Roasted pork didn’t look like other pictures we saw. The skin was surprisingly crispy but the base of the meat felt abit stale. Dim sum was alright. Steamed beancurd skin looked like there have been left for some time, the taste was average. Pan fried turnip cake tasted fine. Lotus leaf glutinous rice was not as expected.

The food in this restaurant is amazing! If I could give more stars I would! The dumplings are the best, the meat is flavorful and the veggies are delicious! Everything tasted so good!! The service is great, the waitress was very attentive and we got amazing recommendations on what to order. They don't push you out as soon as you finish eating, we felt very welcome and taken care of.

I was invited here during an event and I received very bad food poisoning along with other guests. All of the tables and seats were placed super close to where there is barely any room. The people at my table were constantly elbowing each other on accident while trying to eat Some of the servers were also very rude. One of them accidentally hit one of the guests at my table while trying to put the food down and didn't even apologize or acknowledge that he hit her. They were also constantly bumping into people due to the tightness of the tables layout. The food is meh at best. The fish and lobster was very disappointing as multiple people felt sick after eating both. A few of us ended up leaving the event early due to food poisoning including me. I will not recommend at all and there are better Chinese venues in the area to host large events.

Dim sum is delicious. The food comes out fast. There are a lot of dim sum dishes. The portion is nice. The staff is friendly and enthusiastic. The restaurant has a nice decoration with the huge chandelier.

Google
We came here for dim sum, and everything was delicious. The service was extremely quick, and the carts came around right as we sat down. The waitresses were very attentive, and they helped us find the dishes we wanted. We did have to wait to get a table, but it didn’t take too long. Although the dim sum was good, it still can’t compare to the dim sum found internationally in Asia. However, it’s still one of the best we’ve found in the states. Definitely will be back!

Google
There was already a long line on a weekend morning. The restaurant was in general quite good. The dim sum were quite authentic - just the variety of dim sum was a bit narrow. The quality of the dim sum was okay but the portion was really small. My only complaint was the fact that the Chinese tea was really dilute - quite disappointing.

Google
One of the best dim sum places in the area. Very good variety. Normally we come over the weekend when it's completely packed. Today we made it for dinner were able to order all the dim sum items a la carte. Great food as usual

Google
Make sure to get the ha gao and chicken feet. All the dishes are pretty good, they've got everything you'd expect plus a few unique ones. We didn't have to wait on a Sunday morning, and there was plenty of good food to eat. Inside was pretty clean and service was quick. Definitely a thumbs up and would go again.

Yelp
Had a very nice meal here on a Sunday morning. Our party was large - 5 adults and two children - but Dim Sum is great for large parties and the restaurant is ample with plenty of tables for large parties to gather. For our visit, the carts were being used. We got served almost immediately after our party sat down and the first cart had an array of meat items that was a unique experience for me in terms of dim sum. We got a plate of roasted pork and an enormous portion of bok choy of this cart which were both enjoyed by everyone. They pour a sweet soy sauce over the top of the bok choy at service which made it a little bit more than just steamed veg. Later, the same cart came by with other meat varieties including duck which I would have enjoyed trying, but we were full by that point. The steamed items carts came quite frequently, so it was easy to get shumai, etc. The baked item carts seemed to come less frequently. We wanted extra baked pork buns and had difficulty getting them. The staff spoke a lot of chinese, but we had no trouble communicating with them in English enough to address our needs. Several of the staff were very nice, but don't be surprised if you get a rushed/clipped response from some servers. That seems to be a standard at any dim sum place. There is complimentary parking in the pay lot directly across the street from the restaurant. It is well labeled, so you shouldn't miss it. There is also street parking, but that seemed mostly full when we got there. Just remember to take your parking ticket with you to the restaurant to get validated. All in all, we had a very nice experience. The place was full and the vibe was energetic without being overwhelming. There is something about the experience full cart service dim sum that I just adore and China Garden fulfilled all my needs.

Yelp
If you want real Cantonese Chinese food- this is the place. During the week dim sum is ordered via menu vs cart. Weekends have the cart delivery with a large assortment of dim sum. Today I was craving duck and the duck here is 5/5 stars. Hands down for taste, meat quality and portion. The chow fun - dry- cooked perfectly with tender beef. The fried rice had a nice toasty flavor if the seasoned wok and Chinese sausage made it more delicious. The Szechuan string beans had just the right crunch and salty and spice. Service was quick and friendly. The dining room is roomy with a stage for private events. I will be back again when I come to visit DC area.

Yelp
China Garden Han Gong is one of the very few Cantonese restaurants in Rockville. Five of us came here for dinner a couple Sundays ago. We were also here the same time as a wedding event that was happening. Unfortunately, we were able to hear everything due to the lack of sound proof walls and the sound system set up. We ordered a couple dim sums and three entrees to share. Side note, if you want tea here, they charge 1.50 per person. The chrysanthemum tea we got was a bit weak. A7 蠔皇叉燒飽 STEAMED ROAST PORK BUN - 5.50 Each order comes with three buns. The buns were steamed pretty well and we thought it had a good ratio of roast pork and bun. The roast pork was pretty flavorful. C1 原隻大蝦腸 STEAMED SHRIMP RICE CREPE - 6.50 Each order comes with three shrimp crepes cut into halves. The soy sauce they used was well soaked up by the crepes which were thin and slightly chewy. Shrimp was fine. G1 蠔油中芥蘭 CHINESE BROCCOLI WITH OYSTER SAUCE - 15.75 The portions were pretty sizable and the Chinese broccoli was fresh. I thought the oyster sauce was really watery. Either way, this was a good vegetable option if you aren't feeling the string beans or pea shoots. F3 幹炒河粉 (牛) BEEF DRY CHOW FOON - 16.95 Very classic option for dinner if you don't want to venture out. I found this to be pretty bland -- at least it's not too greasy. Lots of wide noodles but not a whole lot of beef. I have had better elsewhere. R11 荔蓉香酥鴨 STUFFED CRISPY DUCK WITH MASHED TARO - 29.75 Each order comes with 12 pieces of duck. This takes a bit to prepare (20-30 minutes) but it was pretty worth it. Each piece of duck was coated with mashed taro and deep fried with a delicate, crispy layer. Each piece is pretty dense/rich from the taro and the fatty skin of the duck. I was not able to eat more than 2-3 pieces myself, so definitely a great sharable if you are eating with a bigger group. Overall, the food was not bad and the service is decent if you speak Cantonese or Taishanese.

Yelp
We did take out and each dish was delicious. Ingredients were fresh and done well. We ordered a whole duck and we were impressed with the rendering of the fat from under the skin, getting cucumber, scallion and the whole carcass in addition to the pancakes. This is how Peking duck should be served. The salt and pepper head on shrimps we deveined, another example of the care taken to serve delicious food. Highly recommend.

Yelp
Great DimSum all around. Everything is always fresh and delicious. the servers are always friendly, and check up on you often. It can be a little noise when it's busy, but it still provides a great atmosphere. The Young Chow fried rice is a must order! The roasted pig is also so perfectly done every time. This place has one of the best wonton soups IMHO, simple and delicious. The only reason I do not give it a 5 star is because of the timing of the food. Sometimes, the larger dishes can take a while to come out while the dimsum comes out much faster.

Paul S.

Yelp
Haven't been here in a while which honestly was kinda on purpose. It's still a solid place for Cantonese food as we came for dinner with a big group. Ordered several dishes to share: triple-delight cold cut platter, roast duck, filet mignon China Garden style, egg tofu w/ mixed mushrooms, fish filet in XO sauce, salty egg yolk lobster, and seafood pan fried noodles. The cold cuts were pretty good; pig knuckle, beef tendon, and jellyfish were all prepared well. There were a few dishes that were pretty bland and flavorless: egg tofu and pan fried noodles. The egg tofu texture was cool, kinda like eating custard. But the sauce really let this dish down; needed soy or oyster sauce. Same for the noodles, which is usually one of my favorite dishes; too bland. Should have asked for red vinegar to wake it up. The lobster, duck, and filet were the stars; all three were very flavorful and I'd order again. This place has been around for about 5 years now and you'd think its older. Could really use some cleaning and it just feels like its been neglected with the expansion of some of their other Han Spot locations. You can definitely tell the chef is different, but they probably get most of their business via dim sum and banquets at this place. Too much competition in Rockville to serve OK food, kinda like East Pearl.

Yelp
$136 for four adults and two children is what I'd call a pretty good lunch. We had the usual picks: chicken feet, shrimp shumai, pork buns, pork ribs, red bean pastry, pork char siu, veggies, and a couple of others. The food in general was good. I wouldn't say the dim sums would blow your mind away but they would satisfy your dim sum cravings. The environment is definitely loud. If you want a relaxing or quiet place to eat, then please avoid this restaurant. The service was great. The waiters were always around with the carts which meant that the dim sums were always fresh.

Vivian T.

Yelp
I'd consider this place to be one of the top dim sum restaurants in the DMV. There always seems to be a crowd waiting on Sunday around brunch time, despite how large and how much seating there is inside the restaurant. In terms of service, the servers are very quick and attentive. The carts come around frequently so every couple minutes you'll have new dishes presented to your table. My favorites include shumai, steamed shrimp crepes, and the congee. Food is always served hot as they come in the carts and you can order other dishes off the menu. One of the unique dim sum dishes you definitely have to try out is the purple golden yolk bun, it is sweet with a slightly savory and salty inside. There is parking available at a lot across the street. It says it costs $7, but you can get it validated at the restaurant. Overall, this place is well worth making the drive from Virginia to Maryland.

Carroll N.

Yelp
8.1.23 Love that this restaurant has patrons select items off the dim sum menu versus pushing around the cart so the food can stay hot. Food came out fast and everything I ordered was delicious. I ordered five "tapas" and was only able to eat half. I brought the leftovers to have for lunch tomorrow. Our server was fine, but didn't really check on us once the food was brought out to us. My friend had to flag him down to ask for our tab and boxes. Parking is available in the lot across the street, which says $7 and can be validated. I did not know and we parked in the garage, which is free for the first two hours. The garage on level 2 looked sketchy. Carts are abandoned there and it looked creepy. I would not feel safe parking there at night even though it's in Bethesda. This may just be my new fav dim sum spot in Maryland. Just wish their dim sum menu was more extensive.

Yelp
After coming during opening weekend, I have not been back due to the poor quality. I decided to give it a second chance and I was massively disappointed. I came on a Sunday afternoon and ordered two orders of chicken feet, two orders of shrimp dumplings, a plate of beef chow fun, and sticky rice wrapped in lotus leaves. The indicators of how good the Dim Sum chef and the chef for the regular Cantonese dishes are depend on the shrimp dumpling and beef chow fun respectively. And the chefs at this location are not qualified. The skin of the shrimp dumplings were easily broken when picking it up with chopstick and the skin was thick. The beef chow fun tasted just ok while the beef was not thinly slicked and did not have that classic beef chow fun marinated taste. The sticky rice and chicken were just ok. The total came to $49. For that price, I can go to Hong Kong Pearl in Gaithersburg for much better quality. As this is a Cantonese/Dim sum restaurant that markets itself as more upscale as reflected in the price, the quality was underwhelming. I just don't understand how the China Garden in Tysons is so much better than this location considering how how it's been open now.

Yelp
Best dimsum in the area! Usually it's a bit hard to order dimsum because we don't speak the language, but here, the servers are so nice and it's very easy to order what we want. Our favorites include Shumai, Har Gow, shrimp crepe, deep fried pork and sesame balls for dessert. Get the rice wrapped in lotus leaf if you want some rice too. The place is big but always packed on the weekends, so be prepared to wait or come at an off time (especially with a big group). We came Sunday 1pm and waited about 10-15min for two people. The place was emptied by the time we left around 2:15. We'll certainly come back!

Suzie Z.

Yelp
We ordered more than 10 dim sum dishes off the traditional push carts and shared them amongst 4 people. It was absolutely delicious and worth the long drive over from Washington DC. They open earlier than weekdays at 11am during weekends so you have to come early as they don't accept resa fb aidons but only walk ins. They even offer free parking that is literally opposite the restaurant (remember to validate your parking ticket!). Second time back here and I'll definitely be back again!

Yelp
I went to Dim Sum on a Sunday early afternoon, and my party and I were met with a ton of people crowding in the restaurant entrance. Once you enter, you let the host know how many people are in your party, and they text you once the table is ready. It was actually a rather short wait, no more than 10 minutes. I guess having all those tables inside helps!!! Our experience was pretty good. All the food is delicious, no doubt about that. None of the dishes particularly surprised me or were more amazing than a dim sum restaurant I've been to before except for the juk (rice porridge). Their rice porridge is delicious and salty, and also has some pieces of century egg!! Some of the dishes, like the shu mai, shrimp crepe, did not come very hot. They were kept warm on the carts but didn't taste super fresh. Many of the same carts kept coming around, so after we were there for about 20 minutes, we saw all the options that were being offered at the time. We didn't receive any menus, and we didn't end up ordering anything a la carte. I think the latter two aspects would be the only feedback that bumped it to a 4 rather than 5 star experience, but it was still a fantastic Dim Sum brunch!

Jerry S.

Yelp
What didn't go wrong? Dinner combinations were not available, duck was sold out. Food for our party arrived one dish at a time over an hour and a half. Some was cold, some was overcooked, lamb was laced with bone fragments, and one of our group became ill and had to leave early. No dish was particularly tasty. On top of that, an item that was never received was on the bill. They messed around so long I had to pay for an extra hour of parking. Big fat Meh.

Mimi W.

Yelp
Just attended AALead's (look them up!) Annual Dinner and had a wedding reception-styled 10-course dinner! The service was great and the restaurant was accommodating in hosting a large event. They even have a stage and area to dance. The star dish was not the surf side of the twin lobsters, but the turf side of the Filet Mignon (China Garden Style) - flavors were nice and a tad sweet but not overpowering, I can't pinpoint the flavor but reminds me of a bit of maybe the Iron Age steak (Korean bbq)? Overall the food was pretty solid, maybe a 4 with some misses with the flavor or a bit overcooked but it's also a bit expected for such a large event. They have their own surface parking lot across the street which they validate, not the garage parking tho that's free for 2 hours. I have to upgrade my rating, almost want to give them a 5 because any friend sponsors of AALead and giving back to the community deserves some praise, but I'll give them a one star upgrade to a solid 4!

Yelp
As a frequenter of dim sum in the north east, I have to say that the food here was delightful. Most quality dim sum places have very similar quality and taste fo their dishes, but the "beef crepe" as the crude English translation, was absolutely superior than anything I've tried. It's a white noodle like texture wrapped in a beef filling and was very substantive but also chewy, unlike other places I've been where the consistency has been a lot less chewy. For that reason, I'd recommend anyone to try. Not sure if it was because we went there at 3pm, but there was no push-cart service, just ordering from the menu.

B S.

Yelp
The food was plentiful, fresh and well prepared but not memorable. Our cocktails, served in double-shot glasses, were a real rip-off at $14.00 apiece. The service was very rushed and and curt even though, as a large restaurant, only 4 tables were taken on the Wednesday evening we were there. Overall this was not a restaurant I would recommend.

Ashley W.

Yelp
We previously went to the other location owned by the same owner, China Palace, for dim sum. Compared to that location I think this restaurant has much more open seating and it helps make it easy for the carts to move around. The dining area is open for the most part but you can see the dividers that separate the area into different sections for private events, which means there's no need to do any buyouts if you want to host an event. The main dining area has a beautiful chandelier and a stage area as well. It gets very busy so I recommend going early to get a table! There is a parking lot across the street that you can get a validated ticket for from the restaurant. I'm actually planning a wedding reception here and the manager has been very helpful with the planning and menu selection. I'll be sure to update this review once I actually have the reception for anyone who might consider this venue location!

Min Z.

Yelp
It's a huge restaurant and known for dim sum. It was hard to find parking, but there's a lot across the street and it's free for China Garden's customers. Just remember to stamp your ticket on the way out. We arrived early and wanted to get a table but were told that we couldn't be seated unless all the qiestes had arrived. It's never been my favorite restaurant because it is too big. We are not that crazy about dim sum because it's very easy to overeat. But if you like dim sum, this is the restaurant you can't miss. We ordered 20 small dishes for a party of six. Dishes included spare ribs, roasted pork buns, clams with black bean sauce, roast duck, string beans, steamed shrimp rice crepes (chow fun), shrimp dumplings, chicken feet, sesame balls, Suger Cake 白糖糕 lava custard bun 紫金流沙包,stemmed egg custard bun奶黄包,Steamed Pork Dumpling 烧卖。 Everything was standard, nothing stood out except the lava custard bun.

Morgan H.

Yelp
Came here on a Saturday afternoon, which turned out to be a mistake because they were setting up for a wedding and limited their dine-in seating area to about 7-8 tables. Had to wait about an hour to get seated, so I left and came back, but was seated immediately when returning. However, the food was absolutely delicious. Best Dim Sum I've had in the DMV area, and much better than a couple in DC. Ordered a handful of dishes including Steamed Shrimp Dumplings, Rice Crepe Paper, Turnip Cakes, and a few others - But my favorite was the Steamed Buns w/ Custard. Really fluffing buns, with a custard filling that wasn't too sweet. Great way to end the meal. Food came out as it was ready, so received dishes staggered throughout our meal. The only reason this place has low reviews is probably due to the service. It's not great, but understand this place gets packed with lines out the door. The food is great, and will definitely come back here.

Tim H.

Yelp
Folks - three-stars is a bit harsh, isn't it? China Garden has improved substantially since opening (and COVID years). Their wide selection and taste of dim sum dishes are comparable to why they've been famous for decades (back in the days before they moved to Rockville). Pork buns, Bean Curd Roll,Crab Claws, Turnip Cake, Roasted Duck, Turnips and everything tasted as good as ever. Our waiter was super friendly (it wasn't very busy at the time), and we didn't want to wait so we basically told him to bring whatever he recommended. Overall - if you have good company, it's dim sum you want, just come on over. It's fine. Park your car at the lot across the street. They validate your ticket. I'm giving it a 5-stars to average up.

Sallie W.

Yelp
This used to be a great dimsum place but the last two times have been a disappointment both in food and service. For dimsum we got the usual, hargow, siukmai, cheong fun, chicken feet, leek dumplings, porridge. And ordered off the menu a beef noodle stir fry and salted egg yolk calamari. The calamari used to be crispy but recently its been soggy and way too oily. The siumai was not fresh. The cheong fun is too thick. Everything else was okay. And the service is really a hit or miss with who you can get attention of. We were looking for the cheong fun and didn't see any in the carts so we asked who we thought was our waiter for some help but all he said was "oh maybe it's in this dimsum cart thats passing by" and left. There was none. And we had to ask 3 other people for us to get one plate of mediocre cheong fun. Drinks were not refilled. The food used to be good. Unfortunately will not be coming back.

Yelp
This is a wonderful place! I was having a rather awful day and my son and I decided to dine here for the first time (after all these years being in the area)--and I'm so glad we finally did as our late dinner completely cheered me up and turned the entire day (week, really) around. That is what a great dining experience can do...I think we always decided not to come here in the past due to parking--but don't let that stop you! There is off street parking and I believe a parking lot across the street. We happened to be lucky finding a spot close by. So, the restaurant is simply beautiful and provides a very pleasant and welcoming environment. Other guests seemed to be enjoying their meals, always a good sign. The waitstaff was wonderful...so kind and attentive! We were able to order dim sum even late in the evening and all our (many) dishes were delicious and well-presented. We were asked what kind of tea we wanted, which I also appreciated as I do not like jasmine tea (which is oftentimes the default). Our food arrived quickly and was simply delicious, not too salty or bland, and very neatly presented. It was overall a pretty fabulous dinner, which I'm grateful to have been able to enjoy at just the right moment... This will definitely be our go-to place for classic Chinese (Cantonese-style) cuisine. Highly recommended

D D.

Yelp
Loud! They had a party and we couldn't hear ourselves talking because it was so loud. We asked them to turn it down a little but they would not. Food is ok, nothing out of the ordinary... but honestly I could not hear myself think it was so loud. Maybe work on separating the parties from dining guests in the future.

Daniel T.

Yelp
I dined at China Garden on Sunday, March 12, 2023 at 11:30 am. Shortly after opening, there was already a full dining room. Luckily, my party didn't have to wait long, but we were seated literally at the last table of the restaurant, which happened to be the table immediately by the entrance. I call it the "unwanted table" because who would want to eat while being surrounded by a crowd of people like zoo animals? There were even several times when people were talking over our table and bumping my chair, which was annoying. Given how quickly the queue grew, I accepted it. Someone had to sit there... Food: Plates generally looked presentable and tasted flavorful. Some weren't as hot. It took a considerably long time for the carts to roll out of the kitchen. For most of the time, there were only like 2-3 carts being pushed. The ones that did make it to our table did not have the standard items like the shrimp dumpling, xiu mai, chive dumplings, or fried shrimp ball with crab claw. So we had to wait even longer and flag the waiter to request the additional items. Service: Absolutely abysmal service. It was clear they were severely understaffed as we got no service whatsoever except for the busboy, who did an amazing job at clearing our table. But the waiters made no effort to refill waters and hot teas, or give us any additional silverware or napkins. The waiter even ignored me by giving me the hand when I tried to get his attention. I've been to China Garden several times and have consistently received subpar service. But this time, there was no service at all. The food is usually good, but not good enough to make up for the poor service.

Lee Z.

Yelp
Another good meal. Service was very good Food was excellent Loved the chicken pan fried noodles dish was delicious.

Brian L.

Yelp
Pretty good dim sum place. The carts come by fairly quickly and there is a good selection to choose from. There is a good amount of seating so there shouldn't be any issues trying to get in and get a table (went in on a Saturday for lunch). The food itself I felt like was adequate, but didn't necessarily shine in any particular way. Not saying that the food wasn't good though, it satisfied a craving and that's good enough for me. Overall a pretty solid place, the only thing that is tricky is the parking. There is a parking lot across the street in front of the restaurant, park there and bring your ticket with you inside, there the person working the front table will validate your ticket and get you free parking.

Yelp
We ordered dim sum online at 11:30am. Came to pick up the food at 11:45. It was not ready but the hostess said 5 minutes. 10 more minutes pass and we ask again and she says 3 mins this time. I ask her how do you know if you never ask me what I ordered? Basically her generic reply to any question is 5 mins. She finally looks at my phone and my order. Grabs a waiter and tells him to look for the food. He says it's coming without ever going in the kitchen. An hour passes and we ask to cancel the order so we can leave. The hostess doesn't know how and has to call her sister. No one actually checks for us if the food is really getting prepared. Our order comes out as we are leaving an hour later! The hostess makes sure we don't take the food since we cancelled. TERRIBLE SERVICE! Go to Far East down the street as they have dim sum as well.

Jeff L.

Yelp
China Garden offers some of the most authentic dim sum in the area, and we had a great Chinese New Years banquet there! Let start with the atmosphere. Your coming for the rolling carts of deliciousness, it's exactly what you should expect. The clatter of plates and dishes being served, loud conversations from the crowded hall. Soak it in and enjoy the experience! The food is sold. We love the steamed shrimp dumplings and any of the buns. If you are up for it the chicken feet are wonderful. For a nice noodle dish I'd go for the crispy seafood noodles, it's hard to beat the crispy noodle combined with a warm delicious sauce. Now for the Chinese New Year Celebration. China Garden did this requesting. The dragon dance was wonderful, red envelops handed out to the kids to feed the dragon. Just a well executed experience.

Yelp
Busy busy during the weekends for fim sum, but seating can be pretty fast depending on how many you have in your party. In our experience, it takes about 20-30 min to seat 3 or 4. Larger parties may get seated faster since they have many large tables that accommodate 6+. With that said, they are very fast with taking your tea/drink order once you are seated, so be prepared with what you would like. My go-to tea is the chrysanthemum, which traditionally comes with crystal sugar cubes. It's very fragrant and does not have any caffeine unless you mix with other black tea. It can get a bit loud, but we are usually still able to hear everyone at the table. Love the pork and duck egg congee. I suggest the drier pan noodles, which I didn't take a picture of over the noodles in sauce. I always ask for less sauce on everything they sauce at your table - otherwise, it's very salty for my taste. The non-sauce noodles are a bit less salty. I love Chinese broccoli, and the plate is heaped full and drenched with oyster sauce at your table. We also got fried sesame balls filled with lotus paste (sorry, no picture since my little one grabbed them for themselves and defalted them! ). The duck is very meaty, unlike other dim sum places I've been to. Also, tastes great. Overall, food comes out fast, so be prepared to pace yourself and choose wisely! But if you do over order (like I always do), they provide ample takeout boxes. And ask for fortune cookies or grab them on your way back from the washrooms to your table! Happy eating!

Yelp
This place has never let me down! Nasty weather out today and we did carry out dim sum from here. All was tasty as usual! The Har Gow, beef rice crepes, chicken feet- nothing disappointed!! Glad this place is still thriving!

Yelp
A lovely dim sum visit for December 31, we only had to wait maybe 15-20 minutes for a seat -- given the crowds, they turn over tables relatively fast. Yummy food all around, pleasant decor, and a nice time.

Yelp
I eat where the Asian folks eat and there is a reason why! The only issue here is I cannot tell what to order because the regulars order stuff that I have never seen before and as it rolls by my table we have already ordered! The food is great!

Yelp
Came in for dinner and was not disappointed. The peking duck and the chicken were my favorites. You can order the duck with the traditional wraps or buns (we did both). I enjoyed the roasted pork, but our other table said theirs was not crispy. The fish, shrimp & scallops with vegetables, and fried rice complemented my favorites pretty well. -Outstanding service -Great place to have a large dinner gathering -There is out door parking across the street that they can validate the ticket for you

Yelp
Not sure with the low ratings, we always receive decent service and really delicious food. This place has been the to go place for Chinese weddings, and banquets, Their weekend dim sum on the pushing carts are must haves in the local community. This will always be my to go Cantonese restaurant.

Yelp
Great for weddings and other major events. Prices are okay if you're going there for dim sum. The teas they offer are really cheap as in taste that is. It's not great or Eve good teas. The dinner menu is expensive and the MP are usually way too high for fishes. The service is okay. Not super great and that is expected for Chinese restaurants. The inside decor is okay.

Yelp
Good dim sum in DMV area. Steamed pork ribs, duck, egg tart are great. Shrimp dumplings are not fresh enough. Pad thai is dry, lack flavor and expensive

Yelp
Came here for a banquet style party. I found the food to be decent but not excellent. They validate parking at the lot across the street.

Yelp
Date: 4/8/2023 I always go here with my family, every year to celebrate momentous occasions and I have never left disappointed. The Shumai is always my favorite and it tastes delicious with the soy sauce and the Chicken Lo Mein as a main entree is great as well. If I was closer to Maryland, I would definitely try to go here often for Dimsum because it's my absolute favorite. The staff with the Dimsum cart are pretty friendly especially one lady who was joking with us every-time which was fun!

Yelp
This is was our first visit to China Garden for a birthday dim sum celebration on a Thursday afternoon. We parked at the open lot across the street. Take your parking ticket inside the restaurant to get free validation from a machine that is located on the left side of the hostess table. It was not crowded, we were seated immediately. The dining room is large and beautifully decorated . Haven't seen a Chinese place like this in Maryland in a long time! The wait staff were all wearing masks and attentive. There are no carts available, you will write down what dim sum you want to order on an erasable menu. Most dim sum were in the $4.95 and $5.95 range. Our order came out within 15 minutes. Most of the dishes were good except for the shrimp noodle crepe, which was thick and chewy (not soft). I would recommend coming here for dim sum on a weekday when it is less crowded and hectic. We will return again!

Yelp
I've eaten dim sum here many times. Food is solid--not extraordinary; but nothing to complain about. Just good. The biggest hesitation I have now for eating here is food safety. On TWO different visits, I happened to be in the restroom when I witnessed a female server come in, use the bathroom...then leave without washing her hands. So, the first time I saw this I was shocked but went back to my parents' table and didn't say anything because it was the end of our meal and I didn't want to ruin anyone's time. Let them enjoy their full bellies, I guess. The second time I saw a server not washing hands was a few years later on my most recent visit. I mean...what are the chances. Ugh. I just can't bring myself to visit again.

Yelp
This place does not disappoint. After passing by numerous times and thinking it's just another Chinese restaurant a friend invited me for dim sum. I was pleasantly surprised by how delicious everything was. The restaurant is elegantly decorated and clean, great service and there's parking across the street in a parking lot. Be sure to walk with the ticket because they validate it. It's a bit pricey but the food is good. We had roasted duck, crispy roast pork, steamed chicken feet, shumai, steamed dumplings, steamed greens, spare ribs and purple gold yolk bun. Of course we had a pot of jasmine tea and most of all we didn't have to ask for water, the waiter brought us without us asking for it. We so enjoyed the food that we returned two days later to celebrate our cousin's birthday. The waiter was so nice he even joined in on the singing and he brought us candle and had some of our cake. It was a happy occasion all round. I can't wait to go back.

Yelp
We went here tonight for my mom's 60th birthday party! There was some kind of big party going on the main hall. It was quiet loud. Since there was like a program or something. We ordered a few of our favorite dishes. Deep fried pork chops, peking duck, bao with salted egg, green beans, pork intestines with cabbage., egg tart. We ordered a lot since there was like two tables for us. The food was good and the service was great. Just the loudness of the program was a bit jarring. I couldn't think since the speakers took over the whole restaurant. But all in all it was good.

Yelp
I had a positive experience food and service was good. My servers were personable and several spoke English well. It was a wide variety of dim sum choices from chicken feet to green beans and Chinese broccoli. My favorite was the green beans and surprisingly I enjoyed the pineapple custard buns. Everything tasted as it should. My party of 5 was seated promptly and parking was validated. I was skeptical because the reviews average was low overall. It seems a few bad reviews yanked the average down. I would say definitely try this place yourself. The place is spacious and clean. I love the ambiance of crystals overhead. All the dim sum items I usually ordered were offered and then some. My only criticism is that the hostess needs a better seating and tracking system, the lady is abrupt when she speaks not really friendly and the food is a little heavy on the oily side for me. I like food clean light tasting. This is Chinese food in this area tho. I wish they would all just lighten up on the oil. I would definitely come back again, there were dishes a I have never tried because we were just too full . Make sure to get your parking ticket validated. Give this place a try at least once. I think it was great for the area.

Yelp
We were initially attracted by the all day dimsum from 11-8p, however there are better places for dimsum than China Garden. The service was quite poor - our waiters kept switching and it seemed the two were not communicating to each other. Our waters got refilled once. Halfway through still asking a question or talking, the waiter would begin to walk away. The restaurant was maybe only 30% full, but he sat us right next to two large families when there were plenty of other open tables. When we asked to be slightly distanced, he told us that all the tables were the same. Additionally, we never got the tea we ordered. As far as food, I felt the dim sum choices were fairly basic. Overall, the food was decent, I'd give it a 4/5. The turnip cakes, shrimp shumai, chive dumplings, etc. were done well. Do not order the short ribs or pork ribs - the quality of meat was very poor and was primarily fat. I don't think I'll return here in the future as there are better options in the MoCo area.

Yelp
Came late on a Friday night during a rain storm and worried that they were closed- but thankfully no! They were attentive and helpful with entree suggestions. Had the filet mignon and it was the most flavorful beef dish we've ever had. Also had the tofu and veg dish with very subtle flavors and soft tofu bites! Can't wait to come back and try their dim sum!!

Yelp
Pros: food is fresh and tasty. I thought the wait time would be very long but we were seated in less than 5 mins on a Saturday. The place appeared clean and lots of sparkling decor. Cons: once we were seated, our waiter was almost no where to be found. We had continually flag down a waiter for various things like water or tea or ordering food. The food carts were not as full as other places. There was not a lot of various options for dim sum dishes. It was kinda disappointing since we drive from VA. Also they will automatically put the tip on the receipt. Make sure you look at your receipt

Yelp
This reminds of their OG Rosslyn location. Highly ceilings and large tables for dim sum brunch or wedding parties. I've stopped by twice recently and this has become my new favorite dim sum spot in the area. It definitely gets packed on the weekends so I recommend coming here early. Textures and flavors here are on point. I always have to order shumai, ribs, turnip cakes, green beans, stream shrimp rice crepe rolls, har gow, and egg tarts. Food always comes out piping hot. If you want anything thats not on the carts you can also order a la carte as well during dim sum hours. Service here is on point. Our drinks and silverware were constantly getting refilled. Look to spend $30-40 on average to get full. Parking can be tight on the weekends, but theres plenty of street or garage parking up the street.

Yelp
I was introduced to this place by a co-worker and the first few times we went the service was a bit rushed. We frequent it because their dim sum is very good. The more we go the better service we receive. In fact we joke around with the staff now. Their greens are always the same though, really expensive and not worth the money you spend but the dim sum, custard buns are delicious! Lots of seating and they get A LOT of Asian customers so you know the food is authentic. Pricey but for the most part worth it.
