The Best Chinese Food in Las Vegas | Eater Vegas

"China Mama serves enviable bowls from Cantonese, Szechuan, and Dongbei cuisine under the guidance of executive chef Bing Chou. With 30 years of experience in Asian cuisine, chef Chou serves mouth-watering dishes of crispy beef, crispy pork with Mama’s special sauce, sliced fish fillet with pickled mustard, dry pepper chicken, and mapo tofu. Other standouts include spring salted egg yolk prawn, pork joint stewed with rock sugar, braised pork belly with small abalone, and the Chef’s Special Taro Duck. The newest location from China Mama, inside Palace Station, has a sleek new dining room for enjoying pot stickers, steamed juicy pork buns, and young coconut stewed bird’s nest." - Janna Karel

Where to find the best Asian food in Chinatown | Eater Vegas

"Soup dumplings and mapo tofu practically call your name at this lauded Chinese standby. The family-owned spot serves both Americanized Chinese items and more traditional Chinese dishes, but its signature dish is the juicy pork buns, steamed and stuffed with pork and broth. Top Chinese restaurants still open in Las Vegas right now for takeout and delivery | Eater Vegas

"Look for two different menus here. One carries more Americanized versions of Chinese fare. The other is dishes Chinese patrons may prefer. The restaurant’s signature dish, juicy pork buns, comes steamed and stuffed with pork and broth. China Mama also has dim sum. Open from 11 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. daily for takeout. Or visit Seamless, GrubHub, or Uber Eats for delivery." - Susan Stapleton

Google
Ordered 4x Crab Rangoons, and Honey Walnut Shrimp. It came with a side of white rice. Containers were neat. ONLY received 2 sauces for my crab ragoons when I should have received 4. The sauce cups are the 1.5-2oz sauce cup and definitely wasn’t enough for a total of 16 crab ragoons. Next time I will ask for more. Picture on the menu looks different than what’s made/given. Looks like they JUST received an A rating and the flavors match with ambiance and hospitality!

Google
We had the Mongolian Beef and Generals Chicken with a side of white rice and crab Rangoon. It was delicious, definitely hit the spot! Also, had great customer service.

Google
1st time. Delicious. We did a to go and the portions are very good for 2 and the customer service was great as well! Recommended. Will go again!

Google
I can't believe how bad this place is!!!!! The duck is hammered to the point of being brittle and unchewable! The "fried" rice is steamed rice with frozen cubed carrots and peas in it. 150.00 for this???? NEVER AGAIN!

Google
I drive 40 minutes to this side of town just for the stir fry green beans. Deliciously devine. China Mama, please open a location on the northwest side of the valley.

Google
Stopped to get food to go last night. I was very tired and didn’t feel well , just wanted to get it and go. . I ordered a couple items and was immediately pressured to put in a five star review in order to get a $5 coupon off the next order. The lady waiting on me would not put my order in to be cooked till she helped me do a review. I told her I couldn’t write a review without tasting the food. She offered to help me but I am editing that fake review now. I ordered chicken chow mein and beef broccoli. The taste of both was very disappointing . There was barely any meat in either one. Definitely not worth the price I paid and will not be using that coupon.

Google
I ordered different dishes, all were really good, except for the garlic chicken wings, too salty, wasn't as good as they looked on the picture. But overall I'd definitely would recommend this place. Customer service A+. Prices wasn't too bad. Restaurant nice and clean.

Google
China Mama Express is hands down one of the best Chinese takeout spots around! The food is consistently fresh, flavorful, and piping hot every time I order. The orange chicken is crispy with just the right amount of tangy-sweet sauce. Service is fast and friendly, whether I’m picking up or getting delivery. You can tell they care about quality and customer satisfaction. Highly recommend if you're craving great Chinese food without the long wait!

Yelp
If you know, you know. And if you don't, let this be your introduction to China Mama Express--an absolute gem serving some of the most consistently excellent Chinese food in the Valley. The crispy beef is our go-to favorite: always hot, crunchy, never greasy, and packed with flavor. It rivals--and honestly exceeds--versions we've had at upscale restaurants. The wontons in Szechuan chili sauce are a must: tender, perfectly seasoned, and swimming in a rich, spicy broth that hits all the right notes. The stir-fried pork with dried tofu is subtle but deeply satisfying, and the salt & pepper shrimp? Easily some of the best we've ever had--light, crispy, and bursting with garlic and chili flavor. We always get two orders of the house special fried rice because one just isn't enough. Every dish feels thoughtfully made, not rushed or reheated, and the quality shines through. No frills, no fluff--just top-tier cooking, generous portions, and bold flavors that keep us coming back. A hidden standout in Vegas Chinese cuisine. Highly recommend.

Yelp
I definitely recommend this place, if you are in a hurry for Chinese Food. Maybe not as good as the original China Mama, but is still better than other Chinese Restaurants. One item I did not like, are the eggplant (one of my favorite Chinese dishes). The sauce is sweet and boring.

Yelp
I rarely leave reviews, but the kindness and quality I experienced from China Mama Express deserve to be shared! I ordered through Uber Eats, but unfortunately, my driver delivered the wrong order. I called the restaurant, and Anne--who I believe is a manager or staff member--was incredibly kind, patient, and understanding. She not only apologized (even though it wasn't their fault) but went above and beyond to personally deliver the correct order to my home. That kind of service is rare these days! And let me tell you--the food was exceptional. Everything was flavorful, fresh, and piping hot. From now on, I'm ordering directly from them whenever I can. Not only is the food top-tier, but the customer service is unmatched. Thank you, Anne and the team at China Mama Express--you've got a loyal customer in me!

Yelp
Got to try a whole lot from their menu because it is family style dinning and came with 5 other people. Each of us got something different off the menu and shared. The rice and fish soup, Crispy beef, and eggplant were my favorite dishes from the night, I give those a 5. My friends like those and also liked the tofu dish. The sweet shrimp appetizer is delicious too. I could have done without the crispy duck, it was kind of on the dry side to me and the sauce wasn't enhancing its taste. The ambience of the restaurant is very nice on the inside, dim lighting. The parking is tough though because the lot gets very packed at dinner time. The service was wonderful, all the food came out quick, and the waitress was helpful and attentive.

Yelp
Was hungry for some comfort Chinese food but didn't want the corporate tastes of Panda Express, found China Mama purely by accident and what a nice accident it was. First of all, it's for your typical American Chinese food covered. Sweet and sour? Check. Comfort soup like the egg drop or hot and sour? Check. Deep fried goodness? Check. Ah but aside from the typical artery clogging stuff, want some "authentic" stuff that Chinese mommies make? Braised pork knuckles, dried tofu slices with pork, wood ear mushrooms (great for cholesterol), scallion pancake, and the list goes on. This is the place for Chinese comfort food only mama could make. Price is a higher than your typical takeout so don't go overboard.

Yelp
Food is always great and service is fast. Love coming here when I'm visiting from home

Yelp
We ordered the crab fried rice via uber eats. We were very disappointed upon discovering that its IMITATION crab used in it. Not worth the money. Very disappointed. I just wish they had specified that it wasn't real crab.

Raquel C.

Yelp
Love the food here! Everything is so tasty and freshly made for you!Service is awesome and place is very clean!!!

Yelp
Well... there is a first time... and a last. This is it for me. Today. Some 40 dollars later and realize that the tip I left (~ 8-9 bux) might've been more reasonable for the quality of the food today. Scallion pancakes barely cooked. No sauce. Chicken wings, scant. Hot and sour soup (while plenty) tasted burnt to a crisp. Hate to throw away "food"... but. Oh well. 40 dollars later lesson. No good east coast style Chinese food round here.

Yelp
Best Chinese food in town! Easy location to pick up from...my go tos are the orange chicken, walnut shrimp and the green beans!

Yelp
Where to start? In Vegas with some buddies and we try this place based on a recommendation from our Uber Driver on a previous trip. Located in Shanghai Plaza away from the strip this place could double its size and easily keep the tables full. In fact, if you have a group larger than 6 you will end up being shoehorned into a table. But the food and service easily make up for that. We had a group of 7 so our seating arrangement was a tad tight but they made it work. Sapporo beer and Sake helped wash down some of THE best Chinese food we've enjoyed anywhere. Seriously. We had several appetizers and 7-8 dishes and they were all fabulous. From Mama's Famous Pork Buns (you gotta try them) to the Twice Cooked Pork (spicy), the Orange Chicken, Kung Pao Chicken, Lo Mein, Mama's Special Fried Rice etc, the meal was spot on. Mama has another place opened in the Palace Station Casino which I can only assume is bigger. So next time in town we'll have to go there. China Mama is the real deal.

John T.

Yelp
This place is not only bad, it is astonishingly bad! The duck was so hammered as to be brittle and unchewable! The "fried" rice is steamed rice with cubed frozen carrots and peas in it. 150.00 for this????? NEVER AGAIN. THE WORST EVER!!!!! Where did the good reviews get food from?? Can't be the same place.
google avatar

Nica L.

Yelp
SOOO yummy! Had shrimp fried rice (honestly, it was just so-so) ginger scallion fish filet (OMG SO GOOD) honey walnut shrimp (delicious) and roasted duck (delicate and nice.) Erika was super sweet and helpful-- excellent customer service! Sure, it's a really small space, but it's also a nice place to sit and enjoy high quality food. Great people, too. Highly recommend this location!

Yelp
Congrats to China Mama for being glossed as the eighth best Chinese restaurant in all of America by Yelp. Holy Pot Stickers, there are about 50,000 Chinese restaurants in the U.S. so that's quite the honor! (though I don't necessarily agree) Of the four entrees tasted: Mongolian beef - generous portion of nice tasting steak pieces with most of the fat and gristle trimmed off. Crispy beef - a mound of beef slivers that are battered, fried, then coated with sweet and sticky spices. Comes with rice and tastes almost dessert-like. Beef roll - looks like a wrap rolled up with paper-thin slices of spiced beef and then fried. Nice taste (hoisin flavor, as in Mu Shu dishes?) but could have used some dipping sauce like their website photo shows. Chicken fried rice - drab tasting with pre-frozen peas, carrot cubes, and under-spiced chicken pieces...the dish is prepared with little or no soy and a packet or two of imitation soy sauce added after the fact does not rescue it. Pass on such a weak attempt at this 'non-gourmet' version of fried rice. But aside from the traditional, there's also a nice option to order lesser known dishes which is always tempting to do. I was all set to try the 'Husband and Wife Lung Slices' for $15.99, but collapsed under pressure because a visual of Hannibal Lector saying, "Bon appetit!" appeared inside my head and wouldn't go away. In the end, I like most of the food at China Mama Express although they could class things up a bit. It's in a tight space and upon entering, there was one customer waiting for a takeout order while a staff member chowed down on a mini-feast in front of us at one of only three tables. After I ordered she disappeared into the kitchen, presumably to help cook it, while her half eaten meal sat there. She emerged a couple times, went back in, never wore gloves, her late lunch sitting there interrupted. An employee stuffing her face is never a good look for the diner to see when entering any small restaurant. C'mon, do better! But despite the weird vibe, the food mostly does taste good. Maybe they can improve on a few things to make it more worthy of the high ranking.

Yelp
Food service is very fast! The ambiance is very nice as well. It's clean. The staff is very welcoming! Made a recommendation for a tea and it was so good! The food came out fast hot and so flavorful. The chow mein is a must try. Definitely coming back.

Yelp
Don't order here. They will mess up your order. This is the third time they've messed up an order and it's just comical at this point how bad it is. Personally I'm never ordering here again, but if you do, make sure you make them show you your order right on the spot. Otherwise, I can guarantee, they'll either get it wrong, have something missing, or a combination of both. I'm telling you, it's a clown show.

Josue Q.

Yelp
This place is the bomb used to go to the original place but ever since they opens this place it's the go to no wait and they get your order out super fast and same good taste China mama has
google avatar

Yelp

Yelp
China Mama Express is my go-to for fresh, flavorful Chinese takeout. The orange chicken is perfectly crispy. We love the beef chow fun. Food always comes out hot and fresh, without the long wait. Friendly staff and great portions--highly recommend!

Yelp
My son loved China Mama when it was on Jones and Spring Mt. I stopped by here the other day while my car was being worked on. It was around lunch time and I asked if they had a lunch special and they said no , but online it shows a Mama Special Lunch Box. So , I ordered the Sweet and Sour Chicken which came with White Rice and I got a Soda. It came to $18.87. It took maybe 15 minutes and I ate about half of it there and took the rest home. The chicken was nothing special more like a lesser Panda version. I was a little disappointed. It did have Pineapple Chunks in it as well as pieces of Bell Peppers. I usually get the General Tso's at other Asian restaurants and not all of them put in the Pineapple Chunks. I wanted my son to try it since he liked it so much at the old location , but they were going out to eat that night and the next day he went to work and never ate the leftovers. I personally wouldn't come back here. I've had much better food for the price at other Asian restaurants. Also the guy at the register was wearing a mask which is fine if you are still afraid of Covid or whatever , but I could barely understand him when I asked him a question and made my order. The dining area is small , but clean. It's just too bad the food was almost like frozen grocery store food.

Lorena B.

Yelp
First time visiting this location and we were looking for Chinese food. Boy were we glad to stumble across this place. Everything we ordered was fresh, delicious, and flavorful. Hands down the best Chinese food we have had EVER! We had never had crispy beef and it was the best thing out of everything we ordered not that anything was bad because it was all good. 10/10 recommend this place. We will visit again when we are back in Vegas.
google avatar

Yelp
It's my second time here and the food is good! It's essentially a take out place but there are a few tables for a quick, easy and delicious meal. The crispy beef was great -- just a tad sweet. Definitely try this easy convenient place! You'll enjoy it

Yelp
Same great quality. Fav place for takeout. Fast and efficient. Always delicious food.

Yelp
The food here was such a let down and NOTHING like the real China mama in China town. All of the food had a weird texture and the crispy beef tasted old. My dad who's not a picky eater even said this food has a weird consistency and didn't want to eat the left overs the next day. The chow mein was so greasy and also tasted like old noodles. Then the next day when I went to eat the left overs after it had been in the fridge, a weird blue color appeared on the chow mein. I definitely put it in the fridge so I don't know what that was. Absolute waste of $77 something dollars

Yelp
I literally live like around the corner I have no idea is was so close This is an Express of China Mama, is mainly to go, even tho they have couple of small tables there, but 98% of their business are to go I ordered the first time few weeks back, I think I ordered the Orange Chicken, it came with white rice, but I added another small white rice, cuz I just love rice. lol Brought it home, the Orange Chicken is a bit disappointed, because is very dry and don't really have sauce to cover the rice, so is very dry. Also the chicken have so much starch in it, not much meat, so another word, hardly any chicken just a bunch of starch Will not order that again A week after, I went back and ordered the House Fried Rice, remember I love rice? lol The House Fried Rice ended up pretty good, however the portion is a little in the small size, and I guess because China Mama is a well known Chinese Restaurant here in Vegas, like Panda Express or PF Chang, so their price is a bit higher I think I paid like $16+ for the Fried Rice, and if you go to one of those American Chinese Restaurant, they give you like huge portions, you have to eat 2 meals to finish it, and normally only cost you like $11 So you can see China Mama is a bit more expensive side Will I go back? Probably, even tho is a bit more expensive, still good food
google avatar

Icaria J.

Yelp
A little pricy for "take out" but you get what you pay for in this case. No mystery meat and very tasty food. We tried the fried rice, orange chicken, and walnut shrimp. I can't wait to come back to try more items on the menu.
google avatar

Stephanie O.

Yelp
Ordered food here on DoorDash, and wasn't sure what to expect! But we were so pleasantly surprised with how good the food was for take out. We ordered the yuxiang eggplant with minced pork, stir fry beef rice noodle, and the big mouth pocket (pork filling in a flaky sesame bread bun). The eggplant was so good but super oily! Hit the spot- perfect fry to the eggplant with the flavors cooked just right. We asked for a side of rice to eat with it since it was pretty heavily seasoned and overall pretty heavy dish. The pork pocket thing was nice and flaky with ground pork inside! It was nice and light but would be great with a sauce to dip it in. We really enjoyed this dish though! The stir fry noodle had a char taste to it which we light but wish it was cooked more charred! They had a good portion of beef and onions and some veggies!
google avatar

Yelp
We ordered food for 50 people. It was absolutely amazing. The food was just like any of the restaurants that China Mama has priced incredibly well. Service was on point large portions fit 50 people for about $400 highly highly recommend for parties.
google avatar

Dawn T.

Yelp
Quick and thorough service! Loved the food. Would highly recommend this establishment. Quaint place but great and open ambiance.
google avatar

Gina K.

Yelp
New location since their previous location had a fire, but not the same. The interior is charming. Very well spaced for the limited space given. It can get noisy since it gets packed. The wait time was 40 minutes, but it wasn't worth the wait. Ordered the crispy beef since that was the most memorable, but everything since this new location is overly sweet to compensate. I do like the glass window displaying the kitchen, but the food was overly sweet. The power went out for a blip while we were dining, but I guess that's just Shanghai Plaza for you.
google avatar

Yelp
When I think about Mapo Tofu the first place that comes to mind is always China Mama. It is very spicy and has just enough Mala seasoning that I can enjoy the garlic, ginger, tofu and sesame oil. Mala is a hot and numbing spice used in Szechuan cooking. I'm not a fan of heavy handed Mala dishes that leave my entire mouth and tongue completely numb. It just ruins the rest of the meal for me. I wish they would give a bigger portion of rice with the Mapo Tofu though. The half order is not enough for such a spicy saucy dish. The Cucumber Salad with Mashed Garlic is a can't miss dish as well. It is delicious on its own but it also serves as an extinguishing aid for the spicy dishes. It's so delightfully cold and refreshing. We also ordered the Vegetable Spring Rolls that were hot and crispy and the Hot and Sour Soup. The soup had a great balance of peppery spice and vinegar. The Potstickers were on the bigger side. They had a flavorful filling and a thicker chewier skin. The sauce was good but on the milder side. A little dip won't be enough. The skin needs to be filled like a DIY Xiao Long Bao. They didn't really have the crispy skin that a potsticker should have. That could be due to the steam that collected during transit. Even with the little things that weren't perfect it deserves five stars for a great meal.

Steve S.

Yelp
Great value and you get lots of food for the cost. Will be visiting again and again for our takeout nights!

Yelp
Amazing food! Everything we've ordered is exceptional! Everything is take out which is convenient.

Jennifer L.

Yelp
I have been to 3 of the other locations before and absolutely love their food, especially their dumplings, beef roll, etc. I knew this location existed but just hadn't gotten here yet. I was so excited I was in the area and dropped in. A lot of the same items including the pastry, soup, and mains. Cute little take out place but no wait and a few tables if you want to eat in. Same friendly service and great food.
