Chilispot - Review - Northwest Columbus - Columbus - The Infatuation

"Kenny Centre, best known as a destination for Japanese groceries and sushi, is also where you’ll find the best spicy Sichuan food in Columbus. The fish is a major highlight, whether deep fried—the Storm Fish Fillet served with chilis, peanuts, and Sichuan peppercorns—or floating in a bright red pond of spicy and numbing chili oil broth. There are plenty of good vegetarian options (tender-crisp, dry-fried string beans) and Sichuan classics like beef in chili oil, kung pao, and a cold noodle that offers a refreshing break from all the fire elsewhere. For those who are sensitive to spice, the restaurant will be happy to adjust your order to a more manageable heat level. If you dine early enough, grab dessert next door at Belle’s Bread, a Japanese bakery known for its pretty cakes, soft serve ice cream, and matcha lattes." - Erin Edwards

Google
We ordered the twice-cooked pork, spicy boiled beef, and dry-fried green beans — all of them were absolutely delicious!

I visited here on a Saturday during dinnertime with a group of 4 people there was no wait. 😁 We were promptly seated and had plenty of time to review the menu with no rush. There are sooo many options to pick from. I love the beautiful photos of the food on the menu! The prices are incredibly affordable. We picked several different things to try, and everything was wonderful! I loved the cucumber salad, in particular. 🥒 It was so fresh and crisp. We would love to visit here again and try even more food. 🤩

Google
We dined this evening! I LOVE the food, service and overall atmosphere. We had the chili fish, green beans, egg rolls, cucumber salad and ribs. Of course, we ate and took quite a bit home. We will be back. AUTHENTIC regional Chinese food for the soul. BEST since I visited restaurants Chinatown Los Angeles 8 years ago.

Google
We visit this restaurant twice a week, and every dish is delicious. Today we had beef offal pot, highly recommended! The dish is enough for two persons, perfect for winter! It’s a bit spicy, with a unique, aromatic flavor. You really have to try it, especially during the winter.

Andrea W.

Google
Surprised to find such good spicy Chinese food here, pretty authentic. Came here with a friend and we had dan dan noodles, cumin lamb, and water-boiled numbing fish. All the flavors were great, and the dishes came with rice which I wasn't expecting. Really happy eating it all, spices were great and very flavorful, sufficiently spicy. Would definitely recommend! Prices are a bit high, bill came out to be around $55 including tax, but it was a lot of food!

Google
Wonderful little place! The ban ban noodles and tea were delicious. I loved the seasoning on the Szechuan fries, but the texture was a bit off. I’m definitely excited to go again and try more items.

Google
Their food is comparable to food that you’ll find in China. They have very good flavors here. Tofu in golden egg sand is delicious, it’s fried Japanese tofu tossed in a salty egg yolk sauce. The whole fish is good, there’s 3 flavors you can pick from and there’s plenty of veggies in the bottom. Spare ribs were alright. Fermented cabbage fish is good! The garlic eggplants are very good too. Spicy dumplings, one of the best in town! Water cooked beef, it tasted a little bland and feels like it was missing something.

Sam M.

Google
Ordered Braised Shanghai Green (bok-choy) with mushroom and spicy Sauted Cabbage. The taste and aroma of peppercorn was excellent, the vegetables were lightly Sauted and you can enjoy the crunch taste of the vegetables. A must for every food connoisseurs who are looking for vegetable dish in an Oriental cuisine.

Yelp
It's been a little while since my last Chilispot visit and I'm happy to report it's just as good! We came on a Friday early dinner and it wasn't busy at all - zero wait to be seated and very quiet. We were greeted and seated quickly and service was very friendly. As we were hungry, we took a mi Ute to decide what to order. We had planned on storm fish, but made a last minute decision to Sichuan sliced beef (we loveeee a numbing pepper!) with starts of egg roll and spicy wontons. Seriously those wontons are one of the best things in the whole city. They're SO good I could eat a few orders of those alone and be happy. Egg rolls are nice, but just a simple egg roll. Nicely crispy and tasty with the spicy mustard. The Sichuan sliced beef was the perfect thing for a chilly rainy dinner. We love spicy so I'm a bad judge of heat level, but this is spicy but a numbing spicy. Lovely spooned over steamed rice. The cabbage and bean sprouts were my favorite bits in this dish because they added a crunch. Might ask for extra next time!

Yelp
Best spicy wontons I've ever had. (And I've been to many Chinese restaurants.) Recommend the mapo tofu and spicy wontons

Yelp
My first time here. Walking in you notice how exceptionally clean the restaurant is. We did not wait long at all to be seated. There are 10 booths that line the wall and 10 tables down the center. The seats are very comfortable. There is plenty of lights in order to see the extra large menu that looks more like a coloring book. The women who took our order had problems understanding English from the looks of it. One person at my table wanted to exchange rice for noodles but she didn't seem to understand. The food was very good but a bit expensive but worth it. Because they give you plenty. We had to take some home with us. I would go back to Chilispot they did a great job in service and in taste.

Yelp
Came in close to their closing time and were seated and served immediately (understandably.) Ordered cumin beef and a prawn/chicken dry pot. I liked how they gave a generous portion of rice for the table. We knew this was a szechuan place and were expecting that numbing spice, but we agreed that the spice level here was still beyond what we were expecting, especially with the cumin beef. The flavors were great overall. Still on the pricier side (about $20 a dish) with very average portion sizes.

Yelp
Chilispot is so delicious! The dishes are packed with flavor and there is truly something for anyone. The service was also good! I recommend this place if you're craving Chinese and want a little bit of spice!

Yelp
It's been a minute since our last visit and I can say the taste and quality of food is still the same. Service is great and we are greeted by the nicest Chinese ladies. You have to be patient with communication but they never get frustrated. They also have this new Sichuan bowl that I haven't tried yet as I wasn't sure if it was hotpot or what-it says no broth but you get to pick meat and veggies like in a hotpot. Ambiance is still the same-quiet and pretty relaxing especially since we went on a Thursday afternoon

Yelp
I got to visit Chilispot for lunch and it was great! It's located in the Japan Market Place, which has a variety of different businesses. The restaurant was spick and span when we arrived and we got seated quickly. I loved the storm fish filet! I was expecting one piece of fish but it came in nugget like slices, so good. The honey walnut shrimp was also tasty, I liked the glaze on top. I also had an eggroll, I believe there was chicken inside and I enjoyed it as well. Our server also quite attentive and kept our glasses full. I wish they had a few more veggie based options, but I'd definitely stop by to try more dishes.
google avatar

Sadie B.

Yelp
delicious food! only about 3 vegetarian options so I chose the eggplant and it was absolutely delicious! my friends loved their food too. the storm fish had a good spice to it. super friendly service and modern, clean restaraunt!
google avatar

Douglas G.

Yelp
Unbelievable. Services was friendly and fast, the menu incredibly expansive and everything was delicious. We probably ordered too much but it gave us a chance to try everything. Egg rolls were great and the pot stickers were spot on. We had the green beans which were flavorful and perfectly prepared. Be warned on ordering; know your spice level. We got the popcorn chicken at a level 1 (just right) and the fish at a level 2 (had me sweating quite a bit). The flavors really popped. Sesame chicken was great, not your standard version from a regular Chinese place.
google avatar

Lavita M.

Yelp
Amazing! The lamb was phenominal, a bit costly but worth it! Beware. There are a lot of chillies, be sure to ask for a reduction if you can't handle lots of spice.

Yelp
We are frequent customers for their location in St. Louis and took our friends in Columbus to eat at this location. This is a smaller restaurant in a shopping strip malls. Great foods and services. We love fried green beans, fried fish fillets, and stir fried beef. Not a fancy restaurant but it is the type that you can come everyday either by yourself or in small/large group.

Yelp
While I'm not much of a spicy fan, two of my friends love the heat, so I suggested we meet at ChiliSpot for lunch. Our service was quick and both ladies serving us were pleasant with a smile. I went safe and got their pork egg rolls and cucumber salad. One friend got their Mapo Tofu, the other went with their Kung Pow Chicken and a bowl of spicy pork wontons in chili oil. My egg rolls were good, tasted rather fresh, not the frozen kind; all-round good flavor. Loved the cucumber salad! The thick cut cucumber was fresh and the rice vinegar (?) was lite and yet enough to coat the veggies leaving a great cooling sensation to my mouth. Two thumbs up. I did try one of the chili oil pork wonton, and I was surprised I was able to tolerate the small bit of heat; I will admit I didn't dunk the dumpling, so take my statement at your own risk. I love southeast Asian "spicy", as you can taste all the flavors of the food BEFORE you feel the slow build of heat. It's nothing like your boring Tex-Max "spicy" where your entire mouth is on fire and you can taste a darn thing! My friends love their dishes, both commenting we should definitely come back and try more on the menu that has even more spice. Yikes! ;D

Yelp
My husband and I came across this restaurant when we needed to kill some time at the BMV right around the corner. The restaurant was quiet and clean, service was quick and friendly. We ordered way too much food but it was all delicious. My husband had the boiling spicy fish and is still raving about it! The wontons and eggplant were delicious! My spare ribs were meaty and had great flavor. 10/10

Yelp
Fantastic service, fantastic authentic Chinese food, reasonable price. The staff is very friendly and more than willing to explain everything. Great ambiance. I gave it 4 of 5 stats only because the empty dishes were not removed when we finished and although the spicy beef was super delicious and I would order it again, it had Mexican chilis and cilantro in it

Yelp
It's ok. Nothing special. Rice was good. Might go back if convenientbut won't go out of my way.

Yelp
Great option especially if you like mala flavored spicy food! The fried chicken or fish with hot pepper is a must if you like that crunchy fried texture with a kick. It's just the right amount of spicy and the roasted peanuts add a nice nutty flavor to the dish If you like dumplings, then definitely try their steamed dumplings in chili oil. It's one of the less spicy options and a pretty good deal for the price. The spicy boiled fish is also one of my favorites! The fish is so soft and there's plenty of garlic, scallions, bean spouts, and other veggies to mix with rice. The portion is also really generous so you can share with friends! The mapo tofu is also really good but beware because the Mala flavor is really strong so your mouth will tingle! Service is really quick and there is plenty of seating indoors. It's definitely a good place to come with a group so you can share a family style meal!

Yelp
I visited with my partner and their friends for dinner. I ordered the mopu tofu and my partner ordered the popcorn chicken. We had recently tried Szechuan food so we had a good idea of how this place should have compared. The tofu was silky so hard to eat. The food itself was not spicy at all even though it had two pepper signs and there was an abundant taste of ginger. As a vegetarian, I had this, eggplant, green beans and the fries as my ONLY options throughout the entire menu. Overall, our group thought the food was average and no one is going to come back. Portions are large and you pay for it but I would recommend going to a Thai place that would be more flavorful and has similar serving sizes.

Yelp
Absolutely amazing!!! I can't get enough of their food. Service is great! The location is very clean and cool.

Yelp
We had an amazing meal for Chinese new year. We had dinner for two - we got egg rolls and potstickers to start. For dinner we got the chefs special beef vegetable dish and my partner got the beef tripe broth bowl (super spicy). It was very delicious and flavorful. We could taste either jasmine or lavender in the sauce too. All dishes come with a big bowl of white steamed rice. For dessert we tried the pan friend sticky rice cakes that come with brown sugar. It was really interesting but good!! Overall this is a very unique Chinese restaurant!!
google avatar

Yelp
Authentic Chinese food here. Hundreds of dishes to choose from but I only came for the salt and pepper popcorn chicken. Seemed like every table had ordered some version of the popcorn chicken. Really enjoyed it. Would like to see a popcorn chicken option with a general Tso's dipping sauce on the side. Also had a spicy chicken dish as well as the Szechuan wontons. A little spicy for us, but the wontons were on point.

Yelp
Came here for Lunar New Years and they offered a spin of their wheel for rewards. We ended up with 30% off. That was a cool surprise. The food here was amazing! The storm fried fish fillets are a must order. The fish is deboned, crunchy, and flavorful. Their other items are good as well but the fish is the must order. Service was a little slow with refilling waters but because they were very friendly so I can overlook that and chalk it up to being busy.
google avatar

Yelp
Wow! I was really impressed with Chilispot. We came here on a Saturday evening and were able to be seated immediately. Service was incredible and the staff were very attentive. I loved all the dishes we tried, but I will say my favorites were the green beans and the salt and pepper chicken. I would come back solely for to have these dishes again. Truly authentic Chinese food is hard to find, and I think this place has mastered it
google avatar

Carla F.

Yelp
I am so glad we came across this place. Chilispot has some of the best food with affordable prices. We just keep coming back for more! When you first walk in, there is a counter for to go orders. The restaurants is also decorated with plants. If you are eating in, they will walk you over to a booth or table in the next room. They have so many selections on their menu but some of my favorites appetizers are their egg rolls (crunchy with the right amount of filling) & their spicy wontons. We have also tried a variety of their entrees and have liked everything we have tried. Their spice level is just the right amount and everything has been seasoned perfectly.

Yelp
First time here with family. Had reservations which I highly recommend. Service was excellent and atmosphere was very nice. Menu had very beautiful pictures of some dishes. We ordered egg rolls, orange chicken, salt/pepper chicken, General Tho chicken, fresh green beans and popcorn chicken for Sophia ( which she really liked). Needless to say we had plenty of leftovers for everyone to enjoy!

Yelp
My rating is NOT for the food or service. Had mapo doufu and it's the best restaurant version I've had outside China. Very well spiced, balanced spicing and full of that addictive ma-la flavor. Excellent. My issues is that I had my credit card number stolen just a couple hours after leaving this place. They placed a charge for $500+ but luckily my bank let me know right away. Just putting the word out that someone in this place swipes card info. The female server that handled my card was asian of some type, short, a bit chubby with glasses. Beware!

MQ S.

Yelp
This place was shockingly disappointing. My husband and I went there for Chinese New Year dinner, it was our first time. When I asked for recommendations, the lady just said, "Please look at your menu," which felt super rushed and unhelpful. She also made a stereotypical comment to my husband, assuming he wouldn't like the pig feet because it was " spicy and had too many bones." He loves Chinese food and eats it all the time. He can actually handle more spice than I can! The worst part was the food. It was the worst Szechuan I've ever had. Everything was bland and served lukewarm. The beef in our chili and sour soup was pink and undercooked, and the boiling fish dish was barely warm. Neither dish was spicy at all, just super bland. The chili oil dumplings didn't taste right either. Overall, it was a really unpleasant experience. Not sure if it was because we got there right before the kitchen closed (we had called ahead, and they asked us to come), but everything felt rushed. The food was by far the worst. Def not coming back.

Nick D.

Yelp
The food and service here are great. The interior of the restaurant is nice. They bring out white rice to go with your meal, and they also asked if we would like any condiment. We picked chili oil. It was aromatic. I got the ribs, my mom got non-spicy chicken, and my dad got spicy chicken. The ribs were extremely flavorful and spicy. I had chili oil all over my mouth and fingers after finishing them. The only fault i found was that the food could be bland if you ask them to remove the sauce. My mom did this, but it was quickly fixed by adding the sauce back to it. If you get bland food here, you are doing something wrong. If you like spicy food, check this place out. It is relatively expensive (around $18 per plate), but worth a visit if you are in the area. The plates are also filling and could easily be split or shared.

Yelp
Just amazing. I've heard about this spot many times, and finally made a slight detour to get here. There is so much on the menu I'd like to try. I went with the stirfried vermicelli and minced pork, a chef's special, because I love vermicelli, and pork, and heat. Mildly spicy, although that did build up the more you eat. Flavorful, interesting combination of textures, absolutely delightful. Served with a huge bowl of good sticky rice. They also give you a small bowl; I think the idea is to put some rice and your entrée into that bowl, but trying to transfer the vermicelli seemed problematic, so I just put rice in the big bowl. I also got the dry fried green beans on Marya's recommendation. They are actually an entrée, not an appetizer, so it was a big portion, but that was fine since I had leftovers for lunch later at work. Fresh (I had seen them prepping green beans when I came in so I figured that.) Bits of bacon on top, not dry dry, just sautéed in oil. Excellent. At least slightly healthy, to go with my noodles and pork. Service was good, the place is clean and nicely decorated. But the food is the draw. Oh man, is it the draw. I'll be back.
google avatar

Craig B.

Yelp
BEWARE: when this place says their food is spicy, they frickin' mean it! I'm a total chilihead, and it made me sweat. I don't like the numbing effect of schezuwan peppercorns, and they have plenty of dishes without it. I got the chili with red and green peppers. HOT as advertised, but delicious.
google avatar

Christina D.

Yelp
If you already know that you like Sichuan cuisine, you should absolutely come here. Online ordering was really easy, although there are no descriptions with the actual menu items, so you sort of have to know what you're getting already. My order was ready at the requested time, and service was quick and friendly. Sadly, it appears that I do not like Sichuan cuisine all that much. The sweet-and-sour ribs were quite good and flavorful, but having to pick out bones and some gristle isn't my favorite thing. The sauce went well with the rice that I also ordered, but the rice is a little too sticky for me? I wonder if they use something more like sushi rice, and that's not really how I like my takeout Chinese. Overall, this is probably a great place for someone else. It just sadly isn't for me.

Yelp
I think Chilispot has one of the best Chinese foods in Columbus. I come here all the time but finally decided to write a review. The last time I came here was on Thursday (12/29) at around 8PM. There are always lots of people eating here but there are also a lot of seating here so I don't think I've ever waited for seats. My friends and I ordered Chongqing Popcorn Chicken and Mapo tofu. Food always comes out pretty quickly. However, I must say, the dishes are priceyyy but have pretty good portions. I have tried many dishes here but I think my favorite is the Chongqing Popcorn Chicken. It never disappoints. It is very flavorful, a little sweet and spicy. If you cannot handle spiciness well, definitely ask for less spice/peppers. The chicken is crispy and the crispy peanuts are a great addition. The Mapo tofu is good too and kind of tastes like there was black bean sauce in there. My friend couldn't take spice too well but he said the rice that comes with the dishes really helped balance out the flavors. He got extra rice and they didn't charge us for the rice which I think is a plus plus plus.

Yelp
Went for the 1st time today-- Cauliflower Jalapeño stir fry--YUM-- Spicy dumplings--pretty good.. Spicy popcorn chicken--AWFUL--all fried, no chicken--seldom do we leave food uneaten BUT didn't want to feel sick later. Super casual atmosphere.

Yelp
If you're looking for good Sichuan in Columbus then head here. Our go to's have been the mapo tofu (we add meat but that's personal preference), sliced bean curd and pork, and we always make sure to get the dry pot cauliflower. Service is always great and everyone there has been attentive and nice. Get here if you haven't before.
google avatar

Yelp
Absolute favorite Chinese restaurant of mine. Storm fish fillet is my favorite dish. Comes out crispy and spicy and each order you get a good amount of food. We also enjoyed the chongqing chicken which is similar to the storm fillet fish but popcorn chicken. Favorite veggie is definitely the dried fried string beans. The chef special lamb is also nice as well. Service is good. Ambience is nice. Lots of booths and tables available. Parking is a large lot.
google avatar

Croix H.

Yelp
Food was awesome. Service was good but felt really rushed. One of the best Chinese food spots in Columbus. We've probably been here twice in the last month. Try to dumplings and popcorn chicken.
google avatar

Amanda I.

Yelp
Food was delicious, fresh and arrived out so quickly. Service was wonderful; they were adaptable with spice levels and ingredients.

Yelp
The ambiance was decent. I liked the music that was playing. The service was good too but since I ordered takeout I didn't really get a lot of service. What makes my review not so great is the actual food. I saw a TikTok of someone who had gone and the food looked amazing. My wife and I decided to order takeout since we were in the area but didn't want to eat inside. We got the General Tso's and the Kung Pao chicken. Both were labeled as spicy and were priced a little more than I was expecting but I thought the look meant it was going to taste great. Both meals were lacking in a lot of flavor. My General Tso's wasn't even spicy and I even ate all the peppers. The chicken was pretty big, unlike in the Kung Pao. My wife's Kung Pao was more disappointing. Everything in it was not great. The peppers didn't make it spicy, the flavor wasn't there at all, and the chicken looked like it wasn't chicken. I was really hoping to like this place since I don't have a go to restaurant yet but I'm sad to say we might not be back. There were two more items that we wanted to try, but now were too scared to go and try. Sorry for the bad review but I felt like I had to explain this one a little bit.

Yelp
Chilispot is the place to go if you want authentic Chinese food. They have delicious spicy and non-spicy dishes served family style. FOOD: I shared four dishes with my boyfriend and we had more than enough leftovers. We got the Szechuan fried potatoes, chongqing spicy popcorn chicken and Shanghai greens with mushrooms. These dishes were served with rice and all were so flavorful. Szechuan fried potatoes - these were addicting and numbing. We would have loved if they were crispy but the taste totally made up for it. Chongqing spicy popcorn chicken - we'd come back for these again. They're addictively spicy, crispy and nutty. Beware of peanuts if you have a nut allergy. Braised Shanghai greens - this dish was refreshing and a good non-spicy vegetable dish to balance out our dinner. We also got brown sugar rice cakes for dessert. Perfectly warm, chewy, slightly sweet and nutty. VIBE: It's a casual family style restaurant. Good for solo and group dining. Service was also great! Our waiter gave us good recommendations and constantly refilled our waters because we had gulped down a bunch of water after each spicy bite. Overall, I highly recommend coming here for a casual dinner! I definitely will be back to try their hot pot next time.

Yelp
After hearing about this place for ages, I finally decided to give it a shot and what a gem! Mala fanatics rejoice, because this place delivers. The spicy wontons were probably the best I've ever had with incredible flavor and the mapo tofu was silky, spicy, and perfect to warm up on a chilly evening. I definitely look forward to trying more things from the menu, I will be back soon!

Yelp
Fantastic authentic Chinese menu. Very friendly staff. Attentive. Very clean and comfortable. The pepper beef is served on a sizzling cast iron skillet and tastes amazing.

Yelp
It's been a while since I've had good comfort food. I had the ribs and my girlfriend had spicy noodles. It's a little greasy but mainly due to chili oil, which is not a bad thing since we love spice. I highly recommend!

Yelp
I checked out chillispot, this new Chinese place and was pleasantly surprised! I'll always get a mapo tofu at every new Chinese place as a litmus test on the standard and it did not disappoint! The tofu was silky and the sauce really flavorful. They really layered on the spice on the mapo tofu so much so that it overwhelmed the black bean sauce in it, making it more of a spicy Mala tofu rather than a mapo tofu but I like spice so I am not complaining. Why else would I check out a place with Chilli in its name haha. That being said, the thing that I would change would be to add in more black bean paste to make it more balanced but otherwise, it is a really good mapo tofu. The Chinese tea ribs was something really unique on the menu and I just had to try it! I was impressed at how much the tea undertones enhanced the dish and it is a favorite! The kidneys were OK but I really liked how they sautéed with black fungus which is another ingredient not frequently seen and add added a certain earthy sweetness to the dish to balance out the typically acidic kidneys! The shrimp with eggs is good in the sense that the eggs were flavourful and not too dry. If I were to make that dish at home, the eggs would be slightly underdone to have that good old English creamy scrambled egg texture to it but that can't be found in restaurants prolly due to health codes haha. All in all, I think chilispot is one of the top tier Chinese places in cbus and would recommend that you check it out. A lot of their dishes are spicy though so I'll be cautious if you can't take spice well :)

Yelp
Where should i even begin talking about this legendary(for me, why? I will explain) place. Service is fast Photographic menu Servers so helpful that they suggest and recommend Busy but you can always get a table because point #1 Almost everything on the menu is tasty and authentic It was a random find while i was to buy some Japanese food products ans it is now added to the list.

Saurabh G.

Yelp
Hands down the best Mapo Tofu I have had so far, ever. The perfect balance of spices, ginger, garlic and Chinese flavors in an incredible sauce. Also ordered a Chefs Special Stir Fried Chicken - also an excellent preparation. Both were flavorful spicy, but not hot spicy - at least not for my Indian palate. Good ambience and friendly service. Lots of variety, and good portion sizes. This will be my go to places in Columbus, Ohio, whenever my travels bring me here.

Yelp
Got some to-go orders from here for dinner via Uber Eats. The portions don't look very big but it's actually a pretty good amount of food. Also, not super spicy so your friends with milder tastes can still join you! My favorites of the group (where was a difficult pick because all four of these were so good) would probably be the DanDan noodles. They're just the right amount of numbing spice but also super flavorful from the ground pork on top. The wontons in chili oil were also amazing - and a surprisingly large portion! They're the right snackable size and somehow despite you continuing to eat, there's more in the container! Overall, this is definitely gonna be one of my go-to spots for Szechuan food. Super excited to see these places in Columbus!

Yelp
Came here last night for dinner. The table shared a few chicken dishes- orange chicken, general Tso, Szechuan popcorn chicken and salt and pepper chicken. We started with the Szechuan green beans and egg roll. I thought the egg roll was good, nothing special, but good and the green beans were also good. My daughter loved the salt and pepper chicken. I liked the popcorn chicken- I should have asked for it mild. I said mild to medium and it was still super spicy. My complaint was the size of the chicken pieces in both dishes. I thought they were small and mostly batter because of the size. Nothing like the orange chicken and genera tso which had larger more juicy pieces. Service was good.

Yelp
Another Szechuan style Chinese restaurant in the Columbus area. I ordered using DoorDash and everything went quite smoothly. The food itself was outstanding. The Szechuan wanton appetizers were cooked just right and had a good amount of kick to them. The spicy soup noodles with beef brisket was delicious -- I wish I had ordered two! The dry tofu soup lamb spine was not spicy but extremely flavorful and is a very large dish. We also enjoyed their Shanghai greens and black mushrooms which was prepared in a delicious oyster sauce. If you are like me and love Szechuan style food, you'll enjoy Chillispot very much!
