patron for many years and thanks to VANESSA I will never return. I attached pictures to make it clear that we lacked space and there was plenty of it around us.

Google
Excellent food, so fast! We have family meal for 5 and could have served 8 people. Wonton soup was top notch. My favorite was fried rice and the lemon chicken. Great deal.

Yelp
Here are the 3 dishes we ordered. The food was pretty good! The service was Excellent! Ruben our waiter went above and beyond to make use we had everything we needed! Very attentive 5 Star service! It was my mom's birthday and my cousins invited her out for lunch. I read somewhere that this was a great restaurant. So we decided to try it. I'm glad we did. We took some photos and Ruben volunteered to take our family photos for us so I could be in the picture as well. I'm a professional photographer and to be honest. These are the photos I would've take very clear and sharp with the perfect composition. Thanks Ruben for a memorable experience! We will be back! I highly recommend this restaurant!

Yelp
This un update! Went to the renew Du Kang Food was bad and cold and very expensive for what it is. Not going back again

Emilce R.

Yelp
The food here is excellent. You get a lot of food for the price you pay. This restaurant is located in a small strip mall and has plenty of parking. The ambiance is very chill. You can come dressed however. Great for families too. The service is definitely top notch. I'll be returning soon.

Yelp
We stopped by for lunch at this Chifa place and it didn't disappoint us. The service was quick, the servers were very friendly and large portions were served. The bathrooms and the whole place were clean. The only thing they can improved is the chicken. Lol! Yes!, the chicken was a little hard to chew but other than that everything was great.

Magda M.

Yelp
Great Peruvian Chinese restaurant that gives generous portions. I had the special Chinese rice and it was delicious and plentiful. In addition, the restaurant and bathroom are clean. My server was very friendly and checked on me a few times. Overall, I definitely recommend this restaurant an

Luis Felipe Z.

Yelp
Ordered at work the lunch special of chicken ti pa Kay and chicken chi jau Kay. They come with either fried rice or noodles. Everything had a great flavor. Was really surprised by the flavor of the ti pa Kay. Definitely ordering again!

Yelp
oh dear - we did not like the food The service was friendly and efficient. The place was packed and seemed popular, as the establishment was very busy. The food looked nice, but we did not like it very much at all. To be noted the portions are huge. We tried the following - - a special fried rice - which was the best dish and we enjoyed it. 8/10 - the duck special - The worst duck dish we have ever tried. The sauce was like a gravy and tasted weird. The duck was chopped pieces that incuded all the bones - so tedious to eat and frankly off putting. The sauce was rather bland and a once again a gravy consistency. The skin on the duck was soggy to boot too and not crispy. - a beef noodle dish - another rather bland dish and served with the same type of gravy sauce once again. The noodles were also rather thick, more like a spaghetti. - a crispy chicken dish - the meat was not crispy and rather soggy again served with the dreaded gravy consistency sauce. Now we like Peruvian food and we like Chinese food. I am not sure if we appreciated the Peruvian Chinese twist, but it did not work for us at all. Such a shame as all the dishes looked appealing but the taste was not.

Maria E.

Yelp
When we are here in precovid 2020, the chicken quality was not good. But all the beef and pork dishes were great! We finally gave it another try last week with takeout and ordered chicken with noodles and beef fried rice. Thank goodness we ordered the beef fried rice bc the the chicken was hard bad quality. I thought maybe it was just the two pieces I ate but everyone said the same thing. I'd rather have less chicken but great quality than huge pieces that aren't edible... stick with the beef!

Yelp
Omg! I am in LOVE with this Chifa. "Chifa" basically means Peruvian-Chinese food, and it's very hard to find in the U.S, but this place impressed me! AMAZING food, very close to what you can find in Peru! Keep doing the great job you're doing Du Kang!

Allison D.

Yelp
I love Chifa du Kang, i have been ordering take out for many years at this location but today was my first time dining in. With their new addition in kendall, close to my home, i became a regular because it is literally 5 min away, but today we decided to pay a visit to the mother of all. As usual excellent customer service and quality but what i really like about this location is that they offer a few more items in their menu than the Kendall restaurant. This restaurant doesn't disappoint if you are looking for some good Chaufa, this is the place to go.

Vanessa S.

Yelp
How am I just discovering this place now?!? Talk about delicious food! I came here and ordered take out. I ordered the wantan frito, soy kao frito, and the arroz chaufa with meat. The food was all delicious! The wantan were crispy and the sauce to dip is a delicious combo. The frito which were like dumplings were my favorite starter! They were friend but crispy and not oily at all. The rice was flavor packed. No need to add soy sauce or anything to it. The price for everything was amazing! I am huge fan and definitely plan on coming back!

Gladys S.

Yelp
Very friendly & welcoming staff and owner. There were clearly many regulars present which made it a good vibe. I wasn't too crazy abt the pao but everything else gave me a nostalgic feeling to when my gma was around. She loved this little Latin Asian Fusion place we would go to in the city. We ordered: Fried Wontons - not my usual, but I didn't hate it, it was like I lil cube of pancetta in a wonton wrapper. Chaufa Special for 2 & Pollo Chi Jau Kay were really good and fresh tasting.

Rebeca O.

Yelp
The food is amazing. Best chaufa and lomo saltado I've had in a long time. I ordered to go and they forgot to include the yellow pepper for the lomo but other than that everything was great!

Fernando G.

Yelp
Excellent food that is similar to the one in Barrio Chino, Lima. Fresh and tasty. I really like Fuchifu. I recommend 100%

Rosy F.

Yelp
Good amount of food provided per portion. Good location off 88/117 Ave. Staff is nice and willing to answer questions pertaining to menu, ingredients etc.

Fabiola V.

Yelp
Very good food! The best Chinese food in Míami. The service was fast and the service amazing.

Ruth S.

Yelp
Their fried dumplings are delicious. I love their wontons with meat. The fried chicken pieces were very juicy and tasty. The beef fried rice was great as well. This will be on my rotation.

Pablo A.

Yelp
This is a proper CHIFA. It's not Chinese food or Peruvian, it's CHIFA,. Food is delicious, big portions to share or save for later, people are polite. This is an amazing place, I'm glad they are growing and have more locations, they are amazing!!

Claudia J.

Yelp
Typical chinese restaurant. This place has been here for many years. The owners take pride on their dishes, they migrated from Peru many years ago. They will understand spanish, english and cantonese languages! Very friendly staff! When ordering it is always a question, which vegetables do you have? It all depends on what veggies they get so here goes a dish that is not on the menu, Stir Fry Bitter Melon with Meat and Tau Si. This is a typical cantonese dish. The bitter melon is great for your health and it's not at all bitter. The dish missed some sauce, then again there are some versions of this dish. The Chicken dish ordered is one of the staples of the restaurant, it was ok.

Regina V.

Yelp
Delicious food and very good portions. The specials from Monday through Friday are excellent. The service received from Jessica or Ruben always Highly recommended.

Teresa T.

Yelp
My best choice of South Miami, my Chinese Peruvian flavors, service like home ambiance the same, go for it

I am H.

Yelp
Dry food, it looked old. The lady who serves has a very bad attitude. The place looks like a cheap cafeteria ambiance, but with 5 star arrogance at the time of charging. Bad, very bad. LOMO SALTADO without rice (really?), and if you ask for rice they charge you extra. Tipping is MANDATORY, even if the service is so bad. Stay away from this bad place.

Aida M.

Yelp
A Peruvian friend recommended Chifa du Kang as " the Cadillac" meaning the best in Peruvian/Chinese food and she was so correct!!! I only ordered the vegetable chaufa (fried rice), and did takeout! The vegetables were fresh, it wasn't greasy and was so delicious! I'll be back for more for sure!!

Yorgis G.

Yelp
Excellent food and very fast service, exquisite flavor on all dishes I ordered Recommended

Ivette P.

Yelp
Ordered takeout and Chifa Du Kang did not disappoint. Everything was fresh and delicious. Best fried rice I've had in a long time and the fried wonton was crispy and delicious.

Daisy M.

Yelp
Oh man, I miss this place dearly. My dad would always take me to this restaurant. We lived in Broward County and would make the drive for chifa.

Anielka G.

Yelp
best fried rice and they make the best chicken with pineapple. Jessica is the best! so caring and great memory and gives the best recommendation. every time and around I love go there to order the fried rice!

maria t.

Yelp
Food was excellent. I ordered a family size Chaufa Especial which was perfect for 5 adults with large portions. The service was very good and friendly. The restaurant was nicely decorated and has large tables.

Mike R.

Yelp
Man I got the egg rolls and friend rice and I tried and tried to stop eating it but to no avail. It was bomb crack...great authentic Chinese food. I loved it! Thank you... I would have taken a pic but.... It was gone!

Efren M.

Yelp
This is the ONLY authentic CHIFA in the Miami area, there may be more CHIFA, however, not as AUTHENTIC! We come here often, especially when my girlfriend's parents are in town. One of them LOVES IT! Service is quick, friendly, helpful and funny on occasions. As far as the food goes, it's pretty good, EXTREMELY large portions. Be prepared to have plenty of left overs and keep eating chifa for days, lol.

Tommy L.

Yelp
If you're looking for comfort food with a fusion of Chinese and Peruvian, look no further! This is by far my favorite Peruvian restaurant that I've tried in Miami. Even the high end restaurant doesn't compare to Chifa Du Kang taste and service. Every dish I ordered was delicious and the service is top notch. You definitely have a family atmosphere at the location. Make sure to order an Inca cola with your chifa!

Mandii E.

Yelp
Absolutely my favorite Chinese eatery. It's a hole in the wall, low key spot with fresh and amazing food. The service is great and the plates are family style. Must visit. Authentic dishes.

Raul G.

Yelp
Love this place. We usually order takeout once a month, but dined in for the first time today. It's as if you're in El barrio China en Lima

Daniel R.

Yelp
I went on Christmas day to try this restaurant out. It was packed. Above average serivce with good quality food and prices make this worth trying. So if you need a breakdown: service 4, pricing 4 and food quality 3.5 I found that the portions were huge while prices were reasonable. I would have liked a little more pizaz in the vegetable dish that I ordered. My parents were very happy with their picks: the pork fried rice and a chicken dish with vegetables. We had so much food that it will make for a second meal. 15% tip is normally added, you can add more. A large menu and a good selection of drinks was a nice touch. Vegetable egg roll was just average.

Maria R.

Yelp
Service was great. The spot is a little dated and some what of a traditional take on typical Chifa delights of Peru. It dishes we ordered were the authentic dishes you can order at any Chifa in Peru yet lacked flavor. Great concept as Peru is known for great food and flavor. The dishes we ordered were shareable. It's always great to find a place that can take you back to your homeland. I just wish that next time the flavor of the dishes would be to the standard every Peruvian is accustomed to enjoying.

Miryam Roxana F.

Yelp
The best Chinese Peruvian food in Miami... the attention is excellent and they are so fast and very kind. The food is really, really delicious ! It's like restaurants in Calle Capón in Lima Perú. Du Kang in Bird Road deserves 5*****... Thank you for all!!

Ernesto G.

Yelp
PLEASE STAY AWAY FROM THIS RESTAURANT!!! The food was tasteless. We talk to the waiter about the food as soon as we received it .And he went to the manager. She told him to tell us that that's how the food comes and nothing was going to be done So we ask to speak to the manager she totally ignored us!! The service was great by the gentleman.. management was horrible!! MIAMI DONT GET FOOLED BY THIS RESTAURANT 5 STARS DOWN !!!!!!!!

Lizzie C.

Yelp
I love Chinese Peruvian food!! We have been several times. We ate arroz Chaufa especial, Gallina Chijau Kay, Siu may, y Kam Lu wantan!! Todo riquísimo!

Karla A.

Yelp
No hay peruano que no lo recomiende, sin lugar a dudas el mejor chifa en Miami, sigan creciendo,el éxito de ustedes es nuestro orgullo como peruanos

Joe P.

Yelp
Hit or miss. Some days good other days horrible. Today was horrible. I eat here quite often as it's very near my parents house. Unfortunately it's not consistent. When it's good, it's great; but when it's bad it's horrible. I always come back because it's convenient and hoping it's a good day. Again, Unfortunately, today was bad. I called and they put me on hold, so I got in my car and drove over there. When I got there I noticed the girl standing in front on the counter twiddling her fingers. She took my order from the window and she finished I turned my phone and asked her if this was their phone #. She said "yes." I asked her did you notice I've been on hold for 17 minutes now? She quickly reach into her pocket and pulled out a portable phone and answered my call. Dumbfounded, she said, "sorry, we've been busy." That's service for you!!!

Melissa D.

Yelp
Delicious food! Excellent service. El mesero es excelente. Food came out quickly and was fresh, delicious and huge portions. We got two plates and a family fried rice for six people and had a small amount left over desserts were excellent. Highly recommend and we will certainly return

Brenda C.

Yelp
Horrible, horrible, horrible! First they gave me the wrong order, then they don't even serve it right... I've been coming here for YEARS! Back when they weren't even a restaurant and just take out! Back to when my parents knew THE OWNERS BACK IN PERÚ! Service, quality, EVERYTHING HAS DRAMATICALLY DROPPED!!!! Please avoid at all cause! There's MUCH BETTER PERUVIAN PLACES OUT THERE!

Andrea H.

Yelp
It took one hour and 20 minutes to make it from Palm Beach to this location. The outside was not appealing small corner location in a busy plaza. But as soon as those doors opened and the air carried past under my nostrils... WE knew this was going to be .. wait for it- lengen-DARY! So for 9pm it was busy, we gazed over other tables and saw arroz chaufa... callua wonton, Inca Cola everywhere. I loved the decor, it was bright and vivid with red and gold, The tumis and Buddha's a wonderful combination of Peruvian Chinese! Fun fact- my family has and will continue to travel for what we seek to be authentic Peruvian Chinese food. For the last 10 years we came to this area many time for a small hole in the wall location that made superb food. THIS LOCATION is by far grand in the taste and now vivid memory we hold in remembering Peru for its food. The service was wonderful, friendly and quick. Food came out hot and scrumptious - mouthwatering to behold it as it came through the doors. If it wasn't for how far away it was we would probably make this a weekly gathering.

Renee T.

Yelp
One of my favorite Chinese restaurant, always fresh. Best fried rice in town. Love the Peruvian cushion that it has. This is a hidden gem.

Rodrigo S.

Yelp
A Miami staple if you're Peruvian. Best chifa style Chinese food you can get in Dade county.

Nathaly A.

Yelp
CHIFA PERUANA! Not sure how it compares to others in the area bc we don't live in FL. The food came out very fast and the service was great. They spoke both English and Spanish! We did a combo for 4 and we were six people and it was soooo much food! I didn't even take pictures of the other food because I was so hungry! I would recommend the Tallarin saltado and the sopa de wonton and the Kanu wonton. (If you don't want the wonton to be soggy try asking them on the side) They had a lot of food options and it came with a large Inca Kola.

Gerry L.

Yelp
Chifa is a Peruvian Chinese fusion, which is very popular in Lima, however this restaurant is one of the two authentic chifa that can be found in Miami. We decided to order take out two weekends ago and we ordered the usual which were the family sized chicken fried rice and the chijaukay chicken. Located in Bird Road in 92 avenue the exterior is spacious but not very modern, but trust me don't judge a book by it's cover. The family size fried rice is good for ten adults, the rice is perfectly cooked with large chunks of chicken and chives, which give it extra taste that Peruvian loves. The Chijaukay chicken is breaded chicken with oyster sauce, this plate is the bomb!!! When eating these two dishes please pour some of the sauce from the chijaukay on top of rice, you will thank me later.

Emely M.

Yelp
Wow finally some Chinese style food I can trust!! I'm so iffy about eating Chinese foods most places just because not all Chinese spots have decent quality meats! But this place is great!! And you can actually enjoy their meat options comfortably! Packed in flavor, quality!

Gigi A.

Yelp
First of all, as a Peruvian with chinese ancestry I feel really disappointed with this Chifa. However, I decide to leave this review because I woul not like people that have never experienced Peruvian Chifa before get the wrong impression. Guys, this is not a good chifa at all. My husband took me here because he had tried chifa in Peru before, and he wanted us to try it here in the US. I was hesitance, because in Peru you can also find some bad quality cheap Chifa, but as we saw the good reviews, we decided to drive all the way to Bird. Gosh, were to begin. We ordered char-siu with pineapple (chancho asado con pina) and 1/2 roasted duck. If I could leave zero stars I would do so, this was truely inedible. I feel bad for the waiter cause they were fine, and the service is fast. But a restaurant is about the food, and this was awful. The charsiu with pineapple had a marker fluorescent orange color, and so the pork, which was completely dried and tasted like old frozen meat. My husband ended up eating just the pineapple. The duck was bone dried, tasteless, almost not meat on it, and was chopped in a way that make it so hard to eat because you find little pieces of bones everywhere, and had weird gravy. Not at all the roasted duck that you can eat in Chifas at Peru. The price is not expensive but not cheap at all, for this price and tasteless flavor rather go to Tropical chinese or Good Chef. I just eated 3 pieces of duck and surrendered. To not be unpolite with the waiter we asked him for to-go-boxes. Do not have to say that we never ate it. I am very sorry but this is not good. If you had the chance to go to Peru, try Ti-ti, Hou-Wa, Wa-lok Chifas in Lima. Will definetely not recommend this restaurant and will not go back again.
