The 29 Best Restaurants in Kingston, Jamaica | Eater

"The traditional Jamaican box lunch is a simple takeout lunch, usually consisting of local dishes for a reduced price. But don’t take your box lunch away from Chillin’, where a meal is best enjoyed on the bright and breezy deck. The menu here features island-renowned curry goat from Murray’s Farm (the original location is in Clarendon, about an hour from Kingston), alongside a selection of other traditional dishes like stew peas with pigtail, fried chicken, and oxtail." - Leisha Wong

Went to celebrate my bfs birthday. We ordered appetizers (stated we wanted to eat together) yet my pumpkin soup came and his jerk chicken quesadillas came way after the soup was finished. No complimentary water (when we looked at other tables, no water was observed on their tables either).Food and drinks overall was good... No complaints there (we both had the Murray's curry goat, reggae mix drink and Sunset cocktail). Waitress was polite, however only the delayed with the food. Informed server that it was his birthday, however just to let patrons know we were charged for the sparkled candle ($500.00) in addition to the bread pudding ($1300)- no discounts, no happy birthday writing... Server did tell us prior it would come at a cost... They played a song request for us which was nice. I rated this a 2/5 simply because going to other restaurants where they value celebrants and they also have competitive prices and similar to better ambiance, I expected a higher standard of service and mindfulness especially after having a full course meal. More consideration could have been given. Nonetheless we weren't cheapskates as we still gave over a standard tip.

Customer service was poor. I waited for 10 minutes at the entrance before anyone came and acknowledged my presence. The food was DELAYED! I confirmed my order at 9:40pm but at 11:43 pm I still hadn’t received it. Got my drink though. Heavy rain came and the place flooded out. Tables had to be moved, persons ended up standing, rain was pouring in the building from different points. I most definitely will not return to this establishment. As I type this, I am literally sitting in the restaurant in the conditions described.

I went on a Saturday afternoon for a quick lunch. Upon entering I was greeted by the Hostess and seated in comfort. My Server was great and because I knew what I want I ordered pretty quickly. The drink was great and so was the food. This is a much better experience from my previous one. They have improved a lot with customer service. I was pleased!

Hidden gem. The business sign to the main road is not easily visible until approaching the lot. Open, free parking area for surrounding buildings. Busy atmosphere (large group birthday celebration), but it did not stop/affect the time to be seated (there was little to no wait). Digital menu available. Server took a while to get to our table to take our order, and service to our table was slow. Our menu items came out in reasonable time from placing orders. Good atmosphere. Tasty food!! Thumbs up to a night well spent!

It was ok. Oxtail was good, although the vegetables could have been a little softer for my taste. Roasted sweet potatoes was very good 😋

Found this place on Google and must I say what a gem. I was craving curry goat and as fate would have it when I asked what is the best thing on the menu she said they are known for their curry goat. Everything was really good but the star of the show here was definitely the curry goat perfect amount of spice and flavor.

Curried goat wontons were decent but dry. Really wished they had more curry gravy in them or some moisture on the meat. The sweet chili dip didn’t do much for it. The seafood boil was so spicy it was inedible and we didn’t finish it. Didn’t appreciate the waitress mocking us saying that it’s supposed to be spicy when we mentioned it was inedible due to how intolerable the spice was. Also don’t like that it’s mostly crayfish and crab, two seafood options that aren’t very filling or enjoyable to consume. The mudslide was really good though. I’d get this again. Overall I wouldn’t go back. My friend who ordered the pork also felt sick after eating it and the only other thing that appeals to me here is the Murray’s Curry Goat.

it’s an outdoor space. No AC but there are a few outdoor portable Ac units that blow cool’ish air. The staff had attitude like dat! I swear we were inconveniencing the waitress by choosing to dine there. We had jerk quesadillas , wings w/ fries, chicken tenders w/ fries, braised oxtail w/rice & beans, jerk chicken pasta & bread pudding w/rum. They were all ok ,except the jerk pasta which tasted a little off. It’s pretty pricey which was surprising considering there isn’t an AC’d area and the attitude of the waitresses. It’s a great idea but it needs a better form of cooling the dining area especially for tourists.
