Where to Find Korean Fried Chicken in Portland and Beyond - Eater Portland

"Another KFC chain from Korea, ChiMcking serves extra crunchy boneless or bone-in wings in three flavors: soy garlic, hot king and extra hot king. At ChiMcking, the wings are the star of the show, complemented by the rest of the menu. The recommended pairing is the rice king, which comes with rice, pickles, nori, and fish all in a personal cup. While ChiMcking is still working on some menu items, it’s currently open for indoor and outdoor dining, takeout, and delivery." - Seiji Nanbu

I think this place is suffering from the consequences of the pandemic, increasing costs of supply chain and dwindling economy. The wings here now are -extremely- small and have gotten so small its not worth coming here anymore. This happens everytime I come here. They used to be big, juicy and full of meat. Now look at my picture. Credit card and thumb for reference. Go look at the other photos of the wings and compare. I used to come here every week. I really hope these guys can turn it around. The prices have not gotten cheaper while the wings are getting smaller. I want to assume they are trying their best and not being greedy since the owners seem like good people. I hope things change for the better as the flavor is still great but what you get for the money is not worth it right now.

We ordered the Half Soy Garlic & Half Hot Wings and they were delicious 😋. Also added a side of coleslaw.

This restaurant always looks full of customers and when you eat here you will understand why. Food is unique and tasty. Service is fast and friendly, attentive. Try something new like I did.

new review: while the chicken is still good, it is as crunchy as I remember it. You order up front and bus your own tables. I prefer the spicy ones over the soy garlic. I am a fan of how many wings I got ( very little drumsticks). prior review: Delicious fried chicken. The sides and all other dishes are a pass. -1 star for the wait since the wait time is so inconsistent. Parking is okay, it is in a big lot near TJ. The extra spicy is not that spicy.

Food is good , menue is a little pricey. Ordered Togo and wings were cold by the time I got home. So it's hard to give a review on the food because it wouldn't be fair. Definitely next time I'll dine in and get the full experience on my opinion. The potato wedges were good I snacked on them on my way home.

I love soy garlic flavor.! My family loves it so much. They gave to me Pickled of radishes and coleslaw. They were great match with wings.! Facility is a clean. Receptionist is very kind. Kitchen is very organized and looking so good. 100% I will be back when I have a chance.! Great service.

My neighbors told.me.about the good chicken so decided to check the place out. Friendly service and nice staff. Good selection of Korean beer, other beers and soda. We had fried chicken wings that was garlic and soy and the other dish I don't remember. My kid loves Korean food and culture and I asked her the dish name twice today and forgot already...looks like pasta but is rice noodles, fish cakes and spicy sauce with cheese on top. Food was delicious and wings on point. Will have to try other sauces.

Perfectly crispy, flavorful and a feast! The chicken was fried in a delicate coating so it wasn't soggy or too much batter like some wing places. The flavor was complex, perfectly balanced. We tried the soy garlic (my favorite - tasty blend of soy, garlic, a little sweet) and the hot king (kind of a smoky gochujang flavor). The kids had the boneless and the pieces are huge. We tried both ddoukbokki which had a good mix of crunchy cabbage and bean curd. The fries were crispy and addictive and I could eat bowls of the pickled radish. Service was good. For our first time there the cashier kindly explained the options. Someone I assume was an owner was courteous and appreciative when we left. Will definitely come back. I need to try the whole chicken with the soy garlic. That sauce is so good.
