We didn’t eat the buffet, at the time it wasn’t being offered, we ordered off the menu and everything was hot, fresh and cooked to perfection. Best crab rangoons around Huntsville. Don’t skip this place.

Google
Ordered take out tonight and it is usually delicious! Not this time. Crab rangoons were over cooked and hard, hot and spicy chicken was over cooked. We also ordered soup expecting fried wontons and it was some kind of weird cracker that was so stale, it would not even absorb the liquid. $65 for dinner and it was such a waste of money. Won’t go back for awhile!

Google
Great service, great atmosphere, excellent food. They also have lunch buffet and it’s really good and affordable price. We also like that they play Chinese music, not that we understand it but it makes the atmosphere better. Waitresses were very friendly and paying attention of what we need or if we needed refill.

I came here for the first time for lunch not realizing it was a buffet. It’s a very small restaurant barely any seating and not enough food choices. The food I did have was good.

Google
It’s not a bad choose if you are going for the Buffet but ordering actually food is a different story. I ordered teriyaki chicken (12.25) and noodles that seemed like they came with it but cost an additional (2.25). When the food came out the bowl was nearly all bell peppers and onions. Who even puts bell peppers in teriyaki chicken. They basically just used them to short change you, and use as little actual meet as possible after picking them all out, I was left with the amount of chicken that you see in the picture.

I’ve been here twice and both times the service was absolutely horrible however the food was good and very hot so that’s the ONLY reason why I feel this place is still open honestly. My favorite was the honey chicken 10/10

Have been going to eat here for years. Always have a pleasant experience. This last time we decided to dine in. Haven’t been able to for a long time. Me and my husband both got the general toas chicken combo dinners. Didn’t get the egg roll I asked for, got the spring roll instead. It didn’t taste good to me. We got our egg rolls when we were almost done eating. Yet it was all fine. It was super busy and only one lady was serving food. Even though it was extremely busy, we had waited for service and our egg rolls, it was all ok. They still did the best job and the food was good. For both dinners and drinks we paid $31

75$ for a family of 3 & we got leftover buffet food! 10 out of 10 would not recommend.

Yelp
I want to give five stars but it's sometimes a hit or miss on the flavor. Just really depends on which is cooking that day. But all in all it's really good chinese food! Great portions & delicious always. Sometimes it's super spicy & others it's perfect. Not upset by this, just a hit or miss. I love the beef & broccoli & their lo mien is amazing. Never had an issue with anything we ordered & everything is always correct. friendly staff when picking up & it's always super clean.

Yelp
This place was very good and the dish was hot and tasty. I had the TSO while I was traveling for work.

Yelp
My husband says they have the best shrimp egg foo young. The hot and sour soup is very good as well as the sweet and sour chicken. Neither of us are fans of the spring rolls that come with the combo plates. Fried rice is very good. The lunch buffet bar is small, but selection is good. The only complaint I would have is the bar is not replenished enough if you come towards the end of the lunch hour. While the restaurant is quite small, the ambiance is welcoming and relaxing. Friendly service and worth the money. Give it a try!

Yelp
I pass by this little hole in the wall every time I visit the Publix which is next door. Today, myself and the Queen herself stopped in to eat. It's quaint and small. Just a few booths but surprisingly had a buffet. It was no frills. Basic. In fact so basic that they didn't even have chicken on a stick. But I digress, the food was good for the price and convenience. Was it the best Chinese food that I have ever had? Nope! But my Momma's cooking wasn't always the best either. God rest her soul. Momma's food was always comforting and so was this. The service was excellent and our waiter was very friendly. The only complaint that the Queen decreed was concerning the sweet tea. She said it was very syrupy. That must have been a sweet tea! The Queen consumes so much sugar in a day that I contracted diabetes from her sneezing. So the question remains, will I return? I will definitely be back again!

Yelp
Amazing cost point for a lot of food... always good service and food is piping hot...their callin is always within 5 minutes you were told to pick up. Great change to have in New Market

Yelp
I was in the area and just had taste for some shrimp egg foo young and some sushi. I placed my order over the phone and was told it would be ready in 20 minutes which was great so I had time to run into Publix and grab some items. Once I picked up my food it was just okay. The sides were burned and there was literately just 6 small shrimp in the meal. The egg roll I asked for was missing as well. I called the establishment and was told by a female that she was new and didn't understand me. This will be my last time going.

Yelp
Hands down the best Chinese restaurant in Madison county. They are the type of family owned business that remember each customer. The food is amazing and not your regular run of the mill Chinese place. They put care and time into everything they serve. Will always recommend them to anyone!

Yelp
So thankful to have a good Chinese take-out so close, especially considering the lack of variety around the Winchester Rd area. My husband and I particularly love the lo mein.

Marian W.

Yelp
Good Chinese food is flavorful and fresh. The staff is very friendly and fast. One of our local favorites.

Natalie R.

Yelp
The chicken here is really chewy or 95% breading which is always very soggy. The noodles were good but not a fan of their rice, very dry.

Robin Y.

Yelp
The last few times the chicken has been so chewy and just not good. The vegetable lo mein and crab Rangoon are always tasty though! Egg drop soup is also delicious on a cold day.

Yelp
First time eating here. Was in town for business and just took a chance for lunch. I was not disappointed at all. Fabulous Buffett with fresh food, desserts and very friendly staff. I highly recommend China Cook. I will be going back every chance I get.

Josh C.

Yelp
The food here is seriously always so good. Strongly recommend. They are always so busy, & it is extremely clear why. I rarely go to leave reviews but this place really deserves it.

Yelp
We enjoy Chinese food and especially hot-sour soup. Theirs is outstanding. The food is goo with generous portions and the prices are great!

Yelp
Yummy! Good take out but skip the fried rice. The prices aren't bad. Don't forget though they are closed on Monday.

Yelp
The restaurant was closed at the beginning of the pandemic and I am so glad they reopened! I got the Honey Chicken Wings and they were fantastic! They are big, crispy and has the right amount of honey! I will return!

Yelp
This is my favorite Chinese food location. Clean, great service, and the food is very flavorful!

Yelp
I went there tonight and order a small egg drop soup and some fried rice. The menu stated the small egg drop soup is a pint and the bowl she gave me was less than a cup. I asked her about the cost and how much soup I should get and she said a pint. I asked her about the small bowl and I stated that it was not even a cup and she smiled. She said something about that was a small soup. I was severely disappointed in the quantity and her lack of response. I guess next time I will ask for a small soup in a to go container so I do not get ripped off.

Yelp
If you live anywhere in the northeast part of Huntsville over Chapman Mountain, China Cook is (in my humble opinion) the best Chinese restaurant. Their service is fast, respectful, and friendly. The restaurant, although small, is very clean and comfortable. It's also surprisingly affordable, with a good benefit to cost ratio. My personal favorite dishes are their Szechuan Combination and their House Special Chow Mei Fun (a pasta dish with very thin, soft rice vermicelli). The Young Chow Fried Rice (fried with white rice) is also very delicious! :-)

Yelp
I have mixed feelings for this restaurant. When the food is fresh, I love it. I really enjoy their spicy chicken. The problem, is that on multiple occasions I have received food, for dinner, that was obviously served on that day's lunch buffet. Even though I always order my chicken extra crispy, they still try to pass off old, dry, rubbery, refried, soggy, not even hot, certainly not extra crispy chicken, as being fresh. This is unacceptable! It happened again, tonight, for the last time. I will no longer patron this establishment. If you choose to give them a try, proceed with caution, and brace for disappointment.

Yelp
I really enjoy the friendly staff and the good buffet. It is a small place but that just makes it better. Buffett is $5.99 With soup and salad bar! I always drink water so I'm out the door for about $6.50 Always clean, very good location for the 35811 zip code.

Yelp
I love this place!! people are always very nice and polite. I am a sucker for chinese food and this is my go to. really good prices along with amazing food. I would recommend to everyone.

Wesley B.

Yelp
Great place, nice people! Would definitely recommend. Just writing more now bc Yelp makes you write a novel.

Yelp
My go to Chinese restaurant. Husband gets the General Tso's Chicken and I vary my orders. Have never had a bad meal here. They do have a small lunch buffet and sit down dining area. It is a local neighborhood restaurant that I like.

Yelp
Am giving this restaurant only 3 stars because of inconsistency of food. If you order take-out it is hot and takes very good. Recently a friend and I tried the buffet at lunch and the food was cold to lukewarm and did not look that appetizing. We were so disappointed as we had looked forward to having a large variety of tasty selections.

Yelp
I always have a great experience here. The food is great. The staff is very friendly. We have never done the buffet at lunch, but I can tell you the food off the menu is great.

Dawn H.

Yelp
Love this place. My absolute favorite Chinese buffet. We go after church. It's a little small but the owners are friendly. Very reasonable.

Yelp
I used to like this place when I first moved to New Market several years ago but it's gone down hill drastically. I haven't been back since I noticed the low sanitation grade hidden behind the cash register.

Lucy N.

Yelp
Such a bad, bad experience here. Came in with boyfriend to grab a quick lunch, He asked for two waters for us and she only brought one. Wasn't a big deal since I also ordered a diet coke but was an odd start already. I tried to order the Beef Chow Mein which was clearly described on the menu as 'crispy noodles'. She then proceeded to tell me that if I wanted noodles that I should get the Lo Mein instead because apparently 'Chow Mein isn't noodles' (??) I pointed out the description on the menu but she kept insisting that it wasn't noodles...so confused and frustrating. Ended up ordering Kung Pao beef which was sub-par at best, barely any meat (which was a weird gray color anyway) and obviously they used canned veggies. Also, for the majority of the time that we were there, the chef was either blasting chinese music or a soap opera on TV which wouldn't be a big deal but they also had loud american music playing on the speaker system at the same time which was obviously clashing. Will not ever be going back here again.
