Chilispot - Review - Northwest Columbus - Columbus - The Infatuation

"Kenny Centre, best known as a destination for Japanese groceries and sushi, is also where you’ll find the best spicy Sichuan food in Columbus. The fish is a major highlight, whether deep fried—the Storm Fish Fillet served with chilis, peanuts, and Sichuan peppercorns—or floating in a bright red pond of spicy and numbing chili oil broth. There are plenty of good vegetarian options (tender-crisp, dry-fried string beans) and Sichuan classics like beef in chili oil, kung pao, and a cold noodle that offers a refreshing break from all the fire elsewhere. For those who are sensitive to spice, the restaurant will be happy to adjust your order to a more manageable heat level. If you dine early enough, grab dessert next door at Belle’s Bread, a Japanese bakery known for its pretty cakes, soft serve ice cream, and matcha lattes." - Erin Edwards

I visited here on a Saturday during dinnertime with a group of 4 people there was no wait. 😁 We were promptly seated and had plenty of time to review the menu with no rush. There are sooo many options to pick from. I love the beautiful photos of the food on the menu! The prices are incredibly affordable. We picked several different things to try, and everything was wonderful! I loved the cucumber salad, in particular. 🥒 It was so fresh and crisp. We would love to visit here again and try even more food. 🤩

We dined this evening! I LOVE the food, service and overall atmosphere. We had the chili fish, green beans, egg rolls, cucumber salad and ribs. Of course, we ate and took quite a bit home. We will be back. AUTHENTIC regional Chinese food for the soul. BEST since I visited restaurants Chinatown Los Angeles 8 years ago.

We visit this restaurant twice a week, and every dish is delicious. Today we had beef offal pot, highly recommended! The dish is enough for two persons, perfect for winter! It’s a bit spicy, with a unique, aromatic flavor. You really have to try it, especially during the winter.

Wonderful little place! The ban ban noodles and tea were delicious. I loved the seasoning on the Szechuan fries, but the texture was a bit off. I’m definitely excited to go again and try more items.

Ordered storm fish fillet and cauliflower dry pot, they were delicious. Always quick and friendly service. Last year, they had a spin the wheel event to get discounts for Chinese New Year. Sadly, we didn't see one this year, but maybe because we didn't go the day of.

This is the second time we visited this restaurant. We ordered 2 dishes and white rice and 2 types of dessert. The first one was spicy pork ribs. It came very fast and exceptionally delicious. But we waited too long for the second dish. Way too long! We almost felt full. Luckily, the spicy fish soup was great as well. So, we weren’t upset. But would suggest the restaurant to watch out on the sequence of food served. The dessert dishes were marvelous! Recommend to try if you like authentic Szechuan food. After trying so many places from different states, this is one of the best!

ChiliSpot is one of my favorite Chinese restaurants in Columbus. They serve authentic spicy dishes and fancy American Chinese food. I have been coming here since it was open several years ago when there were few great Chinese restaurants in Columbus. Their dishes bring me memories of good times, even though they have changed their original menu and recipes slightly. Recommend their egg yolk tofu, tea flavor rib, beef soup, and Szechuan spicy dishes. Their service is always friendly and fast. WiFi is fast. Rice is unlimited with entrees. Glad to see ChiliSpot has new locations throughout the country.

I am so glad to be introduced to this place. I love spicy plus exotic dishes, both can be found in this place! Price might be a little high than most but definitely enjoyed the food. Btw, I heard you can request on how high or low the spice level that fits your taste. You should try their spicy and crispy pork intestine!
