China Chef

This is my go-to Chinese place for takeout! I love the food, and I try to get something different each time I visit. The prices are fair, and the portions are sizable. Best of all, the owners are the kindest and friendliest people I know in town! They always remember my name and even my orders when I sometimes reorder my previous one! I highly recommend everyone to try China Chef if you're up for high quality, fresh, and delicious Chinese takeout!

As time passes these business be going down . Service was awful , the man was extremely rude and barely let you get out what u have to say . And the food 0 stars , you can tell they reheat the food , I wouldn’t be surprised if food is prepared beginning of the week and served until gone . General Tso chicken tasted very gummy & the chicken was stringy as if it was previously cooked and over heated same with the egg rolls . I recommend the Chinese place in eastchase food always fresh & very tasty .

I have been eating here for years and one of the reasons I chose this place is because it reminds me of my hometown Chinese restaurant Peking Garden. Over the course of time I have experienced different tastes with the exact same meal. I have had perfect, I have experienced old grease taste, and I think it may have made me sick. So I decided to stay away for a while to see if anything changes. I can say that they lady seems to be extremely tired, exhausted maybe. She always has this look on her face that lets you know something is bothering her. The poor kids are always in the lobby or behind the counter and I honestly think that is no place for kids to be. She needs to just stay home and let the men do the work because it's just not right. I'm praying that she finds peace but to be honest I think today was my last time eating here.

Great food! We picked this restaurant for take out because it is closest to our Cloverdale neighborhood. But, it is now our favorite Chinese place in Montgomery. All our 5 dishes were delicious. Beef with broccoli and beef with onion/peppers were some of the best in our lives There are very large dumplings in the pot sticker order. Their pot sticker sauces and stir fry sauces taste to me as if they are hone made...and great! We aren't from the south...so we think the filling in crab rangoon is too sweet...but, every restaurant in Montgomery we have tried serves them this way. I highly recommend this delightful family owned and run small business. We met three generations on our first visit. They are in a well lit strip mall. Give them a try. Our 3 dinners and 3 appetizers=$40.

They are friendly. They cooked the food as soon as I ordered so it was very hot and fresh. Fast service.i I ordered the kung pao chicken combo with white rice and. The Happy family combo with fried rice. Large serving was enough to feed 2 people. I also ordered an order of sweet donuts which were soft and fresh as well. Everything was perfect. I will go back.

It's oily and basic, the dumplings were under cooked. Skip this place.

The worst experience in Montgomery Chinese Chef restaurant, Nasty old grease expire taste pork fried rice not bean sprouts,not egg,green onions,wonton soup the same & the shrimp old musty refried nasty old grease taste also really bad at the same time finish eating at Popeye across T/A truck stop 🛑 don’t order from this place stay away so don’t get sick.

Nasty! Old grease has the back of my throat burning. Change your grease!!!! Disgusting 🤮

I ordered through DoorDash and was pleasantly surprised by how good everything was! The General Tso's Chicken had a nice balance of sweet heat and crispiness, and the Chicken Fried Rice was flavorful and well-seasoned--definitely not bland like some other spots I've tried. Even though I didn't dine in, the food was packaged securely, arrived hot, and tasted fresh. That speaks to both the quality and the care they put into their service. Ambience-wise, it gave off that dependable, no-frills local spot vibe--which I appreciate. I'll definitely be ordering from here again. Solid choice when you're craving Chinese takeout that actually delivers on flavor.

We order from here a few times a month and it is always delicious! I had been having a hard time finding good hot & sour soup and this place knocks it out of the park! The general Tso's chicken is amazing too!

Best place in the Daphne area. Fried wings are my husband's favorite. Pic isn't the great but the only one I had.

Im rating the food only on this one and not the location. I recommend ordering from Uber Eats and picking up as the area isn't the best, but for the price this is the best Chinese food in the area, hands down! They give you large portions compared to other Chinese spots around Montgomery, and they are very quick! I've had the teriyaki chicken (favorite), honey chicken (a very close second), and the sesame chicken. Every one of them is something I'd order again. This is my go to spot for good take out Chinese!
