I regularly get the sesame tofu for lunch and it is always fresh and fantastic. The sauce is perfect! The establishment is clean and the staff is very hard working and kind. They are very nice people. The food came out extremely quick. I go back time and time again!

Google
(photo shown is beef and broccoli without beef which is delicious) First, their fried rice and chicken wings are super good! Second, the lunch special price and days it's available is unbeatable. Third, food is always hot and fresh. In conclusion, you will not be disappointed give it a try! This is the ONLY Chinese restaurant I eat at here in Gainesville🧡💙

Google
This was my first time trying this Chinese Restaurant. I had the 15 small fried shrimp they were cooked nice and crisp the way I like my food, but it lacked flavor it tasted like they forgot to season the shrimp. I also had the fried sugar donuts and they were good. The service was great. I ordered the food online it was an easy process and the food was ready when I got there and still fresh. The employee that waited on me was nice and friendly. However, I don't think I will be going back due to the horrible smell that hit me time I walked in the restaurant it smelled like something was dead in there. I really didn't want to eat the food after that, but since I had purchased it I wasn't going to threw it away.

Google
Typical Chinese fair. Nothing impressive. Fried rice doesn’t have much seasoning, the sesame chicken sauce is almost like water (I prefer it thick). The lo mein was good. Price matches most competitors, the food was cooked quickly

Google
Great service, gotnthe chicken lo mein. Sad to say it was bland the noodles were weird tasting. It was the worst I've ever had. My husband really enjoyed the sweet and sour chicken and the crab rangoon.

Google
Food was good. Plenty of it for the price.

Google
Best Chinese food around town! No one can tell me other wise! Food is affordable and amazing, always fresh. Love the atmosphere, they really do go above and beyond for their customers. 10/10!!

Google
I go here after work sometimes. It's the best Chinese food place in the area.

Yelp
China Garden is my favorite Chinese restaurant in Gainesville. I'm a big fan of their rice - I like the texture, and flavor compared to other restaurants in Gainesville. They offer the typical lunch, and dinner special combinations at a fairly affordable price. The portions are decent - typically allowing you to save half for another meal or share with someone. I ordered online, but the times I have ordered at the restaurant has been very quick and easy. I've tried multiple meals, but tend to stay loyal to the Boneless Spare Ribs lunch special. I've tried the General Tso, Orange Chicken, Sesame Chicken, Bourbon Chicken, and Pepper Steak. All of them have been excellent. All in all, for the price and quality - I'd say China Garden is a top choice here in Gainesville.

Yelp
I *really* wanted to love this place, since it's so close to my home and work, but it just wasn't fabulous, and after this second bad experience, I probably will take this off the list of lunch options. I'll say this... Service at the register is quick and courteous; I only waited about 5 minutes for my order to be prepared and bagged up. But the food? Nah, not for me. I ordered the L19 General Tso's Chicken meal with white rice. For eight bucks, I thought it was a heck of a deal, until I opened the carton. I was expecting dark, sticky, gooey fried chicken morsels, but they were much lighter in color and very soggy. Soggier than even a 5-minute car ride could account for. Also, my meal came with two large heads (stalks? florets?) of steamed broccoli, which would be great if I could stand the flavor of broccoli... I was able to pick them off, but that whole area tasted like broccoli afterward. The meal had the little icon to indicate them being spicy, but they were not only not spicy, but hardly flavorful at all. Salt didn't help. Soy or duck sauce didn't help. And even if it did, I still had the rubbery, slimy, spongy texture of the chicken to deal with. After eating about 1/4 of the meal, I gave up... it wasn't tasty, so it wasn't worth the calories I was ingesting. My hope is that they were just having an off-day, but I have to spend my money and my calories in the best way possible, and this just wasn't the best way for me.

Yelp
Food here is always good! Usually get the boneless spare ribs but tried honey chicken for the first time. It got the job done but isn't my fave. Love the shrimp rolls here, they have a unique taste.

Yelp
Food is so good! Beef teriyaki is perfect. Egg roll is perfect. Soup is what I was hoping for. Customer service is on point! Lady was so nice and it only took 15 minutes!!! When I went to pick up my order she was so sweet and made sure I had everything I needed. The quality of food and price is well matched. So happy I found this place!

Yelp
Great schezwan chicken and beef with broccoli. Arrived hot with tons of sauces and fortune cookies.

Yelp
This is a good place to get Chinese food, if you haven't had it in a while, and you just need a fix. The front is under construction, so it is not very welcoming. The food/money transactions are like that of a bank. The food is middle-of-the-road at best. Worth the money, but not addictive.

Yelp
This is one of the best Chinese restaurants I have ever been to. I will be a repeat customer as my budget allows.

Yelp
Solid 4! We enjoyed our lunch specials, they were fresh and tasty...we dove right in, so our pics are close-ups. We are "used to" a different style of prep on both our meals, but their version was definitely good too. We will be ordering here again. We also felt that $7 lunch and $9 dinner prices were really nice to still be able to get anywhere in all of America...thank you China Garden.

Yelp
Excellent food and service! They have great food from beef with broccoli to honey garlic chicken and other dishes!!

Yelp
My usual order: Orange Chicken lunch special (ends at 3 on weekdays) Price: $7.50ish after tax What you get: orange chicken with pork fried rice and a few pieces of broccoli, decent portions (I always have leftovers) and it's always fresh. I've never been disappointed. Glad there are still good spots under $10

Yelp
Amid Covid. This is a late review. I was in Gainesville craving Chinese food. Good spot to get your cravings satisfied and it was quick too.

Yelp
Ordered the Szechuan beef from the lunch menu for $5.49 food was delicious and portions were good.Couldn't stop eating it.

Yelp
I really like China Garden restaurant. This is your typical greesy spoon Chinese Restaurant and it has me hooked. The reason is the food taste great and its really cheap and affordable. When you walk in to this place you see the food on the screens above. They run a dinner special that is $7.49 and you get a huge portion of the dish you select and fried rice and an egg roll. I have tried the General Tso's Chicken, Black Pepper Chicken, and the Kung Pao Chicken. All have been super tasty!!! The food is really good. I have seen other items like the sweet and sour chicken and other dishes. Like I said before this place is not much to look at, but the amount of food you get is awesome!! I would deff recommend going to place for amazing greesey Chinese Food. I am sure you will love it!!!!

Yelp
This is a nice place for Chinese take out. They are fast, pleasant and the prices are very affordable. I particularly appreciated that the food was not too salty, and did not taste like it contains a lot of MSG. I plan to stop there again soon when I am in the neighborhood.

Yelp
Best take out quick Chinese in town. Good size portions and tasty. They also have been taking Covid seriously with precautions

Yelp
This is your basic family run Chinese takeout in a fairly low end strip mall. Not terribly clean, but okay. No surprises on the menu but when you get your meal - wow. Food we ordered the lunch menu cashew chicken and the sweet and sour pork. Both came w pork fried rice but they'll give you steamed rice if you ask. Food was hot, flavorful, and Boy were the portions huge. Most remarkable was the sweet and sour pork - not even a hint of grease! How'd they do that? We enjoyed as much as we could eat and brought the rest home for lunch. If we are back in their part of town again we'll probably stop in.

Yelp
This is the best Chinese take out place! I think it caters very well with the Americanized Chinese food and authentic Chinese food. I'm not sure if they add msg (msg is deemed safe by the FDA and the UN) but either way its great! I've gotten orange chicken, general tso chicken, fried rice, fried noodles, and so many others. I'm not the biggest fan of Americanized food but the fried noodles/rice are the best here.

Yelp
Their food is soooooooooooo good!!!!! My husband and I have made it our go to Chinese food spot. We get the Vegetable mei fun & spring rolls. Lots of spring rolls! It's a lovely family owned business and the owner that's at the front is always so friendly and nice. Sometimes we decide to eat there if we walked there and she serves us just like a sit down place. We appreciate the great food & service! Thanks :)

Yelp
This is fast food Chinese like many other Chinese businesses in town; I debated between 3 & 4 stars. It is located beside the Publix on Main Street. It appears very clean-- both the kitchen & dining areas. There are five new wooden tables for eat-in meals. There are three wooden chairs for those awaiting their take out orders. There's a refrigeration unit stocked w/ bottled water, soda & other beverages. The woman working the front counter was very friendly & spoke very good English. The cook assisting her was another woman, and their two children (on a non school day) were quietly playing on tablets in the dining area. I tried different menu items. The plantain appetizer at just $3.55 was the BEST item I ate. The quantity was huge & the taste excellent! The Teriyaki Beef (aka Beef on a Stick) was somewhat disappointing; it was quite tender, but it lacked flavor. The Pepper Steak w/ Onion w/ a side of white rice was excellent; however, there was no mention on the menu of green peppers included in the dish. (Thankfully I like them & they were perfectly cooked.) The Chicken Fried Rice was good, but it lacked salt (which can easily be added by the consumer). The Bourbon Chicken (over broccoli) was massive & tasty, & the $5.49 lunch special of Roast Pork Lo Mein w/ a side of pork fried rice was also good, although I've had better elsewhere (& worse elsewhere as well). On a subsequent visit, I ordered the Chef's Special Lo Mien; it was flavorful, containing chicken, shrimp, beef, & other proteins. I was told my wait would be ten minutes, which was correct. The parking was easy (many spaces nearby), but if you are unfamiliar w/ this area be prepared to see (and possibly be approached by) the homeless, the drunk & those who regularly talk to themselves. I met two of the three as I walked to my vehicle. It's all good, though, and this restaurant is a nice addition to the area. I will return the next time I have family or company desiring a decent & fast Chinese meal.

Yelp
If there was room for 0 I would put zero. The food is a constant disappointment and I've tried almost everything on the menus. But the hot and spicy beef I just got makes me want to gag it's that bad

Yelp
I ordered the General Tso's Chicken. I found the chicken and fried rice very tasty. The egg rolls that came with it wasn't that good, though. Overall, I wouldn't mind going back again.

Yelp
Definitely will not be coming back here. The fried rice was more like Spanish yellow rice with veggies, the bourbon chicken was cold, the fortune cookies were stale. Definitely not up to code with food. Health inspectors should come in and check it out.

Yelp
Love this place. Reminds me of little places back in nyc. Super clean. Super friendly. Great flavor.

Yelp
Pretty good little place in an alright part of town. Cheap food and tastes great. Been to many different Chinese places and this one is hands down the best in its category. AND they give you fortune cookies

Colin P.

Yelp
Typical Chinese restaurant in a strip mall, next to a Public. The food is clearly a step-up from most of of their competitors. For $23, my wife and had two dinners, and 2 sodas, and we could not finish out meals. Recommended

Yelp
These guys are literally the only thing open right now pre hurricane Irma, killinggggg it in the kitchen. Hurricane food done right!

Marcus C.

Yelp
Decent food but greasy...it's your average Chinese takeout spot, nothing special but nothing bad either.

Jenny T.

Yelp
Got a quick take out lunch. About $6 for a lunch special. The General tso's chicken was really good! Very nice family that runs it. Definitely will be back

Yelp
My husband and I have both bought food from China Garden for take out many times. Many things are like what you would buy at other Chinese restaurants so I didn't review them. Items in this category are fried chicken, egg roll, spring roll and won ton soup. This last time I bought beef fried rice. It was fantastic!! Many places put small pieces throughout the rice. Here there were actual strips of beef in the rice. I have never seen that before. We are not talking one strip but numerous strips. It was delicious!!!

Slippery S.

Yelp
A standard Americanized Chinese take-out restaurant. Easily the best in this part of Gainesville in terms of price, speed, consistency, and kindness.
