"Chilaquil, originally an Austin-born Mexican food truck started by Orlando and Susana Aguirre, will open as a physical restaurant in San Antonio in October. The menu focuses on chilaquiles with various options and also includes tacos, tortas, and quesadillas. It will offer both takeout and dine-in services on the patio. The food truck will close permanently once the restaurant opens." - Nadia Chaudhury

This place was delicious. After being treated rudely at boiler house and leaving, we were happy to stop by the food hall and find some goodies. I had the torta sandwich and it did not disappoint. The horchata tasted fresh and delicious as well. The portion was perfect. My daughter got the al pastor tacos and they were amazing!

Google
With a part of the flavor of Mexico, good and varied menu, I found the traditional Jarritos soft drinks, I recommend the tamarind one. The Tacos al pastor and the gringas, very good, also las Tortas, the sauces need to be improved, they do not receive cash payments. I highly recommend it!!

Great blue corn tacos! I enjoyed the Mexican cheese that they put on. Service was quick and it’s a nice lively place to have lunch. A bit pricey but I got a lot of food.

Tacos were pretty good, guac was fantastic. Nice to get food to go and enjoy outside with the kids. The tortilla chips were tasty too!

Food was pricey but delicious. The customer service is lacking. The atmosphere is laid back relaxing. Serve your own soda!

I only tried the sirloin street tacos and the meat was very mushy, almost like it had been boiled. There was just no flavor. The texture was like papier -mâché. It just crumbled. All the other ingredients were pretty fresh. Anyways I got a pizza at Wonder-slice and that was delicious. This is the only picture I took.

Usually, I love this place. But the customer service is down trending big time. I almost asked for a manager today, but honestly, if you allow your employees to act like that, it makes me believe you wouldn't care. I had placed an order for curbside pickup- which is already difficult as it is basically impeding traffic to wait for your food in the car outside the food hall- but they never came. After 35 minutes, I figured they were busy and went inside and saw my food sitting there- shockingly, there was NO line. The employees were just standing there talking. I went to the front and said I had an order for (my name) and they said "It's over there." I proceeded to tell them it was curbside, "YEAH, its over there."- no apology for the curbside order they never planned to actually bring curbside or anything. And they were short with an attitude about it when I mentioned it was curbside. Right as I'm about to leave with my order, I tell them my food is leaking. LOL this makes me laugh because the employee proceeds to argue "NO, IT'S NOT." Honestly, you're going to argue without looking. So, I show it to her- "Oh, ok.", is all she says. She replaces it after another 15 minutes of waiting and I ask her if I can get a bag because it's the food, utensils, salsa, and I don't want to have to hold it on my lap on the drive home. She says nothing, and gives me the bag. She won't even package it for me. I've worked in a restaurant; it paid my way through college, and I absolutely never had the huevos to act like that with anyone. I normally would give the benefit of the doubt, the way I did when I figured they were too busy to bring me my food (and they were not) and think "maybe she's having a bad day?" but it wasn't just her, it was the other male employee as well. Maybe I'm old fashioned for believing employers actually held employees accountable back then and don't now because these people behind the counter were too comfortable and too brave to not bring someone their food in a timely manner and argue with a customer. If you're not going to bring the food curbside, don't offer it. You lost my business today. Hold your employees to a higher standard.

Google
This place was exceptional!! The torta was great! Meat was tender, bread was soft with the crusted cheese on it, the sauces were spicy with great flavor. My daughter's tacos were "the best she's ever had." The chips are great and thick, real homemade tortilla chips not out of a bag. We were hoping it would be good it far out did our expectations and the environment sitting out on the lawn at the pearl just adds to the experience! We'll definitely come here again.

Yelp
The Pearl is a great spot and Chilaquil make reasonable tacos. Out of towners will love them, locals know you can find better. The prices are a bit steep. You can eat inside in the AC or find a spot outside and enjoy the ambiance of the Pearl.

Oscar T.

Yelp
Fantastic food! We were visiting from Miami, and our family took us to this food hall for lunch in The Pearl district. The wife and I decided to order some tacos from Chilaquil .... WOW! So good!! So much flavor!! The entire district, plus the food hall, has a great vibe, and we really enjoyed our visit. I hope to come back again someday and eat here again

Lydia N.

Yelp
This is my go-to quick bite at the Pearl, if I have my toddler with me. Can't beat their $3.50 bean & cheese kid's taco. My kiddo loves it and it's more satisfying than a croissant. Love that they have blue corn tortillas here too (kiddo is a flour tortilla kid though)

Gustavo R.

Yelp
TLDR: Authentic tasting chilaquiles! You can't go wrong. Just a lil pricey (thanks, Pearl) The Pearl's foodhall has many options, so it was a difficult choice; however, we didn't regret making it Chilaquil! Chilaquil - named for its chilaquiles - is absolutely delicious and authentic! You can choose different spice levels for your chilaquiles - AND they have much more! Including (rosa de) Jamaica! You have lots of options that will remind you of home! - At least, for me it did.

Carree W.

Yelp
Ordered Carne Asada Street Tacos and it was delish! It came with red and green salsa. I only tried the green one - still spicy for me, but I ate it anyway because it was good! Service was really fast - got my food right away. This one is located inside the Food Court at the Pearl. Tried the Campechano taco from my friend and it was good too!

Christina T R.

Yelp
This is in the Pearl in front of the splash pad. We ordered a drink from here to go with our food. I got a Jamaica and my friend got an horchata, both 16 ounces. It was delicious and cold. Not overly sugared and didn't taste artificial. They do not take cash, card or digital wallet only. In a food court setting.

Yelp
SAN ANTONIO, TX 78215 / MEXICAN / 12-31-23 / LUNCH +The chilaquiles was delicious! +The little ones enjoyed their tacos; they were seasoned and cooked well. What we ordered: 1 bean & chees taco $3.50 1 carne asada taco $4.50 1 verdes chilaquile with shredded chicken $11.00 1 large horchata $7.00 Total: $30.86 post-tax

Nancy M.

Yelp
The food hall is always a great place to grab a bite and chilaquil never disappoints. The tricky part is finding a table but tonight we got lucky. We ordered chilaquil online and got a text when our order was ready for pick up, beats standing in line. We love their tacos. Today I decided to try a new to me item, the asada quesadillas. They were great. Their horchata is so good too. Their salsas are tasty and spicy. Definitely try the orange one!

Connie K.

Yelp
Chilaquil is located in the Bottling Department Food Hall. We came on a Saturday afternoon for lunch and it was CROWDED to say the least. Thankfully we were able to snag a table as a group was leaving. There was a long line to order and it also took a while for the food to come out. I ordered the rojos chilaqiles with steak (tortilla chips topped off with Mexican cream, fresco cheese, pickled red onion, avocado, and cilantro, served with a side of black beans). Although this was the mildest out of the three salsas it was spicier than expected and hubby took one bite and couldn't continue. The steak was good but the salsa overpowered the rest of the ingredients. My child had the quesadilla (tortilla filled with melted cheese cut in four pieces with a side of avocado, onion, and cilantro). There were four pieces and she was only able to eat two (granted she was devoured a bunch of snacks on the car ride). We shared a large horchata and it disappeared in no time.

Yelp
You can never go wrong with Chilaquil! My family and I were hanging out at The Pearl and were looking for something easy to grab for breakfast. I checked on Yelp and noticed Chilaquil was open and decided to check out their menu. Let me start by saying that their menu is packed with so many Mexican food classics. From tacos, to tortas and breakfast tacos, they cater to all types of diets. I love that you can also choose the type of tortilla or if you want to make a dish keto. My mom went with the chilaquiles with poblano and chicken. I had the al pastor tacos with cheese (I believe they are called gringa), and we also got some breakfast tacos for my little one. The ordering process was super easy, and once the food is ready they text you to your phone. The food came out pretty quickly and everything was absolutely amazing. We all loved our dishes and was exactly what we were looking for. Please note they have a 10% off when you check-in on their Yelp page which I absolutely forgot to take advantage of. Muchas gracias por la comida Chilaquil! Can't wait to come back and try something new.

Celeste C.

Yelp
Went yesterday again & they have KETO tacos!!!! Way better than the regular tacos, this will be my go to.

Lindsey H.

Yelp
You're gonna wait 28 minutes for a taco that is mid. Better to go to a real taqueria; not one that caters to beige tourists.

Sierra S.

Yelp
The food is okay. Nothing special and over priced compared to every other place in San Antonio. They take FOREVER to serve the food. I went outside to order something from one of the vendors it took 5-10 mins max for the fried rice and dumplings My Fiance ordered 10 minutes before I went outside and we are still here waiting 30 mins later. chilaquiles does not take that long to make.. Better off going someplace else that can give you truly authentic food and better service

Camille F.

Yelp
Good tacos. The food court is very cute-sy. Great for a quick lunch on a shopping day. Packaging is very aesthetic. They give you the option for different tortillas when ordering tacos. I would recommend the corn but I'm sure they're all great. Staff was friendly but service is minimal with this concept. They text you when your order is ready.

Jonathan K.

Yelp
Located in the Food Hall at Pearl Brewery, with some nice AC for a hot summer day. They are literally named "Chilaquil," so I was happy that their Chilaquiles are good! Ordered the Chicken Salsa Verde Chilaquiles. Quite delicious and filling! Chips are cripsy, and they give plenty of queso fresco to go with it. Salsa Verde is refreshing and delicious as well. Only problem is that chicken was a little dry, although they give quite a bit of meat. Maybe the other meat options are better. Reasonably priced as well, especially for good portion sizes. Maybe get this plus one other item from another store, and good to share with 2 people!

Maira B.

Yelp
For a place name CHILAQUIL, it has the WORST I've tasted. Drenched in salsa even though requested to have light sauce. The smallest fried egg possible for an additional $1.50. The smallest amount of sour cream and old black beans. Never will I order that again. Rude staff that seem not to care about customer service since they stay busy. Blue corn Pirata tacos were tasty. Check out my review on google where they tried to tell me that authentic chilaquiles come drenched in salsa and no sour cream... I clearly asked for LIGHT salsa because I didn't want a soup, which they became. Black beans aren't authentic to my Mexican culture but we're used for this recipe. Regardless do better. Clowns.

Angela M.

Yelp
Be careful and check your receipts for overcharging on drinks. I was charged for two, but when I raised the issue, I was dismissed with the assurance that it would be refunded in three business days. The customer service was dismissive and savage, trying to brush off my concern without proof. So, I stood my ground until I received tangible evidence. Additionally, telling me how I should feel about my hard-earned money is also unacceptable.

Melanie S.

Yelp
The Matamoros tacos here are amazing!! It comes with beef, avocado, and fresco cheese. I was impressed with the size and quantity of the tacos which were hefty. They didn't skimp on any of the filling. The restaurant is counter pick up in the food hall at the Pearl and ordering is very easy either face to face or on a tablet. The food came out quickly and I really enjoyed the food, the only comment would be the price but based on the location and quality I would say it's worth it if you're around the Pearl for a nice lunch in a hurry.

Angelina I.

Yelp
We waited for a veryyyy long time after ordering. By the time we got our food, our friends who ordered from other spots in the food hall were already finished eating. The chilaquiles were good, but not worth the long wait.

Deadra B.

Yelp
This place is ridiculously over priced and sloooww!!! It took about 40 minutes for two tiny tacos. Save your money, go to a real Mexican restaurant. These tacos are $6 each for mid level

Diana G.

Yelp
Located inside the pearls food hall. You order at the counter and they will text when ready. I had to get the chilaquiles. They do also have tacos. The chilaquiles come with your choice of salsa. I chose the green. I added nopalitos. The portion was definitely big. The crispy tortilla chips were topped with chunks of fresh avocado, fresh Mexican cheese, refried beans, salsa, pickled onions and cilantro. It was tasty and satisfying. The food hall has tables inside and out. Parking is either in the garage, under the highway or street. They do now charge for parking, but the day I went, the garage was free for the first two hours. The wait for our food was a long, but we did go on a day when the Pearl was having an event.

Sandra S.

Yelp
Never had a corn tortilla taste so good!!! The cheese is the first layer on the tortilla and it's grilled. Then the meat and avocado and cilantro. I am leery of corn tortillas. So I don't just eat anybody tortillas. People love flour tortillas and I can no longer enjoy them. So when I find places with good ones, I will keep coming back. I had the Gringa tacos which were amazing. The service is fast and friendly. I really enjoyed them and will definitely come back again.

Kayleigh Q.

Yelp
The food here always tastes so authentic and their chips and salsa are seriously addictive!

Teresa L.

Yelp
Food was great. What was not that great was their customer service. They were refusing to honor their Yelp coupon until I mentioned that I would just add it to my review, then I received a one time curtesy discount. Then when I asked for a second plate to share my chipotle chilaquiles with my daughter they informed me that they do not give out extra plates because it affects their inventory. Again, food was great, we had the appetizer quesadilla, chipotle chilaquiles with beans and a piña culada drink. Restaurant is super cute.

Victoria P.

Yelp
I don't get the hype. Overrated. Overpriced. Tiny portion sizes. I guess it's trendy because it's at the Pearl. Tacos were tinnyyyy. I couldn't even taste the salsas on the chilaquiles. My "over easy egg" was fried. No runny yolk....Idk...it's not for me. Everything was very generic. I get my chilaquiles from Tlahco! That place is legit!

Sarah V.

Yelp
Good food. Had the chilaquiles and they were tasty. Didn't take no pic because was hungry

Kirstin B.

Yelp
SO GOOD. Highly recommend the Carne Asada Tacos. Conveniently located inside Food Hall at the Pearl! My friend got the Al Pastor Street Tacos

Jessica M.

Yelp
Menu needs to read smashed avocado and not guacamole Perfect if looking for some bland avocado for your infant

Mariana T.

Yelp
Decided to try this new place at The Pearl food hall and I wasn't that impressed to be honest. The staff were so nice but the food was okay. I got the chicken tacos and I was not a big fan. I felt like the chicken was missing some flavor, which made the whole taco taste a little bland. If it weren't for the avocado and hot sauce I added they would of had no flavor. I feel like the place has potential, and maybe next time I go I'll try the carne asada tacos instead. Overall, the food wasn't terrible but it lacked flavor which was a bummer.

Michael H.

Yelp
Excellent! Small, fast and tasty! My wife and I had two keto options. The carne asada and the pirata. Both were very good! The salsa was very good. We both said we'd definitely eat here again. It's at the Pearl and you can take your meal out and have a nice little picnic in the common area or at a table.

Gaetano M.

Yelp
I ordered the pastor torta; I will say this was one of the best tortas I've ever had. The meat was perfect, the bread was incredibly fresh. I need more of this in my life.

Krista C.

Yelp
Delicious tacos and great value. I found them to also be SUPER filling so just FYI. I ordered the campechanos tacos with blue corn tortillas so my plate came with 3 tacos. Should have only eaten 2 bc after eating all 3 I was SO full. They are pretty heavy full of pork and beef and had like...fried cheese in them I think. The salsas are super tasty as well but watch out for the orange - she's spicy! Their corn I. A cup is also fantastic - great flavor and includes some Mexican spice.

Tiger B.

Yelp
Service and ambience are good. We got a table outside in the shade it patio. I think the tacos look appealing. I don't think it takes 10 minutes to make tacos in the Pastore tacos are average at best. The strawberry Horchata was delicious.

Sheldon A.

Yelp
Set in the food hall of the Pearl district, it's just a simple stand that serves delicious food. I had a really hard time deciding between tacos and a torta. I eventually chose the torta and do not regret it at all. The orange salsa is pretty hot but had good flavor, I preferred the green salsa. The only reason I would rate this place a 4 instead of a 5 was because the size of the torta was a little small for $13. I still highly recommend it and will go back.

Jennifer D.

Yelp
I had the Al Pastor tacos and they were pretty tasty. I really liked their salsas, they added great flavor to the tacos!

Josiah G.

Yelp
I had the asada torta, and it was pretty good. The bread was soft, and the food portion was pretty good. The sandwich is a little pricey, but that is probably because it's in the Pearl. Moose Out

Myranda K.

Yelp
My friend and I ordered chilaquiles. I got the barbacoa which came with pickled onions and avocados; yum! My friends came with corn; jealousy. I loved the crunch of the chips. The portions were generous, but it wasn't a cheap meal. Ordered chips and salsa and wasn't a fan of the salsa.

Jen R.

Yelp
Coming from San Diego and, oh yeah, being Mexican, I sort of feel the right to be a little judgy when it comes to tacos. Considering this is in what they call a "Food Hall", my expectations weren't very high. However, never judge a book by its cover, these tacos are legit! And, much more affordable than the other dining options at The Historic Pearl District. 5 street tacos modified with black beans, avocado, shredded chicken, cilantro and garnished with lime definitely hit the spot.

L E.

Yelp
Very good Al Pastor street tacos! With peppers and grilled onions, the sauce has a nice kick to it! Love the choice of various tortilla options.

Brittany G.

Yelp
I've tried Chilaquil at a couple of pop ups but finally got to head down to the pearl to really try them out. The blue corn tortillas were really reeeeally good although slightly cold by the time I got them and the Barbacoa (only sold on Sundays) was very tasty! I will say, if you are visiting on a Sunday, be prepared to wait for your food as they are pretty busy with the farmers market traffic and foot traffic in general. Despite any of this, I would definitely try them again and again since I haven't had a bad tasting meal yet.

Meredith W.

Yelp
Tacos are pricey but worth it- they load them with tasty meat, cheese, avocados, and sautéed onions. The house chips and beans are worth getting if you go. I can also attest to the deliciousness of the queso. This is my go to place because the kids can play in the grass or fountains while you eat. There's something for everyone here.

Kelli D.

Yelp
The food hall is a neat atmosphere. Chips, guacamole and tacos were a good snack as we weren't looking for a huge meal. You do have to buy drinks at the separate bar, but it's just across the room. There are board and card games in a corner cabinet- we enjoyed playing games after we ate.

Liz N.

Yelp
Customer service: Excellent! They love their customers. Food: delicious! I had the blue corn campechanos and a cup of corn and it was delicious! Red/orange salsa was my favorite. Ambiance: it is located in food court at Pearl and it gets noisy in there but totally worth it.

Emily A.

Yelp
Chilaquil has such delicious street tacos. Great service and in such a convenient and beautiful location!

Caitlin T.

Yelp
READ BEFORE BUYING CARNE ASADA. I have to say I'm super sad about how bad Chilaquil has gotten. Normally, the carne asada street tacos are delicious- but the last time I went, my mom noticed immediately that the meat was not good, had hard chunks and very tough. At first I was skeptical, I nearly vomited across the table when I found pieces of what looked like heart valves or intestines or arteries- I have no idea what meat they are serving, but it is not top sirloin and it is certainly not carne asada. Update: Brought the piece of cow valve to the employees and they went back with a flashlight to check the rest of the meat. Came back to me and confirmed that ALL OF THE CARNE ASADA MEAT WAS BAD, and that they were calling their own supplier to get a refund for the meat! They supposedly were given mysterious steak that was not top sirloin (which is what they advertise on their sign), but did not notice that they were serving nasty ground up God knows what to naive unknowing customers. I feel bad that this could lead to bad business for the restaurant, but we MUST hold restaurants to a higher standard when it comes to the ingredients they use. Anyone with eyes could tell that the meat was disgusting, and if you could easily confirm within a few seconds of checking then clearly there was no regard on part of the employees for the poor customers who ended up eating it. If you can't afford meat that does not contain heart valves and arterial tissue, and if you're willing to serve mystery meat to whoever will pay, then maybe you shouldn't be allowed to be a restaurant. It's just not right and I still feel sick to my stomach.

Glow S.

Yelp
I wanted to like this place the first time I visited The Pearl I didn't get a chance to try the tacos this time on my trip to SA I made a trip The Pearl and had to try them. I ordered the tacos and was disappointed the tortillas were not warm they were cracked on the bottom. The asada was the only meat that was good. The others not so much and the price point is expensive for a meal that's not worth the price.

Jessika Y.

Yelp
Decent prices here and pretty popular on a weekend night. I'd recommend the Al pastor tacos I would not recommend the cupped corn. The horchata here is also a favorite. Enjoy !

Ashley H.

Yelp
I love their shredded chicken tacos!! I haven't tried anything else on the menu because they are so good and I only want to order them every time!

Myrna U.

Yelp
This place has been on my list to try for a while now. I got the three blue corn tacos with chips for a work lunch. There was so. much. chicken!! The chicken was only a bit just a tiny bit bland but they gave me an orange and green salsa which added a more flavorful and bit spicy taste. I love blue corn chips and their blue corn tortilla was great! I didn't get many chips but I think it is because it was a to go/grub hub order and the box it cam it was mostly taken up by the tacos. Doesn't matter since the main focus was the tacos! Chips were homemade and crunchy. Nicely paired with the salsa or breaking up into the taco for some texture. Definitely will try again
