🔵 Chijmes Hall, 30 Victoria Street,#01-28 CHIJMES, Singapore 187996 🟨 A while ago, my husband and I had the pleasure of attending a wedding banquet at Chijmes Hall, a beautifully restored historic venue located at CHIJMES. 💙 This stunning & magnificent venue was formerly "The Convent of the Holy Infant Jesus" convent girls' school, and it's hard to believe the transformation it has undergone. 🟨 Decor = The moment you step into Chijmes Hall, you're being transported back in time. 🩶 The beautifully restored chapel-turned-event-hall retains its original architectural charm, with stunning stained-glass windows, high ceilings, and elegant columns. 🟤 The décor is tasteful and sophisticated, with a perfect blend of old-world vintage charm and modern elegance. ************************************** 🟦 Wedding Banquet= 🩵 My nephew's wedding banquet was held in the evening, and the atmosphere was electric. The Chinese nine-course dinner was exquisite, with each dish carefully prepared and presented. ✔️ The service was impeccable, with friendly and attentive staff ensuring that every guest's needs were met. ✳️ The banquet service at Chijmes Hall was top-notch.🟧 The staff were efficient, courteous, and went above and beyond to ensure that the wedding banquet was a success. ❇️ From the start to the end of the wedding event, every detail was taken care of with precision and care. 🟫 Overall experience : 🤎 Chijmes Hall is a truly unique and special venue, steeped in local history and charm. The transformation from a convent school to a wedding and event venue is nothing short of magical. 🩶 My nephew's wedding banquet was an unforgettable experience, and I'm so glad he and his wife chose Chijmes Hall to celebrate this very special occasion. 🔵 A Little History ● Chijmes Hall was revamped in 1995 (though planning began earlier) and has since become a popular venue for weddings and events. 🧡 I am very glad the government had conserved the entire former convent school, so that generations down the road can enjoy the splendor of this gorgeous complex. 🩷 It's truly wonderful to see this historic venue being used to celebrate special occasions, and I'm sure it will continue to be a beloved landmark in Singapore for years to come.

My second Candlelight performance. Vox is great. Good rapport among the band member. Love it. Keep finding gems and organise these performances 😍 Venue wise, I prefer Art House as it is a more intimate set up. Rows slope upwards unlike in Chijmes, where it is flat. Last row is quite far. If someone much taller sits in front of you in Chijmes, then gg. 😂

Must say the interior architecture is awesome and perfect for large weddings in SG. Had our colleagues wedding here and it easily accommodated almost 29 tables which sure is big enough for such occasions in the context of modern day Singapore. The catered food was excellent as well.

I decided to write a review and add some photos and videos from the night CHIJMES, since I went to the wonderful event "Candlelight: Tribute to Queen on keys". Look how beautiful it was! And the acoustics! I admire the fact that temples provide the opportunity to hold such magnificent events!

Attended a joyful and enjoyable wedding held at The CHIJMES Hall. It's one of the better and more special locations that you can consider for a memorable wedding. The hall is majestic, and it brings out the beauty of the wedding ceremony. The hall is able to accommodate a maximum of 26 tables that are comfortably spaced out. Excellent and attentive catering was provided by PAUL. There was a free flow of wine 🍷 🍷 . There is sufficient parking at CHIJMES, and there are more at Raffles City.

Chijmes Singapore is a photographer’s dream—offering a perfect blend of historic charm and modern elegance. The light streaming through the arches creates a magical atmosphere, making it an ideal venue for capturing beautiful moments. As a photographer, I’ve had the pleasure of shooting here, and the natural beauty of the location never disappoints. Check out some of my work on Instagram @wilson_multifolds. Highly recommended for couples and anyone looking for a picturesque spot with character and charm.

Yelp
Nice place to visit before Raffle hotel, they are close to each other, similar style but more details. Chinned has more stores and shops inside of the plaza, don't forget to check it out.

Yelp
Gorgeous spot, especially in the evening. This used to be a convent, now turned shopping complex. The convent has all the lovely, religious, ornate details. There's a modernness to this place as well. There's bright, grassy areas for people to hang out, sit on bean bags, and watch the evening go by. It's a nice spot to hang out with family, friends, and definitely even make it a date night with your significant other. I didn't get to dine here, but I heard there's something for everyone from affordable to expensive eateries.

Yelp
This is an old convent that has been converted to an enclave of nice sit down restaurants. It comes alive in the evenings and looks great lit up at night. A nice place for a date or an evening out with friends/family.

Yelp
Chijmes was right across the hotel I stayed in Singapore and I thought it was just a restaurant until I heard the story behind. So, it's essentially a convent & school converted into a fun restaurant/hangout space. There' s a wide range of restaurants hosting several cuisines and we picked Indochine. I love how the convent architecture is preserved and it makes for a great hangout destination. Went here for dinner after work with friends. I certainly think the food is pretty pricey for the quality, taste and portions! Nothing to write home about there. Again, the place, the vibes are cool and may be a better restaurant selection would've made my day. I'd give it another shot and explore other restaurants the next time I'm in Singapore.

Yelp
This could very well be my most favorite place in all of Singapore (that's I've visited at least). To call it an old convent that's been converted into a restaurant and lounge hub and event space, would be doing it a disservice...but that's really what it is! With dozens of restaurants from multiple cuisines to choose from, this is a far cry from the vibe of the Hawker's Markets that Singapore is known for. It's more the perfect setting for a happy hour, first (or second, or hundredth) date, or even just a night out with friends. The setting and ambience of the whole 'compound' is indescribable. An old world meets new world feel. And the chapel at night is a beautiful sight to look at as you sip on a cocktail at any one of the restaurants in the courtyard. If you are ever in Singapore, this is definitely a place to rest your feet after a long day of walking, shopping, and eating!

Yelp
For the first two months I lived in Singapore, I often walked by Chijmes. I thought it was just a restaurant but I didn't know what kind. It wasn't until a little later that I actually learned that Chijmes was actually a destination with a number of bars and restaurants. It has a bit of the feel of a European square. Something that I do not see anywhere else in Singapore. http://tinyurl.com/ch5fqkw I've been to a number of restaurants in Chijmes. Sun Japanese Dining (good) http://tinyurl.com/bwtuvn3 Tatsu Sushi (very good) http://tinyurl.com/ceas3n5 Seoul Korean Charcoal BBQ Restaurant (not so good) http://tinyurl.com/d8jjl2d Gyu Kaku (very good) http://tinyurl.com/d3cd688 There is a wide range of other restaurants spanning numerous cuisines. There is also a number of bars including a specialty whiskey bar. There are also events at Harry's where sports are shown on a very large screen. For bars, I quite like Cuscaden. It is a very laid back place to have a drink and chat with a friend or two. They often have live music but it isn't so loud that it is intrusive. http://tinyurl.com/cvqla8j Overall - I think Chijmes is worth exploring. There are definitely some very good restaurants there.

Yelp
Chijmes ain't so bad. Sure, it may look a bit atas and super expatty, but you can't deny that it's a beautiful building in the heart of Singapore's CBD. Location-wise, it's within walking distance to Bras Basah MRT and City Hall MRT. They are still in the midst of doing renovations at the time of this review, but the parts that they have finished renovating look pretty sweet. They did a good job of maintaining the exterior, while adding more modern touches and pizzazz to really make it a nightlife and restaurant destination. I haven't tried a lot of the new establishments that have popped up, but I can tell you that I liked Tonzaemon by Ma Maison and that I occasionally hang out at Dimbulah during the week for coffee and free wifi. A lot of the new bars are really trying promote themselves, so it might be worth it to stop by after work to see if they have any decent happy hour deals. If the weather is perfect, the alfresco vibe makes it a great spot to unwind!

Yelp
The place used to be very original and super cool, but now it's just really commercial and the buzz of the place is not the same as what it used to be. It still gets quite a bit of foreigners and tourists who visit - but a lot of locals do not dig Chimes as much as they used to. What I Love: There is a nice social area inside - a square - where you can sit and people watch - and that area is kinda nice. The vibe during festivals and celebrations can be kinda fun - like during Superbowl or Christmas. There's a Brazilian restaurant that is Buffet style and serves quite a bit of meat. Reasonably priced - it's got quite a few interesting menu options. What I Don't Love: The restaurants are generally pricey - but they've become kinda commercial and blah - that I don't really like going there anymore. It's just not as fun and funky as it used to be.

Yelp
Such a cute little spot for dinner! Chijmes is an old historic building that was originally a convent built in the early 1900s. Today, it's been retrofitted to house restaurants, shops, as well as serve as a venue for various entertainment purposes. I liked it in the evening more because the lights gave it a really warm and cozy environment and there's live music! It's just a beautiful outdoor space with restaurants that range from typical bar food to oysters and delectable seafood. Check it out if you want to escape the hawker centre scene!

Yelp
I think of the great things about Singapore is building preservation. CHIJMES is another one of them. Formerly a convent, it is converted to a destination of restaurants and bars. Even if the dining and drinking options there don't appeal to you, it makes a wonderful visit for how the convent architecture is now integrated into this night time destination which also means it's perfect for a quick photography stop.

Yelp
Food was mediocre. Service was not good. They served everyone's dinners at different times. By the time everyone's meals came mine was cold. But they did give us a free beer for the inconvenience.

Yelp
They claimed free parking for 2 hours but you are required to down load an apps. Since I wasn't able to download the apps and the management office promise to return my call but never heard from them since.......poor customer service and follow up.
