China King Allentown

After a long, soul-searching walk that had my legs questioning my life choices and my back screaming for mercy, I stopped at China King for some much-needed takeout. Let me tell you — that food didn’t just hit the spot… it hit my back pain, my inner peace, and revived my will to live. The flavors were on point, the portions were generous, and every bite felt like a warm hug. 10/10 would let them cook for me after every emotional walk again.

First, i waited 10-15 min for someone to acknowledge i was standing there, then after i ordered, i waited another 45 min to receive my food. To top all that off, this was the worse Chinese food I’ve ever had. (I’m not over exaggerating). The food even had a weird color to it. I will never come here or recommend anyone to come here. I was highly disappointed.

I called for take out and the person I spoke to sounded Asian. When I arrived to the location, the entire staff was not Asian. Rather some local non attentive attitude having people. I did not receive a fork for my shrimp fried rice or a straw for my lemonade drink. The spring rolls were mushy inside and the rice was soy sauce soaked plain rice. Not a very good experience at all !!!!!!

Food tasted old and soggy. Ordered Sweet and Sour Chicken. No crunch to chicken. The color was weird looking. Also, ordered curry chicken. Both dishes was horrendous. Egg rolls was soggy as well. After this experience I don't think I will eat Chinese food again. I literally took one bite of each dish. I spit it out. I wouldn't give this to my dog. Driver however was excellent.

The first time around I ordered general Tso’s chicken and was good enough to eat. Second time I ordered pork noodle(lo mein). It was soggy noodles in a bowl of the saltiest soy sauce ive ever tasted. Absolutely disgusting. Ill never go back.

1st time ordering... House Special fried rice.. (rice was moochie and smelt a d tasted burnt) def not made by a Chino Other than that. The service was good

the food was really good and cheap i got the pork fried rice with bone less wings. the service was good and fast the owner is polite and friendly 10/10. the restaurant inside is clean and nice.

I got from this place the other day and the food tasted fine but today when I got it, my boyfriend's chicken wings were so dry and had close to no taste/flavor. I got the chicken and broccoli combo with no vegetables including onions but when eating the rice I got a piece of onion. The broccoli didn't even taste like broccoli and the chicken tasted strange, especially with the sauce! The sauce looked like literal blood clots it was actually so disgusting I lost my appetite! I should've read the reviews of this place before ordering because if I knew it was this bad I wouldn't have gotten it and I recommend you don't either because it's actually so bad.

Delivered my egg foo young in a pool of oil. $14 for trash I will never order here again. I think they did on purpose because I complained about a past order

First off, the young girl at the counter was not friendly. Then my order was a basic order just to try the food compared to other Chinese restaurants in the area. I ordered a half fried chicken with chicken fried rice. And two teriyaki chicken sticks. It was trash!! The chicken hard as if they refried it multiple times! And the teriyaki sticks were hard also! The rice was bland & dark. Not reminiscent of Chinese restaurants in the area. I'm starting to think that my food was old. SMH! I'm surprised they're still in business. Also if paying by card they needed to call it in because their system wasn't working. What a joke! I wasted $16. Not a lot but still a big deal for trash food! Have to give a star to submit. But in actuality it's ZERO stars IMO!

POS store. Clearly hours are open attempted to come inside and was locked. Random lady comes to the door and just shakes her head at me with no explanation as to why its closed. Based on the reviews here though im glad i didnt order from here

Horrible... I orderedr the House Special Chow Fun and Pork Fried rice and it tasted like shit! Everything was over cooked and MUSHY! NOT GOOD AT ALL RUINED MY DINNER!

The best Chinese food in the Lehigh Valley. The KING of general Tso chicken. If you like it hot, the house made hot oil will do the trick for you. The hot sour soup is the best I have ever had. Full of your choice of protein, and loaded with all the goodies that make this hearty soup a meal. I like to get an order of the dumplings and float them in the hot sour soup. The business is and has been family owned and operated for 30 years. I have followed this family all over the valley as they have owned and operated other restaurants over the years. Everything here is great! I have never had anything but top quality and flavorful Chinese food. Their fried chicken is also excellent!

This restaurant has been a favorite of my wife and I for years. So glad they have managed to stay open during the hardships of the last year and fortunate that had great take out service before and still do.

Moved to Allentown recently. Thank goodness this place exists. Food is good. Price is good. Cleaner than I expected. There aren't a lot of Asian restaurants around here. Parking is plenty as well. Hard working owners.

The absolute worst food I've ever had ever! The rice was old and the mixed vegetable were like a gelatin. It was so bad my entire $40 order went straight to the garbage! Shame on you for ever thinking that you can serve such bad food to paying customers! They also offer a free soda and don't even send that to you! Will never order from here again!

Sorry I don't see the selection for zero stars! I've given this place multiple tries and I'm just not feeling so forgiving anymore. I used to like this place but the food, quality, cleanliness and friendliness has gone down. They take forever to make the food, the employees change faster than you can change your clothes. Oh and don't you dare walk in there and interrupt an employee on making a personal call on her cell phone to place an order. I mean it's crazy how nobody cares. You are there to work not hang out. Lastly, I ordered won ton soup that the guy didn't even bother to close the lid all the way so it wind up spilling all over my car and to top it off the meat inside the won ton was raw. Thanks guys!

ordered delivery the other nigh. ordered pork egg rolls and received shrimp egg rolls. we have an allergy to shell fish in our house. Thank goodness it wasn't eaten. Called to get e refund back to my card for just the rolls and was told someone would call back 2 hrs later still no call so I called and heard we will give you pork egg rolls again I stated just wanted a refund for the rolls due to being afraid because of the mistake. Had again wait for someone to call back. When they called back was told to come in for $11.20 cash back again request for the refund to go back on the card because we ordered delivery because of not having a vehicl. Never again!!!! and no concern for the health issue. Will contact my bank if nothing is done

Subpar Chinese food that are barely edible. Even the simplest dish like chicken with broccoli fails miserably with tiny pieces of chicken and hard broccoli swimming in a pool of sweet black sauce concoction. Same goes with the Chef's special "Happy Family" with meats that taste so bland it left no one in my family happy, even my kids who love Chinese foods and can pretty much eat anything Chinese. They charge me $1 convenience fee for online order and the guy at the cashier was rude, he tossed my credit card on the counter instead of handing it back to me. I guess you get what you pay for, and I will not return since there are so many decent Chinese restaurants in Allentown.

Rice is either over cooked or old, i should've payed attention to the reviews. The wings seemed old also, they were soggy & the skin looked weird. The wings didnt taste as bad, but the rice was horrible. One positive thing is the driver & the man over the phone was polite, & the food came earlier than expected.

Favorite Chinese restaurant in town. Been going there for over 20 years. Ownership has changed hands from the parents to their son and the tasty food remains. Owner has done a great job of working to increase the quality and is open to feedback. Has been my go to and will continue to be.

If I can give it several zero's I would .....Charge me a $1.00 fee for convenience when order thru app when I went to pick it up the order myself. The check out didn't even show you that there would be a fee and when I got there they first ask for payment then once you paid, They tell you about the $1.00 fee and would not refund it. And on top of it didn't even have the drink I asked for saying they can't do nothing about it and it was up to the owner, so when I asked for the owner surprised he wasn't there but of course. Oh mind you got home and the bbq ribs weren't even bbq. Never again will I order from this place. Not too far from there on 17th and Liberty in the cvs plaza a place called Sakura makes really good Chinese food and there's also on 17th street across main gate side there's another Chinese place called New Garden is really good.

Order somehow defaulted to tomorrow and then it took over an hour and they were out of half of it. Don't effing put it on the menu and allow the order if you are out!!!!!

Food was really good. I've tried all local Chinese and this was the best one yet. I ordered chicken wings, chicken and broccoli, shrimp lo mein, boneless spare rib tips and fried plantains. All the food was very tasty, delivery did take long was told 40 mins to an hour and didn't get to address for an hour and 15 mins.

Ok the food is ok. However as I was sitting waiting for my food and roach was legit crawling by. And the little thing didn't even care that there was people around. Idk I felt bad telling them I didn't want the food anymore so I just took it and left‍

Very friendly owner who made my order superquick when I realized that I called the wrong location. Food was great the sauce on the barbecue pork ribs was delicious. Appreciated the freshly made noodles on the side. Definitely going back. definitely suggest trying this location for your next order. The new owner is great!

This place is absolutely f****** ridiculous!! The lady on the phone was a complete b**** and swore up and down to my man that it was absolutely impossible to make shrimp egg foo yong without the vegetables in it as the vegetables are apparently what holds it together... what a complete moron!!! THE EGG IS WHAT HOLDS IT TOGETHER, DUHHH!!! We've ordered from multitudes of other Chinese restaurants and we have never EVER had an issue like this before where we were told it was impossible to make the food how we wanted it made. Either this is pure laziness on their part or they just don't make their food fresh and have each egg foo yong patty pre-made, but needless to say we will NEVER WASTE OUR TIME OR MONEY ON THIS PIECE OF GARBAGE RESTAURANT AGAIN!!!! I cannot believe that this restaurant would treat their customers so horribly!! This place is a joke and definitely not worth it!! Try Hunan Garden or the other China King on MacArthur road for much better food and service!!!!!

STAY AWAY!! My wife and I are always on the road, we run a non profit organization that tackles mental illness and drug addiction in the Lehigh valley. We're always eating out unfortunately but today we decided to eat some Chinese for lunch. We decided to eat at China King and while we were 75% done we see a cockroach walk past our feet!! My wife jumps up and I almost vomited. All we could think about was the possibility of our food being cooked near roaches. I immediately tell this older Chinese women who claimed to be the owner (very thick accent) and she starts to yell at my wife and I telling us we were just trying to get free lunch!! I was fuming!! But held my composure surprisingly enough. She then grabs my wife's cell while we were showing her the pictures of the roach without our permission and wouldn't give it back right away. I thought I was in a bad dream. Prior to us noticing the cockroach we paid for our food with our CC but she didn't know how to work the CC machine and couldn't print out the receipt for me to sign. She gives me a random piece of paper with the amount of money I paid and asked for me to sign. Finally a young spanish male walks in who happens to be an employee and I was able to speak with him and he issued me a credit. I would NEVER recommend this place to ANYONE!! BEWARE!!

Best CHOW FUN around also excellent veggie dumplings!, that's about it! the rice was not genuine fried rice almost like they use a cheap brand to make it. the chicken wings were not good. the half chicken was not good (over-cooked and too hard) . General tso's was typical. nothing to write home about.. ONLY BUY CHOW FUN OR VEGGIE DUMPLINGS HERE! Anything else can be purchased somewhere else. Thanks for reading.

Their shrimp wth broccoli is my favorite, especially with garlic sauce and they make it spicy enough for me. The specials are pretty cheap compared to most places, and delivery is fairly quick.

This isn't exceptional Chinese take-out, this is very average Chinese take-out. I asked them what was good and they said GTso's so I went ahead and ordered it and it was pretty much the same that I've had anywhere else. It's not sub-par, but it's just average and when you've actually sat down and had good, delicious Chinese food it's really hard to go back. Now now, you might say General Tso's isn't a very good choice for authentic Chinese. That's technically true, it's American-Chinese, but that doesn't mean you can't have that entree made with fresh, white meat chicken with mushrooms and other vegetables mixed into the stir fry rather than just a couple of broccoli.

The French fries tasted like dirty oil couldn't even eat it. Chicken wings tasted like they were refried or reheated definitely not fresh. The chicken wings weren't chicken wings they were chicken wing pieces. The fried rice had multiple hard pieces through out the order. The sauce in the chicken and broccoli and the shrimp and broccoli was super sweet more of a teriyaki than a gravy. Used to order from here all the time when I lived in the area a couple years ago. Was in the area to see a friend though we would pick up an order, definitely never again and wouldn't suggest it.

We live about 30 minutes away, but we will drive to get their food because it is the best Chinese food in the area. We had a mix-up with our order, but the owners made it up to us and gave us extra food to compensate and I couldn't thank them enough. I highly recommend them .

Hi the other day a driver was making a delivery next door to us so the driver came over and gave us a menu we were sitting on our stoop. So today Sunday fathets day we ordered. With high hope because most of the restaurant in town are pretty bad. Anyways we ordered my sister ordered general take chicken combo with brown fried rice . Rice wasn't bad but the chicken was very tough over cooked Then I ordered shrimp with lobster sauce was very funny and it came with baby curled up shrimp never seen that before . The fried rice was ok I was promised eggs in rice wasn't there I ordered Dim sum I believe they were just steamed wonton no sauce overall a very disappointing dinner the guy on the phone was dontvery nice when I placed my order don't know if we'll try again I love Dim sum

If you are looking for good Chinese takeout, this is the place to go. They have 2 locations and both are very good. I order from this restaurant rather frequently and have always had a good experience. Today we ordered from the location at 19th & Hamilton Sts. and as always the food was excellent. I placed a much larger order than I normally do and I wasn't sure how it would be handled but they certainly didn't disappoint. The appetizers were terrific and the sweet & sour pork & chicken, General Tso's, etc. were all great as was everything else. The Walnut Chicken was absolutely special as the sauce was so creamy and the chicken so tender.

Don't order at this place. Promise delivery in 1 hr 45 minutes. Called 2 hrs later and they hadn't started my order and said would take another hour. Canceled order but they charged my visa card for order and a separate charge for tip for an order I never received. Called back and after hanging up on me twice I was told would take two days to credit my acct. worse place ever. I would give them minus 10

Definitely the best Chinese spot I've been to in Allentown. Ive never had Chinese food like this before. It was different but really really good. The people there make you feel like you're eating at their house. Super friendly and great conversation. I highly recommended this spot!

Takes forever to get the food even if you eat inside and the cook was touching his runny nose as making food... Maybe because there isn't any heat on.. lol

Husband loved his szewuchan beef. Pan fried dumplings were great. Lo mein had a little too much sauce but was good otherwise. Will definitely be back.

It's deff gotten better in the year I have lived here. Food and service. I'm near by, so I go fairly often.

This is a take out chinese restaurant, but their food is excellent. If you are a general tso's fan, I recommend you try theirs. It has become my go-to chinese restaurant in the lehigh valley when I want something inexpensive and filling. EDIT: I've changed my review to 5 stars. I really think they deserve it.. I've never been unhappy and god knows how much money i've spent here.

I will make this short for a small take out place in a strip mall the food is great and the price is right i'm also lucky enough to live right on the next block.

Just had a reeeeeally bad experience with these guys. Bad enough my cousin found a fly on one of the eggrolls. The "Boss" she called herself was talking over me not listening making feeble excuses, lying saying that my cousin never said delivery and she did! Food late half cold and nasty! No she kept the one with the fly seperated. "The Boss" would not even listen when I asked if I brought the food along with the receipt to do a credit towards another meal. NASTY FOOD NASTY SERVICE! Top of the issue they only had to deliver the order right next door to Davita ST LUKES Dialysis Center. Sad day April 3rd 2017

I'm giving this place 5 stars- for what it is, which is Chinese take out, there is no better place I have tried. I am very partial to one particular dish, and thats the general tso's bean curd. If you have ever had tofu from a Chinese take out place, this is the model of which every other should be compared. I've been eating here for years, and my order is almost exclusively general tso's bean curd with vegetable fried rice and a veggie egg roll. I have gotten the same order from at least 50 other restaraunts and no where else comes close.

Rude rude rude. Made me feel like an unwanted customer. The men were waited on quickly. I was ignored for the phone. The Asian chef was clueless as to the difference between " to go" vs "eat here" Try somewhere else

I usually order for pick up and even though they are a little more expensive than the others they were the best around so worth it. Today they were the complete opposite. I thought I'd see if they had a new cook but they said it was the same cook. I had general tso chicken, Sweet and sour chicken and broccoli and chicken combos in all of them the rice was clumping smelled funny and tasted horrible. Their answers of "I don't know" repeatedly with no other offer to resolve this matter doesn't sit well with me. So I warn every one you might want to steer clear of this place. We are already searching for a better place around here.

This was a terrible experience which doesn't bear repeating. They couldn't deliver the order next door literally. The order also had a dead fly on the fried eggroll and the owner argued with me about the food. A rude woman amswered his phone. The people mext door won't deal with his business-awful!

I literally downloaded the yelp just to write a reveiw. I ordered delivery tonight . They told me it would be here in 20-45 minutes. After an hour of waiting i called to see if it was coming and to me it sounded like they where just realising that my order never made it out the door or was originally takin to the wrong address. So an hour and 20 minutes later it gets here. i was apologized to and told it got really busy. Then i go into my apartment to eat. So the shrimp that i ordered which was not jumbo fried shrimp but medium sized which was clarified to me when i ordered was 90% breading. And the small amount of shrimp that was left inside was dried out like a sponge. The egg roll was the width and length of somewhere between two or three fingers on my hand. It looked like one you would find in a tv dinner. The tso's chicken and fried rice both where mediocre but like not pork fried rice or general tso's ive tasted before. I got a cute little take out of white rice though so i guess that makes up for it. In all actuality im thoroughly disappointed and feel like ive completely wasted my money im also dispointed that they did nothing to compensate me or make up for how long this order took and this was my first time ordering from them. I dont write reviews unless my service was one of two thing, phenomenal or.... can you guess the second? Yes! Terrible!

Horrible Chinese. The pork fried rice had no flavor, the spring roll was half cooked and greasy. The sauce on the chicken and broccoli was like jelly.
