I was 15 years old when I first discovered this place, and I am now 37. For the most part, I have lived in Bakersfield. I know taste buds change over time, but the taste and the quality of this place have gone down so bad on the bright side they do offer free samples but the server struggled to find a shrimp that was micro size for my daughter. The jalapeño chicken was something I hadn't tried it before, and it was good, so I decided to try it to go. The bbq pork was so dry and well overcooked, and the coconut shrimp I asked to go was undercooked. You taste the batter, and let me tell you, uncooked coconut shrimp batter taste awful. The chowmein was so oily, it looks great under the glass, but once you're home and you start eating, you realize it's so thin and oily. The place was dead. No one was eating inside or outside, making my transaction go by super fast. It was clean but with fewer tables than I remember. I will always remember how great this place USED TO BE, but unfortunately, I will not be returning to this establishment. Please note that this review can not be taken out on the cooks since the cooks are trained by the owners, and the server was also taught to serve the portion you get. Complete rip-off portions compared to price and quality of food. P.s. The egg rolls 2 for 2.80 are also bad, but the thing that takes the cake on the worst thing is the sweet and sour sauce, which tastes like vinegar.
