Google
They do have different delicious Chinese food that I never tried before. The best (Chow Fun)干炒牛河 in town. Very delicious. Large quantities but inexpensive. So it is worthy to recommend and give it a try.

Google
Worst food ever. Went today and ordered spring rolls. Grease all over the bag and spring rolls. The noodles had no flavor just salty. The rest of the food was nasty. We went last weekend and the food was great, that's why we returned. What a disappoin.

Google
Incredible food, timely service, and passion for Chinese culture that contributes to the diverse food scene here in El Paso, TX. You won’t go wrong ordering out here.

Google

Google
Appetizer came out at least 20 minutes after the meal. The food was so greasy I couldn't eat it. The service was not good even though there were only two tables of 2 people Had to get up 3 times to get napkins, etc. I won't come back nor will I reccomend this place.

Google
I don’t know if they have new owners but over this last year things have been better and I came back after a couple of years of staying away. Food tastes good authentic. But greasy. A bit of smart alley dude but ok. Anyway recommend for the food but a bit on the pricier side but it does taste more authentic than most honestly.

Yelp
First time here! Small place and good friendly service from Alan! We had egg drop soup very good! We had Kung Pao chicken and it's made to order so you can customize it to your liking! So freaking good! We will be back!

Pete H.

Yelp
Food is second to none. Service is above and beyond. Ambiance is very low key. Nothing special. Would I return ?? Absolutely !!!!!

Yelp
For El Paso, this restaurant is as close as you get to authentic Chinese food.. yes they still have the usual America fare like sweet and sour stuff and broccoli and beef.. I ordered beef chow fun and salt pepper squid and it was really good! I'll be back next time I'm in EP for work

Yelp
I can't believe I've been eating at this restaurant for years and have never written a review! China House is the perfect place for Chinese food that tastes homemade and is so flavorful, even when you take it home. It's definitely worth the price for the amount of food you get and the service is always amazing. It's a family-owned business so you'll see one of the kids or the parents running the front counter and they're always really nice. The restaurant itself is always clean and inviting, never messy, and they even pack your order in boxes with all the containers inside it. You never have to worry that something is going to spill or fall out. We always order the orange chicken, sweet and sour chicken (sauce on the side) and fried rice for both. The orange chicken is always fresh and juicy with a nice kick to it. The sweet and sour chicken is always crispy and perfectly fried, and the fried rice is so flavorful. Their soups are also top tier. Whenever people ask where to get good quality Chinese food I ALWAYS recommend China house!

Yelp
Food was way too greasy. Mongolian shrimp was all Mongolian and no shrimp. Combination lo mein was all noodles no meat. Eggrolls we're not even edible completely packed in Grease.

Yelp
My wife and I visited location for the first time. Food was decent however a customer came into the restaurant 20 minutes after we arrived and ordered this food 10 minutes after us yet he received his food before ours. Not only that but when we received the bill it was higher than it should have been, we were up charged a dollar more on everything than was on the set priced menu. The waiter's excuse was they haven't updated the prices since COVID. Do no recommend unless you plan to get scammed.

Yelp
The best Chinese food in El Paso. The service was fine and the food was phenomenal. The ambiance wasn't much to write home about (first sign that this place was gonna be good) and the restaurant itself is unassuming. We went Sunday at noon and ordered the steamed dumplings, edamame, lo mein, tomato chicken and general tso's chicken. The edamame was blanched to perfection. The dumplings were fresh, sticky, and juicy. The General Tso's chicken was tasty, sweet, tangy - the batter was crispy and the chicken was juicy. The tomato chicken was a very nice surprise and the flavor was a perfect balance between Smokey, tangy and sweet. The lo mein was filled with beautiful fresh and well cooked veggies tossed in a delicious brown sauce that was garlicky and sweet. Finally, a good Chinese food place in El Paso. And on the Westside of all areas!

Yelp
This food is great the food is prepared fast but still very good the service is very good I would recommend they give you big portions for cheap 10/10

Yelp
Fast service from a sit down restaurant. I was really in the mood for take out Chinese Food after running errands. I just wanted to get to-go and go home and relax, but I had my little dog in my car. I could not go in and place my order so I phoned in my order. I told the woman taking my order my predicament. Because I was paying cash, she brought my order to my car when it was ready so I would not have to leave Luciano alone in the vehicle...and it was ready very quickly! We got home and Luciano could not wait to have a tiny taste of my vegetables. I ordered the pork chop suet. It is not like East Coast dishes of the same name- this is much better and healthier. The stuff I am used to had lots of thick sliced onions and celery in a cornstarch sauce...the dish from China House was so good. I also ordered the steamed dumplings. They were packed with meat and very tasty. Prices were very reasonable. Service, taste and price is why I gave this five stars.

Yelp
We have been coming to this place for over 3 years now and just realized I had never submitted a review...we ordered take-out and our favorites are: Fried Rice, Lemon Chicken, 3-cup Chicken and Salt and Pepper Tofu! Great menu and the owner is super nice. Totally love supporting small businesses -Enjoy!

Yelp
If there ever was the most hated customer it would have to be me. I placed an order to go 30 minutes before closing time. Unlike most restaurants in El Paso which stop taking orders 30 minutes before closing, the owner took my order and then even stayed 10 minutes after when he could've easily just locked up and gone home. Definitely five stars for customer service and appreciation. As far as the food goes, we ordered pork fried rice, general Tso's chicken, pork dumplings, edamame, and sweet-and-sour pork. All of it was fabulous. I definitely would recommend the sliced pork appetizer. It was very tasty and juicy unlike other places where the meat is dried out. Overall, this is my go to Chinese restaurant

Yelp
I have been coming here for years. Pretty much always delicious! We have done catering for a party really not a bad deal. It went over well instead of pizza option. You can't beat the lunch special soup, rice, entree for 5.99/6.99. I am typical. I love sweet and sour chicken and egg drop soup with the crunchy noodles. I could definitely go with more veges in dish but what is there is fresh. You get plenty and will have to take some home. Also very very good and I always forget to order is lemon chicken honestly I would say better than sweet and sour. If you are a wings person you will enjoy salt and pepper fried chicken wings.

Yelp
great hope in the wall in the west side. The lady owner can be rude some days , but I laugh at it. Reminds me of the soup nazi. Food is great
google avatar

Yelp
I love this place the food is excellence and consistent. The staff is very friendly I call in take out all the time and my food is ready and correct

Shalom R.

Yelp
This is my go to place for Chinese food on the west side of town. The food is always good! I particularly love their egg foo young and spring rolls. I understand, the server could be friendlier.. but I've been coming here for years, he's not so bad, and the owner is super nice.

David C.

Yelp
I had a takeout order delivered to me at work it was excellent. I am a vegetarian and they catered the vegetarians also which I liked.
google avatar

Gertie V.

Yelp
My definition of authentic chinese food is by how they make their salt and pepper squid. Boy do they know how to make salt and pepper squid. I was pretty surprised by low ratings were. I had tried many chinese restaurants in the west side of el paso and this one so far is the tastiest to me. When the mood strikes and home sickness arises, I go the China House and order some salt and pepper squid, and the world is a better place...
google avatar

Yelp
The place is tiny, but don't let that deter. Lunch specials are cheap, delicious, and quick. Decor is nice and inviting; upscale enough for a suit, but laid back enough for a t-shirt. The food is great! Well cooked with proper texture. Flavors are more subtle but worth the savoring. Mild in all the right ways. Great for someone who wouldn't usually prefer Chinese because of overpowering flavors. Well worth checking out.

Yelp
So good. Highly recommend this little gem off of Redd Rd. They start you off with cabbage slaw--don't knock it until you try it. The crab ragoons are delicious as well. Very crispy. We had the beef and broccoli and the sweet and sour shrimp. The shrimp was definitely the favorite and the win of the night. Very lightly battered but delicious. This place is a must try!

Julie G.

Yelp
Best Chinese food in town! We've been coming here for 3 years now and it never disappoints.

Yelp
First time here... my hot and sour soup was warm not hot... but was okay for taste.. had the spring rolls - those were great! Ordered the kung po veggies .. they were okay as well - nothin special about this place ... just like almost every other mom and pop Chinese place ... the lady was okay for customer service at most part .. slams down the rice, gives us straws and comes back to ask if we are not going to use the straws she was going to take them back...cheap as can be... looks like from the reviews I read a lot of people have stopped coming due to the customer service.. we most likely will continue to look for another Chinese restaurant where we feel comfortable..

martin m.

Yelp
Very poor service, i went to dine in today and the place smelled very weird, the server was rude and took long to bring me my order. The food wasn't too good for the wait, I've tried better places wouldn't recommend at all.

Matthew M.

Yelp
Best Chinese food in the area, they have a House Spicy Rice that is absolutely delicious. I've tried other Chinese food restaurants in the westside but bar none, China House has the tastiest, freshest and most traditional Chinese food.
google avatar

Saif A.

Yelp
Went here yesterday to grab some lunch with my mom before shopping. I see many reviews complaining about the service, although the service for me was great. Didn't have any problems they were pretty fast when it came to taking our order, getting our drinks and food, and refills. It was all pretty fast. Now for the food it was okay at best. Both my mom and I ordered the Mandarin Kung Pao Shrimp. It was alright but compared to the other Chinese restaurants I've been to like I said it was okay. Not a bad place to check out, but unfortunately there are other places better.

Yelp
Terrible service! Te restaurant always looks dirty! We ordered a sesame tofu and a teriyaki chicken....the food took so long that we decided to take it home! When we got home, in the to go container we had a teriyaki chicken and a sesame chicken. Also, the total for the bill was $21.37 and the charged the credit card for the amount of $31.37. Bad service, the food takes too long and they give you the wrong food.
google avatar

Tony S.

Yelp
Fresh veggies and HUGE portions. Quick turn-around on takeout. Will be trying more of the menu in the future!

Yelp
Best Chinese food in El Paso. My favorite is the wor wonton soup. Service is not too bad and the food usually comes out in a timely manner. I would definitely recommend this place.
google avatar

Nicholas L.

Yelp
This restaurant is terrible, I am shocked by the favorable reviews listed here. We ordered pan fried wontons, General Tao's chicken (proper spelling is Tso, not Tao), and pork in black bean sauce, for take out. They forgot the wontons, causing me to wait for 15 minutes after I arrived at the restaurant. The wontons looked and tasted like they had been fried in burnt oil, they were awful. When I removed the bell peppers from the chicken and pork dishes, their volume dropped by two thirds. I wouldn't mind this if they had tasted great, but, like the wontons, they were awful. My wife and I ate about a third of each and threw out the rest. The Mexican chef at this restaurant was trained by the owners, who come from southern China, Guangdong province. The dishes on the menu are eastern and northern styles. It seems the owners don't know how to cook these dishes, yet they are teaching their staff to cook them. I would avoid this restaurant like the plague.

Yelp
I have had the good fortune to eat Chinese food all over the world, so it was a real surprise to find such an excellent place in El Paso. Its a small place that fills up quickly and with good reason, the food is excellent, the service goos and its clean which so many restaurants in El Paso aren't. I had the Sweet and Sour Pork. I know thats considered pedestrian but I've loved it since I was a kid and so few places do a good job of it. The pork was lightly battered and fried, the peppers, carrots and onions were obviously added at the last moment as they were crispy and delicious. There was just enough sauce to glaze the pork without overpowering it. So many places seem to think that you need to drown the ingredients in the sauce. China House gets it, the sauce is there to add to the dish, not to turn it into a stew. The egg drop soup was a delight. Again, so many place seem to think that egg drop soup is just chicken soup that you drop an egg in. No, its a soup all its own, the egg whites only should be delicately drizzled into the broth, not just dumped in. At its best Asian cooking is about subtlety. Its the mix of ingredients, assembled at the last moment, complementing and contrasting with one another. China House understands this while so many Asian places, especially in El Paso do not. China House isn't just good for El Paso, this place could hold its own in any city in the country.

Daniel M.

Yelp
The food was great! I Especially loves the hot and sour soup And not to mention the delicious spring rolls I never knew stuffing cabbage in a roll could be so fantastic! And last of all, the General Taos Chicken The chicken was real CRISPY but also super tender, all that with a side of rice to top it all off!
google avatar

Teresa M.

Yelp
To say this food is authentic Chinese cuisine would be false advertising. We arrived to have lunch and ordered Szechuan chicken and Kung Pao shrimp. I was brought sesame chicken and the Kung Pao shrimp was foul smelling and tasting. We sent it back and ordered Lo mein which was sub par. On a positive note, the Diet coke was delicious. Aside from the bad food. there was only one person who acted as waitress, busboy and cashier. This was not our first time at this restaurant we had been twice before and were hoping for a better experience but after today we will never return and will never recommend this restaurant to anyone.

Yelp
Best kept secret for Chinese food in El Paso. Excellent customer service. Everything is cooked on the spot, even the desserts. I'm so glad I tried it!
google avatar

Rudy A.

Yelp
Been to many similar places but the food is by far the best quality I've had in El Paso. I would highly recommend to friends and family and will most definitely be regular.
google avatar

Jeff A.

Yelp
Went in to pick up food for a late lunch on a Sunday, and was surprised it was almost full (at 3pm). Like the other reviewer said, place is small but cozy. Ordered the General Tso's chicken and the combo pan-fried noodles (chicken, beef, shrimp, veggies, almost the whole enchilada). Was warned that the noodles takes time to prepare, about 15min, which either told me the cook is slow or they really take time and care for this dish! My wife and I ate at home and generally liked the food we ordered. The General Tso's chicken is breaded but not heavily breaded. It was lightly sweetened, not overly salty. The noodles were crispy, and veggies seem fresh. I thought the gravy for the noodles was okay, but my reference is from Chinatown in San Francisco and in Los Angeles, so my expectations are a bit high :) Overall I'd say their Chinese food is pretty good for El Paso.
google avatar

Alejandro B.

Yelp
Orderd the crispy spring rolls for the appetizer, when they arrived to the table it looked more like oil soup with veggies mixed in. For the main entrees we ordered the crispy and Sesame tofu, both of which were aesthetically displeasing at first glance. After taking a bite, the two had a terrible texture and dipping sauce that had the viscosity of molasses. The server never asked if we had enjoyed our meals as I suspect he knew of their horrible quality, or maybe it was from the look of disappointment as we asked for the check with full plates.
google avatar

Elena C.

Yelp
Black mushroom chicken was great. Quiet and fast service. Casual place for lunch. Tasty cucumber salad.
google avatar

Yelp
I really really wanted to like this place given the dearth of palatable Asian food in the area. But 4 1/2 stars this place simply just isn't even if it is located in EP. Called in my order about 30 min before I got there, the guy on the phone said it's be done in 10 min but after I arrived had to wait an additional 20 min for my simple to go order of 2 dishes. This would have all been forgiven if the food was decent. The beef chow fun was bland with noodles cooked more al dente than necessary. Shrimp in lobster sauce was filled with canned veggies and sauce was very watery. Both dishes were around 10 bucks which isn't ridiculously expensive, but is much more than food of this quality is worth. I wish I could give you a better alternative for Chinese in the immediate area, but unless you wanna drive another 10miles you're outa luck.

Sofia V.

Yelp
Because the food was good, healthy and MSG free, my family and I continued to be a paying patron. But now we'll be taking our business somewhere else. I've never been so miss spoken to when placing or picking up an order. At least you can count on the quality of good food and not over-the-phone customer service or in person for that matter. If you plan on ordering take out, be sure to BE ON TIME, or you'll receive a serious lecture from the woman owner. Heaven forbid when you're busy running errands with an infant, that being on time to pick up a take out order was on top of the list! After having gone there about 3 times a week for months, she freaks out on me over a cheap lunch take out order. Well, she got her $12 bucks and lost a long term customer! Enjoy the food, but don't expect good service or treatment.

Susan N.

Yelp
Went to China House for the first time this evening. The food was very good, reasonably priced and sizable portions. We had the beef lo mein and Gen. Zsou. Both very tasty. Service was a little slow but they were very busy (good sign) and when the good came, it was super hot; obviously freshly made. We also had the spring rolls. Yum.
google avatar

Daniel S.

Yelp
We had lunch specials, sesame chicken and sweet and sour chicken. They came with our choice of soup, we got egg drop. The food was good, the service was prompt, the bill was small. Sounds like a winner to me!

Mary Elizabeth M.

Yelp
Great food! Better than any other Chinese restaurant I have tried in El Paso. The breading was not soggy and over fried, there was alot of meat in the entrees and well sautéed vegetables. The egg drop soup was actually the color it's supposed to be and the service was great. Definitely going back.
google avatar

Eva M.

Yelp
Great food and service at a very reasonable price. Place is small and almost hidden between a liquor store and Subway shop. Kung Pao shrimp/chicken, sweet and sour pork, mu shu gai pan, soups, fried rice, shrimp in lobster sauce, etc are all good.

Lora H.

Yelp
Over the years I have literally spent hundreds of dollars at this restaurant to feed my family mostly for take out. It isn't the best Chinese restaurant but it is our neighborhood restaurant and we support local. Today I came to the restaurant after buying a drink at Bahama Bucks with the intention of eating at the restaurant instead of taking food to go. After sitting for five minutes the owner tells the waiter to tell me to either order food to go or get out because they do not allow other food in the restaurant. I am writing this review because I want the owners to know that they have lost a loyal customer. I understand that they may have rules about outside food, but I could have been asked nicely by the owner who should know me by now instead of being handed the paper menu and being asked to leave. i felt bad for the waiter who was embarrassed to approach me. I won't be back and that is too bad because small restaurants need to be supported, but in turn they should also value their customers. Checking yelp for a friendlier restaurant.
google avatar

raul r.

Yelp
Love this little restaurant the food is great I especially like the combination fried rice and the Mongolian beef, also I recommend the war wonton soup, service is a little bad, but it only makes the eating at a Chinese restaurant experience more authentic. In fact this is in my top two best. Chinese restaurants in town tide for first only with China wok over in the eastside
google avatar

Matt L.

Yelp
This is an interesting concept to cheap Chinese food. A little more healthy take on the whole thing. They offer no MSG and grease laden dishes that make you feel a little better about what you are eating. I had to use a bunch of soy sauce to compensate, which I don't know if that is doing anything to help the cause. The egg rolls and soup were good. I like the vermicelli options here. There needs to be a flavor factor if you are going to modify the classic dishes. It is too hard to find Chinese food in El Paso. There are only a couple options if you are browsing this area.
google avatar

Cesar O.

Yelp
Great little place for Chinese. I come here specially for their wonton soup and lomein. Prices are great too. They have dome really good dishes in their lunch menu specials.
google avatar

Fernando G.

Yelp
Upon our arrival we got very bad service. The guy at the counter was rude and looked like he didn't want to be there. The food was old and tasteless. Noodles very hard and with no flavor. In my personal opinion I think this is the worst Chinese food here in El Paso.
google avatar

Juventino G.

Yelp
It was pretty good. My co-worker took two huge trays to work they were gone by the morning.
google avatar

Sylvia A.

Yelp
Worst service ever experienced, and for me the food not very tasty! The waiter was extremely rude, And if you want to be insulted this is the place to go. Do not recommend at all!
