The mint lime drink was pretty good. Quite sweet. Then I got this plate with braised pork with salad, steamed maize these cheese filled mash potato patties. The meat was a tad salty but honestly the other side dishes help cut that salt taste. I do want to come back to try their other dishes and soups.

Adding to my previous post which was also an update... Today their special was Encocado, and it did not disappoint. >> What I said earlier. >> I have been here many times since moving here last year. Today I had their special rack of lamb. Incredible. It ranked as one of the best meals I have ever eaten. It is memorable. Because this place is consistently good, I keep going back. The server was also very attentive and kind.

I came to this location accidentally thinking it was the Minneapolis location (which is the one I usually go to), but i was relieved to find out that the food is just as good here as it is at the other one. I highly recommend the lomo soltado which is staple Ecuadorian dish that comes with lots of side components. My favorite is the encocado with fish, it's served with a creamy coconuty curry. But all the food here is amazing so you can't go wrong. My only complaint is that location is clearly geared towards take-out orders because it's counter service only and it was very hot inside.

Delicious! Self-Service ordering, clean welcoming local place. The coconut, shrimp and scallop dish with rice and plantains was very enjoyable. Staff very friendly and helpful with daily specials!. Thank you!

This is a hidden gem of St.Paul brunch restaurants. Both times we have went, there has been no wait and the food and service was excellent. There is also South American tapestry on the walls and plants.

I had takeout the first time I went. The owner kindly explained what I could expect e.g. flavours, portions etc. Our food came out pretty quickly and when I got home it was good to see that they had been wrapped separately enough that the sauces didn't make the food soggy. I dined in the next time I went. The portions are large enough that even though I ordered an appetizer and a main (sandwich) I was only able to finish the sandwich in the restaurant. I had my sandwich with a glass of dry white wine - the wine paired nicely with my food. For service, you'll have to put your food in the takeout boxes yourself (if you dined in) and you'll get up to get water yourself (I didn't like this bit). The restaurant is kid friendly, people come with their families.

This place is so awesome! We’ve been multiple times, and they consistently delivere incredible food. The service is always very friendly and helpful. It’s not clear when you first go that it’s designed a little differently, you take a menu, sit down, then go up to the counter and order. Once you figure that out, it’s easy! Will continue to eat there and recommend to as many people possible.

Google
The food is good — I’ve had better Ecuadorian food and bigger portions for the price, but it’s alright considering its location. I like ordering from the counter but for a counter-ordering place the four buttons of tip option being 20, 25, 30 and 35% (if I recall correctly) doesn’t really make sense to me.

Yelp
Visited 12/21/24. First visit to Chimborazo was a delight! Big group of us (7 people) and the staff was so accommodating and helpful. Notes for beforehand: you will order at that counter so while they have menus to look at, it wouldn't hurt to look online ahead of time. Also, this location is in the same lot as a Trader Joe's so depending on when you go, I would forego the parking lot and just do street parking instead. Overall, loved this place. Good vibes, portions sizes were gigantic, and everything was flavorful and solid. Some of the things our party ordered included: yuca frita and llapingachos appetizers for the table, churrasco, lomo saltado, Chaulafan, encocado, and the ecuatoriano vegetariano. A few of us also shared a bottle of Pinot Grigio. Prices for the amount of food you get were very reasonable. Highlights: -Encocado! Omg I'm getting this next time I come. My cousin ordered per recommendations from staff with shrimp and it was delightful. Almost like a curry sauce with coconut flavors this was refreshing and delicious. By far my favorite thing I tried. I poached a plantain off of my cousin's plate and this was delicious as well. -Yuca Frita. They cooked this perfectly so it was crisp and it made for a great shareable. -Chaulafan. An Ecuadorian fried rice, this was very flavorful and I enjoyed it. I would maybe consider sharing this and another entree with someone else because it was a lot of food. -My sister's highlight was the muchin de yuca that came with her ecuatoriano vegetariano platter. She said it was well cooked and unique! I will definitely be back, had a great experience with incredibly kind and knowledgeable staff!

Yelp
If you're looking for Ecuadorian food, this is your spot! The churrasco is fantastic! We have tried the seco de pollo, seco de carne, chicken sandwich, hornado, etc. and everything is yummy!

Yelp
The food was really good. I loved the green sauce that came with the Encocado. Parking is a little tight because of Trader Joe's next door.

Yelp
This is a cute place in a little mall. You order at the counter. Water is available as a self serve. We ordered and the food came out fairly quickly. The food is a bit on the high side and the terminal will push for a large tip. The food was great. The taste and look was wonderful.

Yelp
Super excited that Chimbaroza is in our neighborhood- the NE location is one of my favorite restaurants and this location is just as good. I ordered Takeout online and it was easy and quick. Their food is excellent- I ordered Vegetarian soltado with side of plantains. Vegetables cooked in a peppery sauce with a hint of fruitiness. super yummy. The plantains weee cooked to perfection as well. I can't wait to eat in and give a more full review

Yelp
This is a nice place in our neighborhood. The food is very good. Unfortunately the dinner prices are so high that we won't return. If it were more affordable, we would probably go there often.

Yelp
Chimborazo serves one of my favorite dishes in town (llapingachos con chorizo). So I was delighted to learn they opened a St. Paul location. Over by the Trader Joe's, parking kind of sucks. But it's well worth the trip. Unlike the Northeast location, I was sad to learn that llapingachos are not on the daily menu here -- only on weekends. So I got my backup - insalata fresca, which was fresh and delicious as always with grilled shrimp. Also, unlike the Northeast location, you order and pay at the counter and then they bring the food out to you. But overall, a very good representation of the Northeast spot and a lovely expansion for one of my local faves.

Yelp
I got food delivered from Chimborazo and was SO delighted at the experience!! The empanada was perfect. Super crisp, not overly oily, and the filling was delicious. The Lomo Saltado with chicken and shrimp was flipping amazing, I had to stop after a couple of bites just to appreciate how much the flavors were bursting in my mouth. It was distractingly good, and that takes a lot when you're eating with your toddler! So perfectly seasoned and authentic. Thank you for a delicious meal!

Yelp
Love this place. It's a great vibe. I love the chicken sandwich. It's very delicious. The bread that they make the sandwiches with is always so delectable. Buttery and grilled to perfection. Definitely one of my go to places.

Yelp
Incredible gem of a restaurant. Food from scratch made with love. The sauces are so addictive. Everything feels so clean and good. The soups are magical. Sandwiches out of this world. Staff is kind and helpful.

Yelp
I am beyond excited to have one of my top favorite NE Minneapolis restaurants open a second location on the St Paul side of the metro!! On my first visit, I knew I did not have enough time to dine in so we sat down and promptly ordered menu items to go. We had fun juicy mango and guava mimosas while we ordered and waited for our order. The staff is extremely friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. They're still getting used to their new digs, but they are wonderful, bright and airy and cheery. The yuca frita were exactly how I remembered them crispy and delicious and love the the herby green side to dip them in. The ceviche was bright, flavorful and very fresh. The LLapingachos breakfast was my entree and is my favorite menu item. Today's portions did not disappoint. The roast pork was amazing and I wanted to eat it all but I was stuffed. The LLapingachos are these savory cheese filled potato pancakes. They are comforting and a wonderful complement to my brunchy breakfast. I'm excited to plan my next visit. So happy to have them back in my life (not that Minneapolis is so far away, it just isn't where I end up hanging out these days.)

Yelp
As an Ecuadorian I can say that this is the best Ecuadorian food in Minneapolis, excellent! Brunch options are fire!

Yelp
I recently had the pleasure of dining at Chimborazo, and I can confidently say it's one of the best hidden gems in Minnesota. As someone who appreciates authentic Latin flavors, this Ecuadorian restaurant exceeded all my expectations. The portions were perfect for a large appetite and authentic. If there's anything I didn't like the prices were very high and you can't substitute sides that come with the dishes, which forces you to order appetizers to get the sides you really want.

Yelp
This is one of those places you come across on Yelp and wonder what type of place it is so you go and look for yourself. Well it payed off and worth it. The food was wonderful. I'll admit that I have no knowledge on cuisines of Ecuador. I really did not know what to expect and I really liked what I tried. I had a empanada del queso. It was good. A little odd having an appetizer with powder sugar. We also tried the sanduche del pollo and LLapingachos con Chorizo. All of it was delicious!!! I am already planing on coming back to try some more. Those little cheese filled potatoes are amazing. This came with a little sauce had a small kick. I don't know where it was supposed to go but I know where it went and on pretty much everything!! The salads are different. As Americans, we love our dressings. Well you are not going to get that here and it's refreshing. It was all fresh and the way I like it. I didn't even need any dressing!! The service was great and friendly. The place is small but very clean and open. If I was to say one negative it would be the parking. The parking lot is a bit small so parking could be a bit of a pain.

Yelp
First time at Chimborazo (St Paul) and it was fabulous! I had Saltado w/ tenderloin and loved it! The (added) green sauce is so good! Tried some Chaulafan fried rice. A+! My friends are regulars and they drive a ways to get there. They recommended the sandwiches and said the brunch is outstanding. I'm coming back soon. It would be a great takeout option too. I like the counter service. Good size portions. Well done!

Yelp
Amazing Yummy Food! Everything was delicious and very authentic. Lots of options from Breakfast to Dinner.

Yelp
My partner and I love this place. Amazing flavor. Since I moved to Minnesota I discovered Chimborazo and there hasn't been any other Ecuadorian restaurant that compares to the same flavor and seasoning as in Ecuador. I like the counter service because it seems much faster and more efficient to me.

Yelp
We went to Chimborazo to celebrate our 35th anniversary, reprising the 5 months we spent in South America shortly after our wedding. We were transported. The garlicky fried yucca (with a tangy green sauce) was sublime, the kind of snackable appetizer that's hard to stop eating. Fortunately, we had the discipline to save some for leftovers (thanks also to an exceptionally generous serving). Cheese-filled llapingachos, a traditional Ecuadorian potato fritter, brought back warm memories of this Andean comfort food. I ordered the garlic slow-roasted pork, tender and succulent, another generous portion with sides of Ecuadorian hominy, llapingachos, and a side salad. Salads were fresh and leafy, highlighted by vine-ripened tomatoes, red & yellow peppers, luscious avocados, and a lime vinaigrette. Chimborazo's St. Paul location is surprisingly spacious and comfortable, something you might not expect from a strip-mall storefront next to Trader Joe's. Decor is modern but understated, and the staff is friendly and welcoming. All in all, an ideal place for a casual but special meal to celebrate 35 years of wedded bliss. Go! You won't be disappointed!
